I was convinced last year I would buy the new iPhone X when it was released. All the leaked photos, specs, etc., made it my clear choice of my new upgrade. Then I went into Best Buy and actually held the X. First impressions: it's small. But this is because I have always used the plus sized phones when possible. Screen looked great. However, when I pulled up some videos and did a side-by-side comparison with the 8s Plus, I knew I wanted the 8. The screens look identical with great resolutions. Colors are bright and vivid, even "crisp" if that is word that can be used to describe colors. But, despite the fact that the X screen is just slightly larger than the 8s Plus, the videos were smaller. Much smaller. This is because of the screen ratio being slightly less wide than the 8s Plus. For me, this alone was the deal breaker. I can do without the talking emojis. That would get old for me real quick. I like seeing my screen big and bright. The X is bright, big, but not when it comes to videos, Netflix, etc. That's really the only drawback. Oh, and my 8s Plus was $200 less. Sold.

I absolutely love the new iPhone 8 plus! Great camera, super fast, water resistant, lots of memory space, large screen and so much more.

I like the glass back and the new wireless charging technologies. Phone works well. My only complaint about purchasing this from Best Buy was that when I bought it, I thought I was buying an unlocked device. I was not made aware though, that once I insert a SIM Card into the device, it would lock to the carrier of that SIM Card even though I had paid for it in full. Best Buy really needs to be clear about this when selling to customers. It caused a major ordeal for me when I was helping a client buy an iPhone. To avoid this, as it turns out, you can insert a Verizon SIM into the phone from the beginning and once it activates temporarily on the Verizon SIM, it will permanently unlock the device. Verizon is required by law for all their devices to be unlocked, so if you do that first, it will permanently unlock the phone. Best Buy does not sell truly unlocked phones, they sell phones ready to lock on the carrier they are activated on, so be sure and put in a Verizon SIM first if there is any chance you may need to change carriers before you have met the terms of your carrier unlock policy.

There is nothing the iPhone X has that I could ever want that this phone doesn't already do. There is no need for facial recognition! The camera, processing speed, memory and everything you could ever want in a quality phone can be found in this one. I've never had a problem with memory or anything as the 256G allows for more pictures than I could ever take on this anyways. GREAT buy!

EXcellent, as usual Apple have upper hand, Fantastic dual-lens camera shoots better than ever with improved portrait mode. Adds wireless charging. Fast speed. Best battery life in the current iPhone line. Still has a home button if that's important to you.

This phone was an upgrade from an iPhone 6S Plus, so I wasn’t expecting a huge difference. The improvements were huge! The screen and home “button” are much more responsive. Battery life has been phenomenal! After a full day’s use at work I still have 60% to 70% battery left. The cameras work great together when making pictures with portrait mode and look professional. We’ll worth an upgrade from a 6S.

This phone has opened a whole new world to me. I was hooked on android for over ten years and this phone has opened up a whole new world to me. The speed and simplicity of the device is awesome! Of course the camera is stellar compared to my Samsung. Applications open immediately with no lag like my droid. I haven't had an Apple product since the first iPhone and I think I'm hooked.

Love the extra memory and larger screen with the iPhone 8 Plus. Took some getting used to not having dedicated headphone jack. I guess my next purchase will have to be wireless earbuds. Overall takes great pictures and glad I upgraded.

This is my first iPhone, I’ve always loved Samsung galaxys and this phone made the switch from android to Apple so easy. First of all the battery life is the best I’ve ever had on any phone and the connection for googling and loading are absolutely amazing. I honestly wasn’t expecting that because I switched providers from Verizon to Sprint but I do think the actual phone plays a part in the quickness. I love the size of the screen and the camera is amazing. It picks up on all the details (even the ones I’d prefer for it not to lol) All is all Is recommend this phone to anyone who is ready to upgrade.

I love the battery life on this p hone. I turned a 6 and was hesitant to get another phone but I needed the battery life and the memory. Both have come through with this phone. The battery will last all day and I only charge it when I wake up on the morning. I use the phone all day. I am glad I upgraded to the 8 plus.

Easy to operate, easy to read, very happy! Going from a Galaxy S6 to the iPhone 8 Plus was a great decision for my husband. It's a good size phone especially in the otter box for his big hands and the print is large enough to see without his glasses. He's been transformed to an "i" guy!

Significant improvements include: - Great image quality - Better Image/Video compression - Capacity that will last (even in the base model) - Same processor as iPhone X (with Neural Engine support) - Wireless charging enabled Cons: - Too big a screen, even with the reachability feature it could be annoying. In comparison, iPhone 8 is smaller and very easy to work with a single hand but it doesn’t have the dual back cameras. - With the glass back your phone has twice the glass that can break. So protection is a must.

I’ve had an iPhone 6s Plus back in 2015, loved the battery life and feel. Now with the 8 Plus Apple has improved in the Touch ID sensor by making it more responsive with the Taptic engine and the battery life lasts so long. There are days where I can’t use it all. It could easily get 2 days battery life without any issues. The screen is amazing, some of the best calibrated LCD’s in the business. The gold color is not to heavily or too light, but it’s just right in the color tone. I love it. iOS11 is running very well on it and the stereo speakers on the phone are some of the best I’ve heard so far and I test a lot of phones. Also, I purchased a case day one just because I like to protect my investments. This one has a glass back so I don’t want any mishaps. Overall, the phone is beautifully designed and lasts for a long time. No complaints at all

I was always a Samsung user, but I upgraded to the IPhone 8 Plus. I find the phone very user friendly even though you are not able to do as much customization to the phone vs a Samsung. I love the FaceTime feature which is mostly why I switched so I’m able to communicate with my college age kids while away from home. The battery lasts quite a long time and I would consider myself a medium user of the phone on a daily basis. I debated between the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus due to screen size from my Samsung and decided to get the 8 plus. These older eyes love the new size! I also was impressed with the fact that Apple care screen fixes would be $29 to fix vs Geek Squad charging a $150 deductible for a Samsung to be fixed.

I purchased this phone for my mother, I myself am waiting to preorder the iPhone X. Nonetheless, it’s an amazing phone. If the small tech bumps like the bigger screen and face ID are not necessary to you then this iPhone is an excellent choice for you. The iPhone X is the start of a new era of iPhones and if you can wait on the small tech upgrades until they are more usable and there are more apps and software developed to take advantage of the awesome software then the iPhone 8 is the way to go for now. It has an amazing camera and powerful performance.

Impressive as always. Apple does it again, this time it is the new iPhone 8. Easily the fastest most powerful phone I’ve ever used. The camera is amazing and getting into this little baby was easy with the help of my Best Buy associate.

Bought a new iPhone and received a better deal on it than the actual carrier would give. Good support in store and everything worked out

I recently purchased this IPhone and so far I’m loving my pictures that I’ve taken! It also seems to hold a charge better than my previous iPhone. I haven’t found all the new and improved features, but the side by side texting feature is pretty cool! The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 is it tends to reboot itself quite a bit. I notice it most when I’m listening to my Pandora station. All in all I’m happy with this purchase!

I upgraded from a 6s Plus and well worth the wait. Best camera I have ever used, the battery life is fantastic and the wireless charging is A+. I bought a lamp integrated with a wireless charger from ikea and it has been great
