The hardware: Excellent, well built case is sturdy and attractive. Processors are the latest from Intel and perform better than the GHz speed would suggest. Supports plenty of memory for future growth and up to 4 internal hard drives which are super easy to install. Runs quiet for such a big tower case. The software: MacOS X is easily the best operating system available in 2009. Comes bundled with high quality, full version software such as iLife 09 -- not the off-brand, crippled demo versions you get with most PCs. And you can even run Windows XP or Vista on it if you wish -- some say it's the fastest Windows PC they've used. Others say don't put ketchup on caviar. But the choice is yours. Oh yes, and you can buy Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac if you need Office but don't want to run Windows. Overall: The best PC purchase I ever made was my 2.66GHz Mac Pro. It's been trouble free and handles multiple programs running at once without missing a beat.

I have never been a big apple guy but i figured i would give it a try. To be completely honest i was not impressed at all. I went out and found a computer with almost the same specs that cost 800 dollars. I know that computer is packing windows and all but a 1700 dollar difference! That means the apple OS costs 1700 bucks. I know people like apple cause it just works well but really 1700 dollars. Im not sold. If i pay 2500 dollars for a computer i want that computer do be able to at least have a terabyte of space or more then 3 gigs of ram or a video card that isnt 2 generations behind. Well if you cant already guess i returned my mac and bought a screaming fast PC. And i still have 1250 dollars to spare.

The Mac pro is a beautiful desktop machine. The metal case is durable and pleasing to the eye. Inside, there is no tangle of wires like a pc. It is very clean and easy to work. The mac operating system, OS X runs like a dream. It is easy to use and problem free. (I made the switch to mac computers 3 years ago after having had enough trouble with Windows PCs). The mac pro comes pre installed with great application, such as the iLife suite (iWeb, iPhoto, iMovie,iDVD and Garage Band). This is the best desktop computer I have ever come across.

and i still feel that it is not worth that much more than other computers. so what if it can boot up a couple seconds faster than another. so if it boots up 30 seconds faster, you are willing to pay that much more in price? i have used windows 7 and NEVER have i had a crash. EVER. so i can't say after using this one, and another mac that it is truly worth so much more than another computer. i think that the profit margin is great for the business, but for the consumer, too much. not enought value for the price in my opinion. and yes, i have given both apple computers plenty of time. more than enough really. i have used apples extensively, and really they are not worth that much more than any other computer. but do your own research and see for yourself.

The Apple Mac Pro is the best computer I've ever owned. I have owned and worked with other computers and the Mac Pro is the easiest to use and most reliable. The Mac OS doesn't have the problems that Windows has. If you want a great computer that runs a great OS The Apple Mac Pro is the computer for you.

The Mac Pro 2.66GHz is great for creative-minded people who want to explore the wild side of their brain. It's also loaded with applications that a normal PC does not have. It is an investment, but in four years it will still have room for upgrades and enhancements.
