I did a lot of research on what computer to buy for my daughter to take to college. This one seems to be the best. She loves the Apple products and already has an iphone and ipad mini so she had no trouble switching from a pc to a mac. It is pricey but according to other reviews and from our own experience with Apple, we anticipate this lasting through college so the higher price is worth it to us.

Have been wanting a laptop for a long time and finally took the plunge and bought one. This is a great laptop to start with. I have all apple products so it's nice that all of my apple items are linked together. Sufficient memory to start out. Easy set up. For the difference in price, the MacPro offers faster processor and more standard memory than the air. Yes, it's heavier but I feel it was worth the cost.

i received this laptop as a gift for christmas. the screen and laptop itself are both really nice, and even though it isn't as light as i thought it would be its still compact for carrying in a backpack. this is the first mac computer that i have owned so it was different trying to adjust coming from a windows pc, but now i much prefer the mac settings. overall, this is a really nice computer for students.

For the longest I was reluctant to buy into the "Apple hype" , then recently, I needed a new laptop and after shopping around for weeks didn't really find a single one I really liked. I had a Sony Vaio before and loved it.Then I saw this beauty and after doing some intense research decided to go for it. So far I really love it. It is fast, has great battery life and there is plenty to learn about it.

i used this laptop all summer for my summer school classes and it worked amazing. battery life is up to my standards. this was my first macbook and honestly i will never go back. every laptop i have bought a new one within 2 years. after the first few months of my old ones they got slow. my macbook i have had for around 4 months and it is still acting like its brand new! i am in love with it.

I had looked at a lot of laptops before deciding on the the MacBook Pro and am extremely pleased that I purchased this one! It is lightweight for me to take wherever I need to go and have all of my files and pictures with me when I need them. The battery life is very good for my use so I have not had to worry at all. The backlit keyboard is excellent for use when there is no other light and has a cool look even with lighting. Coming from a pc a little bit of learning was needed but, honestly, now that I have learned how to navigate through the Mac world I would not go back to a pc. It is just a lot easier to use. I like the look and feel of the Mac Pro, it easily slides in and out of my pack. It may get a couple scratches but I have found that it will stand up to some abuse. I would recommend the MacPro to anyone that wants an excellent looking laptop that has great storage and a very smooth interface.

We spent the greater part of my summer looking for the perfect computer for me that is not only durable, but also easy to operate. I'm so glad I invested my money into this laptop, but I would recommend getting insurance because accidents do happen.

It was time for a new computer and I was familiar with MacBooks at work. I was hesitant because of the price. I am so glad I went ahead with this purchase. This laptop is fast and easy to operate. I'm still learning all the things this computer can do. MacBook Pro beats every other computer I've ever had. Being wireless, I can access the internet anywhere in my home. Recommend highly!

This was my first Apple computer purchase. Having owned iPhones and Apple TV already, this device seamlessly integrated into my other devices and they all work well together. The speed and user friendly OS of this MacBook is absolutely incredible. You can feel where the money went when you use this.

You can add up to 16 gigs and 2 terabyte hard . Faster than the newer MacBooks and much more expandable. Has a dvd-r and lots of ports.

I am a second time Mac buyer. I received a Mac desktop a few years ago, but now as a college student, I needed something that I could take on the go. I decided on the pro out of personal preference, I did however upgrade to two sticks of 2gb ram to two sticks of 4gb ram, making my total 8gb. It runs ridiculously smoothly and I am yet to have even a minor complaint. I am very happy with the amount of storage space. Also, to my surprise, the item was part of a deal at the time so I got it for about $300 cheaper than I had originally planned. Generally speaking, if you are interested in purchasing a MacBook, I would recommend the MacBook Air to people whom are looking to just browse the internet/watch movies/etc (much more basic things), but I would recommend the MacBook Pro to designers, editors, and tech geeks who enjoy the simplicity and clean design of a Mac.

Fast, reliable, light and full of features. Definitely would recommend it.

This is a 2012 MacBook Pro that still performs amazingly well after three years. It comes loaded with the latest OS from Apple and will run all the current apps available today. An outstanding deal at $999.

If you want to dip your toes in to the waters of Mac, this is how I've done so. It's not a bad experience as my first computer running OS X, having spent decades in the Windows world. A decent performing laptop that rises above the net book level. Maxing out RAM to 16 GB is almost a must for heavy media production. But for casual users, it's snappy out of the box.

Confident that this will be the only college computer I will have to buy

I am not an expert by any means, but I bought this Mac for college and has been a perfect match for me. I dont have any complaints. This is my first mac laptop and I am so happy I invested my money because I can already tell this laptop will carry me through many years of my education. The battery life is superb, graphics are good, easy to use, and overal great purchase!

I have stayed away from Apple computers/laptops in the past because of the price even though we have Apple mobile devices. Bought this anyway and love everything about it. Beats our Lenovo and HP hands down perfect size and weight to take with you but still big enough to really enjoy gaming and other entertainment. Not having to buy anti-virus software is a plus as well.

If you want a laptop that is going to go the distance then the MacBook Pro is the laptop to choose. I used to buy Dell's but got tired of having to replace my machine every 2 years. The Apple computer line is far superior. You pay more for an Apple computer but you get better performance and a overall more user-friendly experience! Once you go MAC you'll never go back!

Bought this for my son to take to college. He was choosing between a dell and a macbook pro. He talked to his professor at college and they said a macbook pro would be a great choice. The professor at college had them and had to turn them in after 5 years for new one. Nothing was wrong with them they just had to turn them and get new ones.They said it would last well past his college life. He also talked to the best buy sales person who told him the difference between the macbook and dell and said the macbook would last him long past his college years. It was easy for him to set up and get running before classes started.
