Performance & Interface Our TV’s built-in software was incredibly slow, so we switched to Apple TV. It is significantly faster and much more responsive. While it took some time to get used to the navigation, it’s a major performance upgrade. Subscription & Apps You don't need an Apple TV+ subscription to get value out of the box. It works perfectly as a high-speed hub for: Netflix YouTube Twitch Amazon Prime Video The Main Drawback The biggest annoyance is that we still have to use the original TV remote to switch HDMI inputs. The Apple remote won't do it, which is a hassle, though not a deal-breaker. Verdict If your smart TV is lagging, this is a perfect fix. It’s fast and reliable for all major streaming apps, even if the remote integration isn't 100% seamless.

We simply love having Apple TV in our house. We now own several units. It is so simple to set up and use with all our services on one screen. The remote buttons and functions have some ability to customize and that is handy. Our daughter sets hers up differently than the family unit in the living room, for example. We love how we now have identical remotes and experiences in each room. Bedroom, workout room, living room, and man cave. Another great feature is the Apple Home integration. We don't use home on our iPhones but we love being able to bring up our outdoor cameras on our TV whenever we want. Easy to look at the grid of 4 cameras or just bring up one. Want to know if someone is pulling into your driveway? Check the camera while you are watching TV! Waiting for your in-laws to pull in so you can go help them, just leave the camera view up in the corner of your screen so you can leap into action. We can't recommend these units enough.

We are coming from an Amazon fire stick and the difference is night and day. The interface is clean and easy to navigate, and it’s very smooth with no lag. It’s great having access to the App Store as there are a bunch of games and apps you can install just like on an iPhone or iPad. Another huge selling point in the ability to screen mirror and airplay from our iPhones. It makes showing family photos and videos a breeze. The remote is also very cool and Siri’s ability to fast forward and rewind by any amount is amazing. Overall, I highly recommend biting the bullet and paying the Apple premium for this device, especially if you’re already in the Apple ecosystem.

This product is truly amazing and an overall fantastic investment. It pairs nicely with my Samsung 75”inch Tv with no connection issues or lag. It comes with great apps and screensavers as well. It makes date night or family night entertaining with great apps like sing a long for karaoke nights or different games like pro golf or crossy road fun game nights. Even if you wanted to have a date night through FaceTime the AppleTv makes it a breeze with great connectivity to use FaceTime on the tv and share play for your favorite streaming apps to watch shows and movies together. I also love the fact that it connects to my door security camera giving me real time notifications of camera activity and when people ring the doorbell I can see them from the comfort of my bed and or couch.

The Apple TV is the best media player I’ve ever used, coming from Roku and google tv, the Apple TV is incredibly fast and loads apps and games surprisingly quick without flaw, and it integrated into the apple ecosystem so AirPods and other Bluetooth devices can connect to it, and seamlessly connects to your phone for easier use. 10/10 would recommend

I find that Apple TV is the answer to all the slow apps with my TV OS. Whether it’s loading Netflix or buffering issues I always go with Apple TV coz it’s fast and reliable rather than the apps on my TV.

Purchased to replace many failing Roku streaming devices. I had owned an Apple TV from 2012 until around 2017. The Amazon Fire Stick had just came out, and the Roku was just coming around. With this, I purchased both. The Apple TV definitely wins between those two. My first Roku, lasted me about 4 years, and I was very happy with it, and then I purchased around 5 new ones every year just to replace the previous one. I have to say that the Apple TV has the BEST picture, and BEST reliability. It was easy to setup, and I had a better experience setting up than my previous Roku devices. I recommend this beautiful piece of equipment to everyone.

I wish I would have gotten one of these so much sooner. If you are an Apple user, it creates a truly seamless viewing experience. It’s extremely user friendly, the picture and sound quality are incredible. Highly recommend, I want one for all of my TVS now!

Reasons to get: 1) Better hardware: Apple TV is substantially faster and less sluggish than using the apps built in on your TV. 2) Easier to login: Using the Passwords app on your Apple ID account, the Apple TV will automatically recognize your logins for apps, and will ask if you want to login with those credentials. 3) Easier to control: Although the remote is extremely intuitive, you can use your iPhone (or iPad) as the remote, allowing you to move through apps. You can even search using the keyboard on your phone! 4) Continuity Camera: You can FaceTime from Apple TV, with the main camera from your phone being what is seen on the other end of a call, and the person you’re on FaceTime with displayed on your TV. Think of your phone as a webcam at your TV for this. 5) Hard of hearing? Don’t want to bother others in another room sleeping at night? You can connect AirPods wirelessly to an Apple TV, and the audio will automatically sync. Admittedly, if you’re an Android user, it probably makes more sense to stick with something like an Nvidia Shield TV for the added performance. Overall, it’s worthwhile to invest in a streaming device over using a TV’s built in apps!

I have two smart TVs, both useful in their own rights but AppleTV streamlines the differences between them! I had a hard time connecting my two smart TVs to my community network at my apartment complex and thanks to Apple’s ecosystem the Apple TV’s connected immediately to the network without any special work arounds like I have needed for other products. Apple TV also is super user friendly which made teaching others what to do was simple and clean. Not to mention streaming or casting from my phone was simple and fast. Faster then even connecting to the TVs directly.
