Incredible product. Worth all the money. At first it seems very overpriced but it's well worth the value. It's very easy to use. First of all there is no ads on the Home Screen. You just plug it in and watch right away no unnecessary ads that may or may not interest you unlike the LG WebOS, Roku, Fire TV, and Samsung.
The OS is similar to the iPhones which is very easy to use if you have an apple device. The Apple TV 4K has almost every app you can imagine which there is no barrier like other streaming sticks or devices that doesn't have a certain app. Best thing about it is the Apple TV app (which is on all streaming devices). You can save all your recently watched and it's all there for you. If you look up a movie or show it tells you what steaming service it's on or if you have to pay. It's truly incredible and does all the hard work for you.
The OS is incredible. You can go from app to app in a blink of an eye. You can turn off the TV and device and turn it on the next day and it will leave you where you left it at. You can also use your iPhone to type in a name of a video or movie. The simplicity of this device is great.
The remote is Also very good very simple only a few buttons and you can use Siri if you want. You could also speak into it if you don't want to search something up by typing.
Only downside of this device is that they don't ship it with HDMI 2 or 2.1 for $180 it's kind of stingy not to ship it with one but I think the philosophy is to keep carbon footprint down. I had an extra HDMI cord that I didn't use but keep that in mind.
This device is incredible and I recommend it 1000 times. It's all about streaming and about the customer not about ads and all that BS. It's so simple, it's so quick that it's well worth all the money. You will never be disappointed if you purchase this.
(P.S. - The screen savers are truly incredible and apple has put a lot of work into them. I think it's interesting seeing a sort of time lapse of places around the world and it's beautiful.)

More than a streaming device. It’s Apple TV.

I didn’t buy this device to make my tv smart (it’s a smart tv), I didn’t buy this device so I can stream other streaming apps (my iPhone can do that) I bought this device because that $179 price tag offered more than a streaming device. Everything about it is worth it. The Apple TV itself has a amazing chip and it’s powerful. The Siri Remote is golden. And this is the Apple ecosystem which fits a customer like me to enjoy what apple does. I get why it’s expensive, because it does more than a average streaming device. You can watch films, play games, tells you the weather, has Apple Music, with iOS 15 you would be able to do FaceTime on the device, it mirrors your own iPhone/iPad wirelessly without no lag. Years ago I always thought the Apple TV was a waste until I actually got my hands on it today. This black box is amazingly powerful.

Best interface of all the smart tv boxes. It is the most expensive, but they do go on sale. I do prefer this remote vs the last generation. Don’t care that you can’t replace batteries, but that’s usual apple stuff. You get what you pay for with apple products.

Its ok not really a big improvement. I still have last years appletv and does everything I need.
The dolby visson, atmos, and the remote are nice to have and if you have a 4k entertainment system its freaking amazing. Still there are some problems still apple should keep aware.
Pros- supports for all sound formate, video or 4k setups is better.
Its a bit faster to load channels and its nice that theres more channels or support for appletv
All my ipads or iphones works, even my old iphone 8 works well and can use as a remote.
Setup is ez if you have a apple account or know what to do. I just had to turn it on and login my channel list from my old appletv was there.
Doesnt take alot of space and the cooling system is nice. Its not really hot after leaving it on for 10 hrs.
The Pros-
The remote is super better since they made it a bit bigger (for us bigfoot people its nice to have a comfortable remote that doesnt give our hands tunnel syndrome) they somewhat kept the sliding and added seperate buttons for the up,down, arrows, but still I wish apple would just make 2 versions of the remote and make it bigger. 1 version is the bigger remote, that way the 80$ for just the remote would be a decent justification.
The price is still high 170$ or so for just the 32gb version. I bare ly even use 3 gb for the apps. My roku ultra does the same thing and goes on sale sometimes. Last week roku ultra 60$ And the pro remote that just came out is 30$ only too. If you buy the roku ultra and the remote on sale I bet you can get 2 of each compared to just 1 appletv. Even on black friday the appple tvs wontt be cheap
Prettty much using the apple tv was the only way to mirror or stream your apple ipad or iphones to the big screen. However you can now do this on roku. No addition software or paying 170$ was needed to do this.
The gui or menu for playing movies is still crap. Especially if u watch vudu movies or crunchyroll its awful. On roku ultra theres a back, chapters, auido, 4k quality, etc from a decent player view. Even with the new remote its really bad when you have to fast forward or scene select on the apple remote.
Digital movies or for those of us that had UV movies b4 Movies anywhere happen. Not all of them show up on apple. Even though it says its part of the movies anywhere library now I still had to rebuy them.
Channels- has all the channels I use but some channels like VUdu wheres the store, so I can buy stuff. On roku I can watch and buy my stuff. The channel selection is pretty ok I dont see any exclusives that pops up. I do love the twitch channel on apple tv. Theres twitch on chromecast, ipad, pc, but for us 4k watchers its nice to have on the big screen with a dolby atmos 7.1 soundbar, plus its super smooth an barely any delays.
I think its still good value if your a apple fan or non apple fan apple tv is great but the price and remote still gives it problems and the unique options it has compared to roku, chromecast, etc does make it difficult to choose which is best for you

I purchased 3 Apple TV’s to avoid having to pay monthly charges for my Optimum Altice boxes where I can use the Optimum App instead. The Apple TV is so much more functional and works great with my Apple devices - I am so happy I made the decision to buy them. They were well worth the extra premium I had to pay to pick them up. Even if you don’t have Optimum, consider buying these devices if you are an Apple device user (iPhone, Mac, iWatch, etc…), or if you like a device that is well put together and works well.

Apple TV for projector

We got the Apple TV for our projector. Apple TV made our projector work as if it was a smart TV so we had apps etc. Our projector is 4k and we have Sonos surround sound that requires movies in Dolby Atmos in order to hear the full effects. Most of the other steaming platforms do not have movies in 4k and Dolby Atmos. Apple TV allowed access to tons of 4k movies in Dolby atmos. It also allowed us to download the remote to our phone so we don’t really use the handheld remote. I do think it is a bit pricey for what it is.

The best investment I’ve made in years. At the time I was still paying for cable. Now I only pay my streaming service which is about a 1/3 of the price of cable. Also, please make sure you buy the geek squad insurance, as lightning struck near my house during a storm (older house/older wiring) and burnt up the first one. The insurance replaced it at no cost. Just make sure to call in advance and make sure that they’ll make the exchange at Best Buy or if they’ll send you to an Apple Store like they did me.

Works great! I have a LG smart TV and for some reason, they don’t support the ESPN app. I got this Apple TV and can use any app I want and everything I stream is great 4k quality. 10/10 recommend, especially if you don’t have a smart TV. It also has a gray remote that is slightly thicker than the original Apple TV remote which makes it easier to keep track of.

After using the in-tv apps, we made the decision to get an apple tv to make the experience much more seamless. You can download all the apps that usually come on smart tvs like Netflix, Tubi, Disney+ and not worry about the studdering and glitchy interface on the smart tvs. Definately an upgrade and would recommend to those who wish to have a better user experience.

Barring the fact I own an iPad, for years I have tried my best to not get sucked into the Apple ecosystem. I stayed away from their iPhone products along with their iMacs. I never thought I would be swayed over with the 2021 Apple TV 4K. I must say (as a physical media enthusiast) I MAY now be switching over to fully digital. When browsing my redeemed physical disc on iTunes, I noticed that all my titles opened with the same Home Screen as the actual Blu-ray Disc which includes the special features. On top of that, the titles display in full 4.4.4. Chroma (albeit 8-Bit) with excellent color gradients.=
Such a great product and the excellent video and audio fidelity. I initially purchased the latest Chromecast with Google TV and while it was inexpensive, it had frame rate issues (Would cause a image skip every 30 or so seconds). Also all the most important streaming apps seem to work at their maximum potential when running off the Apple TV. I 1000% recommend this product.

I love this machine for watching HDR movies from my Plex server, way less hassle than my Nvidia Shield TV. I also love how much work goes into each app compared to Android TV. I love being able to have a real legit app for Floatplane videos and casting my screen from my iPhone is super easy.
