I bought these cameras after seeing so many good (older) rating reviews and figured what the heck - I’ll pay a premium for quality. Well, three problems exist with these cameras that made me return them today. First, the video compression is horrible for recorded clips and live viewing. Meaning that the picture might look sharp for one second, and then pixelated the next. I never received a constant sharp picture which without would make details worthless during a crime investigation. Second, these cameras can’t tell the difference between a tree and a person. I live on the Gulf Coast and experience a casual, but constant breeze which makes plants and tree branches sway a lot. These cameras kept recording any little movement from Nature, even though I set “smart notifications” to record “only” people or cars. Third, because these cameras keep recording pointless stuff - the batteries drain fast. Even adjusting the settings for sensitivity did not help. Lots of people online who share the same issues have also noted that their experience with Arlo customer support has been horrific and that their systems had once performed better in the past, but not anymore. Perhaps a bad firmware update or something. The only thing I give Arlo credit for is a user friendly App and a simple install experience.

These cameras hold a charge. Picture quality is great!!

Love the ease of use with arlo, but not terribly pleased with video quality. Definition on faces is not real clear... would be difficult to identify an intruder. Wish it were better, but at this price point, not bad.

Night Vision range inadequate for any outdoor installation at only 25 Ft-Useless Snow on the ground also whites the image out at any brightness setting Most features like zone trigger are extra $$-not good for anybody on budget looking to protect themselves-you could buy a second system for what they charge monthly and at least have more video coverage of your property Outside mountings and fixed power cables are all options at extra $$ Resolution and zoom are good with Pro 2 I can walk in front of cameras and they may or may not trigger with sensitivity set at max Notifications sent 2-3 minutes after capture...too late to call police especially if the intruder is inside already Bottom line-this is an indoor baby watching system only and not real outdoor/indoor security system I would look at something else as this is no where the quality I have seen in no name systems- I thought NetGear was top notch but not in this case

Good cameras. Wish there wasn’t a cap of 5 cameras on the free service. As much as they cost, and if someone is willing to pay for more of their cameras, it shouldn’t have such a low cap. It’s not like they give more than 7 days of free recording on the free trial. You have to make more accounts if you want more cameras and to stay on the free subscription package.

quick and simple installation. good overall user experience, but i prefer cameras that have continuous recording, which would need to be plugged in 24/7 (not battery operated).

I'm an e-tard, so bear in mind this is probably all on me. The app on my android hasn't been working up to snuff when i'm gone, and it doesn't help that Arlo itself changed the format/app itself. one of the cameras never did work when charged, so we've always had to use it plugged in. Should've taken it back right away, I guess, but the household always has us busy. Still, what it does do is cool and important. I especially like the picture at night (infrared?) being nearly as good as in daylight. Seemed to cost more than what I'd heard others say such things run.
