This system was so easy to set up I can't believe it. The motion detection is great and so is the night vision. The setting for motion detection sensitivity is wonderful. Highly recommended.

Took more time to choose this system than it did to set up. Wanted a wireless system that could record for when I was traveling or to see what the "kids" were up to when we were not at home. Glad I made this choice. Had one issue when the temperature went below zero F, could not contact camera, but only happened once during a two week stretch of cold weather. I had seen this comment before during my research and was a little concerned, but not so much that I wouldn't hesitate to purchase. Some arming functionality could be improved (would like to have one of the four cameras on motion record all of the time), but overall it is perfect for my application.

I purchased the Arlo - Pro HD Wire-Free Security Camera System (4-Pack) to monitor my front and back doors, but to be honest, I really wanted to watch my dog when we are not at home. This system was SOOO easy to set up. Just plugged it into my router, installed the batteries, and I was up and running. It's that easy!!! The system saves video to "the cloud" for 7 days FREE, but I can also purchase more storage if ever decide I need more. Each camera can be controlled for movement sensitivity, and can do Push Notifications to your phone from 1 or all cameras. Video quality is perfect in the day-time, and the night-vision is good too. Yes, I recommend the Arlo - Pro System.

Bought these to supplement my outdated camera systems from my alarm company. Simple setup. Great app. I also love that you get rolling 7 days of monitoring without the need for a subscription.

I purchased the Ring first then realized it had a monthly fee. What?! Gave that as a present. Bought Arlo. 4 cameras. Works great except it doesn't kick on quickly enough. Someone comes to my door and all I get video of is the top of their head or the back of their head as they walk away. Also, I can't get it to record more than 16 seconds of time. Pretty dang useless if you ask me. $650 for 16 seconds of someone's head.

Bought this system to keep a child from being able to sneak out anymore. I have it setup with with 3 cameras inside the house and one outside with the solar panel attached. I bought this system to go with my existing Netgear networking products and my experience with them. They have not disappointed. The video clarity is great and the range is very good also. I opted for the premier plan with Arlo and like the options I got with that. Also, the fact that i can give access to others without having to pay for it great. I am very happy with my purchase and would very highly recommend to others.

Overall, nice system. Easy to use interface, easy set up. However, my issue is with the motion detection range. I placed a camera outside on a 2nd story balcony overlooking a parking area; but unfortunately the only motion that activates the camera are the cars passing by. People are to small or just out of range to trip the system which totally defeats my purpose. Also, the speaker volume is very low. Although this is a known issue, there is no immediate fix.

    Useless...for me

So for me this is useless. I bought the new Arlo Pro, 4 camera kit so I could monitor my property outside. I didn't want to have to change the batteries all the time so I looked for a cord for it. The cords only are available if you buy a battery for $50. Seriously? Huge scam Netgear. Even though the cord is a standard usb phone type charge cord, when I tried to use a non-Netgear cord, it told me “sorry, you need our $50 cord”. Wow! Then I realized that when you use a cord, they are no longer weather proof. So there goes that idea.. Then I looked into all the accessories and stuff and by the time I was done it was all just crazy expensive (over $1000+). Then I starting using the cameras. They are not that good. Quality is fair at best. Not only that, its not like a regular camera that is always on, they only record when there is motion and there is a delay from when it senses motion to when it turns on and records and it only records for a few seconds then shuts off again. So if you want to catch your neighbor stealing your shovel, forget it, this can't do it. What good is a system that can't just record live, like in a convenience store? No good, at least not for me. I have a $50 baby monitor that performs better and more reliably than this camera system. This one loses connection to my internet sometimes for no reason; its not too far away and nothing in the way or jamming signal. You can click on a camera in the app and watch live video for a while but eventually that times out. These were not what I thought. I ended up returning the whole kit and caboodle and got my over $1000 back.. CCTV is the way to go I guess. Maybe someday someone will smarten up and make a system that does what needs to be done cheaper than $3000-$5000 CCTV. Netgear website says Arlo Q plus and Arlo Q are for indoors. As far as the cord, I understand that your cord is a fast charge cord and that you want people to use only your cord, and that is fine, but why won't you sell them by themselves? I'm forced to buy a $50 battery that I don't need just to get a cord! If the Arlo Q/+ has software that will monitor/record 24/7, the Arlo pro software should have that option as well. Let the consumer have the options, and let them worry about battery life. When you plug a cord into the Arlo Pro, it’s no longer weather proof, therefore useless for outdoor use, that to me is a huge design flaw. Why not make it so end users have the option to go wireless or not, to use AC power or not. Not a very well thought out product or marketing plan. For the money you are asking, we deserve better. Keep trying though; I do usually favor Netgear products. Maybe the Arlo Plus Extreme (2nd generation) will come with a cord for each camera and still be weather proof using a cord, and its software let you monitor/record 24/7.

This is my first camera system ever purchased and I have say it’s pretty good. The magnet mounts are really strong hold the camera tight in place. Now the only think I find annoying would be the battery life, when I first installed it the battery lasted almost three weeks. After the first charge I would need to charge them once a week. So that’s why it gets a 4 star rating. Besides that connection and installation was quick and easy, and the app is simple to navigate.

If you're looking for something that doesn't require a monthly service fee, then this may be the camera set-up for you. The app doesn't always work perfectly, but it works pretty well. Geofencing activating on multiple devices throws it for a loop. Also recording the entire time there's movement doesn't always happen. Both of those issues can be overcome if you arm the system when your gone manually and/or have the system record all the time and not just when movement is detected. Overall it's a good product.
