Solid but unimpressive

Her requirements are pretty basic and that is what this Asus laptop is: basic. It operates fine, though it seems to take longer to show HD video than her old computer. It was irritating that the computer comes with a bunch of trial software, including antivirus software that prevents operation of the free Windows Defender software that comes with the OS.
