    nice laptop for its price

The laptop has 1TB disk space which is plenty for most users. It is pre-installed with WINDOWS 10 so you don't have the issues associated with an upgrade. The keyboard feels solid and good to the touch. When the fan runs, it makes a little noticing sound. The audio system is quite good, when I play music it sounds great.

The computer is overall good for the $. I was able to get it $237 on a Best Buy Deal. It meets my needs for regular surfing, videos, music and activities. But I have come across a few issues with it not being able to open up the internet (not a connection issue) and shutting down, the computer will just continually go through shut down process. Issues are few and far between though and I'am happy with the look and feel of the computer.

I am very impressed with this computer, it meeds all my needs without the expensive price, I just ditched my expensive laptop which always had issues for this one and I am so glad I did, its very easy to use and its not to big and bulky like my previous laptop. It even has bluetooth, love it!

Good value for the cost...trying to get used to a different laptop takes time, tho. missing my back lit keyboard when it's dark - and the keys are further apart...and the sensitivity to accidentally 'tapping' a command happens frequently...lots to look at on the screen.. maybe too much...Moving back and forth between this laptop and my old one in order to be able to do some of my business stuff quickly enough...while getting acclimated/learning about this one. I like the bigger screen.

It is what it is .... a cheap computer

I bought this computer and had it for one week. Overall, the build quality felt cheap as they used very low quality, hollow plastic . The Fn keys were defaulted to the traditional use for a function key and not the secondary use. There was no way to switch this around. I spent a week scouring the internet, tried every combination of holding keys and even checked the bios. If you like having to use two hands to turn up the volume or increase the brightness or skip to the next song, this is the computer for you. The charger was cheap as well and wasn't grounded. The adapter is bulky too, so it can prevent you from plugging other devices in. The battery is not removable, so I suppose if it goes bad, the computer would need to be taken apart to have it replaced. Battery life was low, maybe 3.5 hours at best with moderate usage. Screen had poor viewing angles, too. This is a cheap computer, I get it, but you can find a higher quality cheap computer with the same exact specs from HP. That's what I did. I exchanged it out.

I bought this computer to replace my 4 year old Toshiba Satellite that kicked the bucket. I had read good reviews on this laptop and went to my local Best Buy to buy it. I only owned it a few days when it started freezing up on the start up password screen. I tried everything to unfreeze it. Hours later it decided to work again. Now the screen flashes periodically and it turns the internet connection off and on. I will be returning to the store tomorrow.

Very Good Computer for the Price

Using it for basic computing needs but moves smoothly and doesn't get hung up processing multiple applications at the same time. Browsing is smooth and overall a good computer. The actual laptop design layout with the keyboard seems to have too much front room but it's workable.

I bought this laptop for my 12 year old daughter to replace her old Inspiron 15. It is a decent laptop out of the box. However, I highly recommend two upgrades to make this a great bargain laptop. I upgraded the RAM from 4 GB to 8GB and added a cheap 120 GB SSD. The combined cost of the RAM and SSD was $75 dollars. The laptop now boots into the Windows 10 login screen in less than 10 seconds. The installation is definitely not for someone that doesn't know their way around a computer but there is a YouTube video that shows the steps involved. It also runs Minecraft pretty well which my daughter is also excited about.

Great out of the box but upgrading is a question

Have no issues with performance or quality of the device out of the box or after use. Super light and quiet, performs well on or off the charger. My issue is with upgrading memory and I've gone through 4 DIMMs with no luck. ASUS support gave me the right part number and specs but despite my attempts, no joy in upgrading to 8GB of RAM. Be wary if you want more than the standard memory config.

I was buying this for my mom but decided to keep it for myself because it exceeded my expectations. For the price I bought, it's pretty much a steal. It can do everything I throw at it quietly and smoothly. The only downside is the clunky and noisy mouse pad. A great buy if you can get it on sale nonetheless.

I love the size of the computer. I think it has a good design for cooling the laptop and runs cool! It is easy to carry around. On the left side of the screen there is a small part of the screen that gets distorted when I move the lid, then it returns to normal. The whole touch-pad is the mouse so when you press the buttons the mouse can move, not a good touch-pad design.

This is a very nice computer. The layout of the computer is nice, and the keyboard comfortable to use. It has good speed, and is easy to set up. I chose this one because of the specs and the reviews. The only problem that I had is that this computer is a little heavier than I need at this time. Otherwise, it is an excellent buy.

    Slow, and overall unimpressive

Why I bought the computer: I needed something cheap to get me through my last semester of college and last until I went to grad school next year. What I use it for: School projects (Microsoft Office, research), Internet browsing, streaming (Netflix, Hulu) Pros: 1) Okay for the price 2) Quick start up 3) Light weight Cons: 1) Laptop is slow to connect to internet, even to connections that are set up to automatically connect. It takes about 4 minutes to find an internet connection each start up. 2) Smart Gesture Touch Pad is a nightmare. It is generally unresponsive to one-finger taps, so therefore you have to use the traditional clicking mechanism - which is clunky and loud. Two finger taps for scrolling and zooming are just as bad. It constantly zooms when I just want to scroll, and there's no way to shut zooming off. 3) Arrow keys are between the letter keys and the number keys and don't have a groove - so it becomes quite easy to hit the 0 key instead of an arrow key. 4) USB/HDMI ports are really stiff - I have to basically shove the connector into the laptop. 5) Regardless of the outlet, the laptop charger constantly becomes unplugged. Summary: If you are looking for something cheap and are okay with using a traditional mouse with your laptop, you'll probably be okay.
