Good laptop, good build, beware of upgradibility

This laptop has a great build quality, handles heat very well, and is makes very little to no noise. If you are worried about storage or thinking about upgrading, please don't get this laptop. I thought I could replace the hdd, and man was I wrong. The hdd is well buried underneath ribbon cables and somewhat encased well into the laptop, which would be a big headache to replace. The only feasible thing would be to upgrade the ssd, of which is in a m.2 slot.
Getting into it first off, each rubber feet has a screw underneath it, so be careful with that.
Got this bad boy at 800$, 1050 - 100 (sale) - 150 (student), so was definitely worth :)

I purchased this laptop for my son who will be attending college this fall. It is fast and easy to use. One of the reasons we picked this laptop was because of the memory available and the price. Overall very pleased with this product.

Laptop is fast with a responsive chiclet keyboard. Keyboard travel/ touch is one of the reasons I purchased this over other models along with the 16gb of RAM, despite only a 256gb SSD. At around 4 lbs it’s too heavy to be portable by my standards but I don’t need it when traveling or commuting, so it’s fine for use at home. Battery life so far is decent however it does get quite hot on the lap. A student might want something smaller and lighter. The larger screen makes spreadsheet and document creation easier. The screen colors are not rated as up to standard for Adobe Photoshop so while they look pretty good to the naked eye, I wouldn’t buy this for photo editing. I will be doing some hobby level editing and the RAM is plenty for PS and Lightroom but I’ll check color on a different monitor. The trackpad is responsive with a good finish for easy movement. I didn’t need the numeric keyboard and after a couple of weeks I’m still having trouble getting used to the slightly different placement of the backspace and delete keys due to the numeric keypad .
Even though it’s a 15.6” screen the whole laptop is only about 3/8” wider overall than my 2016 14” laptop, thanks to a smaller bezel; however it’s not so thin that the screen is likely to break, like on HP laptops without a bezel that had many reports (and it happened to me) of spontaneous cracks along the top edge by the camera. (I will never buy HP again because their warranties are useless: they refused to accept responsibility for the many reported hairline cracked screens on that model, and also tried to get out of replacing a failed hard drive (finally sent it but would not cover labor); refused to replace a different dead screen and a dead printer.) Hopefully Asus has better build quality and customer service. I think this will serve my needs for the next 3-4 years.

This is my second Asus. This one replaces a nine year old one.
This new one is faster--it keeps up with my typing. I do a lot of studying for my sermons on line. I love the touch screen because I can enlarge the pages of the books I read which makes it easier on my 74 year old eyes.
One key reason I decided on this model is the 1TB hard drive. I no longer need to use thumb drives.
The key board has a light touch, with full size keys. Great to type on.
It is easy to carry as I travel.
This computer was on sale and worth every dollar.

This laptop is the best laptop I have ever purchased! I purchased this laptop in the beginning of the pandemic and I got switched to working from home I needed a computer that could handle 10+ Programs I use at the same time to get the job done. I am so happy with my purchase and about a year later the computer has not failed me. IT is still supersonic speed and I am able to fully work with no glitches or no issues of slowing down. This computer is hands down the best computer I have ever purchased and would purchase again If I needed too.

Great system but not for my needs

Great laptop for the most part. However, after considering price points between this system and the ASUS - 15.6" 4K Ultra HD Touch-Screen Gaming Laptop - Intel Core i7 - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 - 1TB SSD - Gun Gray. It was more economically feasible for me to go with the 4K UHD Laptop. I returned his laptop in an exchange.
Pros:
This system runs excellent for its intended purposes. The specs will serve various needs any where from business, photo editing and video editing. Just based on specs, it can handle pretty much anything you through at it. I am personally a Lenovo consumer but I wanted to give Asus a shot. I am a reborn Asus consumer now. Overall, this laptop is simply a solid great build to say the least. Esthetically, it looks clean and solid. Both computers I am mentioning have an Intel Core i7-10510U CPU @ 1.80GHz (Excellent)!
Cons:
This is coming more from a value proposition. As mentioned, I exchanged this computer for the ASUS - 15.6" 4K Ultra HD Touch-Screen Gaming Laptop - Intel Core i7 - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 - 1TB SSD - Gun Gray instead.
Reason being is a couple of reasons:
Price: $1,249
ASUS - 15.6" Touch-Screen Laptop - Intel Core i7 - 16GB Memory - 1TB Hard Drive + 128GB Solid State Drive - Gun Gray
128GB of SDD
1TB HDD (Seagate)
FHD
On board video card (GPU cannot be upgraded).
I prefer more SSD and could really care less about HDD. Argument aside, I just prefer SSD as a personal preference. Lately, Seagate in my opinion has been been a favorable or reliable brand. But I also get they have to keep the cost down. Not a proponent.
Price: $1,299
ASUS - 15.6" 4K Ultra HD Touch-Screen Gaming Laptop - Intel Core i7 - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 - 1TB SSD - Gun Gray instead.
1TB of SDD (Intel M.2. with Optane).
4K Ultra HD (Intel UHD Graphics)
Video card is an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 with Max-Q Design (Discrete) It is upgradable and has 4MB of GPU
Comparatively speaking, I would simply recommend going with the 4K model. It just makes better since. But, if you looking to save a little than this laptop is an excellent choice.

Great product for a student. The ease of the touch screen that folds down into a tablet has been fantastic. I’m so glad I took the leap and switched from Apple. It handles so well, the keyboard and trackpad is smooth, and it’s lighter than I imagined it would be compared to my previous MacBook Air. The pen has really helped me with using Adobe products or creating other tedious assignments. There’s great features hidden everywhere that Apple just does not have. Overall, fantastic purchase.

I have had this laptop for just about one month now and so far I absolutely LOVE IT. One of the features (there are many) I love the most is the touch screen. I love the smooth, sleek design. The screen is crystal clear and the right size for me at just over 15 inches. The battery so far does hold a good 8+ hours on a single charge. I am an adult learner who is taking online and in-seat classes and this laptop was just what I needed to be able to do all of my classwork plus engage in social media, catch up on headlines. It supports Microsoft, Google Chrome. I am pretty pleased with my purchase.

This thing is a MACHINE! Highly recommend!
I upgraded from a 6 year old Lenovo Yoga, and I'm SO pleased with my new laptop! The touch screen is perfect, the screen itself is beautiful, the speakers are loud, and this laptop is really fast!
I'm overall very pleased with this much-needed upgrade, the only negative I've really noticed so far is that the touch pad can either be over-sensitive or it doesn't pick up that I'm clicking, which can be frustrating.

Zoom zoom Covid 19

Zoom zoom. The kids are on the family computers constantly now. Children and parents used to share computers and got by, but now with the kids' homework taking 16 - 18 hours per day online, no chance for us parents to use computers. A lot of homework for high school. Shopped around for price conscious computers with 16 GB RAM memory and above, 15" display touch screen, adequate hard drive size, USB plugs, etc. Settled on this one, hope it is reliable and will last for a few years. So far so good, the children are happy we don't interrupt their school work, just so we can reply to emails, online banking, etc.

This new laptop is replacing one that I had for about 18 months. I needed something with more speed and ease and just something to make my life easier.
This Asus worked its magic on me only five minutes out of the box. So easy to set up and use. So fast. This laptop is a keeper and will work wonders with my new camera editing - it's that powerful.
Very lightweight. Turns on in seconds. This is a premium laptop but worth every penny spent. I am so much in love with it as well.

I bought this laptop as a tool for engineering school and have not been disappointed. Maybe not as fast as you would expect with the solid state drive, but still very time-efficient nonetheless. I've run drafting programs like AutoCAD and Civil 3D with no problems (its important to note that I haven't tried any 3D drafts yet and did experience a small bit of lag when I had several drawings open). I've also run very formula heavy excel sheets with no problems at all; this thing is the fastest computer I've ever worked on. Being able to fold the laptop is also handy on a small desk (I never thought I'd use this feature but now it is one of my favorites) and it is lightweight so carrying it in a backpack is no problem. I think it is a bit pricey for the product you receive but it has been a worth it investment and helped me get back to my work as if my old laptop never stopped running. I love it.

I bought this laptop for my 5th grader to do virtual school. Other than good reviews, three factors drew me to this computer.
1. Screen size (because I have poor eye sight and will be helping my son, so a big screen is necessary)
2. Touch screen to help my special needs child use it more easily.
3. Number pad on the keyboard which is nice to have, but not a deal breaker.
I've been very happy with it so far, with just a couple of small exceptions which can be helped easily. This is my first new laptop in almost a decade, so I'm enjoying all the newer tech features. I've never owned an ASUS so I'm trusting reviews and tech pros on quality. I will update this review if my opinion changes in the future.
Pros -
-Screen is very nice and touch screen works great
-Sound and camera is good on video meetings
-Number pad on keyboard is very nice to have
-Feels sturdy and well put together
-Folds to stand up or folds completely over backward to function like a tablet. Works very well
-I love, love, love the keyboard. The sound and squishiness of the keys makes it easy to type.
- Some reviews mentioned a loud fan, but it's been very quiet for me. It hardly comes on, but even when it does, it's very quiet. I've been used to an Apple MacBook which had a VERY Loud fan which came on often and the heat of it was unbearable. This computer is very cool compared to the Macbook.
Cons
- as other reviews have mentioned, battery drains a little on the fast side. Not a problem for me as I will always be near an outlet.
- also as others have mentioned, the cursor for the touchpad just disappears quite often. I like the touchpad, but having to constantly look for the cursor is a pain. I can just use the touch screen to place my cursor, or I'll just get a wireless mouse.
Overall very happy with this new purchase.

Very well made laptop. The Touchscreen is a much needed feature for me because I don't always want to use a mouse and the laptop switches to a touchpad as well. Great sound from the Harman/kardon speakers (arguably the best speakers imo) and also very lightweight and portable but not so small that you cramp your fingers trying to type. I have big hands, and the number helps to "lengthen" the laptop to have more space.

My last laptop was the Asus and i loved everything about it. I really did not want to buy a new one, but after several years I figured it was about time.
I looked for the newer Asus model and found this one. It is very much like my old one, but of course better. The pricing for this model - with the bells and whistles (16GB Memory, 1TB hard Drive, Solid State Drive is very reasonable.
The laptop was very easy to set up and get it running. Pretty much turn it on. Very easy to use and I especially like the facial recognition it has to get into the laptop. Great security feature that was added.
This newer model is lighter and thinner than my previous laptop. This is also a great feature. If I need to take it with on a trip, it will be much easier to handle.
I have Comcast for my internet and with my previous model I could not access my 5G for faster speed. This Asus model I CAN access my 5G and the speed is unbelievable. Lovin it!!
I've had this laptop for three months and so far I am completely pleased and very glad I decided to upgrade.

I bought this pc to use in my college courses. I am doing a lot of coding and programming and this thing is super fast. The battery life is pretty decent, but not as good as the macbook pro I am switching over from. The SSD is small, but plenty big enough if most files (word documents, PDF's, etc.) are stored on the 1TB hard drive and the SSD is used to boot and run applications. I am expecting this thing to last me a loooonnnggg time, so it was worth the extra money up front.
