Problems after problems
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought laptop early in the year and have had to take it in 5 times for software and hardware issues. Aside from the issues not being fixed and keep recurring, I've had terrible experience with the service at geek squad. Issue with my laptop started with the power button being broken and being fixed 2+ times. The screen often acts up with ghost touches, screen flickering or completely goes dark. The keyboard often freezes or stops working completely. The response time for commands takes longer than it should. Time and date changes by itself every day. The graphics card doesn't work. It takes about a month to get it fixed and back to me so technically speaking I've only used it for 12 days out of the year.

Terrible Laptop PC (ASUS)
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've always been cautioned by professional IT people I trust to not buy a PC at BestBuy. This is my first and last laptop purchase from a big box retailer and off-brand manufacturer (ASUS). Problems right out of the box. Locks up for no reason all the time. SLOW. Power button positioned in the most senseless location (side front edge, right where you naturally grab when you're working on your laptop).

not bad
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ok... did my research. Wanted a 2 in 1. From everything out there, this is the fastest 2 in 1 you can get at the moment for under 900$. Its got the non integrated nvidia 940m gpu, in which is the key reason I went for it. Everything out there under 900$ has a intel integrated gpu. If you dont know, non integrated gpu cards are way better for video and pic programs like photoshop or cad programs. Its a must. Out the box this worked flawless! Wifi connected instantly. I ran benchmarks and incredibly this has beat my main system in which was a beast 10 years ago. It has a q6600 quadcore with 16gigs of ram with a radeon 8970 gpu. Build for rendering and animation. Well..... this under 900$ asus beat it and runs 4 times faster! I was blown away! So you cant go wrong with this and it has a cd/dvd drive to boot! Lololol. Im very happy. Oh.... i noticed its over 1000$ now, well the sale was awesome. Grabbed it for only 899.99$.

Pass on this one
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a disposable computer that I could use on business trips to read email and keep up with my Ham Radio Projects. This computer lasted about 10 hours before it completely bricked. The only saving grace was that it was within 30 days of purchase so Best Buy refunded my money.

Great laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this a little over a month ago and it's been working pretty well. Can run most games that I play and haven't had any hiccups. I tend to forget it's a touchscreen, but I remind myself to test it once in a while and it's still working fine. The only reason why I give it 4 stars is because of the volume key on the side which I understand it's meant for when it's in tablet mode. I wish it would only activate then instead of normal laptop use. I would have preferred the power button to be above the keyboard rather than the side. I will say the power life was a bit finicky and wouldn't decide how many hours it would last regardless of tweaking power settings. Lastly, this laptop is a fingerprint magnet which is the most annoying part personally. Other than that, good purchase overall.

Not as expected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.1- I requested notebook that is ready to run virtual machines, I expected to have OS ready, but instead the Laptop came with W10 home. 2- most of the time the laptop keeps shutting down with blue-screen error upon powering it up.

Glitchy and lousy computer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This computer turned out to be the exact opposite as what was advertised by the sales associate. The loading is slow, the programs glitch. The screen flickers back every couple minutes.

Just what I naaded & more!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a control systems programmer for home automation systems. Gaming PCs work great for the software I use as they are graphic intensive. I really didn't need the touch screen & 2 in 1, but now that I've used those features I'm hooked. It's very fast & for first time with Win 10 I'm adjusting fast. Looks great, solid build & usb c along with the other specs will keep it current for my programming needs. I found the price dropped $50 this morning (bought last night) & online chat said I could get a price match within 15 days in store! number pad is VERY useful for my needs. Once I finish loading all my work software I'm taking this thing Zombie Hunting ;)

Double check
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Now, this computer is nice. I really like it but I have returned it once for Phantom touch out of the box. The second one I got has an issue with the dvd drive and it does not close without putting sufficient force when closing it. I am debating to return it since it is only the dvd drive but I am unsure because I like everything else. I am not sure if I am just unlucky or if it is quality control issue. Besides those two issues, it is a good laptop.

Great Laptop.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this laptop on Friday 3/18/2016. Right out of the box it connected to my wireless with no issues, was able to transfer all the data from my old laptop to the new one and installed all my usual apps. This thing is fast and works great. I am not doing any gaming or anything like that, but for my uses it is stable and I haven't had any issues. I just wish I had picked it up the first time I saw it in NJ on a work trip. They had it on sale for $870 and I waited till I got home and made the purchase at the current price of $1,049 with 5% back.

So far so good!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My initial thoughts on this notebook is that it's very well made. It feels sturdy, and is a hair heavier than what I was expecting. That doesn't stop me from enjoying using the device, it just will take a bit of acclimation. This will be my second Asus, and I love the brand. Screen- Marvelous. I've only had this laptop, as of now, for 2 full days and I haven't put it through the stressors of Photoshop or anything of that matter, but I like what I'm seeing so far. Highly adjustable, gets very bright and actually rather dim too, which is a plus if you're using it at night or in a dark room. Keyboard- Nothing marvelous, but most definitely serviceable. It's much like my old Asus, so it took little to no time for me to get used to the layout. The backlit keys are new to me, and I wish they had more adjustability, but there IS 4 settings: Off, Low, Medium and High. Tablet mode- I don't like it, but I am also new to Windows 10, and I'm relatively sure that this is a personal preference as well as a OS thing, nothing to do with the laptop. Speed- Nothing I've thrown at it thus far has bogged it down. Body- As mentioned, it is a fingerprint magnet, but with the small microfiber it came with, they're mostly banished. I'm sure some multi-surface that's safe for this would be most helpful. Speakers- Clear and decently loud, lacking in bass. But for built-in speakers, there's nothing I can complain about. Webcam- Serviceable, but nothing to write home about. If you're wanting HD quality, you'll want to get a separate one. Optical (DVD) Drive- I haven't yet tested it. Overall-- This seems like a very good investment, and I've no doubts that if maintained it will last. I'll come back and update once I've gathered more of information and more of an opinion.

1 week old and Geek Squad has worked on it 2x
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Alright, I'm pretty ticked off with this product. I'm a grad student and I don't need much from a laptop. I need to be able to (1) use Microsoft Office, (2) check my email, (3) search for journal articles on Google Scholar, and (4) run stats in R. Very simple, I really don't need much. I bought this because it's aluminum, so it should hopefully last longer without pieces breaking. In the past my Sony laptops have lasted about 4 years, but plastic bits break off from taking it in and out of my backpack every day. The employee who recommended this laptop said it should easily last 4 years without any problems. Problems- 1. As a heads up, fingerprints show up horribly on it. I've tried wiping it down without much success. 2. The power button is in a terrible location. I accidentally bumped it once and it put the computer to sleep. I couldn't wake it back up so I had to do a hard restart. 3. The other things I could deal with, but this is the major issue: the graphics driver software. Just being on the Internet causes the screen to black out and then I get a notification about a driver issue. I had Geek Squad remote access it and "fix" the problem, but 24 hours later it started happening again. I contacted Geek Squad again who told me I needed to take it in to the store because they can't fix it remotely if it didn't work the first time. So now, I'm without a computer while they try to fix it at the store. It's brand new- why is there a problem already (that based on previous reviews is happening to others as well)????? Honestly, I would return it for a different one if I hadn't already paid to put MS office and Antivirus software on it. What a pain. I'm heartbroken Sony stopped producing laptops because if this is what I'm in for, I'm not impressed.

Awesome
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.WOW! That is about all I can say. This machine has been rockin and rollin from the minute I took it out of the box. Unbelievably fast and reliable. I would highly recommend this machine to anyone and everyone who is looking at getting a new laptop. Of course when I bought this it was on sale for $899, so that makes this machine even more better.

Useless in 2023 unles its been upgraded to SSD
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.laptop was great while it lasted. I had purchased it for music production. But the fact that it had regular hard drive made it worse than it is after a couple of years. It would take for ever to boot up. 3 years later the battery also wouldnt hold a charge. So i removed the cd/dvd drive, purchased a adopter from ebay and replcaced it with a 2 TB samsung SSD , replaced the battery, and the regular 2TB hard drive. Now its almost as fast as my custom built pc. It boots up in seconds.
