Lot of Potential Limited by HDD

This computer has a great processor and a decent graphics card. The RAM is plenty enough for laptop multitasking needs and runs Adobe Lightroom smoothly. The issue is the HDD speed. This computer would be amazing with a faster HDD or SSD. Not that it is terribly slow, I was just expecting better for a new computer.

Good computer, Brian and Rob at Gainesville, FL store were great answering all our questions and fears. showing us what to do when starting it up, etc. we use it for guitar music programs ie: riff and photograpy work. very happy thinking about getting a second for the other house members

So far it has been an awesome machine. Runs smooth. The display is clear and easily adjustable (brightness). The light up keyboard is a nice option as well. I'm still getting used to Windows 10 but its not too hard once you start using it. The downside is that it is a bit heavy to try and use as a tablet but I expected that when I purchased it. Other than that, very happy with price, service, and product.

This laptop is very fast and powerful. The display is clear and bright which is excellent for graphic work. Editing very large photo files while other programs are running in the background is no problem for it. The touchscreen is a great feature that I use a lot. The aluminum case looks good and feels quite well made. I put in an SSD which speeds things up even more. Very happy with it.

I am writing this review my first night with this baby so things might change but right now, I love it. I just wanted to write a review on this model because I think it deserves a higher rating than what it has now.

So, this is my second asus laptop. The first laptop i bought was Q552UB-BHI7T12. Had great specs and was 2in1. The first day I got it I had black screen issues and from time to time I would have the display driver not responding error message pop up. So best buy deemed it defective, so I got a lemon. So whatever I stuck with ASUS and got another laptop. This laptop Q553UB-BSI7T13, is the upgraded version of the previous one I was told. So after waiting again to get my laptop, this one after an hour use I got the display driver message again!!!!!!!. Now getting worse black screen and lagging. I havent yet filled the laptop up with programs or played and any games yet. Only microsoft office and some pictures and I will watch netflix sometime. Very disappointed that I spent $200 more the second time and still not happy. I think Im done with ASUS. I like the the flipback feature and the specs its just too much going through this issue the second time and I need a laptop.

    A bit disappointing

This my first laptop and hope to eventually replace my desktop tower. In general, the specs are great for amount paid. The ergonomics are nice for me. I wanted to have a DVD/CD so this bridged that gap nicely. I see the touch screen and the tablet mode as a bonus (not so much as an important feature). I was hoping the speed would be great but it seems, just OK, a bit better than my desktop but not as significant as I would have liked. It has Windows 10 home and the memory card is going wacky, sensing a new card over and over even though I haven't touched it. I work with support and they suggested many things but then eventually assumed the card reader has a HW problem and I needed to send it in to be fixed. Well, I am not doing that just for the card reader even though I use it a lot. I would consider myself an advanced user and almost a power user. But I cannot get the power setting to work as desired, either it sleeps forever, needing a hard reset, or it never sleeps or never locks. This could be a win 10 problem but I would think vendors like ASUS would also know about this. Support was no help here either. I seem to have difficulty with Bluetooth connects and some WIFI speed inconsistency even when the laptop is docked. The settings for the desktop are constantly being lost but I think this is all Windows fault - even Win7 and XP had this trouble but it is worse now especially when using a dock - a restart is need to save the settings. The screen and keyboard are great with a full num-pad (a must for me). I like the layout of the ports and buttons but I do seem to hit the power button by accident quite a bit. I haven't installed anything too unusual and have had several "blue" screens. Window 10 is a year old and they haven't solved these issue yet? I should probably give this laptop "3 stars" but I am a bit annoyed so far. I don't think there is necessarily a better choice in other brands. This one seems to top out at 12 GB ram but other have 16 GB. I don't think that is a limiting factor for me. Hope that future updates help. I like Win 10 mostly, but the growing pains are evident.

    Powerful hardware, poorly implemented.

I bought this computer from Best Buy in March 2016 after my Acer died (motherboard fried). I'm a graduate student, so I wanted to buy something that would last me for a while, and I figured that with the specs on this computer, it would do the job. After a few months with it, I'm not sure this will do the trick. Let's start with the pros: 1) Awesome hardware on board. Lots of storage. When I get the computer up and running, it's able to handle a lot of programs. I've run Lightroom and Photoshop at the same time and easily develop in both programs. Games are great too. 2) Beautiful screen. Lots of colors and a bright background. 3) The 2-in-1 is a nice feature, and this laptop handles it well. Even though it's a little large, it still manages to be a nice touchscreen. Cons: (Some of these are small annoying things, but they are persistent and I can't seem to find solutions to them online). 1) Takes a long time to start up. Even early on, it would take up to 10 minutes to go from off to usable, which is unacceptable for a modern computer. 2) Randomly changes time and date. Even though I have it set to automatically set time, it still will be off by an hour, two hours, or several days. No way to predict it and still unsure of what causes it. 3) Who puts the power button on the side of the computer? That's where most people pick it up. I've unintentionally put this computer to sleep countless times. 4) Sometimes, the touchscreen thinks I'm touching it when I'm not, which requires me to reboot, sometimes several times, before it's solved. Again, this computer has a lot of potential, and it may turn itself around and last longer than I'm expecting, but at this rate, I may have to replace it within the year. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it to a friend at this price, especially with competing computers that don't have theses simple issues.

Great laptop wish it had better graphics card

First bought this laptop paid $999.99 (that was regular price not sale price) for it and now it is on sell for$999.99 with 50$ of and instead of it being for $949.99 they raised the price to $1049.99 so it is the exact price I paid for It 2 weeks ago even though it is "on sale". I do love the laptop though great price for what it is and is fast and efficient I do wish that the bestbuy employee would have told me or atleast been more experienced on graphics cards for the laptop instead of telling me "Oh it has a decent graphics card it will run your games fine", come home and research and find out it is a lower end graphics card still good but not the greatest. Shame on me yes for not researching before I purchase but I did want a 2-in-1 laptop as well as a gaming laptop so I took it. Great laptop though love the 2-in-1 feature and graphics for my games are pretty good still. Overall highly satisfied with the laptop just wish graphics card was better, and the fact that I had to install an asus track pad driver to change the functions of the track pad I hate how the scrolling with the track pad is inverted.

Best Laptop I Ever Had, Asus Awesome!

First I am a Mac user, I own a MacBook Air. But I needed Windows to run different programs on it from my job that my Mac couldn't run. I went on Best Buy.com and read mostly all the reviews for each laptop. I google and search which brand is the best. Asus was one of the best laptop. I ran across this one and I love all the specs. I went to a Best Buy store and saw this laptop on display, from that moment I knew this was the one. So I bought it. I had it for a month now and I have to say this laptop is awesome!! It moves so smoothly, the screen is beautiful and I love love that the fan is quiet! I had a Toshiba laptop years ago and it was horrible. My Asus laptop won't be use a lot, it's mainly for work and school purposes. Sometimes I like to switch up and use my Mac. This laptop is a beast and I love it. Buy this, trust me you won't regret it! I never had any issue with this laptop.

    Great 2 in 1 laptop.

Pros: This is a great 2 in 1 Laptop. Does what it is supposed to do. Now with the current Windows update, it supports Windows Ink. Come with a 2 TB HDD, lighted keyboard. Got it to work with my old printer with a wireless connection. Once I found the printer disk, loaded the programs onto my computer and it prints and scans. Only problem is that when I press the scan button on the printer, the printer canmot find the computer to scan to the computer but it will scan to the computer, wirelessly, via the includede printer software. I do not know what poblem is here with scan button. Maybe it is that the printer need to be reset? Cons: Although it is a 2 in 1, the screen bend over but does not seperate. Does not come with a stylus or a slot to keep it in when it is not used. Too bad that this is a HDD instead of a SSD. The touck keyboard doe not automatically show up like with Android instead, you have to press the keyboard icon. I think that this happened with my 8.1 tablet too.

I've had this computer for several months. At first I was pleased. I need a ton of storage space and was looking for something that would last me some good years. For some reason this computer drops the internet connection frequently. There is no consistent time or activity that makes it stop. When this happens the other laptop in the house does have internet connection. It's well past the time to return it, so now I'm stuck with keep it and endure or spend money for another computer. The internet is also very slow. It takes quite a while when opening a page. This computer was $$ so for that amount I would expect these items to not be an issue.

I purchased this for my daughter who does a lot of gaming (WoW, Minecraft, etc...) but nothing extremely demanding. It had to be 2-in-1 as well and there aren't a lot of options out there with dedicated graphics card in the 1,000 range. I finally stumbled upon this and it was exactly what we were looking for. Very fast and plays all her games flawlessly. Had it for a few weeks now and not a single issue (after upgrading graphics driver) and she is super happy coming from a laptop with integrated graphics where all her games had to be set to lower quality. Sleek look and foldable with plenty of horsepower for the price.

I will start by saying that I've been an avid computer user for close to two decades. I know my way around computers, I hold multiple CompTIA Certs, and finishing my CCNA right now. This is the first ASUS laptop I've purchased, I have no issues with Asus GPU's my 980ti is fantastic. BUT Its been nothing but trouble with his machine, constant freezes which make you hard restart. random restarts during simple word document processes. not to mention the integrated gpu taking priority over the 940m even after selecting the 940m for dedicated use. I'm a gamer at heart, and didn't expect this to be a monster machine like my desktop, just something to play some low end games on when out of town. It doesn't even do that. games that I'm over spec'd for cant even run on low above 15-20 fps. I'm talking games that recommend a 750ti. a card that's years old. the best part is that I purchased this laptop TWO days ago! I honestly cannot even recommend this laptop for casual users, I've had way too many issues this close to purchase. TLDR: Serious issues since purchase (two days ago)

    Nice features but glitchy

I love a lot of things about this ASUS 2-in-1 laptop. The ability to use as a tablet w/ touchscreen or laptop with full keyboard is awesome. But my computer has some glitches. First is my Wi-Fi connection, which often just stops loading pages, even though the Wi-Fi says its connected and has a strong signal. This didn't happen with my old computer on the same network. The workaround is to just turn off Wi-Fi, then back on again. The second issue is more serious. The computer randomly shuts down. Not standby or hibernate. But off. Doesn't come back up with wiggle of mouse or touching screen. Quick press of the power button does not bring it to life. I have to hold the power button for 5 secs to force restart. Then all seems normal. Happens once or twice a week. I have been in contact with ASUS support and they want me to bring it to Geek Squad for service. But given the random nature of this, I doubt it can be duplicated by technician. Plus I hate to be without my computer, and dread the thought of having to reload all my software and data if it comes down to replacing the machine. Possibly these issues are caused by Windows 10 and not the computer, but either way, it is a less-than-perfect experience.

The biggest gripe I have is the placement of the on/ off button. Every time I try to move the unit a little bit on the desk I want to grab it right where the button is so I end up turning it off. Annoying.

Good G6 Intel computer with a lot of memory

Generally a good computer so far. We have had it for 6 months. Start up is a bit slow and the graphics card seems to crash frequently; however, the among of memory is nice and works well for our needs. I tried two other gen5 and gen6 Intel computers with Windows 10 from another retailer that I had to return. So far so good on this one.

I came from a asus ROG 1600$ beast and this does everything i want, when I walked in I didn't expect paying so much but this was well worth it, has a tablet feature too which is great for watching movies in bed. Also the metal feel of the laptop is Superior to any other laptop in this price range. This laptop tends to never get hot keeping it very quiet and comfortable. Very happy with it I recommend you buy it if your thinking about it.
