After a month of using this laptop for a variety of things( homework, gaming, editing) I can say it has a enough power to do everything you need. Love the build quality, keyboard lights look very good. Speakers are decent although could be better. Screen is incredible and has a very high refresh rate. Only downside I would say is the fan noise/temperature when doing taxing activities but I bought a cooling pad which brought both of those things down considerably. All in all it’s a very good mid-level pc

First of all, the unboxing was pretty exciting. I've never seen a laptop come in a more beautiful box and the laptop itself is actually really nice looking. The laptop is very well made and sturdy, but also slim and gorgeous. I tried playing an pretty intensive game on it and it worked great. But the fan is very loud. It even kicks in very loudly when I'm just looking at emails (this thing gets very hot compared to others). Another issue is that I'm a musician and it bothered me that the speakers are so quiet. I turned it up all the way and the music was still pretty quiet. The other issue, which I somehow missed when I bought it, is that there's no webcam. I'm surprised a laptop at this level that's supposed to be a gaming laptop doesn't have one. So many gamers love to post videos to Twitch or just do video chats while they play with others. Between those 3 things it just didn't turn out to be a good fit for me. If those things don't bother you, give it a shot though! It's a very nice laptop otherwise.

I love this thing so far. The build quality is exceptional. Everything feels strong and metal. The performance is bang on. Before I go on, been having a few problems with the wifi driver. Had to uninstall it a few times to get it to work. Currently using USB tethering from my phone to write this review. However, I think this is software related and will be taking it to the Geek Squad to fix. You shouldn't have any problems. The other downside is the lack of a num pad. Some Asus computers have a num pad in the trackpad, wish this had that. This is minor though. The per-key RGB lighting is awesome. 16 GB of 2666mhz ram is soldered to the board, meaning you only have to pay for 1 ram stick to bring it up to 32gb. I would do this because it's a pretty cheap upgrade and improves this thing tremendously. I'm getting higher frame rates with 32gb on my games than with the 16gb. The motherboard has 2 nvme SSD slots. Mine only had 1 taken up with a terabyte SSD. So I will be upgrading this soon with a Samsung Evo Plus 1tb stick for more storage for my virtual servers. The panel is very good. The color accuracy is very high, as is the refresh rate. To sum up, I am very pleased with the computer so far. Buy the 3-year warranty though, I have had a few computers before and it has come in handy every time!

I had this laptop from may 5th 2020 till now. September 2024. I’m not a hardcore gamer, but when the new COD would come out it would get the job done. I’m impressed with how well the laptop worked for 4 years. I’m upgrading to a Asus strix 4080 since this asus did so well.

If you’ve read some reviews, yes it gets hot. Yes it is loud. It doesn’t have a webcam. But I wanted something to play games by myself laying in bed and this does that for me. The laptop itself looks sleek, it operates wonderfully, and it gets about as loud as a box fan on the (2) setting at the worst of times. I got this open box sale price so that also informed my assessment of this product.

I purchased this laptop after me and some coworkers decided to play “Rust” during the covid quarantine. I have read reviews on many PC review websites and, this laptop would always score negative due to the price at the current time of the reviews ($1,800) compared to competitors. Now with this significant price reduction from Best Buy, this laptop is now affordable and worth the money. I was a little hesitant at first because one of the main issues in these negative reviews was the power of the laptop, but I’m happy to say I pulled the trigger on this and can play games like “Rust” and “Total War: Three Kingdoms” on ultra settings. Pros: + GPU and CPU works well together. No lag in any of my games. + Slim and compact. Can carry this baby anywhere without feeling like you’re lifting weights. + Multi color keyboard is mesmerizing to look at. + Sound from this laptop is absolutely amazing. Cons: - Display is not vibrant. You will take a display hit on some games that would normally be beautiful to look at. - Fans are loud once they come on. You will almost always want to put headphones on while gaming. You can change the speed of them if they get annoying but the heat may effect your gaming. - Battery life isn’t too great. If carrying this on the road (or plane) it will die on you depending on how much battery power you are using. Rating: 90% This laptop will not disappoint at the current price. You can play all the popular games out there with no problems. If you can look past it’s flaws, this laptop can be very rewarding.

I’ll keep it short and sweet. This laptop is a fantastic purchase for anyone who is looking for a powerful gaming laptop that can run any game or program at high FPS with great graphics. With 1TB of SSD and 16 GB of RAM, I never have issue with storage or the computer slowing down. On top of that, the RTX 2060 graphics card has done a fantastic job. I use this computer for gaming, graduate school, creating video content, and more. It does all of it quickly and effectively. I’ve always been so worried about buying the wrong computer or something going wrong, but this purchase has restored my faith in PC’s in general. Also, I like that it does not have a camera. I have a USB camera I can plug in if I need it, but I never have to worry about the camera being on accidentally or about being hacked and watched through it, lol! I bought this computer brand new a little over a year ago and it still runs perfectly. I can see myself using this PC for a very long time. 10/10, highly recommend.

For being as small as this laptop is, it really is a beast. I bought this as a work laptop to run 3D architecture software, while maybe having the desire to game on the go. It really is a champ. The 9750H and the 2060 work great together. It's my first setup with a 144hz refresh monitor, and it is, in my opinion, pretty good. Games are nice and smooth. Streaming from the laptop isn't bad, though the laptop does lack a webcam. I have an older Logitech webcam that seems to work just fine. It has enough power to easily run OBS, your game, and chrome in the background as well. 16GB of ram is great for everything. I've been getting into some video editing so I purchased an additional 16GB of Corsair vengeance laptop memory. The 1TB m.2 is great and fast, and there's one additional m.2 slot for expansion, which will come in handy once ssd prices come back down. Speakers aren't terrible, but they don't compare to a nice set of gaming headphones. The on board mic isn't bad either and totally usable for gaming or video calls. Nobody likes a track pad, and this one won't really change your mind either. It's a bit on the smaller side. The left and right click buttons are a little soft and can be pressed quite easily. I often have the track pad disabled and just use a mouse. The keyboard is pretty good for being membrane, but it does have a light tactile feel to it. One problem I occasionally have is the wifi adapter loses connection frequently, whether I am a few feet from my router or 20 feet. It's been quite inconvenient when doing video calls with clients. There's no update on it and Asus support isn't great. The Ethernet jack is nice to have when I have a cable available. If you are looking for a gaming laptop, this is nice. Though 10th Gen Intel and 4th Gen ryzen laptops are out now, you'd be better off with those, unless BB has this on sale.

First off, the most important thing about this laptop.... It has 1 single channel of ram in use, meaning that you arent getting full performance on the laptop unless you buy another ram module that matches the speed and specs of the current ram module soldered onto the board. I recently installed a 16GB 2666Hz RAM stick and it unleashed the laptops full potential. This is due to how hardware works along with application usage. For example, a game R6 Siege without the ram stick installed would give me roughly 60FPS in game, but with the RAM stick installed im now getting roughly 150FPS. Each game/application will vary based on configurations, etc, but just note that you are limited on performance without getting the optional RAM upgrade. As far as everything else goes, battery life is sorta lacking but is made up for the fact that the battery can charge quickly (when conservative on resource use). The 144Hz an 3ms display is extremely nice. Brightness comparison is a person by person basis so ill leave that up to the buyer (in my opinion its ok, could be better). The Intel Optane and other hardware onboard is great for the money. I will recommend that one should get some sort of USB hub if you plan on using a lot of USB devices, since it only has 3 USB ports total. The laptop does run a bit hot but i dont think it affects performance too much. Keep it cool when possible by giving it enough ventilation to breathe, etc. TLDR - upgrade to 32GB RAM (add another 16GB 2666Hz RAM module) to allow the laptop to use its full range of performance. Lacking in battery life, but charges quick. Other than that, great latptop for the money. Highly recommend.

Bought it on sale for 1350 at Best Buy. You cannot find anything with the same/similar specs for the price. Laptop has a good quality feel to it Rubberdized/special plastic coats the handrest so oil doesn't show as easily. This is good because i frequently like to eat in front of a computer. Performance is great. I was able to undervolt the CPU and got the thermals down a good amount with affecting perfomance. I do not like running this in "turbo" mode in the ASUS armory because it runs the fans at max setting even if you aren't putting on a load. Fans are LOUD when turned up all the way. Undervolting really keeps the sound and temps down. Unfortunately my specific model experienced weird sounds coming from the fans. I reseated the CPU fan and it seems to solve the issue. Also when gaming one night, I moved the laptop form my lap to a desk and the fans went bonkers. I can only describe the sound like a fan blade was hitting something loose - like a wire or something. It only laster for 2 mins or so. When i opened the case to inspect - everything seems fine. These fan issues have me a little on edge though. I may purchase replace fans in the near future to keep just in case. Also, you really should get another 16gb stick of RAM for this model. Running RAM in dual channel made a huge difference in performance. I've never seen a CPU so dependent on dual channel memory before. On some games I saw a performance increase by over 30%! And it really got rid of any weird fps drops. Great laptop overall. Just needed a bit of tweaking to get it to my high standards. Really think it was a great buy and I look forward to using for the next couple of years.

I have had this machine for a week now and feel confident enough to write my opinion of it. I had done my research and was choosing between the cheaper GA502DU and the MSI GS65 Stealth. I decided on this one in the end mainly for the slightly faster RTX 2060 and the stock 1TB SSD. When I opened it up I instantly fell in love with its looks and feel. The stylish chassis is light but very rigid and well built. The overall footprint makes it easy to carry around and take with you where ever you go (as long as you don't plan to be away from the charger for long). The screen is good not the best I have see but colors are good. Brightness is usable even in bright light. Contrast isn't the best but what makes this panel great is response times and refresh rate. I have not noticed any ghosting at 144hz and response times are excellent. The only thing wrong with the screen at least on my unit is a single pixel dead center of the screen that is stuck to red on most backgrounds. This can happen to any laptop display and wont hold it against Asus. Performance is what you would expect for a thin and light with this kind of power. It can get hot on the cpu but gpu stays cool even under heavy gaming. Like all gaming laptops the fans do get loud when putting this thing under a full gaming load but nothing the speakers cant cover up even when using turbo mode. You are gonna want to add another stick of ram since it comes with 16gb of ram in single channel that is soldered to the board. I purchased a g-skill ripjaws stick and works fantastic. Before upgrading I ran the rise of the tomb raider benchmark at ultra preset using performance mode and got 64 fps average. After the upgrade I was getting 98 fps average. A 34 fps average increase which I wasn't expecting. The only thing that could be better is battery life but wasn't expecting anything crazy out of a gaming laptop anyways. Can get around 4 hours out of it with light work loads and web browsing before having it plugged in. I also have it set to balanced charging which stops charging at 80%. so roughly 1 hour per 20% battery. So overall it is an excellent laptop that is great for the traveling gamer or someone like myself who is tight on space and takes there computer with them to work each day. It is an excellent machine for work and play especially on sale. I got mine for $1450 and for me well worth the price and investment. If you want a lightweight machine that can handle games get this one especially if you are interested in Minecraft with RTX since the 2060 is the lowest tier card that can run ray tracing.

I've owned this laptop for 3 months now and absolutely love it. I haven't had a descent gaming laptop in years so I'm a little behind the times with the games I'm playing. Borderlands 3 is the newest. Other games I have tried so far - Skyrim special edition, dishonored 2 and Borderlands the pre-sequel. All ran without a hitch. It does get hot while gaming and the fans can get a little loud. I purchased the targus chillpad which helped a lot. Also, great for work and much lighter than my last laptop that I bought 4 years ago.

Great laptop for mid to serious gamers. More than enough power to handle all games. Every game out today it will handle. Will it handle the graphics settings on ultra for every game? I would say yes with no problem, although the FPS may be as low as 30-50 FPS. You can always decrease the graphics settings to have more stable game play and better FPS if need be. I obviously own this laptop and I have more than just 1 gaming computer. Yes you can find a gaming computer overall for the price of $1500 but, it would have to be a desktop. Sure you can find similar prices for Similar specs of this Asus Rog Zephyrus laptop but in all honesty, with the SAME exact specs, you may find another laptop cheaper for a max of $100-$200 cheaper... You have to look at the overall build quality and performance. This laptop has it! The chassis is built of magnesium which is a rare and unusual build quality for a laptop. Usually laptops are of ABS plastic or metal. Im not sure why it was built of magnesium and metal but it gives the laptop its own customization. You also got to look at the warranty center and online/call support. I have never dealt with any other computer companies except HP and Dell. Dell is trash anymore and HP is no better but still better than Dell. Im sure Asus is no better than the rest but the overall design, specs, and performance outweigh any cons. If you have the money, want the portability of having a gaming PC on the go or to take anywhere in the house, buy it! The only con and flaw of this laptop is it does run on the hot side. Is it really a flaw to be completely honest when it pushes out Gtx 2060 graphics with a 9th gen I7 in a small laptop? All of my gaming laptops reach 80-90 celsius. Dont forget a cooling pad underneath the laptop and your set for the life of the computer. You will be pleased believe me!

This laptop is a beast! Runs every game I’ve tried so far at ultra settings. Lightweight, highly customizable keyboard rgb and fans. Descent ssd space though a terabyte doesn’t seem to last nowadays. Only really downside and this goes for any laptop, is the heat. This will get warm and fans can be loud. I highly recommend keeping this device on a elevated position for air flow. Nonetheless, this laptop is very powerful and beats out laptops that cost twice as much. Must buy!

I absolutely love this thing. I bought it back in August of 2020 on sale for under $1300, and it was a STEAL. It gets hot, and it gets loud under strain (normal for a laptop with this much power in such a small size). When I first purchased, I was a bit underwhelmed by some of the frame rates I was getting, so I upgraded to 32gb ram, and it's been great ever since. A year later, and I'm not even thinking about my next machine, other than I know it'll be a desktop cuz this will be my laptop for years to come. One MAJOR downside is whether gaming or not, the battery is pathetic, so plan on bringing your charger everywhere with you. And yes, I'm saying this knowing most gaming laptops have poor battery life, but this is worse than most...but it's also more powerful than most too. It was my first Asus machine, but I see myself as a bit of a ROG fanboy now. Very pleased.

After Goldilocks-ing around two other gaming laptops, I’ve finally found my “just right” with the Zeph M. I first tried the Asus G531GT (9750H/GTX 1650) and I liked the features and lack of bloatware, but the GPU was way weaker than I expected so I returned it for a 17” Dell G5 (9750H/RTX 2060). The hardware combo was perfect, but the footprint and overall plasticy build didn’t blend well into a professional office setting. So naturally I desired the footprint and UX of the G531GT and the hardware combo of the G5 with a sturdier, sleeker chassis: enter the ASUS GU502GV. Modern brushed metal lid, magnesium alloy deck and body, great keyboard and a good trackpad all in a thin professional-looking package. I’m scoring right in line or above other 9750H/RTX 2060 laptops in Firestrike, Timespy, and Cinebench R15/R20 so there’s no real penalty to this power in this small footprint—other than fan noise and thermals. Can’t do much with the fan noise, it’s not high pitched but it does get pretty loud on full tilt. For thermals, I downloaded Throttle Stop and applied these settings to maintain performance while lowering temps: Speed Shift EPP enabled with a value of 32. Core Voltage offset of -125mV Cache Voltage Offset of -50mV Before I could only get to -70mV on both before becoming unstable, but I found I can go lower on the core offset if I don’t lock core and cache offset together. That made a big difference to temps and now I never see the high 80s in benchmarking and it sits comfortably in the low to mid 70s during extended gaming sessions. All in all, this is a great looking and performing machine that rivals the Razor Blade/MacBook Pro aesthetic at a not-insignificant discount. A couple easy tweaks and it’s as close to perfect as you can get!

This is a VERY well built gaming laptop. I bought this PC to game, and although it does do most every game in high FPS, it does NOT support VR for new (better) headsets due to a lack of display port (Adapters will not work for VR). VR is one of the only reasons I got this PC, but it only supports older Vive/Oculus headsets which use the HDMI connection. That being said, I like the PC so much that I still kept it. It is a beast for a 15.6 inch laptop that gets the job done. From the aesthetics to performance, it is amazing. You should not have any issues playing major games at 1080P (screen resolution limit) at or above 144FPS (screen refresh rate). The SSD size of 1Tb is great as Laptops are very limited to their ability for upgrades and that should give you plenty of room to install major games without immediately needing a USB-C external drive. Some downfalls - as mentioned above, new VR headsets are not compatible. This may change or not be a concern in the near future as VR technology improves, but as of today, the best VR headsets cannot be used with this laptop. The battery life is terrible (maybe 45 mins when gaming and less then 3 hours for web browsing, ect...). The position of the power plug (and style) makes it vulnerable to break and, although, there is an option to power via the USB-C port, it only will support up to 40 watts of charge (maybe an additional 20 minutes of playtime). The screen resolution could have been better (worse on gameplay though) as the lack of 4K is noticeable. The color range of the screen and brightness is not the best. Speakers, although they sound good, do not get very loud and most the sound is pushed out of the bottom (causes muffling if placed on clothed surface). Longevity of the machine may be a limitation by 2021-2022 due to the current hardware to support future new games, but that would be true of any gaming laptop as of today. Memory is 16Gb running at 2.666Mhz (good for 1080P) but is soldered on and cannot be upgraded. Pros - Value for $$$ - Design/Built Quality - 1080P Gaming Performance - Stock SSD Size (for the price you pay) - Screen Refresh Rate (3MS response time) - SSD Size + Optane - RGB Keyboard (freaking looks amazing on this) Cons - Lack of VR Support for New Headsets - Battery Life (Less than 3 Hours) - Speakers - Screen Resolution and Color Range - Soldered Memory at 2.666Mhz - No Webcam For the price you pay, you won't find a better valued machine in late 2019 to early 2020 for what it can do. Laptop gaming is more or less a second tier gaming choice for those who need a laptop and still want to game (like me). It is expected that some tradeoffs will be made in the gaming laptop experience. Knowing that, this PC far exceeded my expectations for just about everything I've done with it (excluding VR - still need my desktop for that).

I bought this laptop to do heavy programming for cnc machines and to run inventor/cad/cam. this laptop has lived up to what I was told it could do. When I downloaded the inventor/cad/cam/autodesk 360 it did it with ease and did it very fast! I went into the shop and came back a half hour later and it had already finished and its not a small file to download. Everything I open it opens faster than the snap of your fingers. Only downfall I have found with this laptop is the battery really only lasts 3 hours when i'm playing spotify and doing my programming. At the store I was told it had 6 hours of battery life but really has 4 if you are just playing on the internet. Other than the battery draining fast I love this laptop and would still buy it knowing the battery has 3 hours max.

The best gaming laptop for the deal price (Offer price - 1499)*. 1. I have been playing Mortal Kombat X, GTA V and Call of Duty MW as soon as it arrived and I'm in love with the performance. 2. The camera and On-screen touch are not available for the laptop but that is not my concern as I specifically bought it for playing games 3. Loved the keyboard and the RGB backlight 4. Heatsink system is explicable. However, minor heat is generated on the keys when we play high-end graphics games -- so, preferably use additional heatsink/cooling pad for high-performance games 5. The touchpad could be better.

Looking at other laptops with similar specifications and, almost none of them had a 1 tb SSD. That alone makes this a better purchase over other laptops. Aside from that, the ASUS build is solid and aesthetically pleasing. Looks good and remains quite thin for the amount of power inside. The negatives would be that it can get quite hot. If you plan to use this on your lap I would consider getting a small table or platform to put underneath the computer to avoid burning your nether regions. Also the battery life is not great, but it's good enough for a student if they need it to work. In power saving mode and minimal usage, I managed to squeeze 4 hours out of the battery which is not great but it's better than some when looking at gaming laptops. If you want more juice consider picking up a 3 prong power brick to take with you in your travels. Aside from that, this is my 3rd ASUS laptop and I've never had any issues with the brand.
