Customers are impressed with the ROG Zephyrus 14" Gaming Laptop's performance, graphics capabilities, and long battery life. Many appreciate its compact size, portability, and lightweight design, making it ideal for those on the go. However, some users note that the device can get warm and produce noticeable fan noise during use. The lack of a webcam and some concerns about the keyboard backlight are also mentioned.

5 stars -1 for no webcam
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very powerful for such a thin and light machine but it has quirks, mainly it doesn't haven't a webcam, which I didn't even think to check since I just assumed every laptop these days has one. Not the end of the world obviously (and some people might even like not having one for privacy) but I was annoyed I had to go buy a webcam after dropping $1500 on the laptop.

4/5 Recommend
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a really solid laptop. I have had it for two years, and I do not have a single complaint. Battery life on the integrated graphics can consistently get you 8 hours though I am never far from an outlet so I haven’t had to worry about that. I would recommend this product. However, with it being two years old, there are probably better products on the market now.

Nice Gaming Laptop
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My first gaming laptop and AMD product and I’m very impressed! Best Buy associate highly recommended it. Plays World of Warships very smoothly. Smaller size makes this laptop very portable. Lots of storage space for my photo collection. Screen is smaller, but great quality. Runs through battery power quickly and overheats fast, but great if you can sit and plug it in and cool it with a fan while it’s running.

Best Laptop I've Owned Yet
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent performance, heat management, build quality and cost. The G14 is very lightweight and small, but still big enough to use comfortably. Overall the machine feels well made, especially having a metal chassis. There's no flex or cracking, and the lid hinge is tight. Heat buildup is managed surprisingly well for such a small form factor too.

Asus nailed it
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is one of my favorite laptops of all time. I've had dozens of gaming laptops. Everything about this laptop is great except 3 things. Hot! Loud! Color scheme! This boy gets hot and loud and I'm not a fan of the 3 different colors of the chassis. But, this thing is still awesome. Build quality and performance is amazing at this price point.

Excellent laptop, but some quality control issues
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you're looking for a portable gaming laptop, this one is at the top. The Ryzen 9 5900HS and RTX 3060 make it a formidable combination, and the 144hz screen makes gaming buttery smooth. The monitor itself is subject to some bleeding, but it shouldn't be too noticeable. You will be able to play most games at high or ultra settings with this laptop. I bought this laptop mainly for the battery life and although it is not as high as I expected, it will still beat most other laptops out there. Despite this, there are some QC issues I would like to point out. For one, the fingerprint sensor doesn't work sometimes, and a reboot of the laptop is required to fix this. This would've been fine if it happened once or twice but it has already happened more times than I can count, making it a big annoyance. Another thing is that the laptop seems to randomly freeze at times. Maybe this is a driver issue, but even after driver updates, it seems to happen occasionally. It happens more than I'd like to happen, so beware of this too. Overall, an excellent gaming laptop with some issues you should be mindful of.

Definitely worth the purchase
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall an extremely good laptop. I use it for work and gaming. Unplugged i can get anywhere from 4 to 9 hours of battery life and when gaming the quality is definitely good. Pleasently surprised i can get over 60 fps at medium to ultra quality with rtx on set to medium in cyberpunk! Although saddened this doesn't have the animetrix lid it is still a great purchase! Matte panel is a major plus as well.

Nice
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The laptop is just awesome, the screen is nice, the performance is great, the built quality is good, the sound is better than i expected, the only problem i notice while i was gaming is the heat, it gets pretty hot sometimes but I fixed it just disabling the auto turbo boost. Another problem that you could have is the lack of an ethernet port, but all the laptops with this size doesn't have it.

Desktop replacement
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop has far exceeded my expectations in every way for my usage. The GPU in my desktop burned out in June of 2021, there were no GPU to buy on the shelves so I looked at gaming laptops. This unit was one of a few that BestBuy had in stock, it wasn't the biggest or highest spec but it was for sure the best balanced with latest tech on the shelves. My usage, laptop sits on an external cooler pad with a USB-C dongle running keyboard, mouse, network, headphones, I have a HP Omen QHD (2560x1440) monitor hooked on the native HDMI port. Games tested that run well, Fallout4 max settings is a solid 50-60fps almost everywhere not bugged in the game, Elder Scrolls Online max settings(all but shadows, medium, at max they seem to bug out and will strobe in green/purple, not sure if driver or game) but easily 60+fps, WoW max settings no issues at all smooth as can be 60+ fps. Everquest 6boxing windowed 1080p all 6 running at 60+fps no problem. It would have been nice to have a slightly higher resolution screen, this thing is seriously overpowered on the graphics side for 1080p.

amazing laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great overall laptop, plays everything I've thrown at it at medium to high graphics. Keys feel great, battery life is decent if you want to play games for a little while without a cord. Screen size is perfect, light, portable. I upgraded from an HP Omen laptop, very bulky with a huge screen. I'll probably never have another oversized laptop again, go with portability over screen size.

Quality Control on these is terrible
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is very powerful, I can play heavy duty titles on it without having to be plugged in. However, I had to exchange the first computer I got due to it having a bubbling sound on the right fan. and the volume down key was popping off on the keyboard (mind you this is straight out the box) the second laptop turns off randomly in the middle of gaming (titles like Minecraft, Sea of Thieves). This laptop also does not have a fn lock so its a bit of extra work to dim the screen but not a deal breaker like the defective laptops. I would recommend to get something different unless you have the patience to deal with troubleshooting it
No, I would not recommend this to a friendBrand response from ASUS Answers
Posted .Dear Pollitohd,
We certainly understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused you.
All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections, these are random problems. Normally, ASUS provides one year warranty coverage, if product was purchased brand-new, in order to fix or repair any hardware or, part that stop working prematurely under normal usage.
If the laptop shuts down randomly, please ensure the air ventilations are free from obstructions in order to have an efficient air flow for better heat dissipation. Poor ventilation will generate excessive heat and will cause an auto-shutdown.
If you need more information or further assistance with the warranty for the product, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and I would be more than happy to help. Or, you can speak to an ASUS live support agent 24/7 at http://bit.ly/AsusLiveChat.
Thank you for choosing an ASUS product.
Regards,
Rodel

ROG is a beast!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This machine is an animal. Very customizable to make it your own. One thing of note is that this machine comes with a very adequate 16gb of RAM. If going to crucial to determine what memory to buy, it is correct, however there is only one spot for RAM. 8gb is soldered on the mother board. But it will take a 32gb chip. Very fast. Runs a little hot.

Almost Excellent
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this laptop for about 3 months now and overall I am quite pleased with it. The keyboard is great for a gaming laptop, the screen is excellent, and the performance has been rock solid. There are 2 issues holding it back from a 5 star. 1. The sheer number of software programs needed to control it. Between Asus, AMD, NVIDIA, and Windows it can be really confusing to get everything sorted out. I still can't quite get the sleep behavior right for my preferences. 2. The biggest issue though is the igpu/dedicated gpu controls. The auto switching functionality seems to work sometimes but for a number of games, you always have to manually switch because they will throw "no dedicated gpu" errors. Also, for some reason, a few games through GamesPass will not run above 5-10 FPS but the number of games it affects is small. Overall, a good to great computer that is just held back a bit on the software side.

ROG-Supreme
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This computer is a beast. I bought it for 60% of the price as an open box. Required few touches but it is superior with spec. If you are using Assus for the first time, you may need to watch some video how to set it up in right way that works for you.

Great value!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great value for money. The processor is insanely fast. The graphics card isn't half bad either. Keep in mind this thing gets stupid hot, I would recommend having a cooling pad underneath it. It's easy to setup and use. There isn't a bunch of annoying garbage software preinstalled on it either. Highly recommended for both casual and gaming use.

The laptop to end all laptops
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My buddies and I play a lot of games, most notably Age of Empires. One friend has a $3000 Alienware laptop that crashed the game every session. You know what didn’t? This laptop. It’s an absolute UNIT and if you don’t have it or one of its predecessors you’re missing out.

Great workstation for on the move
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is a great buy if you're looking for a light, portable machine that has powerful capabilities. If you are always on the move but still need some power in your workstation, then this is definitely a buy. The one downside is that there is no webcam, but if you're ok with that, then I'd highly recommend.
