Metal cover is nice. Fingerprint reader on the power button is a great feature for quick access. The small profile of this laptop makes it easier for travel, as we use to utilize another gaming laptop and it was too bulky. The ROG features 2 USB C ports and 2 USB ports. The keyboard has a white under glow which is a nice feature and easy on the eyes. I have ran Starcraft 2 on max settings and it ran very smoothly. All the regular pc functions work very well and quickly. This is a powerful little machine and I would recommend it to gamers and casual users alike.

I held off on getting a gaming laptop until I could find a powerful 14inch that would fit my needs. This absolutely knocked it out of the park. I strongly prefer apple products because of the build quality and this Asus is on par with apple. The laptop is lightening fast and the graphics are wonderful. It runs anything I throw at it. Yes, it gets insanely hot if you don't have a cooling pad but you cant put this much power into a 14inch laptop and try to play a game on ultra while expecting it to stay cool. I have had zero problems with my unit and owned it about 5.5 months.

    Great Gaming Laptop

I've had this laptop 2 years as of yesterday. It is a great gaming laptop. It does get decently hot but thats expected from a laptop. A great cooling fan works wonders though. This will work on all games I've played. Even the most demanding games work great with some tweaks. A desktop will nearly always do better with heat and graphics cards but ASUS ROG has become my best gaming laptop I've owned. It works great and has excellent battery life with the dedicated graphics turned off too for school or watching videos and web surfing when you arent near a charger. Great laptop and running strong after 2 years.

I replaced my Macbook with this one and could not be more happy. I can play any games I want and they all run seamlessely. The material of the laptop is unique and looks sturdy. Typing in comfortable since the edges are not sharp (unlike some other). Small enough to carry it around and use as you like. Only drawback is not having camera. If you are a regular zoom call user, this might disapoint you. But it may not be a big issue if you buy a $15 camera. Recommended for gamers who wants to game on the go.

I love this laptop. Its the perfect size for portability, fits in laptop bags and sleeves unlike the larger screens. Performance is awesome. I've had the laptop for 2 years now and it keeps up will all the games I play and hasn't slowed down with updates, or overheated, not even once. Ive had to get an external for memory but I usually do that anyway. Overall I would purchase again, especially upgraded. Its not outdated yet and like I said plays all the games and newer games Ive gotten without issue. Itll be a while before I need a new laptop but this one is perfect.

Honestly a good laptop to game on

Honestly a good laptop if you can get it at the right price. TLDR if you don't want to read below: Good laptop if you get it at the discounted price, but has issues with crashing and monitors (my experience only). Would recommend to friends Pros: 1) Beast of a computer. This can handle most games at a good fps rate. 2) Looks very clean. The design on this laptop is probably my favorite, which is why I bought it. Keyboard also feels nice. Just know, this isn't the model that has the lights on the back, and they fingerprint scanner will not work. But I don't mind, think it's a great product for the price I got it for. Cons: 1) If you are using a monitor, be prepared to have some issues. I personally had my laptop disconnect from the monitor, while playing a game, and suddenly swap the game screen to the laptop screen instead of the monitor. This took forever to fix, and I'm almost certain it isn't an issue with the monitor because I used this monitor with my PC, and never had this issue. 2) The laptop might crash. I don't know if this issue is from heat, or if it's from having too many applications open. But there is a chance it might force restart your laptop while in the middle of a task. Just a heads up. 3) It's not the same as a PC. A PC with the same specs as this laptop, would most likely be able to perform better. 4) Temperature fan issues. Even while having the laptop on Turbo mode, it gets hot.

A powerful, small laptop, with some quirks

As far as performance goes, this laptop handles itself pretty well. It is the lower end of the RTX 3060 configurations, but it can handle almost every game you throw at it at 1080p on high settings. Keyboard feels nice enough to type on and the track pad is also nice to use. The display feels vibrant enough, but a little washed out compared to higher-end desktop monitors (but can't really complain about that). There are a few issues with the laptop however: - The laptop doesn't go to sleep as you'd expect a laptop to go to sleep. I set mine to do so when I press the power button. But when I do, I have to leave the laptop alone for a good 30 seconds or so before it actually goes to sleep. Otherwise it "wakes up" - This laptop also has Windows 10's Connected Standby feature, which allows the laptop to wake up periodically to get updates from the internet. The problem is this can lead to higher battery drain or worse, the laptop waking up while in a backpack or something. There's no way to disable it either, despite trying various ways - The laptop gets warm and the fans are constantly on, even with light use. The keyboard area doesn't get too warm, but areas not around the left hand side will get toasty if you play a game. - The fingerprint reader is finicky. You have to be pretty much spot on with the positioning otherwise it won't take. Unless you need to 14" size, I would say look at other notebooks first.

Truly an amazing laptop. Compact, and incredibly adaptable to any task. I never thought something so small could be so capable. I wish I would have kept it, but I ended up choosing a desktop. The only thing I can compare this to is my Gateway Creator Series i5 with a 2060 (upgraded to 16gb ram and 1tb SSD). I bought it to replace my Gateway, but I just couldn't justify it. My Gateway was $730 with a 2 year warranty. ~1600 Zephyrus vs ~900 Gateway? I just don't see it. If you don't have a desktop and wanted to casually game, it would make sense, to a certain extent. Although the Zephyrus runs incredibly well, the frame gets incredibly hot. I couldn't touch the F keys because it felt like I would be touching a hot pan. It was ridiculous and not for me. I guarantee this: you will need an external keyboard. Overall, I see this more as a luxury item because it blends performance and compatibility. It wasn't for me but I was surprised at how good it ran all of my Steam games. If it wasn't for the deal I found with a 3080 desktop, I probably would have sold my Gateway and kept it.

With a Cinebench R23 score consistently above 12,000 and an RTX 3060 as well as a Radeon iGPU, this laptop is capable of running intense tasks and does extremely well gaming. It is suitable for purposes beyond gaming based on my experience with the previous model Zephyrus, and this one so far has managed its thermals extremely well. Great battery under non-gaming conditions. It's fast, it's light, it looks great. The screen could be a bit brighter in my opinion, and the speakers aren't able to get as loud as some other laptops I've used. However the speakers are bomb, and are extremely crisp and full of bass, especially for the size. The resolution is great at this size and refresh rate. I wish it had an ethernet port, but you can use an ethernet to USB-C adapter. Haven't had a chance to test the DisplayPort over USB-C out yet, but I don't anticipate any problems using this as a desktop replacement when I'm out and about. I'm spoiled/blessed with a 5900X and a 3090 in my main rig, for perspective, and I'm beyond happy with this laptop. It's good. Great build quality. Great trackpad. Solid keyboard that's easy to get to full speed typing on. Sadly there is no webcam, and despite the argument Asus makes for this, there should be a webcam. Hopefully this won't be a deal breaker for too many people. Overall: Performance: Excellent, for the price unfairly excellent Quality: High Thermals: Good Sound: Great Visuals: Great Portability: Great Bells and whistles: Has many, but not all

The Zephyrus G14 is one of the best laptops out there for this price. You get a near all metal build with the bottom panel being plastic and the bezels. The Ryzen 9 5900hs and RTX 3060 pack some serious power for a thin and light 14" gaming laptop. Other laptops in this price may have a slightly better gpu but are overall chunkier and have a more gamer aesthetic to them. The design for this is overall pretty sleek and minimalistic. To get the temperature down on this laptop, there are tutorials showing you how to disable the boost on YouTube. You lose very little performance while losing around 10 or more degrees Celsius on overall temperature. The display is a nice 144hz panel. In my opinion it gets bright enough for most viewing scenarios. Only downside for it is the slow response time. If you look hard for ghosting, you will find it. If you are one that isn't able to look past the ghosting, than this laptop may not be for you. But for overall gaming it's hard to notice. Battery life on here is outstanding for a gaming laptop. It can get a little over 10 hours with light tasks and with the battery set to battery saving mode. If anyone is curious, you can run the Windows 11 beta on here perfectly fine. I haven't found any issues with it so far. Anyone who's looking for a laptop in the $1500 range seriously needs to consider this.

Amazing (but very hot) portable gaming! This laptop can is perfect for someone starting g out with streaming and gaming , easily runs most games from 2023 while being able to also run broadcasting software like OBS , that's about the extent though , for a laptop it's more than impressive. I wanted this laptop when I decided to get a gaming laptop after having built a desktop in the past. I know there's better out there for similar price, but not at this size and in white. I love how sleek the body is, everything feels well made. It runs smoothly for my needs and I use a laptop cooling pad to make sure I'm not letting it overheat (especially since I like using it on my lap). I got it at the best price right before Christmas and haven't regretted it once. I do keep it plugged in while playing and have also kept fans on turbo. The noise doesn't bother me and just sounds like a white noise fan. It can go silent and let's you control fan speed with the Fn buttons. All the buttons at the top of the keyboard easily let you control volume and brightness of keys and screen. Hidden fingerprint sensor in the power button was also a nice surprise!

Beautifully designed laptop and is super quiet even when the fans are going at full speed. I love the responsiveness of the keyboard and the tactile aspect of the keyboard. I do not have the expertise to remark on the build of this laptop. What I can say is that from a "non-computer" person this computer has the speed and brains to run some heavy visually processing software such as mapping, CAD, and handles running heavily visual game, writing, and completing online courses at the same time. I like that I can have multiple windows open and still run the software without any hiccups. This is my first computer since 2012 and my first Asus computer since the turn of the century. This review probably doesn't truly help anyone make a decision on purchasing this computer, I can say that I have had it over a month now and I am still very much in love.

I bought this gaming laptop after researching online here at best buy and on youtube. The only drawback about this laptop is that it doesn't come with a camera. I am using this laptop only to play games. The rtx 3060 video card performs well in conjunction with the ryzen 9 cpu. I have had enjoyed playing microsoft flight simulator with no major problems. The laptop screen is good enough for gaming while being mobile. I normally use my 27 inch asus desktop monitor while playing games at home. This laptop is lightweight around 3.7 lbs and can play video games on the road very well. You need to have a cooling pad though if playing games as it does get hot. Overall for the specs you get for the price you cannot beat this little powerhouse.
