This product does the job. Nothing fancy but a solid machine. The body feels a little cheap but what do you expect for such an amazing price. I would buy it agin.

We bought this laptop just needing something basic for Web browsing and watching videos. We didn't want a chrome book due to lack of hard drive space. This being 500gb is much better than the 32 or 64gb you find in similarly priced chrome books. It does what we want it to no problem. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because you can't upgrade the ram due to it being permanently soldered to the board. I was planning on doing that just to make it a bit more snappy.

great for school, internet usage/gaming. perfect for 16 old boy to take to school. downfall is battery life measurement: when it says 20 min it gives about 5.

This is a great basic laptop. It's very light and everything works on it. My only complaint is the same complaint I have with every laptop I've ever had. When I type I always touch the touchpad which usually results in some form of mayhem on the screen. I usually just disable the touchpad and use a mouse. For some reason I haven't gotten around to doing that yet with this one. But I am sure I will soon. I would definitely recommend this to someone who just needs to surf the web, check email, or update social media.

my lap top died at a bad time, I didn't have a lot of money to buy another expensive one so I bought a very inexpensive one. I wasn't sure if I would like it because I am used to a bigger memory and larger hard drive. The one I bought does run a little slower then my other one but it is easy to use and it seams to run well for the price.

When first reading the reviews of this item, I almost didn't purchase it. But, considering it was on sale for only $199, I decided to give it a try. Like the reviews stated, it had trouble signing on to my home wifi. After calling the ISP and manually entering their IP address, the problem was solved. All in all, this is a good computer and perfect for average use. The Windows 10 updates are a different story.

This laptop cost around $300 and I needed a fast replacement for my prior laptop. This one has average speed but if you are using it for basic functions it works well. Sometimes it lags in playing videos as well as songs on itunes, and randomly the wi-fi will just stop working which prompts me to have to reboot for no real reason. This is an average laptop but it fits the old adage of you get what you pay for.

For the Money how can you beat this computer. 4 GB 500GB DVD Player. Asus produces great laptops without breaking the bank.

This computer was purchased as a backup to use if we needed an extra computer for some reason. It has served its purpose well so far. It runs well. The programs open well.The operating system works with the rest of the programs. It would be nice if it had more RAM and better graphics but it works for the price.

This Asus is a bargain. Occasionally Best Buy sells it for $230 instead of $280, at which point it's even a better deal. The hard drive is sizable and the CPU is decent for basic tasks such as web browsing and watching Netflix. Don't expect to do any heavy lifting with it, although I was able to record and edit audio quite easily. Hard to beat for the price, although there are cost-saving measures that become increasingly apparent the longer you use it.

I needed to update my Windows Vista and 10 year old computer. I do not need lots of storage or complicated features. I do not stream video or play video games or listen to music on my computer. This computer was inexpensive and had all the features I wanted for my simple needs. The case and keyboard are lightweight and seem a bit insubstantial, but will do.

This is a okay laptop for the money. Its slow compared to other laptops with the same specs. For the money I would get something else.

laptop is good for the money you pay for it a little slow but good for what I use it for.

This computer was bought because of the price. Its processor was somewhat slow. It does do the basics of a computer.

Everything runs just fine with, you can play small games on it such as Shellshock and Factorio. But the laptop feels so dang cheap, like it's hollow, I feel like I'm going to break it if I press the key too hard.

As I researched all the laptops on the Best Buy website between $250 - $500 this Asus was clearly the best value. As my daughter prepares for college I want to help her be successful with her class work and with the technical specs provided by this laptop I'm sure she will have a great start. This laptop checked all of my daughter's cosmetic requirements and all of my technical expectations.
