You want a laptop that looks nice. Asus understands that. That’s why the company has tried so hard to build a better MacBook. The ZenBook line has given birth to many beautiful, powerful, desirable machines that offer PC people a chance to preen—even when they’re surrounded by MacBooks at their local cafe

Best Buy did a great job working with me to get the computer that I needed to run my business. They took the time to show me several and did not push one way or the other. Also seeing/working on the systems helped greatly. The computer, no fault of BB, is okay for the price. The specs are great comparatively speaking and the price point is good. The B&O speakers are located on the bottom, total design flaw (unless you like muffled sound.) Touch pad and space bar are jacked up pretty back. The touch pad is higher one side then the other and the space bar has no travel action and is lower then the rest of the keys on the keyboard. - Nice QC ASUS. (Received the computer in this condition in an unopened box direct from ASUS) Was expecting more from the company that makes parts for most of the computers out there. Especially on one of their flagship computers what are they doing with the lower end ones. YIKES. Disclaimer - BB does not have an option to opt out of the Recommend to a friend because I am not sure if this was isolated case with my system.

Beautiful Computer but big design flaws

After reading the reviews online and checking out the specifications of this computer I was eager to buy. Unfortunately, this computer is what I would call a near miss. Let me start with the positives: -Gorgeous machine the finish is exceptional and the design is stunning - The computer specifications are fantastic for the money. this computer out does a similar Mac for half the cost. - The touch screen is responsive. Negatives Unfortunately as I type this review, im currently sitting on a 3 hour geek squad session trying to speed up the computer and adjusting the display and system settings. -The 4k display is stunning but it does not play well with many programs and significantly slows down the computers performance. Tonight I had the display set to a resolution of 1080 and it seems to help tremendously. -Screen has a terrible glare and gray haze effect in any light level other than a dark room. I read this review online and thought there was no way it could be this bad. I assure I was wrong. An anti glare coating should do the trick . Asus was no help in recommending a anti glare film. - The keyboard back-lighting is inconsistent and looks cheaply built. Unfortunately i'm already having issue with grime on my keyboard keys and I do not eat while working on my computer. The track pad is noisy but responsive. - The sound of the laptop speakers has a hollow sound, lacking base. I have yet to adjust the sound properties, i hope its an easy fix. To summarize, this computer is a beautiful machine but, there are some serious downfalls with build quality. I think Asus is on their way to something great but its just now quite there yet. If I were to do it again I would have bought the Dell XPS 15 non touch.

Great Specs + Cheap Price Doesn't Equal Great

I just received my laptop in the mail from Best Buy. It's approximately 3 hours old. First I want to say it is a beautiful looking computer. Sexy if you will! :) However, I can't imagine keeping it at all. I let it fully charge before I started using it for light computer work. Therefore, in an hours worth of time I've seen and/or noticed the following: 1. I have received the error message, "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered", five times within the first 45 minutes of use. 2. Laptop is already warm on my lap (noticed after 30 minutes) 3. The Zero on the numpad is smaller than normal and if you work in Excel and need to input numbers, it would take some getting use to. But if you have larger fingers and/or hands you may want to throw it at the wall. 4. After being on the laptop for an hour, it says there is 1 hour 9 minutes remaining. This is at 50% brightness (my eyes are sensitive to bright lights). Now part of the problem could be I haven't tried to remove any bloatware that may be on the computer. 5. The trackpad is a bit loud for my taste and you definitely have to press down harder than normal (at least to me). 6. Silver keys with a white backlight, should never ever be a consideration as it truly makes the backlight useless. I did read reviews before I purchased. But, honestly you just have to try things for yourself because I was not able to find any computer that had only great reviews. I had settled on the XPS 15, XPS 13, HP Spectre x360 and this one. I returned the XPS 15 because it had problems out the box and had to be brought back to Best Buy after seeing Geek Squad the day after purchasing and having the same problem once I returned home. Therefore, I ordered this one and then order the Dell XPS 13 through my job (major discount). I figured I would test them both out. So I'm waiting on the Dell. But, with the issues I've already experienced with this one out of the box, I can't imagine keeping. Plus, it's bigger than I want. What I do like is the keyboard. It's incredibly easy and comfortable as I am typing this review right now. Seriously no complaints. I am able to find the home keys with great ease (which was definitely a draw back on the XPS 15 because I couldn't and had to look down every time because my fingers were always on the work keys). This display is nice and no issues with it at this time either. I can't comment on the touch screen because I honestly don't see how it would be useful on a laptop. To me it's only useful for Ultrabooks or 2-in-1's. The specs are fantastic on this computer. However, it is not something I can keep due to the issues I have seen with only doing light computer work when I know I will also be using it for editing videos. I hope this review helps someone. Oh, the actual size of the display is 13.8 inches (I always wish people would include that in their reviews).

You will not find anything on the market that has this much value. It has so much value that it is equivalent to playing Dr.Boom and having your boom bots kill a 8 health minion. The only way you could possibly have a laptop better than this one for the same price is if you bought the components separately and assembled it yourself.
