This laptop is almost perfect. The Display is incredible, the performance is amazing (even for some light gaming) Battery life is also amazing (12+ hours of web browsing EASY) The keyboard is probably and A-. Very good, but could be a little stiffer (IMO) Trackpad is a B+. I can't give ANY trackpad an A or higher if it isn't haptic, though. I kinda wish I would have got the white version of this laptop, as I think it looks nicer and repels fingerprints better. I ordered an M2 skin to try to help with that though. The keyboard backlight is also really good! Although it's pretty bright, even on the lowest setting, so using the laptop in a really dark place could cause eye strain. But, this is a minor thing, and doesn't bother me 99% of the time. Lastly, what makes this laptop truly awesome is getting rid of all the ASUS bloatware and install G-Helper (the open source software you can use to control the things you care about) With this, I just keep it in the system tray and change performance modes with just a couple clicks.

I bought this instead of upgrading my old surface pro - which I loved BTW. The only reason I went for this was because I wanted a true laptop and didn’t want another 2 in 1 when I have an iPad. My surface pro was a hand me down and I believe a 6th generation? Either way, it was time to be a big girl and upgrade. I got this on sale for $1250 and I will say it is worth just that. DO NOT PAY FULL PRICE for this device. It’s beautiful, truly finger print resistant, and lighter than my friends new MacBook Air M4. It has all the ports I could ever want and the 32 GB of ram is a nice touch. It’s not the fastest thing on the market, but for a student that does light gaming, research, multitasking, and writes reports, it’s perfect. My only reason for 4 stars is the MSRP and the fact it’s an i7 processor not the i9. For the price I think the i9 should be automatic, but beggars can’t be choosers in this economy. Another thing I noticed - battery life is iffy. Sometimes I get great battery life, other times it drains super fast. I’m not sure what causes it. I don’t do anything to crazy except play Minecraft with music or YouTube in the background, but either way it’s a fabulous device. I get compliments on it all the time and the display is gorgeous. I’m hoping the battery thing is something I can just mess with the settings for and fix that. I hear ASUS customer support isn’t that great, so I’m really really really hoping I don’t have to go that far.

Asus never fails to amaze me, and they have done it again. I’ve been using the Asus Zenbook S 14, and it is truly a work of art. From the moment you unbox this laptop, you are hit with the beautifully designed piece of machine. From the ceramic-coated aluminum lid called Ceraluminum to its gorgeous display, this powerhouse has it all. So, let’s go over what new Asus Zenbook S has to offer. Slim & Lightweight One of the things I love the most is how thin and light this laptop is. It’s just .5 inches thick and only 2.6 lbs. I can toss it in my backpack and barely feel it. I even took it on a business trip recently, and it was amazing. It fit perfectly on those tiny airplane tray tables. I got a bunch of work done, watched a movie, and still had battery left when I landed. Gorgeous Display The 3K OLED touchscreen is beyond amazing (2880 x 1800). The colors vibrant, the blacks are deep, and everything is just so sharp and clear. Whether I'm watching a movie, editing photos, or just surfing the web, it always looks amazing. Plus, the touchscreen is super smooth and responsive, which is a nice bonus, when you don’t feel like scrolling with the mouse. Performance The performance on this thing is no joke. With the Intel Core Ultra 7 and 32GB of RAM, it handles everything I throw at it like a champ. Editing photos, browsing the web, listening to music, multiple applications open at once and writing this review, and it performed admirably. Booting up takes just a few seconds thanks to the 1TB SSD, and file transfers are crazy fast. Keyboard and Touchpad The keyboard is comfortable to type on. The keys are well-spaced, and the backlight is really nice. The touchpad is also smooth and really responsive. I love the extra added controls on the edge of the touchpad for controlling the volume, brightness and scrolling. Battery life The battery life on this laptop is not bad at all. I’m getting roughly around 10 hours of mixed web browsing, streaming, and editing documents. As I had mentioned before, I took this laptop on a business trip and it was about a 4-hour flight, and I was able to work and play with battery left over. It does come with a 65w USB C charger which is also convenient while traveling, because it’s not big and bulky and I can also use that to charge my phone. Ports 2x Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports for super-fast data transfer, charging, and even connecting to 4K monitors 1x USB-A port for older devices 1x HDMI port for plugging into projectors or external monitors 1x 3.5mm combo audio jack for your headphones Audio I wasn't expecting much from the speakers, but they're actually pretty good – loud, clear, and with decent bass. The laptop packs 4 speakers tuned by Harmon/Kardon with Dolby Atmos, and Asus Audio Booster for a more personalized experience. Pros: • Beautiful 3K OLED Display • Ultra-Slim and Lightweight: Only .5 in thin and 2.6 lbs. • Durable Design: The ceramic-coated aluminum lid is scratch-resistant and looks amazing. • Fast and Powerful: Intel Core Ultra 7 with 32GB RAM can handle anything. • 1TB SSD Storage • All-Day Battery Life Cons: • Limited Upgradability: The RAM is soldered, so you're stuck with 32GB (not that I've needed more). Conclusion The Asus Zenbook S 14 is a perfect mix of power, portability, and design. Whether you’re a student, a creative designer, or just need a really good laptop for everyday use, this one has it all. If you want a laptop that’s light, powerful, and built to last, I can’t recommend it enough.

This laptop offers an exceptional experience for those looking for an all-day Windows laptop that goes head-to-head with the MacBook Pro! The exterior is made with “Ceraluminum” a ceramic-aluminum composite material that adds strength, is lightweight, helps cool the internal components, stays cool to the touch, and looks cool! Especially with the silver metallic inlays that line across the lid! ASUS nailed the styling on this one, giving the Zenbook S 14 a clean, professional look while still being unique and stylish. The Ceraluminum finish is also one of the most fingerprint resistant finishes I’ve tested on a laptop in ages! Even fresh off a run on a hot day it barely showed any smudges, and all just evaporated or easily wiped away! A 16:10 3K OLED screen presents itself to you after opening the lid, as well as the excellent backlit keyboard, the lid itself is nicely balanced so you can opening it with just one finger. In terms of performance: the Intel Core Ultra 7 Series 2 brings a lot of brains and brawn to the table with 8 cores and threads, enough to take on heavy lifting in a rigorous graduate school program, law school, or data processing (and email & web) intensive professional fields like law, accounting, finance, engineering, and others. The 32GBs of RAM soldered to the chip package is ultrafast and ready to help with that heavy lifting (and web intensive work/research), paired with a replaceable 1TB NVMe Gen 4x4 2280 m.2 SSD for a large amount of storage and the flexibility to expand it later. The carefully selected • I/O Options – two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C w/PD ports, but the Full size HDMI & USB-A are winners! At 72Wh, the battery is enormous for this size laptop and will help push you through all-day use under heave workloads and brighter screens, multiple days using the suggested lower power modes, and most of the work week using low-power mode! Though, the last one comes with a lot of compromises to get up to 24 hours of total batter life, like very dark screen, minimal wireless use, never touching CoPilot AI, and a few others. I tried it, ended day 3 of only battery on low-power mode, and caved because I need more than one tab open at a time! Overall, this laptop is incredible! It’s not built to be Junior’s first laptop that you plan to replace in a year or a "get you by" because someone wasn't convince you should spend more than $400 on a laptop, this is the one you buy because Junior is going into a rigorous program that will be using software that will not work on MacOS and you want something built to take a beating, perform at a high level, make the movies/shows/videos look great on screen, do all of this while lasting all day, and look good doing it! The MSRP is a little on the higher end, but so is this laptop. Its direct competition are creator laptops with dedicated GPUs, gaming laptops, MacBook Pros, and others that you buy with a purpose, this is one of those laptops. The ASUS Zenbook S 14’s purpose is ultralightweight, high performance, excellent looks, long battery life, gorgeous screen that’s oriented toward documents, ERPs & spreadsheets, but when it comes to gaming and video editing, it’ll take a little longer or lower graphics settings. I highly recommend this machine to those who are about to enter a demanding college program that you know you’ll need a powerful machine with great battery life, likely something in business, nursing, advanced medical, STEM, law, etc. or a business professional at a smaller firm that’s looking to upgrade your aging fleet of laptops to something that can run semi-advanced modeling (semi because there are still only 8 cores/8-threads… 8 items processing at a time) and operate the rest of your business tasks without worry of running our of storage or processing memory!

I've been working on a lot of mobile projects lately, and I've been wanting something more light and portable than my existing laptop, so I was very interested in trying out the Zenbook S. The unboxing experience was pretty typical for Asus. The packaging was well crafted in a minimalist sort of way, and the laptop was well-protected. My first impression was of how thin and light it felt in my hands. Other laptops I've had in the past are more "gaming"-centric and are naturally thicker, as those need hefty cooling systems. The Ceraluminum coating is honestly about as fingerprint prone as anything else, and I was hoping that wouldn't be the case. It is however, very easy to wipe down and looks great. It looks like it belongs in the executive boardroom. High quality with an understated level of luxury. As a business machine, the 14" Zenbook S has plenty of power for most mobile productivity tasks you can throw at it. The Core Ultra 7 258V isn't powerful enough to make this a full desktop replacement for anything particularly CPU-intensive, but it can easily handle multitasking of office applications and more lightweight CAD/rendering software, and applications like photoshop without any issues, and it's cool and quiet while doing so. I don't miss having to keep a cooling pad nearby to keep my legs from being burned. The 32GB of DDR5 RAM runs at 8.5Ghz. It can't be upgraded, but it's more than enough to handle anything you can do on this machine. The OLED screen is a treat to look at and has a lot of real estate, at 2880x1800 resolution with a 16:10 aspect ratio, and it's great for handling design work and desktop apps. It features a 120hz refresh rate, and is very smooth to look at. It's also a touchscreen, if that's your thing (it's not mine). Included is a 1TB NVME 2280 drive, which is upgradable should you find yourself needing more storage. Battery life is absolutely phenomenal. This thing sips power while in use, and holds it very well when it's idle. I've gone days without needing the power adapter on a few hours of intermittent work each day, where my other machine with a much bigger battery basically needs to be plugged in after a couple of hours. While I certainly wouldn't recommend this laptop as a gaming machine, I was surprised by how capable it is. It can handle indie titles and older AAA games pretty well at 1080p on medium to high settings, and it the screen scales rather nicely. As long as you're not expecting to run the latest games at high resolutions and quality, you can do a fair bit of gaming at good framerates on this machine. The laptop's marketing touts a variety of AI functions, which is honestly something that still feels like a gimmick to me. I know it's a field that's developing quickly, but I haven't quite adapted to it yet, and I fear I don't know enough about it to really offer my thoughts here. Overall, this is a fantastic machine for any professional who wants an ultralight, thin machine that can handle a bit of gaming in your downtime. I'd highly recommend it.

This Asus Zenbook S 14 has been an impressive laptop right out of the box. It's an ultraportable laptop that Asus created with a Ceraluminum finish that is a blend of ceramic and aluminum. It has a nice texture and a matte finish that seems to resist fingerprints and scratches for the week that I have been using it. It's a lightweight laptop that weighs in at 2.65 pounds, which makes it fantastic for packing up and moving around during my busy day. First thing I noticed when turning it on was the 3K OLED touchscreen 14" display. It's a vivid and vibrant screen that offers 2880 x 1800 pixel resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio, which allows for detail and sharp images. There is a variable refresh rate of 30Hz - 120Hz, which makes for a fantastic viewing quality. The touchscreen on the Asus Zenbook S 14 is precise, smooth, and responsive so it's a great way to multitask and switch between the touchpad or touch screen. The display offers a 500 nits HDR peak brightness rating, which seems decent for this level of laptop. Inside this machine is loaded with an Intel Core Ultra 7 Processor 258V. This has 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, 16GB Intel Arc graphics card, and AI infused Copilot. The battery on this laptop is surprising as it allows for 27 hours of operation, which is great for being on the go and not having to carry around a charging brick all day. There are 2 USB-C (Thunderbolt 4) ports, 1 HDMI, 1 audio 3.5mm, which are all on the left side. On the right side there is a USB-A port that is convenient for plugging in a traditional mouse for my productivity purposes. The front facing camera is a sleek design and offers 1080p30 video which makes your online videos sharp and accurate in detail. The Windows Hello camera is a great way to have a biometric login for your laptop and it works very well and very fast. Asus has made this a future proof laptop as it will allow you to connect to WiFi 7, and is also ready for Bluetooth 5.4. This laptop has four Harmon Kardon speakers and is augmented by Dolby Atmos audio. I have loved the fullness and depth of the music and videos I have been streaming, as it sounds crisp and better than most laptops I have used. I have not seen this laptop get slowed down or lagged in any way. The bootup process is a few seconds, the file transfers are fast, and the switch from program to program is immediate. I think it's a powerful machine that will be lasting for years to come and I'm getting a laptop that goes toe to toe with similar competitors. This laptop looks visually appealing, and houses a plethora of internals that will keep this machine performing well for the long term. Asus Zenbook S 14 is a practical, powerful, and aesthetically pleasant laptop.

I’ve become a big fan of ASUS over the years, and the 2025 Zenbook continues that trend. The Zenbook S 14 is a beautiful looking laptop that can handle most any task. While it lacks a dedicated laptop GPU for gaming, it more than makes up for it with killer battery life and efficiencies. If you’re looking for a light, powerful, and long-lasting non-Apple laptop this should be at the top of your list. IN THE BOX AND SETUP The packaging is de minimis. You only get a 65 W charger and the laptop. If you’ve set up a Windows computer before, the setup is familiar (which can be a little tedious). All in all, I ran into no issues on that front. DESIGN This laptop is made of ceramic, at least according to the packaging. It’s a striking steel metal gray like color. I much prefer it over a standard black laptop and it skips the colorful lighting that can be found in many gaming laptops. It is very elegant. I’m a big fan. The ceramic coating also prevents smudges and palm prints. Granted, I haven’t had the laptop that long, but I have yet to see any smudges. The top of the laptop lid has metal bars going across that looks futuristic and abstract. Again, I’m a big fan. It’s also extremely thin and light. Now, the rubber feet at the bottom do increase the width at its widest point, but they do a great job of keeping the laptop rooted on your table/desk. There’s not that many ports, just two USB-C, HDMI, headphone jack, and a standard USB-A (the rectangle one we’re all used to). I really appreciate the USB-A port as we all have old thumb drives and accessories that still use it. The keyboard is satisfying for a laptop. There’s short travel with the keys, but that’s to be expected with such a thin laptop. I had no issues typing and quite enjoyed it. The keyboard is spacious for a 14 inch laptop. No complaints there. The trackpad is plenty big and it’s very responsive, with a satisfying click. It also has some hidden functionality, you can adjust the volume of the speakers and screen brightness by sliding your finger along the edges. It’s a nice touch. SPECS This baby is rocking an Intel Arc GPU. I honestly don’t know a lot about it, but it is more than capable for handling everyday tasks (which in my mind, includes everything but video editing and gaming). You get an Intel Core Ultra 7 CPU, which is wicked fast, especially with 32 GB of RAM. This is a beast that does everything lighting quick. From cold boot up to surfing the web, it takes all of a few seconds. It has Wi-Fi 7 to handle the fastest internet speeds. But the true star of the show, the real reason to consider this laptop over a sea of other (capable) thin ultrabooks is the screen. The 3K OLED screen with refresh rate up to 120 HZ is absolutely stunning. Seriously, OLED screens are just better, and this is no exception. Colors are bright and sharp and the blacks are inky. Watching content is a joy. Finally, I’d be remiss not to mention another high point of this laptop and that’s the battery. I’ve been using an ASUS gaming laptop for my daily driver. I have no complaints but for the battery, Here, this laptop is lasting a full week and more. And I don’t always shut it down. It has fast charging with 65 W charger, so charging is a breeze. Point is, the battery can last longer than you can in one work day, and charging takes no time. Honestly, between the battery life and screen, I can highly recommend this laptop. It comes with a fancy array of microphones for video conferencing as well as a HD webcam. While I prefer a more professional setup, the equipment built in was more than adequate. PERFORMANCE AND AI It’s tough to talk about a laptop’s performance and comparing it to other without mentioning “benchmarks.” To me, what matters is real world performance. As I mentioned earlier, this laptop is appropriately specced to handle any tasks, including AI. Multiple windows, and programs open at the same time don’t seem to slow it down. I use AI on occasion, but haven’t really fully incorporated into my workflows, so I might not be the best person to talk about it, but I have been using CoPilot along with the new Microsoft Recall feature, both of which incorporate AI and I have been impressed with the processing speed - or at least the responsiveness. I can’t say for certain how that performance is specifically tied into the laptop, but all that matters is that it works and works well. Honestly, watching TVs and movies on this screen is a treat. While I use this for work and don’t typically use it after my work day, I can definitely see the appeal of using this for both work and pleasure. The speakers are good not great. For a 14 inch computer, I’m very pleased. But it’s not something you’re going to fill the room with. I haven’t installed any games on this computer to test out its gaming chops, primarily because that’s not what it’s intended to handle. SOFTWARE AND QUIRKS There is minimal bloatware, and you can still delete what you don’t want. There were a few preinstalled ASUS apps that I quickly deleted. I didn’t find the amount of software offensive. In fact, the MyAsus program is actually a great tool to help refine your computer experience and tweak your settings. For example, I went there to change the keyboard backlight settings, and fan performance. I will just add as a minor quip, that I had some difficulties getting the settings just right. When using a new laptop, the settings are different than what you’re used to, and I seemed to have a more difficult time finding how to change the settings I wanted to. Some of this is user error (maybe you know how to navigate those settings better than me) while other times it seemed more difficult than it should have been. It’s not necessarily the computer’s fault, it’s more Windows, but at the same time, some of the issues were in the ASUS app. Bottomline is, it took me a little time to get the computer tailored to my needs. CONCLUSION If you’re looking for a durable, sharp looking laptop that is lightweight and can handle most any task at lightning speed, look no further than this ASUS Zenbook. I’ve been really impressed with the build quality as well as the performance. Battery life and the screen alone are reasons to get this laptop. I’ve had zero complaints and have been really impressed with it.

I really like this Zenbook S 14 so far. It is a beast under the keys but a lightweight machine. I think I am officially done with MacBooks now thanks to this laptop. It has the form-factor of an Air but (mostly) the performance of a Pro. In several ways I like it better then my MBP 14” M4. Starting with the Form: -It is extremely lightweight, less than 2.7 pounds and less than ½” thick -Beautiful lid in a matte silver with glossy chrome streaks that form the ASUS logo -The laptop body is so lightweight and premium feeling which is likely due to ASUS’ use of “Ceraluminum” which meshes ceramic and aluminum materials -The keyboard has good travel and feels good as I type this -The screen is incredible. The 3K resolution, OLED technology, and 120Hz refresh rate make everything look fantastic. The Pantone-validated color reproduction looks great as well. -It has all the ports I need - 2 USB-C Thunderbolt 4, one USB-A, an HDMI 2.1, and an audio jack. As far as Performance goes: -I’ve yet to hear the fans turn on! I also have not bogged the system down. I’ve had four Chrome windows with 3-8 tabs each, Spotify App, Settings app open, Performance Manager, and Excel all open at once and noticed no lag or overheating issues. With 32GB of RAM I wouldn’t expect any issues anyway. Plus the RAM is ultra fast LPDDR5X running at 8533MHz! -So as far as form goes, it is very similar to the MB Air M4, but when it comes to performance it is nearly as good as my MBP 14” M4. It is just as fast and snappy, the screen is actually better on the ASUS, plus it is much thinner and lighter than the MBP. The biggest difference is video performance. The ASUS will do most of what you want but a new MBP M4 may have a slight edge. The battery life has been outstanding! I’ve only charged it once in the 10 days I’ve had it. To be clear, I am using it casually, it’s not my work laptop or anything. This still says a lot about the standby battery life though. It seems to be very similar to the battery life I’ve gotten from my MBP M4. ASUS also included a nice feature on the trackpad. You are able to swipe the top, from the middle to the left to go back a track or to the right to skip ahead. Similarly you can swipe the left edge up and down for volume controls and the right edge to adjust the screen brightness. Now those options are often available on the function keys but I found this to be a convenient location for these controls. I use two 4K 32” 165hz External Monitors and a docking station for much of my computing needs. This ASUS Zenbook can push 1440p and 165hz to both monitors through on one USB-C Thunderbolt 4 port. This is a big upgrade for me because it is much cleaner for my setup to have once cable do the work of two. If I want 4K though I have to use the HDMI port though for some reason right now I can only get 4K @ 60Hz. I just bought two HDMI to Thunderbolt 5 cables that I tried on this Vivobook to see if I could get 4K at a higher refresh rate at the same time and was able to get 4K @ 165Hz to both monitors! Overall this is a beautiful laptop (one of my favorites) that is very lightweight and powerful. This ASUS has the best weight to performance ratio of any laptop I’ve used. I’m so glad to see Windows laptops finally able to compete with Apple on battery life and performance. I would absolutely recommend this laptop to students, casual users, casual gamers, photography enthusiasts, really just about anyone.

My first positive impression from the Asus Zenbook S 14 was opening the box and seeing packaging that one could appreciate and know that someone put meaningful thought into a nice presentation while still using recyclable materials that were very effective in keeping the product safe also. Nice job on someone’s part. I had been giving some thought to going the route of a Macbook simply for integration with other Apple products I own. After using this laptop I feel it is a contender in terms of build quality, looks and specs. The case material is high-tech ceramic or Ceraluminum which is a fusion of ceramic and aluminum touted for lightness, scratch resistance, strength and a sleek, smooth feel that I really do like, in addition to not being a fingerprint magnet either. The silver, metallic lines and Asus Zenbook label provide a nice bit of flash without being gaudy looking. In addition to the aesthetics and quality, the specs of the Zenbook S 14 make me think I really can appreciate sticking with a Windows based product. This laptop brings back a touchscreen that I missed from one of my previous laptops. I just find this a convenient feature that I use routinely for certain applications. The 14” OLED 3K screen is stunning with very good color depiction via Pantone-validation; just an enjoyable viewing experience for videos and movies. One standout compared to my previous two laptops is the sound quality of this laptop. It is appreciably better and one doesn’t have to max out the volume just to end up with poor audio quality. At half volume, the four Harmon/Kardon and Dolby Atmos tuned speakers put out the best laptop sound I have experienced in the many laptops I have owned. Other standout aspects of The Zenbook S 14 is its thin portability and 2.65 pound weight, yet it still has a very sturdy feel with no cheap flex to the laptop case. Keyboard feel is very nice with great backlighting options, and the trackpad is a nice size with good responsiveness. I do miss the usual home, end, and pg up/pgdn down buttons, but not a deal breaker by any means. Touchpad Smart Gestures exist for controls such as audio levels, video playback, and brightness. It is appreciably quieter than my current Asus laptop with no prevalent fan noise. Port selection offers great options with two Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1 monitor output, USB-C, USB Type-A and an audio jack. I’ve been quite happy with the processing power of this Zenbook S 14 and it has more than met my requirements for a multitude of tasks. Price is up there but the Intel Core Ultra 7 Series 2 processor, 32GB of memory and a 1TB SSD really do future proof this laptop and make its performance so much better. Note that the RAM is not upgradeable so opt for the 32GB. Battery life has exceeded my expectations and features Fast Charge technology to 69% in 49 minutes. As a Copilot+ PC AI integration offers improvements to Windows features with security features related to Windows Hello, password storage, Microsoft Pluton encryption and Asus Adaptive Lock to secure one’s PC when you step away. Asus has put together a quality laptop with some very enjoyable, standout features that I would highly recommend. For home or travel use I think you’ll find the Zenbook S 14 a really nice option.

The ASUS Zenbook S 14 is a incredibly solid ultraportable laptop that strikes an impressive balance between aesthetics, performance, and portability. After using this laptop for about a week, I can say that this is a strong option in the premium ultrabook market. This particular Zenbook S 14 is equipped with the Intel Core Ultra 7 processor and 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM, enabling it to deliver a remarkably fluid and responsive computing experience. Everyday tasks, from browsing the web with numerous tabs to intensive office suite work, are handled with ease. The integrated Intel Arc graphics, combined with the Core Ultra 7's NPU, provides decent performance for creative applications, photo editing, and even light to moderate gaming. While it's not a dedicated gaming machine (and isn’t marketed as such), titles like CS:GO or League of Legends run smoothly at respectable frame rates in my experience. The gen4 1TB PCIe SSD provides quick boot times and application loading, contributing to the overall snappy performance of the S 14. The CPU on tap here, the Intel Core Ultra 7 Series 2 chip, focuses heavily on efficiency and AI capabilities, which makes it a great pairing with Windows 11 and its new AI driven features and applications. And it provides fluid all around performance to boot, serving as a viable competitor to Snapdragon’s latest X Elite processors. ASUS has a reputation for building PCs with great build quality, and the Zenbook S 14 is no exception, while bringing an incredible design language to the table as well. The "Zumaia Gray" finish, with a “Ceraluminum” material on the lid, not only looks great but also feels premium to the touch. This material is said to be lighter and stronger than traditional anodized aluminum, contributing to the laptop's light and slim profile. The chassis gives the touch of a high level of precision and durability, feeling rigid without any noticeable flex. Aside from the aesthetic design on the lid, the overall design is pretty minimalist, making this an attractive laptop to tote around. Aside from design and build quality of the S 14, the defining feature for me is the display. The OLED screen is simply put amazing. As expected with an OLED display, it delivers deep “inky” blacks, making everything from dark movie scenes to bright graphics pop with amazing depth. Colors are visually vibrant and pop off the screen. And given the 100% DCI-P3 color coverage and PANTONE validation, you can assume great color accuracy, making it an ideal choice for content creators, content consumers, photographers, and anyone who appreciates a visually rich experience. While the peak brightness here is a modest 500 nits, the display remains legible even in fairly brightly lit environments. The 120Hz refresh rate of this screen, in conjunction with the CPU performance discussed earlier, makes a noticeable difference in smoothness, whether you're scrolling through documents, browsing the web, or taking on some light gaming. Overall, this all leads to a more fluid and enjoyable visual experience and it’s a display that elevates the entire computing experience. The backlit keyboard on the Zenbook S 14 offers a comfortable typing experience with decent key travel of 1.1mm. While some might prefer slightly more travel, the keys feel responsive and well-spaced, making long typing sessions less fatiguing. The precision touchpad is large and incredibly smooth, allowing for accurate multi-finger gestures and precise cursor control. It is very responsive, though it lacks the haptic functionality of some competitors like the Macbook series of laptops, instead relying on a physical buttons for clicks. This is a slight disappointment if I’m honest, but thankfully, the touchpad overall works well in spite of lacking haptic functionality. For an ultraportable, the Zenbook S 14 offers a decent selection of ports. You get two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, which are incredibly versatile; they can support display output and power delivery in addition to high-speed data transfer (up to 40Gbps). There's also a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port, which is always welcome for connecting legacy peripherals, an HDMI 2.1 port for external displays, and a 3.5mm combo audio jack. While the exclusion of an SD card reader is notable, fortunately USB dongle SD card readers are cheap and easy to come by. This mixture of ports covers most everyday needs for a modern ultrabook, striking a solid balance between slimness and functionality. Beyond the ports, the inclusion of Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 ensures a strong and reliable wireless connection, whether to your other devices or to your router. Wi-Fi 7, for those that have a compatible router, really ups the game for wireless internet connectivity and ensures the Zenbook S 14 has the best possible internet experience. Overall, the ASUS Zenbook S 14 is an exceptionally well-rounded laptop. Its brilliant 3K 120Hz OLED display, combined with its strong performance, premium build and design, comfortable keyboard and touchpad, and respectable port selection, makes it an ideal choice for professionals and creatives who prioritize portability without compromising on power, looks or screen quality.

This laptop is very light in terms of weight, which is great for travel. being a 14 inch laptop it weights less than my XPS 13 my other travel laptop. And the XPS 13 is really a very light laptop. Asus offers the facial login but there is no the fingerprint login option. The keyboard can be illuminated with three levels of brightness. Regarding other helpful option keys there is a dedicated key for the camera shut off and a separate one to mute the microphone, which is very handy. Another handy function button is the emoji button on the F8, which in addtion to a whole set of emojis offers also a library of GIFs. The F12 button provides a shortcut to the ASUS app MyAsus which allows to do a custom setup and diagnostics. Regarding the touch pad i read reviews that the touch pad is not a haptic type, but to my experience so far it works fine for me and provides ample feedback. The touch pad also allows for secondary controls to adjust the sound level, screen brightness directly on the touch pad by sliding a finger on both sides of the touch pad, which i find a very convenient alternative to hitting the function keys for the same. the top of the touch pad allows to skip forward or back any played media, like say Youtube and the like. Here is the caveat though, this Asus does not have the dedicated function keys for the media play like play or pause, forward and back. The touch pad media function does not provide for play or pause, only for skipping 5 seconds forward or back. Regarding the sound quality, i was pleasantly surprised how well rounded this laptop sounds. Maybe because i was not expecting too much, being such a thin laptop and having 4 speakers each with only 1 watt power. But it did not sound cheap or thin, the sound was very acceptable. If it comes to the screen brightness level even though the specs say 400 nits in the SDR mode, for me it is sufficiently bright, even outside. Appears much brighter than what the 400 nits would suggest. The laptop comes with a charger that is relatively small, not a large brick like some other laptops. the charging cable is permanently attached to the charger is is about 77 inches long (about 6 1/2 Foot long). The other end of the charging cable ends with a USB-C as the laptop does not have a dedicated separate charging port. so if you want to charge it, you will need to use one of the two available USB-C ports on the left side of the laptop. Charging happens relatively quickly. Regarding the battery life i had the screen on the top brightness level, doing light work like setting apps, using the internet browser and watching some videos and the laptop lasted me for good 8 hours of work with a decent amount of battery left after i finished my work. Looks to me like it should last for the entire day with no problem. Overall I am happy with it so far, it is a very light laptop with a bright screen, long battery life, has a touch screen which was important to me. The speakers are very decent for its thin size, don't sound cheap. I had Asus laptops before and they all served me well without any hiccups and I expect the same or more from this laptop.

This is the fourth ASUS laptop I’ve reviewed for TIN since I’ve been part of the program. Three Zenbooks and a ROG gaming laptop. This will make the seventh laptop I’ve reviewed. So far, I think this is the nicest laptop I’ve reviewed. Not fastest. The Acer Predator Helios holds that title as expected for a gaming laptop. But this Zenbook is no slouch either. Build quality is first class as is the Pantone certified OLED touch screen display and speaker system. Battery life is amazing for average use. Comes well packed in an eco-friendly box. I’m not going to requote specs and try to explain exactly what a Copilot+PC is, other than to say that they are geared towards improving and speeding up apps that use AI. Some things MS shows on their site seem gimmicky. Like using the Paint app to turn a scribble into AI art. Clean up the audio on a call or blur the background in a video chat. Also of note, All Intel Ultra CPUs have an NPU. This helps keep AI processing on the PC as opposed to relying on AI processing taking place on a remote server. The Intel Ultra CPUs used on this laptop and several others on the series, are on a tile with the CPU, GPU, NPU and system memory on it and interconnected. More like a module, they come in 8, 16 and 32 GB versions and it’s why the memory is not upgradable. Adobe Apps including Bridge, Lightroom Classic, Photoshop, Audition and Premiere Pro ran smoothly with a stutter being very rare, even on battery power. When I got the laptop, I was under the impression that it being a Copilot+PC with an NPU (Neural Processing Unit) that it would really fly on Adobe apps I use the most like LRC, Ps and Pr. It seemed to do well compared to my Acer Helios with an Intel Core i9 14900HX CPU and Nvidia RTX4060. But I expected better because of the NPU. Turns out that even though Adobe is using some form AI in those apps for editing, they are not using the NPU on Intel and AMD devices. Only ARM Snapdragon on Copilot+PCs. And I assume that Intel and AMD will follow. I searched Adobe’s site and online for an answer but never found exactly the answer I was looking for concerning updates for new AI chips like what is in this machine. Adobe kept sending me to info on Firefly, their generative AI. However, I’d say they will implement the NPU for their apps in the future considering the number of PCs that use Intel and AMD chips. Here are some LRC times for batching out 36 photos from Canon EOS R, CR3 raw image files to jpg files on the Zenbook and the Helios for comparison. Plugged in: Exported 36 enhanced files 45 seconds On Battery: Exported above 1:01 Plugged in Acer Helios: Same files, 17.7 seconds I also use Affinity Photo2, Designer2 and Publisher2. It runs those app as smooth as butter. Other uses like web browsing, watching videos and using Office 360 for Word, won’t even kick on the fans. Plugged in or battery. Here's the specs from ASUS on that beautiful 3K OLED touch screen. It can be set to automatically set the brightness and adjust the color (white balance) depending on ambient light. “14.0-inch, 3K (2880 x 1800) OLED 16:10 aspect ratio, 0.2ms response time, 120Hz refresh rate, 500nits HDR peak brightness, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, 1,000,000:1, 1.07 billion colors, PANTONE Validated, Glossy display, 70% less harmful blue light, SGS Eye Care Display, Touch screen, (Screen-to-body ratio)90%, With stylus support” My only complaint about it is reflections in a well-lit room depending on how the light is hitting it. Who & what is Pantone? Here’s what they say about themselves: “In 1963, Pantone revolutionized the printing industry with the colorful PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM®, an innovative tool allowing for the faithful selection, articulation and reproduction of consistent, accurate color anywhere in the world. The tool organizes color standards through a proprietary numbering system and chip format, which have since become iconic to the Pantone.” From paint to fabrics and about anything else, there’s a Pantone color for it. They set the standard. They also own X-Rite. I use an industry standard X-Rite color checker in my photography work when it must be as perfect as possible. See photos. This Zenbook has to be the best sounding laptop I’ve ever reviewed or heard, and for a good reason. It has 4 Harman/Kardon speakers and Dolby Atmos. Decent bass considering the size and clean highs. Note that the audio quality can vary greatly depending on what you have the laptop sitting on. If you were to be sitting in bed with it propped up on your arched legs, or lying flat, it will probably sound a bit muffled as the covers will absorb the sound. Especially the high frequency range. Set it on a flat table or countertop where the speakers on the bottom can reflect the sound without anything to absorb it and it will sound its best. It runs cool and very quiet too. It has a specially engineered grill at the top below the display that is part of its ambient cooling tech, 2 fans and an ultra thin vapor chamber for cooling on the bottom. See thermal camera photos. Build quality is superb, solid and feels it too. Very light, slim and strong. Not twisting, creaking and the keyboard doesn’t feel mushy anywhere. See specs for details. I like how the keyboard feels too. The keys have 1.1mm of travel, but it feels longer. A good thing in my book. The keys are backlit white with 4 levels including off. This can be set to automatically turn the backlight on and off based on ambient lighting conditions. The keys are easy to see and read when the backlight is off, unlike the first Zenbook I reviewed in 2020. When the backlight was off, the lettering was almost invisible. On the other hand, I wish that the backlight was dimmer on the lowest setting like the Zenbook I reviewed last year, perfect levels on it. Maybe a firmware update can fix this pet peeve. Three USB ports are adequate considering how many accessories are Bluetooth or WiFi. There are 2 USB C Thunderbolt ports that can be used for charging as well as one USB A port. Also, an HDMI and combo 8th inch audio port. One thing that’s missing is an SD or a micro SD card reader, I wish it had that. Great for photographers and this would be an excellent laptop for them! The large multi touch, touchpad can be configured to do several things, such as volume and brightness control. Windows Hello works very well, and I like how you can set it up to dim and then turn off the screen when you’re not looking at it, and back on when you do. Cool! Conclusion: Very Highly Recommended! It's not cheap, but I feel you get what you pay for and then some. If Adobe and other software companies optimize their programs to take advantage of the NPU, This Zenbook will be even better!

This laptop was purchased seven weeks ago. So far, it's been the best performing PC I've ever had. The 32 GB RAM make a noticeable difference in performance. I've had one freeze up, but at the time I had 6 spreadsheets open, and 6 or 7 browser windows with anywhere from 20 to 80 or so tabs open all at the same time. A reboot took care of that, and all my tabs were saved. The display is crisp, low light adjustment needs to be made; I haven't looked into that, yet. The feel of the keyboard is sweet, a minor adjustment in keyboard layout from my HP took some getting used to, but the HP is now in my workshop, and this ASUS is my main unit for spreadsheets, most browsing, videos, etc. Battery life has been exceptional. I haven't measured it against the specs, but there are times I'll spend 4 to 8 hours over two days working on my monthly spreadsheets, and additional hours browsing, unplugged all the while, and never powered down. I got down to 30% twice so far. This is my first ASUS, and it was nicely appointed with features.

At first impression of having on hand and setting up, the zenbook feels light and simple due to its hardware and look. Its minimalistic design with weight of 2.65 pound, slim, and superb screen make it quite tempting look and feel. Its specifications: - Zenbook S 14” - OLED Touch Screen - 1 TB SSD - Intel Core Ultra 7 EVO Edition - Memory 32GB - Color Zumala Gray The internal display specification consist of: - Desktop Mode 2880 x 1800, 60 Hz or 120 Hz - Active Signal Mode 2880 x 1800, 120 Hz - Variable refresh rate Supported (48 Hz - 120 Hz) - Color Format RGB - Color Space High dynamic range (HDR) - HDR Certification VESA DisplayHDR, Dolby Vision - Peak brightness 616 nits - Connected to Intel (R) Arc (TM) 140V GPU (16GB) Sound Properties: Speaker 2 Cirrus Logic XU (with APO Extensions) Microphone Array Intel Smart Sound Technology for Digital Microphones, Support 2 Channels, 24 bit, 48000 Hz (Studio Quality) Camera: FHD camera with IR function to support Windows Hello Network - Intel(R) WiFi 7 BE201 330 MHz Neural Processor Intel (R) AI Boost Battery 72WHrs, 2S2P, 4-cell-Li-ion As per the list of hardware specification, make it quite compelling notebook for multimedia and AI capabilities for the end users. Now after going through a window process to update missing updates, which took me about half day to complete with all of updates, as side note in this regard, I noticed the existing system update of file goes to 01/05/2023, which probably the reason that took that long all the updates. The list of update files were about 20, Not sure if this is from ASUS or Microsoft, but considering a latest hardware, come to ask what is doing an firmware update from 2023 on 2025 model. After all the setting is done, start using it has to be compared to the normal and standard of Microsoft OS context. Not very different to any other brand or model from that aspect. What makes noticeable unique to the Asus Zenbook during the usage are: - Its fast response to multi task as switching between different windows, - Screen quality is for movies and working on documents -Copilot responsiveness as throwing questions and next different tasks. Although it is conditioned to the wifi connectivity and how it is stable, the response was quick to show. From the Edge at least, enabling the copilot, it directly open a side region with option create summary or expand on topic of viewing content, or type the question in the form of chat bot. -Its sound is clean and the effect that creates based on the movie sound is impressive coming from small size of speaker. As per Asus, the speaker is from Harman Kardon but from the notebook could’t find its logo. But with the speaker placed at the top of the keyboard, the sound does the directional effect from right to center to left and around making a good listening experience. - Then the feeling of the material Ceraluminum gives a crafted sense and easy to grab, not slippery, doesn’t show fingerprints, and light to grab with one hand. On the other hand, the keyboard and trackpad doesn’t feel quite responsive as I would have liked. -Keyboard: It doesn’t the bouncing effect that make comfortable typing, -Trackpad: double click feels sort of stucked when it is used. Have to try couple of time often. And while typing, the control of volume or screen light is changed as the hands are overreaching the edges of trackpad. Hence if user has big hand, mostly it will impact higher. Then as odd observation, the Power button is not the first button, it is before or the button Delete, this being the first button from the right. And the screen reflection is very high if it is used there is good lighting. Regarding the touchscreen, I find it useful and it work ok. but considering it is not totally turnable screen, use cases has been minor during my usage. To conclude, I think the impact of keyboard and trackpad is higher if the main purpose of usage is working on documents and typing a lot. But if it is focused on multimedia with AI experience and gaming, it is quite small but powerful notebook.

The ASUS Zenbook S 14 is one of the most impressive laptops I’ve ever used. At first pick-up, the weight is almost unbelievable—amazingly light for the amount of power inside. Despite the slim and portable design, battery life goes far beyond what I expected, easily lasting through long workdays without a charger. Performance-wise, it feels like a workstation-level PC condensed into a sleek form factor. I regularly use it for coding, where compilation times and multitasking are smooth thanks to the Intel Core Ultra 7 and 32GB of RAM. On top of that, gaming is a joy—the 3K OLED touchscreen delivers rich colors and depth that really stand out, and the system handles demanding titles far better than I thought an ultralight could. Between its portability, stunning display, long-lasting battery, and powerhouse performance, the Zenbook S 14 strikes a rare perfect balance. It’s equally at home in professional workflow and high-end entertainment, making it an exceptional daily driver.

I’ve test-driven just about every 14-inch laptop currently on the market, and for a Windows PC, this is a wonderful machine. Snappy processor, fantastic build (LOVE ceraluminum!), excellent battery life, and super portable. The touch display is gorgeous, but distractingly reflective. Great keyboard. The mechanical trackpad is large but has some issues with palm rejection, even at the lowest sensitivity. Out of all the OEMs I’ve dealt with, MyAsus is probably the least intrusive and easiest to navigate. I’m a heavy 365 multitasker (no creative work on this; I save that for my MacBook Pro so I didn’t even install my creative apps) and while it occasionally did get warm, I didn’t experience any lags or extreme overheating. Very minimal fan noise as well. If Windows is a necessary evil for your use case, I highly recommend this machine over pretty much any of the other ultraportables available.

The ASUS Zenbook S 14 3K OLED Laptop is designed for those who are seeking performance, an immersive experience and portability. Whether you’re looking to edit videos, designing graphics, or you are an office power user, the ASUS Zenbook S 14 checks all the boxes. Unboxing & Setup: In the box is the laptop, a one-piece charging cord with a 65W charging block and warranty paperwork and user’s manual. The laptop was well packaged for protection in shipping and the box material is recycled, which is a plus. Setup was easy with just a Windows update that wanted to run before being ready to use. First Impressions: This is a really well-built laptop, the Ceraluminum shell is aesthetically pleasing and stands up to use on the go…in fact it meets military grade certification. I got this laptop just in time for a trip and its slim design was appreciated when carrying in my backpack and when using it on a tray table on my flight. The 3K OLED touch display is vivid and crisp and the touch functionality responds without any lag. Whether you’re editing photos, watching movies, or working on creative projects, the visuals are breathtaking, and the colors are rich and true. The backlit keyboard is full-sized, and the trackpad is a good size and features smart gestures to support video playback, screen brightness and more. The Harman / Kardon and Dolby Atmos tuned audio system compliments the OLED screen with immersive multi-directional surround sound output. Specs & Performance: The Intel Core Ultra 7 series 2 processor paired with 32GB of RAM and an Intel Arc Graphics card delivers outstanding multitasking power and creative capabilities supported by AI. The Zenbook never slowed when running and switching between multiple applications. There’s 1TB of SSD based storage to handle even the largest files and boots up instantly. There are 2 x Thunderbolt, 1 x HDMI and 1 x USB-A ports built in, which is a plus given the slim built of this laptop. This is a Copilot+ laptop so it’s future-proofed with AI based technology to simplify demanding applications and provides professional-level performance. Battery life is the best I have ever seen in a feature-packed laptop of this size. ASUS claims 27 hours, and that is a realistic figure. As mentioned, I used this laptop while traveling and it literally ran for multiple days of sporadic use without needing to be plugged in. The power cord and charging brick is relatively compact to align with the design of the Zenbook, so it fits well into a backpack and charges at a 65W max and topped off the battery quickly when used. Overall Thoughts: The ASUS Zenbook S 14 OLED is a versatile feature-packed and slim laptop that caters to creators, gamers, and professionals alike. With its sleek design, impressive specs, and stunning OLED 3K touch display, it’s a laptop that sparks creativity and elevates your computing experience. Pros: • Brilliant OLED display is the centerpiece of this laptop • Copilot+ laptop to assist in all aspects of creativity and work • Powerful with 32GB of RAM and 1TB SSD storage • Touch screen is accurate and provides an alternative to the touchpad • Speakers tuned by Harman/Kardon provide an immersive experience • Impressive build-quality with a sleek overall design and Ceraluminum case • Touch pad with Smart Gestures is responsive and helps to increase productivity • Multiple ports including USB-C/Thunderbolt 4, HDMI and USB-A Cons: • The touchpad haptic touch needed more pressure than other laptops In summary, if you’re looking for a laptop that combines power, style, and versatility, the ASUS Zenbook S 14 3K OLED is an excellent choice that I would recommend to anyone.

Having owned previous versions of the ASUS Zenbook and being quite pleased with the build quality, performance & aesthetics I presumed this new version would be more of the same and it certainly is that. My specific model is the Zenbook S14 UX5406 and my absolute first impression upon unboxing the unit is the unique look of the exterior & how thin they have been able to keep the chassis. The exterior material has an unusual look & feel that I have not experienced, it feels as though it is metal but feels as though it is something else at the same time. ASUS refers to it as an all new material called Ceraluminum, a mixture somehow of aluminum & ceramic which sounds odd but is amazing at keeping fingerprints and scratches from appearing. The rest of the laptop features an all-metal build and there is no flex found anywhere on the laptop and can easily be opened with a single finger with no problem. Although being just 1.2cm thick, ASUS managed to install an HDMI 2.1 port, dual USB Type-C ports, a USB Type-A port, and a 3.5mm combo audio jack. My specific model comes with an 14" 3K OLED Touch display w/120hz refresh rate that does not dissapoint as it is has great color & brightness and is HDR & Dolby Vision capable as well as being Pantone certified. The keyboard is the only thing that does not feel on the premium side being a backlit chiclet style that just feels a bit thin on each click but may not bother most folks however the touchpad is smooth & fast & supports multigesture which is handy at times. Inside the display is a 1080p IR webcam which performs solidly. As far as sound goes ASUS has installed a 4 speaker Harmon Kardon system with Dolby Atmos support which is very nice compared to most other laptops. The Intel Core Ultra 7 with 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM has soo far worked flawlessly and handled any task I have thrown at it. From the limited amount of research I have done soo far it does not appear that the RAM can be upgraded however the 32GB should be fine for almost anyone. Although you would assume the battery drainage would be substantial it has been surprisingly lite on usage. Connectivity wise you are equipped with Bluetooth 5.4 and WiFi 7 which I have been able to take advantage of and it is blazingly fast. Soo far I love this Ultralight and it has now become my daily machine due to the looks and performance. I would recommend this laptop to my mom and if its good enough for her its good enough for anyone!

The Zenbook S14 is overall an excellent laptop for most people, with great build quality, battery life, a surprisingly good integrated GPU, and a fantastic display. To address the pros of the laptop first, it is very light but doesn’t compromise on build quality at all. It feels like a sturdy and premium laptop the moment you pick it up and hold it in your hands. It is very portable and it fits easily into any backpack. It also provides a great experience with a decent keyboard, enough ports (including one USB A port), and a beautiful 3K screen. This generation of Intel processors has really focused on efficiency and battery life so the battery life is much better than other Intel-based laptops I’ve used before. With that said, the increased focus on efficiency has made the performance a bit lackluster, especially considering that it has an Intel Ultra 7 CPU and 32GB of RAM. The performance should be enough for the majority of users, like office workers and people who do lots of multitasking on the internet, Microsoft Office programs, etc. It was just not quite enough performance for my needs, but it’s a close to perfect laptop for most people.
