    Reliable and Easy-to-Setup Mesh WiFi!

Reliable and Easy-to-Setup Mesh WiFi! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently upgraded to the ASUS ZenWiFi AXE7800 WiFi 6E Tri-band Mesh Router (3-Pack), and it has been a game-changer for my home network. Setting it up was a breeze—the ASUS app guided me step by step, and I had the whole system running within minutes. Before installing this, I struggled with dead zones and inconsistent speeds, especially in larger areas of my house. Now, my WiFi coverage is seamless, and I get strong, stable connections in every room, even in areas where I previously had weak signals. The WiFi 6E support makes a noticeable difference, especially when streaming 4K videos and gaming, with significantly lower latency and faster speeds. If you’re looking for a reliable, high-performance mesh system that’s easy to set up and delivers top-tier speeds, I highly recommend this one!

It was a little wonky first few days after setup. It wasn’t giving correct speeds and disconnecting from each other. But after a few days and restarting them, it just started working by itself and now it’s all good. I did have to wire my desktop into the satellite router because for some reason it was slower than my old setup over WiFi. (Other devices had great speed) App is nice to have as well as the different status leds to see what issues are going on. Overall great purchase and am able to get speeds I pay for now.

I have a large home and needed to expand my wireless network. the Asus AXE7800 nodes paired without any issues to my Asus Rogue router. The set up was easy to follow, Asus has a very capable admin site to customize settings. My home has no dead spots now!!! I have one node on each level of my home. I even have coverage in my garage and outside on my property.

I have a small house, but it has concrete block walls. My prior router was great in the main room, but lacked coverage in the other rooms. I bought the 3 pack AXE7800 and it has OK coverage, where I had none, but the speed is slowed and the range to reach out in the yard is minimal. I think this is a good router, but not worth $400 plus, but I bought it on sale. It was very wonkier to set up, where their admin site refused to accept a password that met all of the criteria. It looks about 3 hours on the phone, but I could reach someone. They are clearly off US shore and were not very friendly, but adequate.

Solid, would recommend, however I wish the technology allowed me to choose how the mesh units would link together. Even the furthest away unit will link to the primary unit if it’s in range, even though it is possible for mesh units to connect off of each other. My understanding is that this is an issue with the technology in general though and not an ASUS specific feature that is missing.

      Dear EdnaR,

      Thank you for your comment.

We do understand your disappointment with these Mesh routers and the inconvenience this may have caused if you are experiencing connection problems worst than before. To resolve this issue, place the routers in the center of the area you want to cover, avoid placing the router near metal objects, electronic devices or direct sunlight, position the router on a flat, hard surface and halfway between the floor and ceiling. Additionally, dense building materials, such as gypsum, concrete walls and planks can affect Wi-Fi signal penetration. Also, we recommend updating the Mesh router firmware if it is running with an older version. Firmware is available for download at:  https://www.asus.com/us/networking-iot-servers/whole-home-mesh-wifi-system/zenwifi-wifi-systems/asus-zenwifi-axe7800/helpdesk_bios?model2Name=ASUS-ZenWiFi-AXE7800. For helpful tips on how to setup these Mesh routers properly, please visit our Product Support page at:  https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1045754/ . Check if the router's security credentials matches with your ISP's modem security information. Additionally, check if the PC or device connecting to the router is working properly and within range to the router, the router is within 30 feet to the ISP's modem, if not wired with a network cable, and ISP's internet service or connection is working properly or stable. Legacy devices may not work properly with WIFI-6e, please check updates for these devices. Also, try connecting this manually to either 2.4GHz or 5GHz.

      Dear GregB,

      Thank you for your comment.

We certainly understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused if the router stop working after a month of usage. To resolve the issue, try to power cycle both router and your ISP's modem, and check the router's security credentials matches with your ISP's modem credentials. Additionally, try to reset the router and reconfigure its settings. If the problem persists after doing the troubleshooting tips and further assistance, please email me at [email protected] and I would be more than happy to help. An access point on my network finally gave out and I wanted to try this mesh system from Asus. So I disconnected everything from my network and started the setup process via the Asus App on my iphone. Setup via the app was a breeze. Any of the 3 units can be the main router so it does not matter which one you choose first to be the main router during initial setup. (I tried all three as a router) After setup was complete and the mesh access points were placed around the house, I connected my pc directly to the main router via ethernet cable. I did an internet speed and jitter test at cloudflare. Normally I get exceptional results. Eg. 980mb down 115 mb up with 12 ms ping and very low jitter loaded and unloaded and ZERO packet loss. I have never seen packet loss on my internet connection with my old routers. However on the Asus ZenWiFi mesh router my speeds were about the same but the jitter was more than double on loaded test and packet loss was consistantly 20-50%! No matter what I did or no matter the settings I tried or different cables I was always seeing severe packet loss. To be certain it was the Asus ZenWiFi I simply unplugged it from the cable modem (rebooted it) and plugged my old router (Protectlii v1610 running opnsense). And immediately the connection was perfect again. So I pulled it off the cable modem and tried the ZenWifi again and bam..again unacceptable loss and jitter. And to be clear...there was NOTHING else attached or connected to the network. Just one pc via ethernet. That's ok..because I really only wanted the access point capability of these units and still wanted to use my Protectlii vault v1610 as the router. To use as an access point (non mesh because I wanted to run network segmentation, first reset each unit with the reset button on the bottom one at a time WITH EACH OF THE OTHER UNITS TURNED OFF. Once reset is complete on one unit, turn it off then turn on another one and reset it then turn it off. Next turn on one unit (and only one unit at a time can't stress this enough). And connect to it via ethernet cable to on of the lan ports on the back. (Do NOT set it up via the Asus app) Connect to 192.168.50.1 and set it up as an access point. Then turn IT OFF before you turn on the next one to configure it as an access point. Am I emphasizing it enough..only do i unit at a time with the others turned off. Otherwise it'll try to mesh. Once all three were configured to be an access point I turned on all three and placed them where I wanted and used ethernet cables to connect them all to my router. As access points these are awesome. Exactly the performance I want. Awesome coverage incredibly fast and reliable wifi connections with No Packet Loss and acceptable jitter on wifi. Connecting to the access point via ethernet cable gives perfect performance and quality of connection like I would expect. So I did some research and it looks like others are suffering from the same problem with these units. I think maybe there are just too many services running on the cpu in router mode causing it to just puke the bed. But again as access points (which was all I really needed anyways) These rock. P.S. I also tried testing the connetion by having the mesh units turned off...did not matter still a bad connection. I cannot recommend this as a router unit if anyone in your household does online gaming. But as access points on segmented networks Full Thumbs Up.

Overall great! Easy to connect and get started. Did have an issue about 6 months in, where I lost connection and it wouldn’t reset. Had to return and they determined it was defective. Outside of that, I’m able to connect 20+ devices all over our house/property and speeds are good!

I'm glad I stumbled upon this WiFi mesh system. Initially, I bought the Eero Pro 6E 3-pack but ran into issues with the third router not connecting. I planned to exchange it, but there was no stock available. That's when I came across the Asus ZenWiFi AXE7800. Despite some mixed reviews on Best Buy, I decided to give it a try, especially since it's geared towards gamers and covers up to 7,500 square meters, which was perfect for reaching my backyard. When I got home, I was excited to set it up, but it took hours and was challenging. It kept saying the mesh wasn't compatible with my network, and I use AT&T Fiber. I was on the verge of returning it, but I decided to give it one more shot. I called customer service, and after 30-45 minutes of troubleshooting, it finally connected. I was amazed by the WiFi speed, which was consistently between 300-400 Mbps with no lag and a stable connection. Then, I installed the app and was thrilled to find out that the VPN and parental controls are free! That's a huge bonus since many other mesh systems charge a subscription fee for these features. Now, two weeks in, the system is still going strong. This is by far the best mesh I've used, outperforming Google WiFi, Orbi (which gave me issues after the free Armor subscription ended), and the Eero Pro 6E (which I found unstable and too subscription-focused). I hope this review helps others who are searching for a reliable, headache-free mesh system.

Asus is amazing! My ISP is 1 GB a second. I was using a regular router which gave me around 200 megabits per second downstairs and around 90 megabits per second upstairs. I was losing close to 90% of my money since I was not getting the speeds I paid for. After a ton of research I decided to give Wi-Fi 6E a try since I have two floors and my modem had to be downstairs. I plugged one into my modem of downstairs and put the second node in my kitchen downstairs right underneath the upstairs room where the computer is. I placed the third node upstairs by my computer. These devices have not only a wan, but three LAN!! I plugged in a cat 6 ethernet cable from the third node directly into my computer, giving me great speeds! Before I was getting 90 to 100 megabits per second. Now, upstairs I am getting almost 800 megabits per second. Downstairs I constantly get over one gigabyte per second that I pay for. In fact sometimes I get around 1,068 megabits per second! Since I don't have fiber optics and only a cable connection I only get 35 megabits per second upload speed. This router gives me almost 50 megabits per second upload speeds! I am overall satisfied and would recommend this to anyone looking to ramp their internet speed up and to expand the area of operation. I can go outside in the parking lot and still pick up my Wi-Fi! These devices are powerful! Make sure you buy your product from Best buy! They offer a really good two-year extended warranty with no questions asked! I love Best buy! They are so experienced and handling customers technological needs.

    ASUS to the Rescue!

AT&T recently pushed a new "software upgrade" to our fiber modem, which completely shut down our older 3 Airties (4920 and 4921) wifi extenders. They are trying to push everyone to their newer extenders and charge you $10 month! NOPE After doing a lot of research using a mesh system with AT&T fiber I decided to go with the ASUS 3-pack. We've been using them about a month now. Setup was a little difficult but ASUS tech support was very helpful getting these added. Of course they don't support your internet provider but thanks to Google, I was able to find out how to properly tweak the settings on the AT&T BGW320 modem (passthrough, etc). Even though we have AT&T fiber 1000 and a relatively small home (1600 sf) we had terrible dead zones, slow speeds and internet drops with the 3 Airties. So far not anymore! The speed and range of the ASUS is remarkable. And I especially like the fact you can "bind" a device to the closest node. Another major factor why I chose ASUS is they have lifetime security updates without having to purchase a monthly or yearly subscription. These may not work for everyone but so far they are working great with our AT&T fiber.

Our home is multi level and the one router just wasnt cutting it. After some research we chose to purchase this mesh system. It has been Great. We now have coverage in each room and out in the garden. The upgrade to 5G was a bonus. Our TV, which was getting low wifi connectivity and sometimes cutting out has no problems. I like that we can connect via ethernet from any of the units not just the one connected to the modum. If there is a way to turn off the bright blue power indicator light I havent found it, so dont put one in an area you plan to sleep.

As it seems ALL 5G routers have connection drop out issues, I replaced my ASUS RT-AX86U Pro (that also had drop out issues) with the AEX7800 3 pack Mesh. The 3 pack is overkill for my 2000 square foot home, but the 5g saturates my home. So far, no 5g drop outs! This mesh system is not as powerful as the RT-AX86U Pro, but has no issues with all my toys. Setup.... No real issues, but it seems the mesh devices take awhile to settle in. Set them up, reboot the master, then the nodes. Leave them alone for a day and check them out. One star off for the high cost and for me having to spend it to get a WiFi router that does NOT drop 5g connections.

So this was my first time setting up a mesh system. I did a good deal of research and decided this was the best choice. I purchased in store and brought home, since wife works from home I set up on Sunday of Labor Day weekend in case I ran into any problems. Set up was simple and worked from the quick start guide. Once I confirmed network was functioning, I moved them to three locations one in living room, one in the office and one in the master bedroom. We are only 1800 sq foot but wanted additional coverage to the backyard patio. Solved my previous issues that wife was having on interrupted service for zoom calls on my older WiFi, solved my poor service on the patio with my cigar. Definitely recommend this system. Only issues was since I kept the same names of my network was all the devices on the 2ghz had to be relogged on, all my 5ghz devices seemed to find it just fine. This is pretty normal when switching out hardware like I did. With a ring, lights, Alexa, robo vac, and thermostat it was a bit time consuming but that is to be expected.

My old Linksys wifi and extender system just wasn't working. So I decided to take the plunge into a mesh system for my home wi-fi. It was easy to set up and I was able to separate my streaming on one frequency and internet usage on the other. Streaming is much better with little to no buffering. Internet usage is fast.

I already own an ASUS mesh system (ZenWifi ET12 Pro) that I use in my primary home. I bought this system to replace an aging mesh system in a rental home. It's been a great system at a reasonable price. I have been using this daily (I work remotely) to do my work, family streaming, and kids gaming while we have been traveling to the rental home. Very reliable even with congestion from other nearby systems. Setup was quick and easy, plenty of customization for power users, and fast reliable connection. As a bonus, I can now manage this system, along with my home system, from the ASUS Router app on my phone. Great product.
