First thing is the packaging. These things are PACKED in there. I’d say there is a near-zero chance they are damaged from shipping as it’s got foam on every side and nothing can move freely in the box (see picture). Second is setup. Simple enough to plug and play, but if you’re buying this set over the PS5 version it’ll be because this has embedded Dolby Atmos. I’m on PC, so for Windows all I had to do was download Dolby Access on the Windows Store. IMPORTANTLY, on Windows 10 at least, right click the volume button on the lower right corner of the desktop and click “Spatial Audio” then click Dolby Atmos. The included instructions are simple (see picture, good) but can also be a bit vague (bad). Two wheels on the side, one is for overall headphone volume, the other is the ratio between “game” volume and “chat” volume. In my case I could turn either my game volume down to hear my friends on Discord, or turn Discord down to hear my game. Neat feature, kinda confusing with no initial explanation. Build quality is very nice with seemingly high quality materials. This makes it a good bit heavier than my previous headphones, however. Ear cups out of (pleather?) make a great seal that is soft, which helps with immersion, but the great build quality pushes in on my ears quite a bit. There isn’t any standoff room between the ear cups and the base of the headphone, so I found my admittedly large ears getting smushed against the side, which is a bit uncomfortable. The head strap is again high quality, but adjusting it makes you use a screwdriver (see picture). This is of course better than it being fixed in place, so I’m not complaining much, but food for thought for gen 2. The only real sore spot I have with the headphones is the detachable mic. It could be just the pair I got, but I’ve been told both in game and Discord that I sound like I’m underwater and that it sounds worse than the G430s I got quite a few years ago. I downloaded the Audra’s HQ app, updated firmware, nothing helped. Also, the mic monitoring “Sidetone” absolutely MESSED up the sound, so would not recommend turning that on. Overall, a very solid pair of headphones, especially for wireless ones! The only spot that has uncharacteristically low quality is the microphone, which apparently sounds terrible. Because they are $300 dollars, I’ll probably swap them for some other high end set unless Best Buy doesn’t sell anything worth buying. For someone who’s just watching videos or listening to music, it’s worth the money! If you need to use the mic, not so much!

Just for context these are some of the earphones/headphones and audio gear I own: Hifiman 400i 2020 Dunu Talos Tinhifi P1 Letshouer S12 Ibasso DX-160 Shanling M3X I used to be a gamer but strictly audio these days. I have listened to other expensive headphones both wireless and wired from Focal, Audeze, HIfiman, Sennheiser, Beyerdynamic and for the price, features and especially sound quality these are the best imho for both wired/wireless for music listening. A few cons would be the weight and the movement on the head (moves around too easily), I replaced the pads with Defean Silky pads and the headband with Wicked Cushions which improves the comfort (weight distribution and heat) and lastly these have been hard to find the past year but worth the wait.

Best sounding headset by a mile, nothing has come close. Heavy, but worth it. Suggest getting 3rd party band and cushions. Xbox version works fine on the PS5, so just get that one.

these headphones are not normal, they have a magnetic metal plate speaker system, they completely reduce the distortion of a conical speaker. They definitely sound like studio headphones, I bought the version for xbox with doubly atmos included, it is worth it, the best of the best, they feel top quality, I would have liked to bring option for ambient sound, but it is compensated by the audio quality, you can not insure them with bestbuy I could not explain why, but if they have 2 years warranty directly with the factory.

I recently picked up an Audeze headset for gaming, and I’ve been blown away by the audio quality—especially when paired with the Dolby Atmos app on my Xbox and PC. Right out of the gate, the soundstage is incredible, delivering a level of immersion that’s tough to beat. The clarity and depth of the audio make every gunshot, footstep, and ambient noise pop in a way I haven’t experienced before. What really sets this headset apart for me is the ability to tweak in-game audio settings in certain titles. Fine-tuning the sound profile to match the game I’m playing—whether it’s a fast-paced shooter or an atmospheric RPG—takes the experience to another level. Compared to my Bose QuietComfort gaming headset, which I’ve always loved for its comfort and noise cancellation, the Audeze blows it out of the water in terms of pure audio fidelity. The Bose is solid, but it just doesn’t have the same richness or precision. I also used to run my Apple AirPods Max through a SoundBlaster audio device for gaming, which I thought was a pretty high bar at the time. While that setup was impressive for its spatial audio and convenience, the Audeze headset outshines it handily. The combination of its drivers and Dolby Atmos creates a wider, more dynamic soundscape that makes directional audio cues—like hearing an enemy sneaking up behind me—feel almost tangible. Comfort-wise, it’s been great for long sessions, though it’s worth noting that Audeze headsets can be on the heavier side depending on the model. Still, the trade-off is more than worth it for the sound quality. If you’re a gamer who prioritizes audio immersion and has the Dolby Atmos app in your toolkit, this headset is a game-changer. It’s easily become my go-to over both the Bose and AirPods Max setups.

This headset for me is endgame, I been through a ton of headsets just testing them out and deciding which one I like the best so let me say for me this is the one to get. I will quote someone who said it best it's like going from 1080p to 4k in audio format it feels almost like next gen audio. The only thing I would say is buy the wicked ear cushions to replace the default ones they make a big difference. Also you must be informed that this is not a light headset it feels almost like metal, but honestly its still very comfortable for me.

THE BEST EVER! Ive had my fair share of so called “Gaming Headsets” and none of them come close to this. The sound quality is fantastic and so is the versatility. The Xbox variant works on PlayStation, Switch, Mobile, and PC also! The build quality is great and reminds me of Steelseries. The mic quality is very solid especially when playing on console. I’ll continue using my dedicated mic on PC of course. Now, the negative things for me is first the weight of the headset. I dont think its terrible, but its noticeable. I have a BIG sensitive head and was worried about this along with the overall fitting. The strap adjustment is strange and kind of limited, but has a total of 5 sizes. I guess more generic/common sizes and possibly not quite precise to some. So for me its almost perfect! I had them on for about a total of 4 hours straight and didnt have any fatigue. The weight is very well balanced on the head in my opinion. Personally I’ve owned Astro A50s, Razer Nari Ultimates, Sony Inzones, and a variety of Steelseries headsets. None of them come close to the the overall quality of these headsets. Build quality, mic quality, sound quality, comfort, and the versatility of the Maxwells are simply unmatched. The headsets also don’t rely on any kind of drivers/software to function properly. However, the Audeze software on PC is nice and very user friendly. Overall, these are simply the best gaming headsets available currently! I recommend buying the Xbox variant for the best compatibility. BUY THEM! You are very unlikely to be disappointed.

Great sound, great comfort, mic is okay. Looking for additional ear pads to mitigate moisture accumulation on diaphragms and decrease sealing nature of headphones. No problems after four weeks of light use.

This was is an experience of a headphone. Ive seen so many reviews about this and i decided to take the leap. No regrets. True surround sound. Clear audio and crisps. It doesnt have the strong bass like the Nova elite I tried but it was more immersive. No issues with the weight as other talked about. Call of duty i hear every footsteps and the noise is so precise that i knew where they was coming from. Absolutely recommend these for the best headphones to get. And ive had the nova pro and nova elite. Nova elite strong 2nd

Initial Inquiry & Decision: I wanted a high-end wireless headset with exceptional sound, comfort, and battery life for gaming, work, and media. The Audeze Maxwell with its 90mm planar drivers and impressive battery claims stood out from the competition. Unboxing, Build Quality, & Testing: The Maxwell headset delivers 80+ hours of playtime per charge—several full days of use or marathon gaming sessions before ever worrying about recharging. Fast charging also means a quick top-off gives another day’s power in just 20 minutes. Sound is a highlight: Audeze’s large planar drivers deliver deep, tight bass, expressive mids, and clear high-frequency detail, creating an immersive soundstage for music, movies, and gaming. The durable construction feels premium, with aluminum yokes and spring steel headband, while contoured ear pads and a suspension strap make long sessions comfortable despite the headset’s hefty build. Wireless performance is outstanding—ultra low latency, reliable stability, and extended range far outperform typical 2.4GHz headsets, so gameplay and chats are rock-solid throughout your room. AI-powered FILTER technology keeps voice chat crystal clear by blocking background noise, boosting team communication in busy environments. Physical controls are easy to reach, and the package includes a full suite of connection options: USB-C dongle, analog cable, and adapters for all your devices. Overall Impressions and Recommendation: The Audeze Maxwell is one of the finest wireless gaming headsets around, with uncompromising audio quality, long battery life, and comfort. It’s ideal for dedicated gamers, streamers, and audio enthusiasts who value superb sound, durable materials, and reliable, lag-free wireless connectivity.

Love this headset. Well made, not cheap plastic, so they weigh a a little more. I have a significant hearing loss, so the eq is what made me take a closer look. The reason for 4, and not 5 stars? The mic sounds amazing, but the will not stay in place, and the controls are a little odd. Otherwise, great headset.

Pros: They are extremely customizable. The eq settings and Dolby atmos allow you to make them sound however you want. The build quality is out of this world, Holding any other headset will feel cheap after you drive these. The sound from the planar magnetic drivers is insane. The immersion in single player games and profile of music/movies make these the best of the best. Cons: I am sure if you are considering these you have done your research and know that the planar magnetic drivers are notorious for being fragile and failing. They must be treated with care. Regarding imaging, directional sound on these is not as good as other strictly gaming headsets. Not bad, but no hacks. With all that being said, these are undoubtably the best wireless gaming headset you could buy. If you have the money and are okay with the risk of fragile drivers I would easily recommend these without hesitation. However, if you are strictly a competitive FPS player maybe go to the Stealth Pros by Turtle Beach.

Good quality sound for the price, nice head fit, not too much pressure. Build quality is mediocre. Wiring in the headset is poorly shielded, side tone has lots of electrical noise, and if you walk on carpet with socks you'll hear the pops of static electricity.

Love this headset, I'd say the only downside is the weight of it, I got used to it very quickly; and the connection when it's around other wireless dongles (like on a hub) sometimes the connections can be crossed. Audio is great, mic is good for a gaming headset, and the sound...I don't even have to say anything. King of the PC gaming headsets.
