The wings at the top of the headpiece are made extremely cheaply, one broke on me the second time I used these headphones.
Can't even use the headphones since they tangle in my hair without the piece in place, and they don't sit properly on my head even if I settle it in place despite the broken plastic. Check the photo. The sound quality isn't to my liking either, although I'm not an educated audiophile so I can't say what exactly's wrong with them. But I prefer my old Audiotechnica M30's, which were cheaper than these when I first got them.
Overall I recommend passing on these.

For the money, the most comfortable large headphones I have had. I wanted to be able to hear people talking to me, so could not have a closed back head-set, this is the perfect balance between very good sound and the ability to hear outside environment.

A lot open back headphones can be pretty rolled off in the lower bass frequencies these aren’t. The bass is well defined never exaggerated or boomy. The mids and highs are very detailed but not fatiguing at all. Only reason theyre not a five star review is the fit and some minor duribilty concerns. The clamping force isnt strong enough to prevent them from slipping down my really big 7 3/4” head, and the little flaps on the head band dont really do much to keep them in place. The cord isn’t detachible, and doesnt seem super secure. These are all nit picks and over all i love these headphones.

I'm not a sound expert but from my experience of listening to music and playing games (I mostly play FPS games such as Valorant), these sound very sharp and clear. The biggest thing to me would be the depth of sound that I never experienced with any other headphones as these are my first pair of open backs. An additional note would be that I can wear these headphones for hours with my glasses on.

These are my first pair of open back headphones. I personally think they are great headphones and are very comfortable. Some people might not like the idea of open back so if you can try a pair on I would do so before buying. Overall, they’re great headphones and they are very comfortable.

The sounds quality of the headphones were great, but the headband was truly pretty awful. You can't adjust anything to be more snug, and the two, small pads just don't do enough. Again the sound quality for the price is great, but I put them on and knew it wasn't gonna work for me.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Overall, I've had a good experience using this pair of headphones daily. The headphones sound good enough to enjoy my favorite music and play some video games. The open back allows your ears to "breathe," so it's fine to wear them over an extended period of time.
Note that the head bands may be a bit wide and loose for some people. I put a standard rubber band between the two clips, and they're good afterwards.

THE AT ATH-AD500X headphones have a nice spacious sound. Obviously, if you are an audiophile and you get a higher end open-back set of headphones, then they will sound better but these should satisfy most casual listeners. Build quality and comfort were both good for me after long use. The cable is not removable and very long but just use a twist tie and loop up part of it. I recommend these, especially for the sale price of around $85 that Best Buy is having now.
