I upgraded my connection speed and my Zoom wireless cable modem couldn't output my full speed over WiFi. I bought this Belkin router and am now at my max speed. Very easy set up. All my devices connected flawlessly. I've had it for a few months now and have not had any problems.
Don't let the naysayers prevent you from buying this router. It's a great product.

Ridiculously easy to install. There are 3 picture instructions, and one of those includes plugging it into the wall. The dual-band is a nice feature, I just don't have too much use for it yet since a lot of current products don't yet accept the 2nd band, but that's okay, because that means the router will last longer for me, I guess.
The performance has never faltered once since I plugged it in.

I researched wireless routers for quite a while before purchasing this Belkin. The reviews online are all over the place so it was difficult to find an affordable router that would do the job. My needs are simple so I didn’t need all the bells and whistles and I didn’t want to pay for them either – I only have a computer, a Wii, and a Kindle Fire attached to it. (the computer is only used for surfing and facebook). I wanted a router that I could connect my printer to via USB so I was forced to spend the extra money for that feature – otherwise I could have spent about $40 instead of about $80. I am very happy with this purchase – I have a great signal in both 5.0Ghz and 2.4Ghz – I have seen complaints about 5.0Ghz but I have had no problems – my router is in the basement and I can be anywhere in my house and get a great signal. 1 complaint – when I hit the print button it first shows a message that says I am out of ink then it prints about 2 seconds later. Otherwise this is a great plug and play wireless router.

After a couple solid weeks of signal drops from from my single band router I decided it was time to upgrade to a dual band. The dual bands can be pricey and I never owned a Belkin before, but after researching the product at work (yes, I'm a BBY employee =D) and on my own I decided to give it a try. Set up took about 10-15 minutes and we couldn't be happier. We are consistently running a laptop, netbook and two PS3's in our home (approx. 1100sf) and each room gets wonderful connections (full bars even across the house) and haven't experienced a drop in signal thus far.
We are a home of video streamers, facebook gurus and online gamers to the extreme and this router is serving us well.
It also has a little insert on the bottom of the router where you can store your SSID and WPA key. No more taping it to the router for me =)

First wireless use...

First off, I am behind the times technology wise in the department of knowledge on wireless routers, connections, etc. This was my first experience in setting up a wireless router. After having setup the router, wireless printer, a desktop computer, a laptop computer, a Cruz Pad, television and blue ray disc player, along with a Sprint mobile phone booster tower....I found it much simpler than I had previously believed. Four units, the tv, blue ray, desktop and booster tower are hardwired with all other devices being wireless. Connecting proved easy, simply by following directions. I found no problems with online connections, but I had a problem at first printing from a second computer, the laptop. That problem was, that I overcomplicated the process with my own thoughts of what needed to be done. It turned out to be a very simple chore. All devices are working up to speed and the video has improved remarkably. The N600 is a fine router!

Setup is geared for a typical home user but easy to figure out if you're expecting a more technical approach. Several reviews said the N600 had good range, out-of-the-box WiFi security, and many features I would only expect from more expensive brands. It has performed flawlessly since I received it.

Better then the Netgear Router that it replaced.

This is the second Netgear router that has failed just under a year old. I will not buy another Netgear product. The quality at Netgear had dropped significantly. I am very disapinted with Netgear. Also their over seas phone support tried too sell us a $200 option to have someone come out to fix the router. The phone support person could not comprehend that it is hardware problem and not router settings. He even tried to tell me that if the router problem is not fixed Netgear will refund the $200 dollars. Which is total bull sh**. I have had other Netgear Route replacement router die also. When you get a replacement, you only get a 90 day warranty.
So this is why I tried the Belkin router. Installation and setup was a breeze. I have had no problems with the Belkin router so far. I have not had to reset the router. I also have an external hard drive connected to the router for storing movies and other sfuff.

Excellent value and very sleek looking. Loved the ease of the setup. Performance is fast for everyday internet use and video streaming. Since I am not a online video gamer, can't give opinion how it works in that aspect.

This is a vast improvement over my old Netgear unit. It has installed without a hiccup on the destop and each of our laptops, and never drops the connection. The Netgear was never reliable. This is also faster. What an improvement!

The Belkin router was a lot easier to setup than my previous Linksys router, however the Belkin router was/is very glitchy. It would work one day and not work the next then work again the next day. Several times my devices (netbooks, tablets, phones, etc.) have trouble connecting to the router, get lots of "unable to connect" errors. Most of the time have to hit the red reset button on the router to get my devices to connect. Then other times devices would connect, but would say "no internet". Once again if I hit the reset on the back of the router then it would work ok again. When it would work, it worked pretty good, good speeds, range, etc, better than my old Linksys, but so far the Belkin has not been near as reliable as my old Linksys. I will probably buy another Linksys (newer model) whenever I replace this one and this one dies on me (even though its pretty new), bought during black friday back in November.

Does the job of more expensive routers very well. Less broken connedtions. Range wider, I still use repeater but no longer have to. Good value for the money. Was in stock so no shipping needed.

We had used another brand of routers & went through 3 of them in 3 years. It would constantly kick us offline & we'd have to restart the modem & the router. This one has worked fantastic with no problems ever. Only downfall for us is that the salesman told me this would enable us to print wirelessly, but we can't. Our printer does not allow for that. Had a little trouble at installation, but called Belkin & they were amazing & walked us through to fix the issue.

The set-up wizard was real simple to use. My main reason for buying this was for watching TV shows and movies (I don't have cable). I can stream Netflix easily. It works well for all wifi capable device. Definitely no complaints here.

I use this to cover a dead spot. It even runs off of powerline adapters and still does 40Megs with no issue. It's an Access Point for me only so I don't know how good the router part works. I assume just fine. It's cheap and it works.

First, I have installed many routers of different brand over the years with no issues. I did as the directions stated. Hooked up the wires and put in the install cd. It was supposed to be simple.
Not so much. I ran through all the directions. Nothing. It tells me to call the company for tech support. Tried again. Same results.
So I called and got a person who did not speak English as a first language and was a bit hard to understand. First she tired walking me through the wires. I assured her they were all connected. We then have to put an address in IE to get to the set up. Had to reset it to factory defaults, and then clone the MAC address of the computer.
I was able to follow her directions and get it all done, but it was not the easy set up described on the box.
Once set up it took awhile to figure out how to change the router name and password, but once installed it worked well and has a good range.

I just bought this router at a great price at best Buy Laredo, TX, it has been working fine, the only drawback is that its range is not very good, (probably because my one story house is made of concrete and block) I just replaced my old single band 150 mbps D-Link 600 router and has the same range, no improvements found, fortunately I have two range extenders that help a lot. Other than that the router has a nice simple design better that the previous one.
