This keyboard was great for about 6 months of regular use. That's when I noticed the key caps wearing to the point that even the letters are wearing off. I use this keyboard at work in a normal office, and the two keys wearing the most are the "N" and the "M" keys. Additionally, the volume wheel *never* works anymore. As I spin the little wheel, the volume bar will go down and immediately pop back up. You can eventually get the volume to move up or down, but it will take continuous spinning for a couple of minutes to reach that point. The software is updated, before anyone assumes it's a software issue. The worst part about this is that I'm still within the warranty period, and Razer refuses to do anything about it. These issues are apparently "cosmetic" in nature. Not sure how a volume control wheel is "cosmetic," but okay, Razer. Now I know not to buy any of your products. Thanks for the lesson.

Absolutely love this Razor keyboard. From its fully rgb keys and chroma software. To its cheery green mechanical switches. I love the clickyness of the key strokes, compared to my old corsair rgb keyboard this is a well made, and I must say heavy keyboard. I believe the weight foe the Razor is 12 lbs. I was shocked at the weight of it, in my head meaning, better construction and components. The padded magnetic wrist rest, is a very nice touch. I like that it connects magnetically, vs snapping connectors. I dont think theres one part of this keyboard that Razor overlooked. 5 stars from me...

Razer - BlackWidow Elite Model: C7486-3250GRY-PUS Over all an amazing keyboard. From opening the box I was impressed. Razer has a good history with clean good looking packaging and this does not disappoint in any way. First reactions was it's great quality parts, which is what you would expect for a device of this price and brand. The brush aluminum black top plate looks amazing on the keyboard and helps give great color definition. Overall, as always, impressed with the first look at the device from opening the box and seeing the device. They plastic keys feel strong as well as the mechanism it sits on. It feels can take all the rage hits while you game. They sometimes can attract fingerprints from time to time. The sound as you hit the keys are what you would expect it to sound like. Its very satisfying and conferrable. From a hard core gamer's perspective you can feel the quality and care put into the design. Although, be warned you do have to press harder on these keys requiring 50g force, but something easy to get used to. Another warning, they keys do sit high up which can throw people not used to mechanical keyboards off and you have to take care because dust and debris can easily get in it. I do enjoy how the words themselves light up unlike in some models where they are only back lit. Digging into the lighting its self, its one of razer's best LED RGB keyboards. When the wave runs with all the colors offered its beautiful and smooth. Some of their best work yet. With the ability to program the lighting I even set up different light displays for different games based on what keys I use helping me to focus on them. Each key is programmable in its own right with all 16.9 million colors on their spectrum. The wired part of the keyboard is two USBs and a 3.5 mm audio jack for your computer. For some people, depending on the computer may have to get a USB hub if you can't currently sacrifice 2 USB ports. They keyboard has a spot to plug your headphones or speakers into to make it easier to changing what you use to play audio. Although if you want the best quality, just connect your audio direct to your computer because you do sacrifice some audio quality and will have crackling issues on some devices. Unfortunately, to get full use of this keyboard you have to use both, so no getting away with just one. The cable wrap on it is Razer standard, as always, but makes it easy to weave your cable around any way you need to get it there. The wrist rest is soft memory foam that magnetically attaches to the keyboard. Although a great designing and idea to include with the keyboard there are some things you have to note. It is one of the softer wrist wrests out there, some people like softer or harder, personally, I am indifferent. Another warning, you no longer get to see the RGB logo on the front of the keyboard. I personally don't use the wrist rest just because I don't feel its a necessary item for my experience and I love the logo. A few bullets Dislikes - Keys like to attract greasy fingerprints, sorry, no oily chips and gaming if you want to keep it clean. - The synapse 3.0 software that you use to program it can be cumbersome and a pain to use from time to time. You have to really have practice and time spent on the software to get the most out of it. It is still in the Beta phase at this point none the less. - 3.5 mm jack does degrade audio quality and can have issues with humming and crackling with some speakers. - Cable braiding is thick as well as the cable itself - Wrist rest is skinny and can be too soft for some people. Likes - With on board and cloud memory you don't have to redo your profiles when you move computers - RGB lighting is some of the best ever. Smooth and pleasing and over all enjoyable - Mechanical Keys are smooth and sound amazing like they should - Aesthetically pleasing and great build quality. Good plastics and aluminum base plate make for a beautiful look - No Wobbly Key Caps! - I/O ports on side help keep other cables clean and allow you to access a USB 2.0 port and 3.5mm easier - Customization macros and using hypershift you can still use the keys for simple functions at the same time Straight from the Razer Site SPECS Razer™ Mechanical GREEN Switches designed for gaming 80 million keystroke lifespan Razer Chroma™ customizable backlighting with 16.8 million color options Ergonomic wrist rest Multi-function Digital Dial Dedicated Media Controls USB 2.0 and audio pass through Hybrid On-Board Memory and Cloud Storage – up to 5 profiles Razer Synapse 3 enabled Cable routing 10 key roll-over anti-ghosting Fully programmable keys with on-the-fly macro recording Gaming mode option 1000 Hz Ultrapolling Military grade metal top construction Instant Trigger Technology WE’VE GOT YOU COVERED Get up to 2 years of warranty and access reliable tech support here. Decision time... Buy or don't Buy? It's a BUY from me. I love this keyboard and will be getting a lot of use out of it between raging and gaming and doing media and what ever else I need. Although there are a lot more features for me to learn how to use and discover an amazing product to buy and a great one for anyone looking for a good long lasting keyboard.

I've had my unit for a few weeks now. I have owned several keyboards including predominantly ergonomic keyboards. Here is what I have to say about the unit: Summary: This is a svelt device with a host of nifty features. It's purpose is to be a highly functional keyboard and this unit excels at that. Pros: The keyboard and its keys play front and center for this unit. They keys feel good and sound appropriately click-y. The travel for keys is just right and I was able to adapt quickly to this keyboard (former keyboard is a Surface Ergonomic). - Compact layout with full set of keys (numeric pad). - Svelte black color. - Like many keyboards, this unit features audio controls in the form of buttons and a radial dial. - Programmable profiles. - Back lit keys makes dark room typing a lot easier with minimal task lighting. - Programmable key lighting schemes. - Magnetic comfortable removable palm rest. - USB and microphone port for use as small hub. - Thick braided cord for durability. Cons: I can't think of any specific cons I would complain about. I could ask for a few more USB ports along the back. I also would LOVE them to release an ergonomic version of this keyboard. Use: This guy gets regular use as a primary keyboard to a work machine that also doubles as a gaming machine (Elder Scrolls, Destiny 2, World of Warcraft). I love it and would most definitely recommend this unit.

I’m a gamer. In fact, I LOVE gaming. As any gamer knows, you need serious gaming equipment for those sessions that start off as a 'quick match' and become three-hour adventures. The Razer Blackwidow Elite keyboard is for that serious gamer. Right out of the box, I appreciated the sharp design of this gaming keyboard. Upon plugging in the keyboard, I was greeted with a memorizing display of colors. This keyboard SCREAMS awesome with its aesthetic design. But let me praise the functionality of this gaming keyboard. The mechanical keys are insanely responsive which is important when it comes to response. Playing Fortnite can require split-second reactions whether you’re tossing heals or building to gain the high ground or shield against opponents. In fact, I would have to admit that I feel as if I have an advantage compared to my previous keyboard. I’ve also played Battlefield V with this keyboard and the interaction seems to ‘POP’ when I am tossing ammo for my squad mates/team. The Blackwidow Elite allows for great customization for gamers that sometimes just have to make ‘compromises’ when using other keyboards. This Blackwidow allows every key to be reassigned to what you desire depending on the type of game(s) that you’re engaging with. Customizing the keyboard is done through the Synapse desktop download. The binding customization options have me feeling excited to play Warcraft III: Reforged in 2019. This keyboard also works well with any kind of computer. I’ve used it on my 27” PC and I’ve also used it on my 2 in 1 laptop which was pretty cool because it allows me to put my laptop into tent form, therefore allowing me to rest the keyboard closer the screen. Another nice feature that might go unnoticed by some is the side USB and audio pass. This is nice for me because it allows the cable from my gaming headset to be more relaxed and closer to me and not occupying a port on my computer. Comfort is another pleasantry that gamers relish during sessions. The palm pad is magnetic and secures itself to the keyboard. So far, my palms/wrists are not throbbing compared to using my previous keyboard. With some gaming keyboards, there is an issue of trying to weave that keyboard in regular, everyday activities. The Blackwidow doesn’t feel clumsy when I need to write an email or even create this written review. Again, the palm pad rewards this use with comfort. Whether you are a gaming veteran or just starting out with PC gaming; the Razer Blackwidow Elite keyboard will provide a lifetime of comfortable and precise performance.

Can't go wrong with razer keyboards

I've had this keyboard for a month now and I can say that it was worth every penny. For me personally I love clicky tactile keyboards so I decided to go with razer since I've had experience with their laptops before. First of all the rgb lighting is great, but you'll need to download synapse which is a software by razer that let's you customize your lighting, macros, remap and all that cool stuff but some people don't really like adding more software onto their computers which is understandable. So for example if you have a corsair mouse and/or corsair components in your computer then it would be better to stick with them so you can have all your lighting effects running off 1 software. Second like I stated before this keyboard has the green razer keys meaning it's tactile but it'll sound like your using a type writer but for me that's not an issue because I love the sound, but this might be a deal breaker for some that don't want loud clicky keys all the time. Third the wrist pad is great, it's a leather (or faux leather, I haven't really checked to see if it's real leather) cushioned wrist pad that magnetically sticks to the keyboard and it feels great, I've used it for hours nonstop and have been comfortable the entire time. There is also a play/pause, forward, and backward button on the top right of the keyboard which is really convenient, as well as a wheel that you can use to adjust volume on the fly with a conveniently placed mute button in the middle of it.

This keyboard is a great fit with the rest of my Razer peripherals. The keyboard is of extremely high build quality. I find the loud green switches perfect for me. The magnetic wrist rest is also extremely comfortable and easy to remove if needed. The Chroma lighting is bright and Synapse allows for easy modifications to the lighting. I got the keyboard on sale for $110 and I think that it is a really good value, especially when compared to other keyboards. The keyboard is very easy to set up and has a lot of extra features that are very helpful. I find the use of audio and USB pass through on the side to be a great addition to the keyboard. It also has different function keys for things like dimming the lights, macros and even a sleep button. The addition of addressable media controls is also great.

When I started to work from home more during the pandemic, I realized that my laptop's keyboard - while good type on - was not the most comfortable for workday length of use. Enter my search for a good external keyboard that would also work well for gaming. I had several criteria: 1. It needed to feel good for typing, obviously. 2. Illumination of some sort, color preferable. 3. It needed to be comfortable for long periods. 4. I wanted it to be responsive for gaming. I wasn't seeking out a mechanical keyboard specifically, but the best keyboards that satisfied all my criteria seemed to be. However, mechanical keyboards can have very different feel depending on the switches used, so I spent a fair amount of time in stores (with hand sanitizer) mock typing to test feel, sound, spacing of the keys, etc. To be honest, the Blackwidow Elite was not my top choice in regard to feel; that honor belonged to the Logitech G815/915. The Logitechs crack the $200 mark though, and I wasn't looking to spend so much. The Blackwidow Elite (already less expensive) was on sale and felt almost as good, so I decided the trade-off was worth it. Ive used it for a couple weeks now, and I am happy with my choice. It took less than an hour to fully acclimate myself to the keys, and I can now type as fast on it as I can on either my laptop or my office keyboard. The feel of the Razer Green switches is great, with a nice tactile touch and spring. The lighting options are customizable to a crazy degree (it's actually kind of overwhelming but there are plenty of default options to fall back on if you want something quick but interesting). The wrist rest is surprisingly comfortable and stays in place. This thing is built like a tank, too, which also helps keep everything from moving around. It's not exactly a portable keyboard, though, so don't plan on traveling with it. One note about the software. Razer Synapse 3 is what you use to manage all of Razer's modern products, this keyboard included. Some people feel it is intrusive; I'm ambivalent. Overall the software is generally easy to use, but the customization for the lighting is a whole 'nother level. Be prepared to dive in deep if you want something other than one of the defaults. The keyboard can save settings in onboard memory so you don't need the software installed to use it on another computer. Given the Elite's weight I doubt many people would haul this thing around so that's sort of a wash. Overall it's a fantastic keyboard if you don't mind the weight and noise, and already have another Razer peripheral like a mouse. Highlights: - Metal construction, built like a tank; very sturdy. - Keys feel great and responsive. - Heavy braided cable with USB/audio pass-through - Media keys are actually very useful (I considered them a bonus gimmick at first) - Wrist wrest is comfortable. - Obscene amount of customization. Considerations: - Razer Synapse is not everyone's cup of tea, and aside from a quick tutorial it doesn't provide much guidance in how to customize the lighting. - The Green switches are noisy if you're worried about disturbing others; Orange and Yellow and quieter but hard to find in stock. - Weight could be an issue if you need to move it around a lot.

Excellent keyboard for typists especially, though gamers will enjoy it as well. The green switches are quite loud so take it into account. The rebound is a bit stiff so it makes holding a key for a prolonged period of time not ideal. It is solidly built and weighs quite a bit. The RGB is very nice but the see-through part of the switches face away from the user so it doesn't give out as much light as some other keyboards. The palm rest is very plush and the magnets make it so easy to attach and remove. The media control buttons are quite useful, especially the volume knob. The keys are a little closer than more standard non-mechanical keyboards. There are two different sets of feet of different heights each to adjust the angle. The cable can be routed through the middle or to either side of the keyboard but the holes are too tight and will damage the cable a little bit. There are USB and audio passthroughs on the left side.

Love it. The keyboard itself is compact, but heavy- giving the design a sense of quality and value. Cables are long enough and the added usb plug at the keyboard is a nice touch. The circular volume knob is a nice touch and easily mutes when touched. The RGB lights are present but not intrusive or frenetic like some keyboard lighting. I like the keyboard so much I’ve bought 3 of them on sale for the home and office. I may need to buy one more for my bedroom. There is a satisfying feeling when using this mechanical keyboard and the keys are not overly noisy. The additional wrist pad is a really nice touch - I thought at first I wouldn’t enjoy a separate keyboard wrist support pad but it is super comfortable. The only thing this keyboard lacks is a built in wireless charging station.

Satisfying all the way around. Enjoying the wrist rest, the Razer Synapse software is great for congfiguring your own lighting patterns and effects. Audio controls direct on keyboard, with USB/Mic input. Braided power cable that can go straight back, left or right to fit your needs. I love this keyboard. Only thing I would suggest is make sure your mouse is far enough away from the volume knob on the right of the keyboard - you may accidentally turn your volume up or down from time to time.

Freaking awesome!! Best part is that I saved money! Originally it was $170 but I got it for $92 with tax included and man! the best $92 I have spent! I got an email and text saying it will arrive at 10pm max but when I woke up it was outside my house ready to be opened! Love the quality! The feeling and the lights and the sound. It just makes me scream for more! Shipping was a littleeee eh. When I opened the box there was a very very small dent, which don't mind me was alright by me because it didn't damage the keyboard at all! By the quality of the keyboard and its material its gonna take a lot to damage this beast! I give everything a 9.5/10 -.5 for the little small dent.

Just got this keyboard and it looks very good. I would get this while it’s on sale during the holidays. Not worth the full msrp in my opinion. However, if you have your heart set on this keyboard it’s not bad for what you’re getting. Full customizable rgb with great sounding keys. Plus you get a wrist rest which is a really nice edition. Good for anyone looking to make the jump from console to pc or even from another setup. You won’t be disappointed.

The clackiness of the keys is probably obnoxious to your friends but there's just something special to me about being about to hear and feel the activation of a mechanical key. I would definitely recommend this keyboard if you like feeling your activation's and you don't care what the people around you think haha. I also really appreciate the ease of control on the RGB, the audio controls, the usb and headphone jack on the side and the wrist wrest. For the money it is an epic choice!

The keyboard is pretty well packaged. The keys feel nice to type on, they are kind of loud, but they still feel nice. The software is really annoying and confusing to figure out, but that's no fault of the keyboard so no stars off. The backlight is really cool and is one of the main reasons for purchasing this keyboard. The palm rest is quite soft but it is attached magnetically so sometimes it can detach. Overall a good keyboard.

I am not a big computer gamer, so I purchased this keyboard (on a sale) for typing and general office work. Device is very well made (heavy) and I love the comfort of the wrist rest (I do wish the magnets that hold the wrist rest were stronger though). The Razer green keys are very similar to Cherry MX Blues, which is what I was looking for. Really enjoy the typing experience, but the keys are quite loud, so I would not recommend for an office setting.

The green switches are what I was looking for as the sound from them is excellent and with all the added features, this keyboard fits what I wanted. I like the media keys and the Razer software, while not perfect, allows for as LOT of customization. Plus, there are a lot of 3rd party community developed RGB options out there. I like being able to set certain RGB patterns for each game I play. Add on top of that audio and USB pass throughs and a very nice PADDED wrist rest, this is still THE best value in top keyboard Razer offers. I originally bought the V3 but it seemed like a downgrade. It doesn't have any pass throughs and came with just a plastic wrist rest(not padded). The only real advantages to the V3 are that it has slightly brighter back lighting due to clear key bases and it comes with PBT keycaps. However, I upgraded my Elite to Pudding PBT keycaps anyway and the look is fantastic. Also, while the V3 also had green switches, it was much louder typing than the Elite, so much so, just about everyone in the house knew I was typing somthing. I think this is because since there isn't a USB/Audio pass through on the V3, it is more hollow inside, which creates more noise when typing. The Elite has the USB/Audio pass through internals, creating a more solid/dense base and that dampers the noise when typing. Anyway, if you are looking for a great keyboard, this is the one to get.

I'm no expert when it comes to mechanical keyboards as this is my first experience with one, but so far I'm loving it. It feels amazing to type on and the software to control the RGB effects was easy to navigate. The wrist rest I thought at first was just a gimmick but I'm starting to really enjoy it after a few weeks of use and glad I decided to go with the model that included it.

This is a great keyboard. I have the green clicky switches. It is well made and solid construction. The magnetic wrist pad is great. The keys are responsive and give a tactile feedback. If you type a lot this is an amazing keyboard. Its on the expensive side. This is not a keyboard for you of you just surf the net, or check email. This is a heavy use keybaord.
