Customers are saying

Customers find value in the BlackWidow Elite's high-quality build, vibrant RGB lighting, and comfortable wrist rest. Many appreciate the satisfying key feel and ease of use, along with the extensive customization options. However, some users experienced issues with the software and the volume knob's reliability. The keyboard's noise level was also a point of contention for some customers.

Excellent keyboard. Very high quality build. Excellent for gaming. Software is not difficult to install. Razer software is required to adjust the RGB lighting. However, there are many amazing color patterns avaialble for download for free. Youtube Razer color profiles to see what can be done. Great quality so far (after 1 month). I might need a can of compressed air or figure out how to clean this thing, though.

Great Keyboard at not a bad price. I've been using this keyboard for almost a year now and am still loving it. Pretty sure I became a Razer fanboy as soon as I experienced the unboxing of this keyboard from the start. Love the media control buttons, wrist rest, and RGB effects. Tried out like 8 keyboards before I settled on this one and I couldn't recommend more. Buy it.

This thing is worth it! I've always wanted one but never had the reason to justify for it. I don't use it for gaming but I bought it because I loved the clicky Mechanical feedback. I do type a lot so I've justified a reason to splurge on it. The app is pretty good and the lighting is awesome. Definitely one of the best keyboards. Before buying this one, I tried alot of the other RGB keyboard brands and Razer was the best for me due to the clicking mechanism.

One of the Best Top Gaming Keyboard!

This is one of the best keyboards around. Although there was a choice between this one and the newer Huntsman Elite, this version was picked as a PC keyboard of choice. At the time of this review, December 2020, Blackwidow is also a bargain deal at $85.00 (original $169.00) compared to Huntsman Elite which is priced at $169.00 as of this review(original is $199.00)....I should note that both of these were offered at the same deal price on Thanksgiving. If I hadn't missed that window, I would have bought Huntsman Elite then, to be fair. When one think of the best mechanical gaming keyboard, the Razer BlackWidow Elite is now running in parallel and comes to mind as well besides Huntsman Elite. This reputation and pricing also prompted my decision to go for BlackWidow although I loose that extra under glow lighting element and the opto switches (and few other minor but important extras) that is offered in Huntsman Elite model. With introduction of Huntsman series though, there's no doubt that the balance has tilted towards it with a slightly better rating, a better looking keyboard (with the lighting) and a more advanced switch (opto-mechanical). As far as performance goes, these keyboards are very similar. While there are a few differences besides the switch type, they really don’t make a difference in performance. Huntsman Elite has moved ahead of the game but BlackWidow Elite is still sitting strongly next to it, in terms of performance.

This is by far the best keyboard I have owned it is not difficult to use, find and import really neat RGB effects. I have owned multiple logitech gaming keyboards that are around this price range and none were as good, and many lacked a custom RGB. The keyboard is very clicky, which I like though it did make me have to change my microphone's threshold for voice activated chat.

While I don't have the Elite with green switches, I have it with the yellow linear switches because I don't like the clickiness of the greens. With that said this is a great keyboard. Sturdy, responsive, vibrant LEDs, multimedia keys are a plus and well a the volume slider which can be programmed to some other function. If you don't think you need the num pad on the right think about getting the blackwidow tenkeyless. Same board minus the num pad. Every key on the board is programmable to a different key, function, or macro depending on what you need. And there are different profiles you can make so each profile can be used for different things like gaming, work, streaming, etc. But theres 2 negatives I would like to mention. First, the bottom row isn't a standard bottom row so if you want get this board and put on different key caps, they might not fight the Windows key, FN, and application keys since they are smaller than the other keys. Second, this board does hhave a little but of a pinging souind when you type on it, especially the space bar. This is most likely due to the top plate of the board being made of metal and there is spacing between it ands the PCB. As of right now I am not sure how to reduce that pinging sound. While is it kind of expensive, its a good keyboard that could last you the rest of your life.

Straight up the best keyboard I've ever owned. The keys make a beautiful noise and are super easy to type on. The build quality is also great, most of the frame is metal. The keyboard is heavy and looks amazing. Customizability is on another level too. The only thing I wish it had is good wireless compatibility. The newer version has it, but it's also significantly pricier.

I got this item for about $90 during the Black Friday sale after tax and I am SO glad I did. The keys feel so smooth, the wrist rest is an ESSENTIAL and the clickyness of the keys is just right and so satisfying. The media keys are a nice touch and I love the volume know for easy sound control. My partner purchased a Red Dragon keyboard and he is jealous of mine now!

My kids love this new keyboard. They colors on the keys, the volume control wheel and the great retro clicking sound when typing makes this gaming keyboard a hit with our family. The included wrist rest which connects with a magnet makes this keyboard awesome. They cords are REALLY thick and feel like they will last forever! Very happy with the purchase!

First things first....it is definitely a clicky keyboard. There is no using this while watching a suspense movie in the same room. On the other hand it is very responsive and has a great feel to the keystrokes and we love the lights and advanced features. The wrist pad is also a great feature for longer use and makes reaching the keys easier.

Very high quality build, the colors are your standard RGB configurations. My old Razer BlackWidow Keyboard was still going strong, but only came in green lights, so I was ready to upgrade just for something different. And I got it on sale for almost half off. It was a must buy! Can't wait to play Baldurs Gate 3 with the Razer lighting.

All-in-All a great mechanical keyboard of nice quality. The magnetic wrist rest is very nice and and can be adjusted. The RGB variety is a fun niche also. Note that the special character keys {#, $,%,^, etc.} do not light up which is why I have removed stars. Also the Mechanical green switches are very loud, do yourself a favor and buy the optical {huntsman elite} or silent switches {yellow/purple?}. I have bought Razers optional o-ring dampening kit for the keys and they are still very loud even with them installed.

I finally upgraded to a mechanical keyboard and man does it make a huge difference. The feel of the keys is so much better and responsive. This is a must have for anybody who plays a decent amount of games on their computer or even for someone who types a lot. And of course, the quality of this specific keyboard is great like most Razer products.

First gaming keyboard ever. I love it! The keys are quick to jump back up. Under normal typing, I highly prefer this to my old membrane boards. The RGB, USB pass through, and wrist rest make this well worth the money! (Usb pass through has to be my favorite feature)

I love the feeling of this keyboard. It feels sturdy, the lights are easy to adjust and I haven’t had any issues with the software you need to download to change colors. I let my mom try it out and she loved the feeling of this keyboard so much she asked me to buy one for her. I got them on sale $70 off and I’m really happy with the purchases.

Much like the black widow keyboard I had in the past, this new version is both high quality and so satisfying. Combined with the software used to control the keyboard as well as Philip's hue support, razor products are just amazing! Honestly, if anyone has any gripes over this keyboard, they just love to complain/hate on razer.

This keyboard is great! I have owned the ornata and this one. I strongly prefer this keyboard. It is very loud, which will come down to preference. Build quality is super good and lighting looks awesome. Strongly recommend. I got this on sale, so that helps me recommend it because normally it is a very expensive device.

My husband loves gaming on his PC and had already had an older version of his BlackWidow keyboard. He wanted a newer version so I hunted this one down until I found it. Best purchase ever! He loves the clicking of the keyboard and the RBG feature that syncs up with his other Razer products. I would highly recommend this product!!!
