I'm so glad I purchased this microphone. I did a lot of research on it and found out that this is a really good one. I haven't opened it yet because I'm saving it to give to someone as a birthday present. But I know I need the right choice because of all the reviews.

Sounds great, a very good beginner mic. I'm justvstarting to really test it out and the only thing I wish it had was a windscreen, but worth what ya pay.

I need to use noise cancellation software but if you get a pop filter you shouldn’t have problems

I've been interested in this Blue microphone for some time. I never saw a reason or need to have an external microphone in the work I do with my Mac (I write and I design and I hate the sound of my own voice). Taking new classes as an adult and having a YouTube channel I've never done anything with- not to mention some BB certificates to spend- I thought I may look into podcasting or casting of some sort as a hobby. I came upon this microphone again and chose to go for it. It's big. Not too bulky but the pictures do not convey just how large this mic is. The stand is awkward both with mounting the mic and for the large footprint of the legs. I've done little actual recording with the device other than to try it out. It has nice pick up of voice but also of ambient noise. My office has an AC in the window and even on a low setting it's steady hum can be heard in the background. Not the mic's fault but something to consider if you don't have a quiet space to work. It was simple plug and play on a MacBook Pro and can be tweaked a bit in settings if need be. The strangest thing I've found about this device is that it connects to a USB-A port from a mini USB. Micro USB had replaced mini for years now. I cannot think of any current device that uses such a connection. This gives one an idea of how long these mics have been sitting around or haven't been updated physically in some time. All things considered, this is a entry level microphone. It's weirdly shaped for a mic but is a conversation piece. Perhaps it's a conversation one can have with a friend over a cup of coffee, edited and sent out onto the web as the first episode of your podcast. The list of things I can do with it grows daily as I consider its use. I couldn't do it if I didn't have it, so if you're interested at all in self productions or perhaps a better way to talk over video calls just be wary of loud machines in the background and plug this baby in. It'll serve one further than just beginning, a good place to spring to other devices as one's needs grow.
