Awful app and doesn’t stay connected. No service to speak of if it is working the sound quality is pretty good. But most of the time it’s a heavy paper weight

Barrell Keg Subwoofer Delivers the Goods

Super cool looking subwoofer that packs a punch. Must be combined with the W&B soundbar though. And managing the config of the soundbar and the woofer is done thru the B&W app. However, that part is straight forward. Only negative is the price of B&W products. I bought both the soundbar and woofer as returned, open box items to save hundreds of dollars. Very competitive products at a discount but not at full price.

I really like this wireless subwoofer—can move it aepround if necessary and it keeps picking up the signal with no problem. Looks nice and neat for a piece of audio equipment and doesn’t take up too much space. Am liking thus Bower & Wilkins product a lot thus far.

Incredible sound - paired with wedge

I initially bought just the wedge, then felt the need for sub. This does not disappoint, makes my def tech system sound ordinary . I have it in my living room , quite large with high ceilings and this fills that space perfectly. I tried to move the sub once unplugging power and relocating, it stopped working. I have to factory reset both wedge and bass to get it working. It's as simple as two clicks to do that and it works flawlessly again. I can see how it could be frstrating if u did not know how to fix it.

I own ALL the formation products. This bass packs a proper punch. Works excellent paired w the Duo's for low end support for 2 channel stereo and perfect for the 5.1 when setup with the Bar and Flex's for surrpund sound. Owned 2 years now and zero complaints or issues. I own 2 of these.

This is an absolutely awesome sound system that blows away anything from Sonos or Bose. Whether you are listening to the TV or just high fidelity audio, this system does it all. It's easy to set up, sounds great, modular so you can add additional components and has a very cool and unique design.

Disappointing app interface ruins experience...

Absolutely epic speakers. Infuriatingly glitchy app interface. It is truly shocking and disappointing that Bowers would release this incredible lineup of speakers with an app this unreliable. Set up is clunky and that’s the highlight of the interface. Once you’re up and running, if you ever get there you’ll want to prepare yourself for perpetual speed bumps. Sometimes the sub engages with the sound bar and sometimes it decides it wants to stay asleep. Switching a speaker from Bluetooth to WiFi requires you “reset” the speaker through the app, which is like taking a 5 minute recess from recess. And if you don’t do a reset after connecting via Bluetooth the speaker will simply remain “on” for all perpetuity, which is nice. Of course this is assuming you can connect to the speaker(s) at all, which is not a mathematical certainty. As superior as these speakers are to something like Sonos I’m offended that Bowers would have the audacity to charge the kind of money they’re peddling these things for knowing full well how embarrassingly unreliable this interface is. My mind is blown.

Works with the Formation Bar very well that needed a little more bass .I also feel that hooking it up with a Ethernet cable helps it stay connected more consistently. It really shines with the music plus it is very easy set up with the app with the bar .

I got a formation wedge and love it but it definitely has some missing lows. I thought this would solve it, but man I got this bass added and it is SUPER weak. I have my bass at +12 db maxed out in the app and it is the low end of the SVS subs i use. I barely can hear my sub and sometimes have to put a hand near it to make sure it works/is even working. Is this normal for everyone else? The bass is tight because it doesn't have any oomph...no store near me has anymore in stock nor are any stores open for me to check if mine is just bad...or is this how they built it. I wish i could put a regular sub with my formation wedge. the next 30 days I will have to decide to maybe just go with bookshelves. Wanted to save space but the lack of options with the formation series makes you spend top dollar for subpar performance bass wise...
i wouldnt say im super picky audioholic but i do have the SVS SB12 and to compare too and this would be the SB12 at the 10% setting lol...

Disappointing Experience

Ordered an excellent condition open box. It arrived shoved in a large box with just a bubble wrap .. it was rolling insecurely with-in the box. The product had a torn outside sleeve at the edges. As if this was not enough on Best Buy shipping associates, they packed a wrong cable with the product. Definitely going back. Disappointed at Best Buy for doing a shabby job on calling this as "excellent" condition AND shipping a delicate speaker in a makeshift box with negligent behavior.

Perfect add to your Formation sound bar. It is an expensive system, but will no longer need to replace mediocre systems because of subpar products. My buyers remorse was gone in two days since I know I won’t be purchasing mid tier systems once a year. Think of it as an investment that you can build over time.

If you are looking for Boom Box bass, ignore this sub.
If you are looking for clarity and true bass, then spend the extra money.
They use Bowers and Wilkins products in Abbey Road Studios, what does this tell you?
Personally, I have never heard better for the price range.
