ANC Headphones That Prioritize Sound First
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.📦 UNBOXING: Inside the box, you’ll find the headphone case with the headphone inside, and some documentation to get started. Inside the case, you’ll find a nice USB Type-C to Type-C cable, and a USB-C to 3.5mm cable for analog audio. 💪 BUILD: Upon first impression, the hard case is very sturdy and doesn’t flex, so it won’t compress when put in a bag. The magnetic flap inside the case is strong so you shouldn’t have any problems keeping the cables organized. The headphone itself is fairly lightweight and uses primarily plastic for its construction with some metal, as well as fabric on the back of the ear cups. The earcups rotate 180 degrees to get a good fit for many head shapes, and the headband seems to flex reasonably wide for larger heads. ⚙️ CONTROLS: On the left ear cup, you’ll find the power/pairing switch as well as the quick action button which by default toggles between ANC, Transparency and Off. You can change the quick action button to toggle your voice assistant instead, but I don’t see why anybody would want that. Many other headphones allow you to hold the play/pause button to spawn your voice assistant, but that doesn’t work here. The right ear cup has the play/pause button and volume up and down buttons. You can also navigate tracks by double-pressing to go forward a track or triple-pressing to go backward. You can also use the play/pause button to answer, reject or end calls with a tutorial in the app to explain every control. One thing that I really like is how responsive the wear sensor is. Whenever I lift an ear cup off my head or remove the headphones, the playback immediately pauses. You can adjust this sensitivity or completely disable this behavior from the app. As for complaints, I think the only thing I dislike about these physical controls is that they’re quite small, so it can be a bit hard to find them at first, but I’ve acclimated pretty quickly. Another thing I would have liked to see would be a way to switch which devices the headphone was connected to via the power toggle on the left ear cup. As it stands right now, a quick slide up on that switch currently does nothing. I think it could be an intuitive way to switch devices without needing to use your app to tell the headphone which device to reconnect to, or manually connecting to the headphone via the device itself. With that said, the headphone does connect to two devices simultaneously. If I’m playing music on my laptop, but switch to a music app on my phone, it immediately pauses playback on my laptop and begins playback on my phone. In my experience, this has probably been one of the best executions of this feature I’ve experienced yet, as it works quickly and reliably. ☁️ COMFORT: The Px7 S3 has a shallower ear cup compared to some other headphones, and while it doesn’t feel spacious, it also doesn’t feel confined to me. The headband padding is plush and provides decent comfort for the apex of your scalp so you don’t feel pain. The clamp force isn’t egregious out of the box, so I had a comfortable listening experience from the start. The ear pads are also plush so they won’t cause unnecessary pressure on your jaw, and I’m able to get a closed seal so there aren't any issues with noise leakage. 🎧 SOUND QUALITY: Out of the box, the Px7 S3’s “True Sound” EQ profile has a bassy sound profile with a touch of bloat into the midrange, but I did not find the bloat to dramatically influence my listening experience. For R&B, Hip Hop, Pop and Electronic, this stock sound profile can be very pleasant, as it lets vocals through cleanly while also delivering exciting bass performance without muddying the instrumentation. For metal, rock and alternative, I think the Px7 S3 could sometimes deliver more bass than desirable as it steals some energy from the midrange where guitars will be most prevalent. However, the 5-band EQ lets you adjust this in 0.5dB increments. It’s not exactly clear which frequencies Bowers & Wilkins lets you control in their EQ since it simply has labels for LO, MID and HI. But I did overall find that it was reasonably effective in obtaining a more pleasant sound profile to my ears. The headphone has a more intimate sound stage, but instrument separation is good and vocals stay centered in the mix without being too prominent or too small. Compared to the competition for ANC headphones around this price range, I think the Px7 S3 is one of the bassier headphones I’ve tested, but one that delivers bass with good control, low distortion, and packs a punch without severely compromising the midrange. The treble to me, is normally a touch warm for some of my music which is great for avoiding fatigue, but there is a bit of sibilance which might be more prevalent for some music libraries, so EQ can become your friend if you encounter that. I also appreciate that you can use the headphone in a wired USB-C configuration with the internal DAC. It does charge while in use, and you do need to power the headphone on to use it wired. At the time of writing, Bowers & Wilkins is working on a spatial audio implementation that will come in a future firmware update. 🔊 ANC / AMBIENT SOUND: The ANC performance is a notch lower than the mainstays in ANC headphones, but it is still quite good. If ANC performance is higher on your priority list compared to sound quality, then you will probably want to consider the latest options from the competition, but if you want to prioritize sound quality over ANC, I do think the Px7 S3 is a solid performer. The sound of children shouting and screaming will still manage to peak in, but during music playback it’s much less distracting—especially on busier tracks. Many other headphones have the ability to control ANC strength, but that doesn’t appear to be an option with this headphone. Personally, it’s not something I usually care about, as I don’t feel a strong pressure effect on the Px7 S3, and if I want to hear noise, I can just turn on the Transparency mode or turn off ANC. Speaking of the transparency mode, it sounds like a thin veil is placed over your ears, so you lose some clarity and a bit of loudness, but it’s quite good. I don’t hear a grainy noise floor like some other headphones when the transparency mode is enabled. 🎙️ MICROPHONE QUALITY: There are 8 microphones in total, with 4 mics per earcup. Bowers & Wilkins claims that on each ear cup is 1x Feedback microphone and 2x Feed-Forward microphones, and these are used especially for the noise cancellation. However, all 8 microphones are also used during calls to isolate speech from background noise and to deliver clear speech audio. In my testing, I find that the sound signature leans warm, but not muffled. If you’re speaking quietly, it may struggle to pick up your voice, but these would be great for conference calls and phone calls, alike. During USB-C usage, the microphone appears as a 1-channel 16 bit 3200MHz device, so you can use it for better microphone quality during conference calls or even gaming on Discord in a pinch. 📱 SOFTWARE: The app requires you to create a Bowers & Wilkins account, which I don’t love, but that appears to be the trend these days. The app provides firmware updates, switching between your custom EQs, pairing, removing and connecting to different devices, and toggling between your environment modes. You can also toggle the auto standby mode or the wear sensor. Eventually, they’ll be providing their spatial audio feature and Bluetooth LE Audio through a firmware update. 🔋 BATTERY: Bowers & Wilkins claims you can get 30 hours of playback with ANC enabled, and it only requires a 15 minute charge to get 7 hours of playback. This is on-par with the competition’s playback time with ANC enabled, so you won’t feel like you’re making a compromise here. 🧐 CONCLUSION: Overall, I feel that the Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S3 is a good all-rounder ANC headphone. It has a nice premium hard case, and the design aesthetic leans premium and elegant. But it does very well when it comes to out-of-box sound quality compared to a lot of other premium headphones in this price bracket. While I think its ANC is a notch below the leaders of this category, I also find that the Px7 S3 prioritizes better sound in a way that the market leaders don’t. Moreover, the fact that you can use it in a USB-C DAC mode with good microphone support makes it more versatile for those moments where there might be too much wireless interference or you simply need lower latency.

Wireless Luxury; Not Quite Lossless on iOS
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m using these with an Apple iPhone 16 PRO, iOS v18.6. If you take your music very seriously, you will not be disappointed at all with the Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S3 Noise Cancelling Wireless Headphones (from this point forward, I’ll refer to them as “B&W Headphones”). The sound is rich, crystal clear, well-balanced, and powerful. No matter what the genre. The bass response is impressive, although in songs that are bass-heavy, the 40mm drivers bottom out (mechanical distortion) even under moderate volume; this is not necessarily the case with all 40mm drivers generally speaking. This issue can typically be eliminated by adjusting the iPhone’s equalizer. The distortion does not occur frequently, is dependent on the song and volume, and should not be reason for a ‘buy / don’t buy’ decision alone. These work great for iPhone users, but, the B&W Headphones are not truly HiFi/lossless (see the last paragraph of this review). The B&W Headphones feel much like silk against your ears, and hold tight enough to your head so they don’t move, while remaining incredibly comfortable for hours of continuous use. These are pretty remarkable. The ear cups are thin, so they look and feel lighter (not clunky). The app is visually pleasing to look at and use, and the B&W Headphones pair effortlessly. I like apps like this to look ‘clean’ with the ability to hide information that you don’t need or want. There is an area called ‘Curated By Bowers & Wilkins’ that include selections for podcasts and sample play lists that you cannot hide or otherwise get rid of. There is also a feature called ‘Add More Music’, where you can link your favorite music streaming services. There is a lengthy list, but it does not include Spotify, Apple Music, or Amazon Music, all of which are in the Top 4 music streaming services for 2025. This is a big miss in my opinion; I’m not able to link my streaming service, yet I have to look at the feature in bold on the app’s Home screen. Let me hide the feature and/or put it under its own Menu/dropdown. For me, it totally muddies up the app’s aesthetic. It functions very well however. Other Items: ***The three buttons on the right ear cup (volume, play/pause/rewind/skip ahead) are too small and/or thin. So if I need to pause music, or move to a different track, it’s easy for my thumb to hit the wrong button, and I spend time feeling them out, and sometimes just pull out my iPhone to adjust what I need to. ***The ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) is not completely effective. It does work great, but there are times where ambient sound is not cancelled (an example would be an air conditioner or fan in the background). ***On a full charge, the battery is impressive; it lasts for a really long time, even with increased volume and the ANC on. ***The carrying case is very sturdy, and even includes a compartment for a USB-C cable. In consideration of audiophiles, the B&W Headphones support advanced Bluetooth codecs like LDAC and aptX Adaptive, but iPhone users are limited to AAC — so you won’t get true lossless or Hi-Fi wireless playback. If you want to bypass that limitation, the headphones can also be used over USB-C, which avoids AAC compression by sending a direct digital signal into the B&W Headphones internal DAC and amp. It’s not a pure analog passthrough, but it does deliver cleaner sound than Bluetooth on iOS.

Great Audio with Deep Bass and Noise Cancelation
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Px7 S3 combines excellent sound quality and good noise cancelation with a very comfortable headset! Design The Px7 S3 headphones have a clean, elegant, design that's rounded all over. There's a nice textured fabric on the top of the headband. The bottom of the headband has a smooth surface with a very comfortable padding, the part that goes against your head. That same soft material is on the earpiece pads that go over your ear. I find the headphones very comfortable to wear, both in weight and fit. There's a slight angle to the ear pieces so the bottom goes in a bit farther than the top of them, as I think they should be, or at least for a snug fit on my head. It also includes a case with a what looks like a molded fit for the headphones. The case also has a compartment which hold the included USB C to USB C charging cable and the included USB C to 1/8" Stereo (headphone jack) cable. Please see the included pictures showing the case and the cables. My Px7 S3 is the "Indigo Blue" color. Sometimes it's hard to tell in pictures, so for what it's worth, I think it looks more like purple and less like blue. There are four mics on each earpiece (eight mics total) for voice pickup and noise cancellation. It supports a number of Bluetooth codecs, AptX Lossless, AptX Adaptive, AptX HD, AptX Classic, ACC, and SBC. Controls The controls are in the inner perimeter of the outside of the headphones instead of the very outside, as with some headphones. I think this is helpful so I'm less likely to press buttons if I don't want to when taking the headphones off or putting them on. The buttons have a good feel to them. They're very easy to press but I can tell when they've been pressed and can feel for them without pressing them by accident. The right earpiece has play/pause, volume up, and volume down. Personally I prefer having a dial for the volume but the up/down buttons work well. It can also be used for answering (play button) and hanging up calls (double press play button) and Next/Previous track (double and triple-press on the play button respectively). Probably my favorite control implementation is that it pauses music when you take the headphones off, or even just lift one side, and then resumes playback when you put it back on. You can adjust the sensitivity of the auto-pause when removing in the app. The left side has the Power/Bluetooth switch and a configurable "Quick Action" button that I'll talk about later. Music | Bowers & Wilkins App Besides great sound quality, there's the "Music | Bowers & Wilkins" app that adds a few options. There's an "Advanced EQ". This gives you a 5 band graphic equalizer. You can use the default "True Sound" which looks flat, all bands at 0. It says "Experience audio with the authenticity of the original recording - nothing added, nothing taken away", so that makes sense, and it does sound great and natural, unaltered to my ear. Even with the default setting the sound is extremely rich to me. Most of the time I'm listening I have Dolby enabled on my phone or my laptop just because I normally do, but I've turned that off too and is still sounds great, just a bit less full - as it should sound less full without the Dolby modifications to the audio. Besides "True Sound" there is a "Custom" option. It's very easy to make and save your own pre-sets. I created three settings, one to boost Bass, one to boost Treble and one called Boost that boosts Bass and Treble but not the mid range. Each works as it should. With some music my Bass boost setting made the music sound muddled, but it did really make the excellent bass even more bass-y. I can switch between them instantly in the app while listening. You can also use the app to change the "Environment" setting from "Noise Cancellation", "Pass-Through", or "Off". There's a "Quick Action" button on the headphones that by default toggles through the three "Environment Control" settings. You can configure that button to launch your Voice Assistant if you want. I wish there was an option there to toggle through Advance EQ settings, but maybe they'll add that in a software update. You can also link the app to any of the following streaming services: qobuz, Tidal, deezer, Amazon Music, pandora, TuneIn, SoundCloud, and NTS. I think they're all services that support very high quality audio. Sound, Calling, and Noise Cancelation The sound of these headphones has impressed me a lot. For one thing, the bass is excellent, not deep and messy, deep and tight - clear and rich. Not only is the bass great, but it produces clear and rich vocals while playing bass. It seems very well balanced and strong at all frequencies. I used it with the headphone jack adapter (included) connected to my laptop for playing games and man, there are nuanced sounds that I normally don't hear but can hear clearly using these headphones! In a soccer game all the sounds of the crowd and other background noises come through so well, it was like a new experience. It's the kind of thing where I didn't realize what I was missing until I tried with these headphones. I also tested it with calling over a Bluetooth connection to my cell phone and was impressed again! Of course with the headphones on, I could hear the person I was talking with very clearly. The cooler things was that with music playing loudly in the background, in the room I was in, the person who I was talking with could still hear me very loud and clear. They could tell there was some music in the background but couldn't even tell which song it was until I turned it up even louder. Even then I was still loud and clear for them, making it easy to carry on a conversation while the loud music was playing. I could hear the music but it was soft enough for me to still talk on the phone as well. If you need to take phone calls in noisy environments, the Px7 S3 could be the perfect option for you! Overall the noise cancellation worked well. I wasn't impressed with it in some situations. Some quite sounds didn't seem to be canceled out, others, like the fan on my laptop, were totally canceled from what I could hear. For instance, I may hear someone talking next to me, through my head maybe, but if they were in another room trying to talk with me they would eventually come over because I couldn't hear a word they were saying. One great thing about the noise cancelation in these headphones is I've used some similar headphones that create what to me is a very noticeable "pressure" for lack of a better word, to do the noise cancelation. It's not anything you can hear but it really just feels like pressure on your head or ears. It didn't really bother me but I like that these don't do that, at least that I can notice. Summary The Px7 S3 from Bowers & Wilkens is a great set of headphones with excellent sound reproduction and some helpful features. They produce deep bass and rich treble, and everything in-between with perfect clarity! If you're looking for great sounding headphones with noise cancelation, this is a pair you should consider!

Audio Quality King
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Bowers and Wilkins Px7S3s have all of the core features you’d expect from a flagship noise canceling over-ear headphone. Build quality is excellent with a metal chassis, metal buttons, supple earcups, and plenty of padding on the headband. They weigh in right around 300 grams and are very comfortable to wear for hours on end. Definitely good because advertised battery life is 30 hours. The hard shell case they come in is fantastic with a dedicated storage space for the included USB C charging cable and aux cord that includes a magnetic closing lid. Like any good product in 2025, there is an app that allows you to check battery life, toggle between noise canceling and passthrough, and mess with EQ settings. Where the Px7S3s stand out compared to the competition is their audio quality. Bowers and Wilkins has prioritized reproducing sound with extremely high fidelity. I’ve been doing my best to listen to a mix of music genres since these arrived and I’ve been most blown away with how they reproduce classic rock and instrumental music. Silver Springs by Fleetwood Mac and Rocketman by Elton John (just some of my favorite songs) have such rich sound, crisp lyrics, and balanced bass that doesn’t feel artificial in any way. With minimal effort, you can focus strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion, and keyboard separately which is pretty amazing. If audio quality is your #1 priority, these are absolutely the headphones for you! Is there anything not to like? For the average user, no. However, if you have multiple pairs of over-ear headphones like I do, there are two main things that fall short for me with the Px7S3s. While I greatly appreciate that there are physical buttons in a world that wants to make everything capacitive touch or hands free, the buttons are small and hard to navigate while the headphones are being worn. They work great, just aren’t easy to find quickly. The second thing that’s worth mentioning is that other brands simply do noise cancellation and passthrough more effectively than Bowers and Wilkins. Do these features work on the Px7S3s? Of course, noise cancellation just doesn’t block out all frequencies of ambient noise and passthrough doesn’t feel quite as natural as other brands. If you can test a few brands side by side in store at Best Buy, this will make much more sense. All in all, the Px7S3s justify their value with their build quality, audio quality, and comfort. As I mentioned before, if audio quality is #1 for you, these should be at the top of your list. If your priority is noise cancellation or the latest and greatest controls/features, check out some other brands.

Sleek, Sexy, and Superb Audio Quality w/ ANC
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been putting these Px7 S3s through their paces and they have quickly become my go to headphones for work, travel, and even when doing tasks around the house. As a techie, I've owned a countless amount of bluetooth and wireless headphones over the last couple of decades. These are by far the best sounding ANC bluetooth headphones that I've had the pleasure of owning; specifically for music listening. Not only that, but they seem to offer some of the best design and construction available in the current market (at least as of Q3 2025). The fit and build quality is exceptional. The Px7 S3s are constructed from aluminum, premium plastics, nylon fabrics, synthetic leather, and memory foam. When holding them in your hands, you can tell that you're holding a high end product. I love the use of intricately woven nylon fabric on the top of the headband and around the exterior of the earcups. The top of the headband is an area that usually takes a lot of abuse and this rigid nylon fabric feels like it will hold up well over time. The headband extension feels very sturdy and glides like butter when lengthening or shortening the headband to fit my head. The swivel points on the headband also pivot very smoothly. They are built extremely solid and to a very high degree. The execution in build quality is simply second to none. I can also attest that these are some of the most comfortable headphones that have ever braced my head. The memory foam on the leatherette earcups, and underside of the headband, are exquisitely soft and supple. Bowers & Wilkins perfectly nailed just the right amount of clamping force on the headband too. It's just tight enough to create a really good seal on your ears, to prevent audio leakage, but not too tight to the point where you start feeling clamping fatigue after long listening sessions. Due to the carefully curated choice of construction materials, the headphones feel lightweight and very low profile. This makes these Px7 S3s perfect for on the go and travel. The audio quality for music listening is where the Px7 S3s truly shine. By default, the Px7 S3s are tuned with Bowers & Wilkins "True Sound" which maintains a relatively balanced sound signature. I quite enjoy the default pre-set for most of the genres I listen to (i.e. Jazz, metal, classical, electronic, country, blues, hip hop). However, the Bowers & Wilkins app is a must download in my opinion. Certain albums I listened to really benefited from the boosted lows or mids. Once tuned using the EQ, I was able to get some phenomenal sound. Highs and mids were very detailed with good separation. While the best instrument discernibility I've ever heard was from open back headphones, the Px7 S3s are quite impressive for closed backs. When listening to more vocal tracks, the sound is very present and natural. The low frequency produces the style of bass that I love the most; tight and controlled versus overly sustained. Watching movies surprisingly sounded good as well. The dialogue was very forward sounding and clear. Explosions sounded pronounced and without any type of distortion. The active noise cancellation (ANC) and call quality are also superb. I have been using these daily at work and on the subway during my commute. I work in a very noisy office environment and when I had active noise cancellation enabled, all external noise was completely muted which allowed me to focus on my work. This was also the case on the subway. Coupled with a good seal around the ears, I cant stress how good of a job Bowers & Wilkins did on the noise cancellation aspect of these headphones. I also love the pass-through feature for the office. You can either quickly access the button at the top of the left earcup, or toggle it on using the Bowers & Wilkins app. It did a great job of allowing some of the ambient sound in so that I could hear my co-workers if they were calling me over for something. Call quality was also good. I've made several calls throughout the week and asked my colleagues and friends how I sounded and they all said I said sounded clear with no drops in quality. Overall, I love my new Px7 S3s. They are the best bluetooth headphones I've owned. Oh, I almost forgot to mention. They are also the absolute best bluetooth pairing and multi-device bluetooth switching headphones I've ever tried (you can switch between two devices at once and pair up to 8 devices). They are flawless when pairing with any BT device. Switching over from one device to another is seamless and quick. Do bear in mind that you can only listen to one source at time though. The only two minor caveats I have is that I wish the earcups were real leather (to increase longevity) and wish that there were replaceable earcups that you could purchase directly Bowers & Wilkins website. As we all know, leatherette, or even real leather for that matter, can start flaking off after several years or months of hard wear and tear. I would have loved to have seen an option to buy additional earcups, or even velour pads, as an option. Other than that, these are a 5 star product. I highly recommend checking these out if you're in the market for a high end set of bluetooth headphones with fantastic active noise cancellation!

Not an Audiophile, but These Made Me Feel Like One
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not exactly an audiophile; I can't tell you about the intricacies of soundstages or the precise warmth of mid-tones. But I do love music. It’s the soundtrack to my commute, my workday, and my downtime. For years, I've been using the same popular brands of noise-canceling headphones as everyone else, and they've been... fine. They did the job, but I always felt like something was missing. With the Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S3, I may have finally found what I was looking for. Right out of the box, you can tell these are a step up. Instead of the all-plastic feel I was used to, the Px7 S3 have a great mix of fabric and metal that feels incredibly premium. They have a certain weight to them that feels substantial, not heavy, and just look and feel sophisticated. This quality extends to the slim, sturdy carrying case, which was a nice touch. But the premium feel is just the beginning. Where the Px7 S3 completely won me over is the sound. I could pick out individual instruments and background vocals, and even some bass lines that I'd never noticed before. Everything is just so clear and detailed, but not in a sterile, boring way. The bass is punchy without being overwhelming, and vocals sound incredibly lifelike. It’s not just about blocking out the world; it’s about being pulled into the music. It’s an experience that makes you want to go back through your entire library just to see what you've been missing. In terms of daily use, I was a bit worried about comfort, as I'd read they have a snug fit. They definitely do, but it's not uncomfortable. The earpads are soft and plush, and while they fit securely on my head, I've worn them for hours at a time without any major issues, though my ears do get a little warm. I also really appreciate the physical buttons for controls; my old headphones had touch controls that I was constantly triggering by accident. The battery life is also fantastic, letting me go for days without a charge. I was also pleasantly surprised with the call quality. People on the other end have told me my voice comes through clearly, and the microphones do a good job of focusing on me instead of the noise around me. It's a solid performer for calls, which is a great bonus. As for the noise cancellation, I can't say it's the best, but it’s right there and more than enough for me. While the competition from Bose and Sony might have a slight edge if your only goal is a completely silent bubble, the Px7 S3 easily blocks out the rumble of the bus and the general chatter of my office. What I like most is that it feels more natural and doesn't have that weird "pressure" feeling some headphones can create. It's strong enough to let me focus on my music without completely detaching me from my surroundings. The Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S3 are not the cheapest headphones out there, and they might not have the absolute strongest noise cancellation on the market. But for someone who truly loves music and wants a premium listening experience, I don't think these will disappoint. If you're looking for headphones that feel as good as they sound and prioritize music above all else, I can fully recommend these. They are a true treat for your ears.

Big Sound not for Big Heads
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Short: These headphones sound amazing but after about an hour they get uncomfortable! What I like: -The indigo blue color looks premium -The styling on the top of the band and around the headphone cups is a nice touch -Physical buttons… -The sound is amazing…dialogue is crisp when watching movies and clear when listening to music -I love the 5 band EQ -The app is easy to use -Bluetooth Syncs up right when I turn on the headset -Battery life is amazing Room for improvement: -More padding on the ear cups -upgrade to better material for ear cups -change the design on arms the ear cups attach to -make the band more flexible -ANC is not good I noticed the ear pieces want to slide back off my ears. The curved arm of the ear cups are attached to create a pivot point that makes fit very hard. 1 hour into my movie I noticed the ear cups starting to become warm and but not sweaty. Movie dialogue sound excellent. I really enjoy the sound playback. Bass sounds good. Vocals sound good. I could turn up the mids a bit using the equalizer. I like the simplicity app over Sony’s music app (Sound Connect). Bluetooth pairing was quick. Never had any dropouts. I don’t have a super big head or super large ears but my head is big enough to maximize the headband stretch and expansion. I could never find comfort while wearing these. I keep going back to my XM3s for comfort and to these for sound. ANC is not good. I can still hear ambient dialogue with ANC on. It does sound damp other frequencies good. ANC pass through does just that. I feel with ANC on I get a noticeable change in the sound profile so I just turn ANC off. Bose ultra comfort are probably the most comfortable headphones on the market IMO. But I do believe these B&W headphones sound better. I would not even try to use them at the gym. These headphones do look premium. Voice recording sounds good too for anyone who likes taking voice memos. You will also love the buttons. I do wish B&W made each button slightly different to get the tactile feedback. Unlike my XM3s there won’t be any ghost touches when laying down and listening to these headphones.

A True Virtuoso
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We are spoiled with so many excellent mid-level wireless headphone options. Each has their standout ability but after using these for just a few days I think the Bowers & Wilkens PX7_S3 might offer the most value at this mid-level right now. It’s look, build quality, and comfort immediately grabs you. Then it’s tight, natural native sound holds your attention. My only negatives are minor, and I will note them as I move along. But broad picture, these B+Ws should be at least a candidate on your list. So here is my experience with the PX7_S3 and its key features. BUILD QUALITY The PX7_S3 arrives in a beautiful, zippered storage case covered in a grippy textured nylon fabric. It’s even color matched to the headphones which also has this cloth enhancing the top of the headband and back of the earpieces. This coordination is an upscale look that reminds me of luxury cars with matching luggage. I also appreciate the long nylon zipper pull making access quick and easy. Normally headphone cases are afterthoughts but clearly B+W put some thought into this one and it continues in the interior design. The inside is lined with a velvety material. It’s another nice touch, literally, that adds to the PX7_S3’s premium ambiance. These are not inexpensive headphones, yet they made me feel like they cost even more than they do. It’s a satisfying experience to feel like your money was well spent. I was thrilled to see a magnetic lidded compartment with a USB-C cable and USB-C to mini jack cable inside. It’s great having a home for these cables. One small nitpick – it opens by forcing a finger under it. A sewn-in grab loop would make this easier. The first raising the PX7_S3 out of the case is a sensual treat. Almost everything about them screams first-class. Even though the stems are plastic, I wondered momentarily if they were metal. And while the earpads and interior headband are artificial leather, I prefer it because it’s easier to maintain. Regardless, they are soft, supple, and have plenty of cushion. Capping its refined design, the outside earpiece plate is aluminum, I think. In sum, The PX7_S3 ’s look and feel exceptional. But one more quibble. I wish B+W branding was more discreet like it’s chief competitors. The PX7_S3 doesn’t fold up but that also means you won’t accidentally twist of something further than it should be turned. It also means they easily plunk down into the case. THE COLOR BURPLE I have the “Indigo Blue” model. Two other colorways are available too, all black and white with silver trim. I haven’t seen the latter two in person so I won’t mention them further. Blue is my favorite color so I may be biased here but I think Indigo Blue is a fantastic color option to standard black. But it’s not for everyone because it’s not always true blue. The headband, stems, and earpads are in the Navy Blue family, but on the lighter end. These all hold their color. The reflectivity of the metal on the earpieces, however, gives a wider spectrum. Depending on the light, these can throw off unmistakably purplish tones. I’m not a fan of purple, but it works here. It’s a cool effect and contrast to the rest of the headphones. However, if purple is not in your color palette, or the person you might gift these too, then you’ll want to go with one of the other “safer” colors. FUNCTIONALITY (And App) Setup is a non-affair. Use them wired and they sound amazing out of the box. The PX7_S3 has an internal DAC so it’s ready play lossless and high resolution audio using this connection method. For wireless use, they pair like most other Bluetooth devices or use B+W’s app to assist you. The app is available for iOS and Android and unlike the detailed storage case it’s an organizational mess and offers limited usefulness. It’s basic feature are: 1. a 5-band equalizer, 2. duplicating the Noise Control options and 3. the ability to change the Quick Access button to trigger a voice assistant like Siri rather than the Noise Cancellation modes. Everything else is ads for streaming services and other clutter. Five bands are adequate but given the cost of these I sure would like the ability to dial in my sound a bit more. But the bigger offense is the equalizer is buried. You can save presets but to access them later requires a lot of scrolling and tapping. Nutty for such a core functionality. Another annoyance is a B+W account is required to use the app. It’s ridiculous to have to give up personal information to access a headphone equalizer. The PX7_S3 ’s controls are all hard buttons or switches. I’m agnostic to whether control is by physical or virtual buttons that use gestures. I just want it to be intuitive and comfortable. By that standard I give the PX7_S3 ’s a 3 out of 5. The layout is fine with the volume and a multi-function button on the right side and the aforementioned Quick Access button and power/Bluetooth switch on the left. But I find the ergonomics awkward. Specifically, the button location is an uncomfortable reach compounded by them being too small to immediately recognize. The multi-function button is coarse but not tactile enough to immediately know it’s the multi-function button. I do, however, welcome the power/Bluetooth slider for easier visual confirmation. So many times long presses to power off have come back to bite me with a dead battery. COMFORT My two major comfort factors are 1. Clamping force, and 2. Earhole size. B+W did great with both. The clamping force is in the “Goldilocks” range; neither too harsh and headache making nor so light the creep around when active. Even the earhole is anatomically angled like a human ear. I like this approach compared to the fishbowl that other headphones are. My ears are average size, but they stick out like Alfred. E. Neuman’s. I’ve worn the PX7_S3 for hours long sessions with no complaints, but I still feel like I’m wearing headphones. Weight, and more importantly weight distribution is also a comfort consideration. The PX7_S3 feels slightly heavy but balanced on me. Nothing is pushing me to any side or weighing me down. I have a small head for a guy so I would notice more than someone of even an average size. There is plenty of cushioning and airflow too. I’ve yet to feel like my ears are in a sauna. That said, I’ve mostly worn them inside in air conditioning. SOUND QUALITY Judging audio is a tricky matter because there are so many factors that influence sound. On the song end their production quality of the original master and the codec your copy. Wired or Bluetooth playback factor in on playback too. And, of course, the device used to play the song matters to. Apple devices are not AptX Lossless compatible while Android is, and Windows 11 can be if you have the right hardware. To grasp the PX7_S3’s true native sound and capabilities, my first listen was on my Mac with lossless (ALAC) files using the USB-C cable supplied in the PX7_S3 box. Thanks to the PX7_S3 ’s built-in DAC I didn’t need anything else to listen to lossless audio this way. I sampled a variety of rock genres including heavy metal, punk, alt, folk, grunge plus some big band jazz and classical to round things out. What I heard was audio that was more or less on point for high end, but still consumer grade, headphones. Vocals were clean, instrument separation was noticeable, an authentic liveliness or soulfulness, depending on the song, that struck my emotions. All of this without adding any equalization. If the PX7_S3 has a fault maybe it’s a touch weak in the mids. If it bothers you there is the equalizer to give it or the other frequencies a boost, but to my ears the sound is pretty unbiased. While I can’t be certain, my guess is Android users playing songs via AptX Lossless probably will hear something similar, though dampened a degree or two. Even a great Bluetooth Codec is not going to match wired one to one. Next, I sampled some 320 kbps AAC songs via Bluetooth on my iPhone. Given the compression I knew the sound would be dulled accordingly. And it was, but better than expected, especially at volumes up to about 25%. Volume shouldn’t matter but it’s what I heard. By the way, the PX7_S3 ’s are quite clear and listenable well before hitting 50% volume. The wireless AAC sound was still nowhere as rich as wired ALAC. No comparison. But the AAC file was “repairable” with a few tweaks of the equalizer. At that point songs felt engaging and dimensional. NOISE CANCELLING My standard noise cancelling test is inside an airplane cabin. I’m at home all week so if I decided if I can’t take the PX7_S3 ’s into the plane I’ll test them outside of one. A nearby park is on the edge of a runway so that’s where I went. The short of my test was the PX7_S3’s noise cancellation abilities are overall excellent. Between 20-50% volume, the noise cancellation handles external noise up to 70dB excellently. The only intrusions I noticed were things like loud bike bells and high pitched electric scooters. But planes taking air 100 ft away were inaudible. Even motorboats and a 10 mph wind were silent. In fact, the airplanes only made themselves known once they were directly above me and the sound level was around 100 dB. At that point they did completely drown out the song playing. Between 70-100 dB the noise cancellation’s effectiveness decreased proportionally. I could have compensated by raising the volume above 50% but I don’t like to go above that level. It’s plenty loud and I like my ears. CALL QUALITY At their heart these are for enjoying music. Being able to catch a call on them is a bonus. In that light I find the call clarity with noise cancelling very good. Just like music sampling there are outside factors here, namely the quality of the connection and the other person’s equipment. That said, I made a couple test calls, one inside, one outside. Audio quality on my end was clear and distraction free and the person on the other end said I sounded fine as well.

Superb Premium Headphones
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S3 noise-cancelling headphone is an attractive, slim, and elegant looking headphone with a premium build quality. The package includes the following items: Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S3 headphones Fabric carrying case USB-C to USB-C charging cable USB-C to 3.5mm audio cable Quick Start Guide & Warranty and Safety Pamphlet Main Specifications are 2 × 40mm dynamic full-range bio-cellulose driver 8 mics total (4 mics per earcup) High-performance DSP with dedicated DSP and amplifier/DAC True 24-bit audio connection Five-band customisable EQ + TrueSoundTM mode Bluetooth 5.3 supports aptXTM Lossless, aptX Adaptive, aptX HD, aptX Classic, AAC, and SBC Multipoint connectivity Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) USB-C charging and audio interface Apple MFI Made For iPhone® support and Google Fast Pair 30 hours playback with 15-minute charge for 7 hours playback Setup The left ear cup contains the On/Off/Pairing switch along with a customizable Quick Action button. At the bottom of the left ear cup is a USB-C charging port. The right ear cup contains the volume Up/Down and playback/call buttons. The setup was very simple. There is an app but you don’t actually have to use it. You can manually pair the headphones using Bluetooth without using the app. When I toggled the Bluetooth pairing button, my computer automatically displayed a pop-up and quickly paired with the headphone. Bluetooth pairing was very fast. Android app You can install the android app to get more features such as access to the 5-band equalizer and the ability to customize the Quick Action button. You can have the Quick Action button to activate the environment control settings (Noise Cancellation, Pass-Through, or have ANC set to OFF) or bring up your voice assistant. You can also set the Auto-Standby time and the sensitivity (Low, Normal, High) of the Wear Sensor on the headphone. The Android app also allows you to update the firmware on the headphone. At the time of this review, I got a notice that a new firmware was available and updated the firmware from v1.1.0 to v1.2.0. Comfort The ear cups and head band have a nice soft cushion and the clamping force was firm but not uncomfortable. In my hands, the headphones didn’t feel like the lightest but when I actually wore them on my head, they felt very light. In addition, the ear cups had enough interior space so that my ears didn’t feel pressed. Overall, these are very comfortable headphones. Call Quality I used the headphones in a Zoom meeting on my work laptop and the voices sounded very clear and easily understandable. To test how I sounded to others during the Zoom meeting, I used the sound recorder on my computer to record my voice using the headphone’s microphones. I thought my voice sounded very clear and the noise cancellation seemed to do a decent job of lowering the background noise to highlight my voice. For cell phone call quality, I used my cell phone to call my landline to leave a message. The greeting message quality from my answering machine was excellent. It was the clearest I have ever experienced. However, the voice message that I left on my landline wasn’t that impressive as it was somewhat low in volume. But I think that has more to do with my landline’s voice mail recorder and not an indication of what I sound like to others during a phone call. Noise Cancelation There are 3 Environment settings: Noise-Cancellation, Pass-Through, and Off. For a test to see how effective noise cancellation was, I played a YouTube video on my computer as background noise. I also turned on a floor fan for extra background noise. When Environment was set to Off, I could hear the muffled fan and the YouTube video. The background sounds were being naturally muffled by having a physical object (the headphones) blocking sound to my ears. When I set Environment to Pass-Through, I could hear everything almost as if I wasn’t wearing any headphones. When Environment was set to Noise-Cancellation, the fan noise was completely gone but I could still hear the YouTube video. However, once I started playing music, I couldn’t hear any background noise at all. Sound Quality The overall sound quality is superb. I was happy with leaving the EQ at its default setting. I really like the Bowers & Wilkins sound. Vocals were clear and crisp. Instruments were well defined and the soundstage seemed intimate. The sound was very smooth with accurate and punchy bass. I also thought the bass was pretty deep and impressive coming from headphones. I tried playing various artists from my music library (Michelle Branch, Pat Benatar, Sara Evans, Diana Krall, Marshall Crenshaw, The Weepies, Crowded House, The Gaslight Anthem, Superman Soundtrack, Harry Potter Soundtrack etc.) and they all sounded great. Summary Overall, I can easily recommend the Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S3 headphones. I personally feel it’s one of the most beautiful looking headphones out there. It feels really comfortable, the sound quality is superb, and it provides really good noise cancellation. It makes me want to listen to my music library again.

A refined, dynamic, and engaging sound experience
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.[ Summary first, along with my rating ] I have been a Bowers & Wilkins audio fan for quite some time (Using the 603 S2, 607 S2, HTM6 S2, and ASW610 speakers for my home entertainment setup), and I am beyond delighted with the premium and excellent sound quality of the Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S3 headphones. Top-notch sound, providing for a refined, dynamic, balanced, and engaging sound overall; deep-feeling, expansive bass, pleasant trebles; if needed, the sound can be adjusted to your hearing pleasure with the B&W's app EQ settings; more on this later), comfortable fit, allowing for long listening sessions, and an impeccable build quality (stylish, sleek, and thin shape, sitting close to your head). Leather-like memory foam on the earcups and a relatively thick headband give it a sturdy and premium feel. The noise cancellation is very effective, which I tested while riding the subway. I would bet that the premium audio experience will thrill and excite sound enthusiasts and occasional music listeners alike. Connecting to music sources via Bluetooth 5.3 (aptX Adaptive and aptX Lossless, ensuring high-quality audio transmission) or wired via supplied USB-C-to-3.5mm wire (for example, for using the headphones in airplanes). Verdict: 5 stars out of 5 stars. I very highly recommend this pair of wireless noise-canceling headphones, the Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S3, particularly for those seeking a premium audio experience with excellent sound quality and effective noise cancellation (6 out of the 8 built-in microphones are used for providing the most perfect noise cancellation). Comfort, design, features, and listening experiences make it an excellent and rewarding choice. [ Bowers & Wilkins Music app ] Though you can operate the Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S3 headphones without using their music app (which is available for free on iOS and Android devices), you might want to give this app a try, because of these two features in particular: - Turning "Noise Cancellation On/Off (to block out ambient noise; it intelligently adapts to your environment) - Turning "Pass-Through" on/off (this mode allows for some ambient sound to come in to provide awareness of your surroundings) - Turning "True Sound mode" on and off (to experience audio with the authenticity of the original recording with nothing added and nothing taken away) - Customizing your sound according to your preferences through the 5-band "Advanced Equalizer" (Low - Mid - High) - Updating the firmware/software (e.g., also to add new features); the most recent version at the time of this review was V1.2.0. - Call for help/support (in addition to online support) [ Call Quality) Call quality (no major priority for me, however, they introduced a new voice processing algorithm called ADI pure voice), which works with noise-canceling to deliver a clear and focused call quality, resulting in background noises being kept in check and voices coming through clearly. Even in noisy environments (such as a subway), I have been perfectly audible on the other end. [ Controls ] Physical buttons for Volume-Up, Volume-Down, and Play/Pause are easy to find (without looking) and operate on the right ear cup, and the power buttons are on the left ear cup alongside your Quick Action button. [ Connectivity] Your choice of connecting wirelessly via Bluetooth or using the USB-C-to-3.5 mm audio cable to connect the headphones to an AVR (Audio Video Receiver, providing it features a headphones plug; you may need a 1/4"-to-3.5 mm adapter/cable) and/or airplane entertainment systems. [ Hi-Res music ] Very enjoyable, refined, dynamic, balanced, engaging, distortion-free sound overall, particularly when listening to 96 kHz/24-bit high-resolution audio sources, which the headphones natively support. What stands out is the headphone's expansive bass plus warm and clear trebles. You can locate the instruments easily, especially when listening to classical music. The frequency response is 10 Hz - 22 kHz (wow!). Regarding MP3 or other lossy material, they sound quite amazing, too, of course, possibly even better than experienced before. [ Reference Music I used for testing ] - Classical Music: Forestare Baroque - 12 Guitar Ensemble (96 kHz, 24-bit) - Contemporary Music: Roger Waters - [2025] This Is Not A Drill - Live From Prague (96 kHz,24-bit) - Jazz: Kenny G - Breathless (2.8 MHz/5,644 kbps DSD/SACD) - Reggae: Bob Marley - Legend (192 kHz, 24-bit)

My New #1 Headphone!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just received my Bowers & Wilkins - Px7S3 Wireless Noise Cancelling Over-the-Ear Headphones in Indigo Blue and I gotta say – I love ‘em! Right from the start – the box and packaging left no mistake that these headphones were going to be special. After getting them out the box, you’re greeted with a nice, solid feeling case with a velvety lined interior that exudes excellence. The fit perfectly into the travel case and have a magnetic covered compartment for hold your charging cable and UBS-C to 1/8” stereo jack connector (for wired listening at home or on the airplane). Likely the nicest headphone case I own. Pairing to my iPhone was easy – just like anything else – I immediately played some music to get an initial feel for them. Sound was awesome right out of the box and the fit of the headphones is extremely comfortable on my head and ears. They’ve incorporated nice soft ear cushions and a luxurious padding on the head band as well. Very Nice! While listening to some music – I had a call come in my my iPhone. Knowing that I’ve never had great luck with my voice quality on headphones that don’t have a dedicated boom mic, I wasn’t expecting much. To my surprise, the caller could hear me very will and said the sound was so good it was equal to or better than my normal boom-mic enabled conferencing headphones! That’s a big deal. That’s because there is an eight-microphone array, four per earcup, backed by adaptive noise-cancellation algorithms. If you want access to upgrade the software or customize an equalizer, you'll need to download the Bowers & Wilkins app. I did and upgraded the software without incident, but the app isn't all that much from my perspective. I also don't like providing my information just to get into an app to upgrade software or access the equalizer. There lots more technical stuff I could cover - but I believe the usability results speak louder as you can read about the specs from anywhere. Overall - I'm extremely pleased with these headphones and can't wait to take them on the airplane to test them out there! If you're in the market for new quality headphones that sounds great and look even better - check these out!

Sound as Good as They Look
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve long been interested in trying something from Bowers & Wilkins, based on their reputation, and I mean just look at these indigo blue cans. Couldn’t resist. They look fantastic. The design is a little in the wheelhouse of the AirPods Max, but I much prefer the look of these, particularly in regards to the headband. To my eyes, they just look modern and classic at the same time, which is a high compliment. I haven’t seen the other color options in person, but the blue looks so good I’m not sure at matters - though I think they’d be smart to offer even more color choices. The build quality is as premium as I expected, right down to the case and the small details. (Such as the included USB-C and 3.5mm cables.) There are excellent, large and legible right and left distinctions on the ear cups to help with getting the orientation right; I don’t know why some makers put these in awkward, hard to read spots but that’s certainly not the case here. The tactile, physical buttons are a huge plus in my book. If you’re doing anything active, or say wearing gloves in the cold or doing yardwork then touch controls are a major pain. That’s simply not going to be an issue with these. The power button slides up, and all the others have a nice clicky press to them. The action button is a nice addition, which can be set up in the app to be used for noise cancelling or using your phone’s voice assistant. The sound is… pretty glorious. Acoustic music sounds so dang clean and crisp. i really like the sound of things like that on these headphones. Bass-driven electronic music does not suffer either though; I’m not someone that cranks the bass or seeks out music that is mixed that way to begin with, but if you’re into that kind of thing I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. Again, cables are included given you a lot of flexibility for listening on devices that aren’t using Bluetooth, but wireless sound and range are equally terrific. The app is easy to use and pretty well designed, and getting paired with my devices was as easy as I expect it to be for any set of cans in 2025. One thing on the sound: I can’t find any info on their site, and had no luck in practice, regarding support for Dolby Atmos. While audiophile purists may avoid that format anyway, I think including it would be expected by many, especially given the price of these headphones. Similarly, while comfort is good overall… I still suspect it could be a little better. Everybody’s head and ears are different though, so your mileage may vary. All in all, these are impressively made and have the sound to match.

Great sound and style with a few drawbacks
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Everyone has their weaknesses. Mine is headphones. I love trying out new headphones and am constantly in search the best model. I've tried most of the more popular consumer brands out there such as Sony, Bose, Apple, and Sonos. One of my favorite brands has been Bowers and Wilkins. I've owned their PX7S2 and flagship PX8 headphones. Each has been spectacular. I was excited to try out their brand new PX7S3 headphones. The PX7S3's are a beautiful piece of technology. I got the indigo blue version but they also come in black and an off white color. The smooth blue fabric (pleather?)headphone itself. on the headband and ear cups nicely offsets the shiny blue plastic of the control area. I've always loved the signature curved aluminum legs that Bowers and Wilkins uses to connect the headband to the earcups. It looks stylish and you will get comments on it from those around you. On the left cup there is the power switch and the action button. The action button can be programed in the app to cycle through noise cancellation modes (default) or trigger voice assistant, but you can do both. The right cup has very small volume up/down buttons with a play/pause button in the middle. That's it for controls. I liked that they included actual buttons and not touch surfaces that don't work well. All the buttons are VERY small though and difficult to operate. The headphones came with a color coordinated case that was build extremely well. The headphones fold flat to lay in the case, but they don't hinge tighter like the Sony's. The case will do a good job protecting the headphones when thrown in a bag. I really liked that it had a magnetically closed compartment inside that holds the included usb-c charging cable and usb-c to 3.5mm audio cable. Looks are one thing, but how do they sound? Frankly, they sound terrific, but I expect nothing less from B&W. The sound is rich with deep base and nice highs. It seems to highlights these areas instead of tuning more towards the mids as other brands do. I used the headphones in bluetooth mode and hard wired using the USB-c to 3.5mm cable. Both setups sounded terrific. The headphones have three noise cancellation modes available. These are full ANC, passthru, and off. The mode can be set in the app or using the action button on the left cup. The ANC is average at best. It worked well in my office with the air conditioner running in the background. I haven't tried it on a plane yet, but I imagine it will do well with the background hum of a flight. In a coffee shop, it didn't perform as well. There was a lot of noise and conversation bleed thru. The headphones are multi-point bluetooth which means you cna connect to two devices at once. It will switch between the two when audio is stopped on one and started on the other. This worked really well. I used the headphones on several calls and the people at the other end said they could hear me clearly. I would have no qualms using these for meetings at work. To setup the headphones, B&W wants you to use their music app. I downloaded and used the iOS version on my iphone 16 pro. I have to say my experience with the app did not go well. The headphones connected to it ok and the app immediately wanted to do a firmware update. Things went wrong here. It took 4 attempts and about 2 hours to get the app to successfully update the firmware. It just kept failing at various points of the process. At one point, the headphones were linked to the app but not showing up in the bluetooth list on my iphone. I still haven't figured out how that happened. Very frustrating. The app lets you change settings on the headphone like ANC modes and has a basic 5 channel audio tuning system. It also shows you what device the headphones are connected to. B&W wants you to link your music services to the app and use the app as your music hub. It's extremely limited though. It had 7 music service offerings but the only two I recognized was Tidal and Pandora. I don't belong to either, so this didn't work for me. Ther eare no options for Apple music, Spotify, Amazon, or other common services. Once the equalizer is set, I don't see a need for the app anymore. As for comfort, unfortunately the PX7S3 is hit or miss. I have a slightly larger head and the pressure on the cups when the headphones were on was really uncomforable. The clamping force was way too high. They are much worse than the PX8 or PX7S2 models. I couldn't wear them for more than a half hour without hurting too much. My wife is a bit smaller. She tried them on and said they were ok. After 2 hours, they still felt fine to her but her ears were getting hot as the pleather cups don't breathe. B&W did make the cups here a bit smaller and thinner than the previous models. Some of this was shrinking the cups themselves and some of it was removing padding on the cup foam. While smaller is nice, it makes them very uncomfortable to wear. Do I recommend the PX7S3's? Sort of. They are very well built and sound absolutely terrific. They are also a beautiful piece of kit that you will get comments on. It you need to take calls or use them in a meeting, these will work great for you. Comfort is hit or miss. If you have a smaller head, they will be fine. People with a larger head may find them uncomfortable. The real downsides are, for the price these are selling for, they are competing in a very competitive arena with great option from other brands. Where the B&W's don't meet expectations are with ANC that is average at best (doesn't crack my top 5 ANC for like headphones), small buttons, comfort, and a fairly useless app.

Go and get these
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have to say that these are the best wireless headphones I've heard to date. I previously had the Px8 and those don't even compare to this. The Px7S3 has a slimmer profile and better bass. It also comes with a 5 band EQ vs. the 2 you get on the Px8. Though the material on these are not as premium as the Px8's. These have a great balance with bass & treble. You get really good battery life on these and I don't have to charge them very often. The sound stage mixed with separation you hear with each instrument makes these above anything I've heard so far. Playing around with the EQ's allowed me to dial in my sound. These really brings out the life and more with songs I've heard before, but now you get the nuances that I was not able to hear before. This is a big big recommend for sure. The connectivity has been pretty solid, though you do get the blip once in a while. Which, to be honest, happens to most, if not every, wireless headset. You get a hard cover case that's on the slim side and inside of the case, there is a compartment to store your 3.5mm & USB-C cables. For some reason though, I no longer see these on Bestbuy's website. I'm hoping they are just out of stock and not discontinued.

Amazing headphones that you must hear
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing The Bowers & Wilkins Px7s3 are amazing headphones. For anyone looking at a set of headphones in the price range, I highly recommend putting the B&W Px7s3 at the top of your list. Setup: Setup of headphones is pretty simple. The instructions provide a QR code that will have you install the Bowers & Wilkins Music app. Here is where you can manage the settings of the headphones including Noise canceling / Passthrough and EQ. Unlike previous versions of the headphones you now have a multi-band EQ (however the headphones sound great flat, so I would recommend leaving them as is). I do recommend disabling the Auto standby and just manually turn off the headphones, so you don’t lose BT connection. Sound quality: These headphones have some of the best sound quality of any headphone I have previously heard. This includes other ones from Bowers & Wilkins, and competitor’s headphones at a similar price range. Music from these headphones is very lively and just captivates you. Build quality: The build quality on the Bowers & Wilkins headphones is great. After being disappointed in the build quality of another brand’s headphones that are in a similar price range, the B&W headphones are a breath of fresh air. All the parts feel like they are high quality. The headphones have physical buttons for power / pairing, volume, playback, play control, and multi-function. Having a physical button that provides tactile feedback is a huge improvement over headphones that only have touch gesture controls. The headphones come with a sturdy case that has a compartment to store the included USB-C charging cable and USB-C to minijack cord. Call quality: I have used the headphones for a few Google meeting calls and the sound quality was great. People’s voices were extremely clear. As an owner of the previous Px7s2 version of the headphones, I was really surprised how much of an improvement there is between the two headphones. Music sounds fuller and noise cancelling has noticeably improved.

The best of the best!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are by far the best wireless headphones I have ever heard. I love the Sonys XM6’s, but the sound on these it’s like no other. Sony does have it by an edge on Transparency mode, but barely. Plus the design and look of these blow everything else away! How did they fit? Amazing and I have a big head! The app is extremely good. One of the best purchases I’ve made this year!

Excellent , Prefer these to the SONYs
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I first bought the Sony M6 headphones and they were good, but the plastic build made the quality seem a little cheap. Sound was good though, I ultimately returned those in favor of the Bower Wilkins. The Bowers have great sound, great build quality and are more comfortable on my head than the Sonys.

Standout ANC headphones
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In a sea of seemingly non-descript smooth cupped headphones, the Px7 S3 are a clear standout. From the bold deep Indigo color, mix of materials, textures, and features these headphones are for the people who are seeking something refined, premium and performant. The Px7 S3s are a continued evolution of what I’ve come to expect from B&W headphones. Starting with the hardshell case it has a nice cloth covering which feels durable and resistant to staining and attracting dust and hair. It’s a little large mainly since the headphone cups don’t fold in. This, however, does leave space for a compartment with a magnetic door that holds your USB charging and usb-to-3.5mm cables. It doesn’t come with one, but one could theoretically fit a skinny USB power adapter in there as well. The inside of the case is cloaked in a smooth felt and is molded to cradle the headphones perfectly. There is also a nice thick padded backing on the lid of the case which helps secure and protect the headphone cups. The case is very thoughtfully designed and feels very high-end in my opinion. Moving on to the headphones Bowers & Wilkins is showcasing their materials engineering know-how. The headband is topped with the same material choice as the case with a leatherette padding on the underside. They had good clamping force to hold the headphones in place, but not too tight. The length of the headband is widely adjustable with 1.5” of play on each side so it should accommodate most head sizes. The adjustable metal headband transitions down into a half yoke reminiscent of past Px series models which gives the illusion of motion within the design. The cups feature a combination of the plush leatherette padding along with the metal from the headband which has a alternating rectangular pattern around the ear cup reminiscent to dentils that you might see in crown molding – a subtle nod to classical luxury. Overall, I found them amply padded making them comfortable to wear for an extended period of time. In terms of controls, there are no touchpad gimmicks here – just reliable buttons. Initially the location of the buttons frustrated me as they are on the narrower part of the ear cup, but after wearing them for several days I’ve gotten accustomed to the location. Depending on the size of your hands/fingers you may or may not like the placement of these controls, so I would check them out to make sure it’s something you are comfortable with. I would personally prefer it if the buttons were a little wider to make them easier targets. In day to day use the Px7 S3s perform and sound great. I made slight tweaks to the EQ of the phones to be slightly heavier on the bass side since that is what I prefer. The app allows you to keep your headphones updated and tweak your controls. Curiously, the wear sensor which is supposed to pause music when you remove your headphones or lift an earcup does not work at the moment which is annoying but minor in my opinion – hopefully they will fix that in an upcoming software update. The noise cancellation overall works great compared to other competitors and I thought the passthrough mode was a standout personally. Call quality was also great with good background noise cancellation on the microphone so that both sides of the call can have a pleasant experience.
