    Excellent Home Espresso Machine

The Brim Espresso machine is a great home appliance if you want to stop buying expensive $4 coffees at the coffee shop. The machine is very intuitive and easy to use. If you want to make an americano, you will have no issues at all. If you want a latte, you will have to practice frothing your milk but this machine will make it easy. The only thing you have to figure out is how to get espresso grinds fine enough to use, therefore you may have to have an additional investment in a coffee grinder. The reservoir is plenty large and you can make weeks worth of coffee from one filling of water. Overall, for the average home user, this is an excellent machine at a great price point.

The first thing I noticed when taking this machine out of the box was the build quality. The parts are sturdy and have a good amount of weight to them. Looks and feel like a commercial grade espresso maker. After getting every thing out of the box and washed. It was time to try and make my first espresso. The manual has good step by step instruction for this process and after making one or two you shouldn't need the manual any more. The steam wand is an art form and takes a little bit to get use to. It also has a warming pad on top for your cups. I find that it heats up very fast 45 seconds or less when first turned on. I did read one review about it over heating after making 4 cups. So I tried to re-create this problem with not luck. I made 10 double shots back to back with no issues at all.

Promising Features, But Falls Short of Expectation

Introduction: The Brim Espresso Maker presents itself as a viable option for those seeking an entry-level espresso machine. With its claimed 19 bars of pressure and convenient milk frother, this machine seems to have the potential to deliver a satisfactory espresso experience. However, after thorough evaluation, it becomes apparent that the Brim Espresso Maker falls short in several key areas, such as water temperature consistency, hot water dispenser functionality, and overall performance. In this review, we will explore these aspects in detail. Pressure Performance and Water Temperature: The Brim Espresso Maker boasts 19 bars of pressure, which should ideally result in robust espresso extraction. Unfortunately, even with this high pressure, the machine fails to consistently deliver impressive results. One major drawback is the inability to achieve piping hot water for brewing espresso. Despite running two cycles of water before brewing, the temperature falls short of the desired level. This compromises the overall flavor profile of the espresso, as the extraction process heavily relies on optimal water temperature. The inconsistent water temperature greatly impacts the quality of the espresso, leaving much to be desired. Milk Frother: On a more positive note, the Brim Espresso Maker features a good milk frother. This accessory allows you to create creamy and frothy milk for lattes, cappuccinos, and other milk-based drinks. The frother efficiently heats and froths the milk, adding a touch of indulgence to your coffee creations. While the espresso performance may be lacking, the milk frother stands out as one of the machine's redeeming qualities. Hot Water Dispenser: The hot water dispenser on the Brim Espresso Maker is a feature that, unfortunately, does not live up to expectations. It takes a considerable amount of time to dispense hot water, rendering it inconvenient for those seeking a quick cup of tea or hot water for other purposes. Additionally, the functionality of the hot water dispenser feels somewhat redundant, as it does not serve a significant purpose beyond basic hot water needs. This aspect is a missed opportunity for the machine to offer more versatility and utility to its users. Starter Espresso Maker with Room for Improvement: The Brim Espresso Maker could be considered a decent option for beginners dipping their toes into the world of espresso-making. It provides an accessible entry point into the process and offers some basic features that allow users to experiment and develop their skills. However, considering the shortcomings in water temperature consistency and hot water dispenser functionality, it becomes evident that the machine has its limitations. For users seeking a more refined and consistent espresso experience, other options on the market may be better suited to their needs. Conclusion: In conclusion, the Brim Espresso Maker presents itself as a promising entry-level machine with its claimed 19 bars of pressure and convenient milk frother. However, it falls short in several key areas that significantly impact the overall performance. The inconsistent water temperature, despite the high pressure, compromises the quality of the espresso. The hot water dispenser proves to be slow and lacking in utility. While the machine may serve as a decent starting point for beginners, those expecting a more refined and consistent espresso experience will likely be disappointed. With room for improvement, the Brim Espresso Maker leaves much to be desired when compared to other options on the market.

I upgraded from a DeLonghi, and I will never turn back. This thing is amazing. Set up takes a couple minutes but once you have it up it is as easy as pushing a button. Quality wise this is impressive. A lot heavier than i thought it would be. The accessories it comes with are great. I especially like the press piece it has to level your grounds into the cup. One issue I have that has nothing to do with the coffee but the little filters. I found that the pre-ground filters are easier to remove from the handle then the fresh ground filters are. In fact the fresh ground filters are near impossible to remove, I wish that they would include some kind of way to get that off easier. Other than that everything else about it is great. The look is great it's very high quality and it makes for some great coffee. Hot water on one side has proven to be very good for tea, and that steam comes out on the other side very very quickly. I also own the brim grinder and I think it's fantastic combination to complete my beverage center. Brim has been providing me some very good mornings, with some very good coffee. Worth every penny.

Good product overall but i think it would have been better to buy the machine with a built in grinder. Makes good espresso and is pretty easy to use. The only thing is it was having issues at first and was leaking water out of one of the tubes inside because a part broke. I was able to fix it but if i hadnt been handy it may have needed to be returned and exchanged.

1rst espresso machine so can't compare. But it's WAYY better than regular coffee. Got it on sale for $200 & couldn't be happier about that decision. gave away my old coffee machine after a week using this, simply can't compare. Big plus is not using disposable k-cups anymore as well.

The Brim Espresso Maker is a pretty attractive and pretty good specialty coffee maker. We have a variety of machines in our small office- from a standard drip, to two types of pods and now the Brim. This a traditional espresso maker with a good pump and cup warmer. The essentials. It also means it’s something of a hassle to make an espresso or cappuccino. We’ll just say my assistant was not happy with me adding this to our stock because it takes so many steps. That said, if you like the ritual, it’s operation is standard, the water tank is large enough for several days and the resultant product is worth it. The coffee is delicious.

This machine really surprised me in terms of build quality. I upgraded from an older, entry level DeLonghi espresso machine. This basically blows that little guy's socks off in terms of build quality, consistency, evenness of heating, and features. I love having the big tank, which I find myself using for making tea with the hot water wand more often than I thought I would. Everything just feels STURDY. The warming rack on top of the machine, the hot water wand, the steam wand, and the tamper all feel SOLID. Coffee comes out well, but the non-pressurized baskets don't give me as nice of a crema as I was used to with my little old DeLonghi. The gauge on the front of this machine also doesn't seem to land in the appropriate spot. This is all with my grinder on the finest of settings. Maybe I'll give it a shot with my little hand grinder and see if I can get a better result out of these baskets? Overall, I don't think I would have liked to pay full price ($400). However, at ~$270 as a BB Deal of the Day, I'd say it was worth it! I can't speak to the long term reliability of this machine, but I hope it lasts a good many years!

I was very skeptical about this machine, but I really needed one and didn't want to spend a lot of money on it (our Breville Bambino Plus lasted only 6 months), since I usually make pour-overs with my chemex, but my wife loves espresso. I love the design and the set of portafilter baskets that comes with the machine. It's a little bit noisy, but it makes really good foamy espresso. Now, I use this machine at least 2 times per day and don't remember when I had chemex last time :D I really hope it will last at least other 6 months, but it doesn't really matter since I got that BestBuy protection plan and I can replace it at any time.

I have used other coffee machines that have a lot of problems and sometimes things are very expensive to use, but nothing like this easy to use and especially enjoy a rich aroma of coffee I have only had one problem with this coffee machine that is not suitable for making hot drinks the water does not come out but thanks to Pinchme for letting me try this product before buying it.

I have been making cappuccino for over 30 years. I finally decided to go for a mid range unit. This unit is beautiful. Problems: leaks water from the bottom almost with every use. Although we followed every instruction it never filled to the proper level. I really wanted to love it. They need to correct the issues and have more presence on the web. Need clearer instructions
