Customer Ratings & Reviews

Been using this for a few months, mainly for cinematography, car content and rolling shots, and it’s been great for the price. 4K video quality holds up way better than I expected for an entry level camera, autofocus is solid, and it’s light enough to shoot with all day. Battery life is decent but bring a backup for longer shoots, and low light isn’t its strongest suit. Kit lens is fine to start but you’ll want to upgrade eventually. Overall a really solid entry point if you’re getting into video without dropping a ton of cash, and Canon’s color still holds up at this price.

I’ve been using the Canon EOS R100, and honestly, it’s one of those cameras that just feels easy right away. If you’re coming from a phone or you’re new to cameras, this is a really comfortable place to start. The biggest thing I noticed is how user-friendly it is. You don’t have to dig through a million confusing settings to get a good photo. You can pretty much turn it on, point, shoot—and it actually looks good. The autofocus does a great job locking onto faces (especially helpful with kids), so you’re not constantly stressing about whether your shot is in focus. It’s also super lightweight, which makes a big difference if you’re carrying it around for a while or using it for casual shoots. It doesn’t feel intimidating or overly “technical,” which I think is perfect if you’re still learning. Photo quality is where it really stands out compared to a phone. You get that soft, blurry background and more detail without having to try too hard. It just gives your photos that clean, professional look with minimal effort. That said, you can tell it’s a more basic camera. The screen doesn’t flip or have touch, which can feel a little outdated, and video isn’t its strong point. But if your main goal is taking nice photos without overcomplicating things, it honestly does the job really well.

I’m really happy with this camera! The picture quality is sharp and clear, and the colors look beautiful. It’s lightweight, easy to carry, and simple to use even if you’re still learning photography. I also love the 4K video option and how quickly the autofocus works. The included lens is great for everyday photos, family moments, and travel. Overall, it’s a great camera for the price and I would definitely recommend it!

This camera exceeded my expectations. The image quality is sharp and vibrant, even in low-light settings. It’s easy to use, with simple controls that make it great for beginners, while still offering advanced features for more experienced users. The autofocus is fast and accurate, and the video quality is smooth and clear. The battery life is reliable, and the camera feels sturdy and well-built.

Wonderful camera. Easy to use. Great photos. Service at Best Buy was superb!

Amazing beginner camera, this is the camera I started photography on and I have no complaints. If you’re looking for a compact, lightweight camera that provides professional quality pictures this is for you! If you’re looking for a more “professional looking” camera you may want to look at others. Super easy to use and learn how to work all the features. The kit lens is not the best but it’s definitely not the worst.

Small, lightweight, easy to carry, easy to use, excellent quality, affordable price

I’m really impressed with this Canon camera! The image quality is outstanding, with vibrant colors and sharp details. It’s easy to use, even for beginners, and the autofocus is fast and accurate. The battery life is also great, making it perfect for long shooting sessions. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a reliable and high-performing camera.

One of the best cameras to pick for a start up fits almost all the best lenses canon has.. have purchased supporting lenses and it works perfect.. the body weight is real light so that u can handle it without any hassle.. excellent choice I made of purchasing this camera

As someone getting deeper into photography, the Canon EOS R100 was the perfect place to start – and honestly, it blew past my expectations. The image quality is outstanding, with vibrant colors and great detail, even in lower light conditions. Pair it with a decent RF lens and you’re getting pro-level shots on a budget. The autofocus is fast and reliable, especially for portraits and moving subjects. It’s lightweight, intuitive to use, and connects easily to my phone for quick sharing – a big plus for someone always on the go. Canon really packed a punch in a compact, affordable mirrorless body. If you’re thinking of stepping up from your phone or an older DSLR, this is the one to grab. Also, if this review makes the cut for that $400 BestBuy gift card… well, I guess Canon isn’t the only one with perfect focus today. Thanks, BestBuy!

This camera is absolutely amazing! I was searching for a beginner camera that was easy to navigate while still producing the high quality that I was looking for. I've had this camera for about a month now and have taken so many beautiful photos of nature, friends, and family and have absolutely loved every photo.

I love everything about this camera and would buy it again for my first camera the picture quality is amazing and it is light and can fit in a bag easily to take it anywhere

3 months ago as of writing this review, I wanted to start honing in on doing photography. I had a small budget and didn't want to overexpense myself. In the end, I decided to try out this camera and the 18-45mm lens that came with the bundle. All this time later, it has become a very valuable camera for what I do and I will continue to use it for a long time. Below I will give my two cents on reasons why and why not to purchase it. Warning, lots of reading! Lightweight: Since the R100 is a Mirrorless camera, it is a much lighter weight than most DSLRs. Why is this good? You still capture great quality photos and have a lighter bag with you! Yes, some will argue that mirrorless will take less quality shots than DSLR but in reality, since the mirrorless has no internal moving mechanisms, such as a mirror, not only will your shots be quieter, but there is no chance of camera shake by the device itself, only your hands. ;) Still, there are reasons for DSLRs, such as battery life. In the end, if you like to be on the move with your camera, I recommend this type. Crop-Sensor: The R100 is an APS-C style camera, which means that the image will be zoomed in because of the camera's sensor. Isn't that bad? Well, not exactly. For closer subjects, maybe, unless you physically move away. However, for farther away subjects, like animals, you will fall in love with the 1.6x crop factor. Lenses on this camera will effectively be zoomed drastically the longer the focal length. This means your 18-45mm lens is the equivalent of a 24-80mm on a full-frame camera, which is the standard measurement for camera sensors. The 55-210mm turns into an 88-336mm equivalent. And that 100-400? 160 to a drastic 640mm! That's enough to take photos of the moon! Unfortunately, I have not used any of the video features or flash on this camera. I don't have any interest in using them myself. I cannot comment on what I don't know about. :( The specs on this camera are very useful for the average photographer, especially beginners. The menus and buttons are fairly easy to navigate, and only get more and more simple as you use them more. The autofocus modes are accurate for what I want them to do. Would be nice to have less than 100 ISO in some cases, but remember, this is, essentially, an entry-level camera! So, in the end, it all depends on what you want to photograph, my words will hopefully help you decide on this camera. I will include a few images that I have captured on this camera with the 18-45mm lens. (Alert! I like monochrome, but I will include a colored image.) Thank you for reading and hopefully, you start clicking soon!

For the price, ease of access and quality of life for the camera compares to the highest end of cameras... i took pictures of my cat and they came out phenomenally incredible..attached picture is 1/100th of the original size

Amazing product i originally started off with a Canon Powershot as my beginner camera for about 4 years, but overtime i decided it was time to upgrade to a new camera. This is a great camera for beginner to intermediate level photographers. The settings are straightforward and easy to use. I also love the Bluetooth settings that it has, allowing me to connect the camera directly to my iPhone making my editing process a lot faster.

Excellent camera for novice photographers - intuitive, great picture quality, light, feature rich. Camera takes great pictures and video. Only negative feedback involves the strap for the camera which isn't great. Seamless switching from screen to view finder is very cool.

Easy of use and overall performance I really love this camera

It has been easy to navigate and a great way to capture amazing moments! It has reach my expectations. I cannot wait to add more lens and camera accessories to my canon collection. :)

Loving My Canon R100! This camera has exceeded my expectations! The photos are sharp, the colors look amazing, and the compact size makes it perfect to carry everywhere. It’s helping me improve my photography every day. Highly recommend

I really enjoy this camera as it is a good starter camera for those who are just getting into photography. Along with that it does the job that it needs to do and for the price point it’s worth it. It is significantly better than other cameras on the market, especially it being mirrorless. It does everything you need it to do.
