I love my new printer, is modern, elegant and compare with all my other laser printer it doesn't consume as the others, and if you buy the HC cartridge you will print tons of more copies than the competitors... Plus is super fast printing, auto double side printing, has the color LCD that allow you to use it as a smartphone... Then other features that is didn't notice before purchase, but I really needed and I think is INDISPENSABLE, is the opening in the front that allows you to print any other different format or paper type, that one you have on the regular container, so basically if you need to print a envelope but in the container you have the LTR format, you can insert the envelope on the front open, and it will print it without having you remove all the LTR papers from the container... Love it, you can find also compatible cartridges with high capacity at the same price of other brands toner that print only half of the copies you can print with this Canon....

Let me start off by saying it's Big, DOES NOT print colored pictures that you'd want to put in a frame, and has some minor connectivity issues for being wireless. Also, getting some first time set up things in place like scanning and emailing to yourself, etc, had me looking up online youtube tutorials from other users. It's a laser printer, so it's mostly good for heavy use and printing/scanning a lot of general documents. Color looks good on the documents printed, but it's not the vibrant color and ink printer would give you. If you aren't worried about printing pictures/photos for frames, and space doesn't matter much to you, then this is a good printer.

Love the way it prints. The pages looks like I printed from an office printer at school or work. Only downside is that it can be really noisy. It makes a lot of noise before the first page comes out (as expected) but then it continues to make more noise after printing for another 5-10 seconds trying to recalibrate itself. I don’t regret buying it because of how nice it prints. IT ALSO DOESNT HAVE AN INSTANT INK SUBSCRIPTION LIKE HP DOES.

I just got this printer at the time of this review, but so far, the first print does take a few seconds to print. More than 20seconds I will say. My B&W canon printer MF 230 series prints in just about 10 seconds from the time I click print...but once this printer prints, pages print quick. I will rate it again after a few months once I use it more. The color that it outputs is nice but this printer is not for photographs. Some photos here and there as part of a presentation sheet are nice prints, but don’t expect photography quality print. If that’s what you want then canon pixma pro will be the ideal printer. It is bulky and comes in a big box. Can be hook up wireless or wired Ethernet cable. I feel that wireless it takes more time to receive the data. The menu is easy to read and fairly straight forward.

I am very impressed with this printer, it is fast enough, simple enough, and small enough to do the job. I use it for printing work related stuff, my wife uses it for printing work related stuff, the kids use it for printing school related stuff. Scanning is a simple task, I love that you can scan to a usb. Set up was easy, make sure to follow all the steps in order. Great printing quality

Pros: Fast, great quality, fully featured, and very easy to setup. Time to first page duration is unbelievably short. Sleeps when not in use. Cons: web interface doesn't seem to have every bell and whistle available in it (for instance, setting a static IP for the printers versus using DHCP.). Takes up a LOT of desk space.

I love this printer. It was easy to set up. I called Canon because my laptop doesn't have a CD slot to load the drivers and they worked with me over the phone. The Canon rep was super helpful and the set up went smoothly. Everything works great. It seems totally reliable and so much better than the old HP Inkject I had.

Set-up is fairly easy. Prints well ... a bit noisy but not irritating. The instruction manual provided is lacking in details, and the online version seemed difficult to use, although that could be due to the operator (me).

This printer is excellent for what I need. I am a small business owner and needed a reliable printer. Works well so far. It makes printing from my mobile device easy. The only thing I wish is that I could print remotely to the printer. If there is a way, I haven't figure it out yet. Otherwise, I recommend it.

Canon - imageCLASS MF642Cdw Wireless Color All-In-One Laser Printer purchased mid-February 2023. More than needed but was in stock. Works well & was easy to hook up. User friendly. Nice larger control panel to use when selecting to print scan copy fax.

Sets up somewhat easy but you may pull out a few hairs. Works excellent once you get it set up. I print with great paper from hammermill so I get great results. Does go,fully to sleep and needs affection to wake up so you will have to walk to the printer to wake it up. I would buy again at this price.

I was a bit reluctant to spend double the money on a color laser instead of getting a much more mainstream and less expensive inkjet printer - but I got fed up, pulled the trigger, and have not looked back. This things prints so much faster than the inkjet it replaced. Setting it up was super-easy, and my computer picked it up right away. 5 minutes from the box to the first printout. I have not tried all the features out yet, but printed page comes out dry and ready to go. No smudging like you get with inkjets. I have heard that laser printers don't print pictures as well, but that is not something that I care about. You can save a few bucks going with an inkjet, but for me, the fact that this thing works every time I want to use it is worth the extra $$$. I don't have time or the patience to mess around with cleaning out printer heads and trying to keep ink from drying out.

First time ever writing a review for anything. This printer is a piece of garbage. Installed all software and drivers on computers, phones, and tablets. The thing only connects after restarting the printer - sometimes. Tried scanning something to my pc for the first time tonight. Of course, that does not work either. Of course it’s “no longer returnable.” Thanks for selling me trash, Best Buy.

I love everything about this printer. With our current situation, working from home and home schooling, the ink jet just wasn’t cutting it and it was costing me an arm and a leg. Easy setup! Incredible prints, both in Color and black and white. It’s fast too. I’ve had it for a month and I have been using it quite a bit. I show 80% toner on the black and 90% on the colors. WiFi works great. Printing from my iPhone or IPad is a breeze. I do recommend the premium laser paper

Initial impressions are good. I got this printer to replace a 10 year old HP that, while still performing well, didn’t offer wireless. And I got the print/scan/copy unit because I needed to clear up the workplace a little bit. I got used to the Canon interface when I was between houses for a long time and relied on a Canon TS9020 ink jet...Nice printer/scanner/copier, but a little slow. As might be expected, the regular print quality with this laser printer is good, and the color copy I’ve tried are very nice. My plan is to replace the starter black toner cartridge with a high capacity cartridges, and use the regular cartridges for the three colors. As for setting up, that started out with a little uncertainty… First; Canon’s call center support for this printer appears to be 10:00 am to 6:30 pm Eastern Time, Monday – Friday. The web site states 8:00 am – 8:00 pm M-F, but when I called a little after 8:00 am this morning, I was given those shorter hours. What Canon has managed to do is firewall themselves from consumers on Pacific Time, unless they take a day off. However, once I got connected, the support was good and identified the problem (see next)… Second; if you have Webroot, good luck. Apparently there is a known problem with Webroot that prevents the computer from communicating with several brands of printer over WiFi. The Canon tech advised me that there is a very recent Webroot software update, which was a number higher than my Webroot dashboard showed – but that dashboard stated that my software was up do date. Getting hold of a real person at Webroot is pretty much a fool’s errand. They really don’t want to talk to you. The solution was to install a 30-day trial version of Bitdefender (which completely uninstalled Webroot) and that solved the problem. I restarted the installation process from the CD, the printer was seen, and all is good. I will probably extend the subscription for Bitdefender and take a loss on the Webroot subscription. Best Buy came through with their 15 day price match guarantee. I bought the printer on Saturday and when I looked at their site on Monday, the printer was priced $125 less. They credited me the difference. Canon's Customer Service hours cost them one star.

It's a pretty robust machine and when it works , it works really well. The connectivity software, however, is really rough. Prepare to spend a bunch of time frustrated and searching youtube and forums to figure out why you cant scan a document to your email, etc. A lot of the advertised features are a real pain to configure properly. The error messages are useless and Canon support is shockingly bad. However, if you can get things successfully configured, you have a really great printer that produces nice prints and has a ton of functionality.

Have this printer for about 2 months. I like this printer. The setup was pretty easy. Printing over wifi works beautifully. (Unlike my previous printer, which has intermittent connectivity) The print outs are nice and crisp. The only thing that I thought was lacking was cloud printer feature for printing from smart phone and Chrome laptop (especially chrome laptop). It seems to have an option to setup cloud printing with google cloud print, but there is no instructions on how to accomplish it. Canon website link to the documentation doesn't load. Other than this deficiency I think this is a great printer.

Super easy setup. Come is crisp and clean when printing in color and prints at a fast speed. Our cartridges have lasted a long time considering the amount we print. Only pet peeves is that it makes a clocking most when it grabs the paper. Other than that, great printer for the price!

This printer does a good job of doing what you need it to do. It prints fine, but it's kind of slow compare to previous printers I've used. It also doesn't have a nice and friendly user software to use with it. There is some kind of software for it, but it's not the best and a bit confusing at first. Overall, it's not a bad printer. The starter toner it comes with last for a while. Bought it March 4 and about a month after it still has 60% on all toners and I have printed quite a bit. I'm sure it will last longer with high capacity toners.
