I love the idea of this camera!  It is small, attaches nicely to a backpack or purse.  Fits easily in a pocket.  However, I found it difficult to use.  I am in my 50s....I am sort-of tech savvy, but really have a hard time turning the dials to select what I want to do on the camera (my son..did not have this problem)  Additionally, the directions provided were terrible.  I found myself looking up youtube videos to figure it out!  The picture clarity is really wonderful if it is sunny and bright outside...otherwise...it is okay...but, my phone does a MUCH better job.  Again...love the idea, I don't need to get my phone out to take pictures, but, the picture performance is not good without lots of natural light.  I am writing this review, in exchange for receiving the product for free.

This is great toy camera for outside especially for Pool or beach. I broke my smart phone due to drop it in the pool last summer, even though I used the water proof case. For this Camera I will not need to hesitate to enjoy photo shooting in the water park. Also this design is good to carry. you just need to put this on to your bag or belt. You may not be satisfied if you expect full spec of the Camera, There is no display. If you want to check the photo, you need to connect to your smart phone.

In no scenario does this camera take a single clear photo without SIGNIFICANT grain and slight blur. The shake in videos is jarring. This camera is comparable to something that would have been released in the very early 2000's. I purchased this for the carefree simplicity for on the go fun however it's literally unusable if you have any desire to enjoy your memories. I'd recommend purchasing the HTC re from 2014 even though it's five years old and most likely difficult to find. Do some research and you'll see that the re far surpasses the IVY REC which is mind-blowingly shocking as it's 2019 and we're talking about a camera from Canon. Do your research, this is a 100% unbiased review (I've never previously reviewed a product) but I've been so burned by this I just had to air my disbelief. I guarantee this will be pulled from shelves or never to be seen again after these initial units are severely discounted and sold.

This will not fully replace your phone camera or dedicated camera, both of which can take higher resolution pictures. This is, however far more durable than either of them. Encased in rubber, it doesn't need any kind of babying. Shove it in a jeans pocket, toss it into a beach bag. It's the camera equivalent of one of those tough rubber sports watches. The remote operation is pretty nice, you can control it and view the scene on your phone from several feet away (this feature is valuable to me), and you can use it as kind of an inspection camera where you can't actually put your eye. The software takes a bit of figuring out, expect to play with it for a while, but once you get the hang of it, it does work

Easy to use. Easy to put in the micro sd card. Easy to use the phone app. People complained about bad pics. This is because it’s an outdoor camera and needs natural lighting for good pics. Overall good camera for the price.

The camera is very portable a easy to carry. It’s also very easy to setup and transfer pictures to a smartphone with the free cannon app. The pictures need plenty of light as there is no flash so outside photos are best. It was very affordable being purchased with a Black Friday deal.

Camera seemed awesome because of size and portability. But the pictures taken with it are not great quality. Hard to use due to fixed focus.

Bad idea for a "field" full of products that are much better. The app hardly connects to the device, forcing you to use it as a point and shoot. It only records for ten minutes and then stops. Other devices are in loop record, even if they record ten minute videos in one shot. I only bought this because I'm adding "angles" of views on my motorcycle, which this got it done. I do not recommend. Pros: the device is easy to use. Rugged design helps assure that it's for adventures. Belt clip, at first thought useless, is actually useful. Cons: App is useless, pricey for mediocre quality, only records for ten minutes then stops, picture quality is below average standard (my $150 phone takes better pics)

I'm going to second what others are saying. The camera in this is terrible. So much digital noise. The white balance is also way off. My pictures have been almost orange at times. I'll probably return this item. Such a waste of money.

Designed for daytime outdoor use and really bright interiors. Useful for on-the-go activities and will take video. Kid friendly and easy to frame viewfinder. Handy for on-the-spot documentation.

This is a decent camcorder, for it's price, and to upload it online is pretty easy too! No screen to see what you're recording though, just a square hole to look through like a sight.

Not having an actual view finder and a way to review the pictures takes a little getting used to but it was a good value and very useful for my water filled vacation

I bought this little camera because it is made by Canon. I'm ashamed my self for spending that kind of money for such a low quality gadget. I did a few test shots on an afternoon that should have been perfect light. There was so much noise in the image that it was unusable. I did run the image through Topaz Denoise. It just had too much noise to make a usable image. I've not used it since. I would give it to a kid but they would have to be pretty techie to use it. Just use your smart phone camera.

My 10yr old waterproof kodak playsport 1080p action camera is better than this. Canon, you're fired. Bestbuy please discontinue selling this crappy little camera. It's about as innovative as an aluminum garbage lid

I had a credit that was about to expire and with the sale I got this camera for a great price. However, I thought I ordered the memory card for it but didn't so unfortunately I haven't used the camera yet.

Bought this for upcoming vacation to give to my child. It's perfect for someone eager to just point and click. Slow loading times between camera and phone app Photo quality diminishes in low light settings. Otherwise, perfect choice for children

This camera is great! I love how small and portable it is. It can be a bit difficult to know if you are getting the shot because of the camera having no viewfinder. But overall I love how durable and portable this is!

I love it so far. Item is much bigger than I expected but still smaller than my phone or DSLR. Plan on using it on backpacking trips and hopefully on or next cruises when we can sail again.
