Got this lens today and immediately noticed the lightweight form factor. It is the lightest and smallest lens I have owned and makes my R6 feel like a point and shoot.
It is super quiet, and the control switch on the lens is really easy to use.
The pictures I got were incredible for the price point and the size of the lens. It doesn't compare to my EF 24-70 in any means, but I love the lightweight factor!
I would recommend to anyone looking for something compact or if you are looking for a good starter lens for your R series camera.

I originally purchased this lens to be used on a Canon EOS R in order to reduce weight when hiking. I have yet to use it for that purpose but was able to produce a fantastic Christmas card photo for my neighbors who were seated in their Irish Pub / den. The field of view was perfect and the image quality spectacular.

I have multiple lenses for my R8, but this one rarely leaves my camera. It is a fantastic travel lens and produces high quality photos. Don’t hesitate. Just get it.

This lens is great. It’s most likely going to be the lens that I use the most because it’s lightweight, small and makes capturing the world around you look amazing with the extra wide shots. Definitely worth the money. This product will not disappoint you.

Takes excellent photos especially for close up shots, where it captures a surprising amount of details. Also performs very well for mid range pictures (objects roughly no more than 20 ft away). At long distances, the focus could be better. There is no fishbowling effect that is discernible.

The Canon RF 28mm f2.8 STM is a super handy little lens. It’s really small and lightweight, so it’s easy to carry around all day. The wide angle is great for everyday shots—landscapes, street photos, even group pictures. The f2.8 aperture gives nice background blur, though it’s not as strong as bigger lenses. Autofocus is quick and quiet, which is perfect for both photos and video. The only downside is it doesn’t zoom, so you’ll need to move around more, and it’s not the sharpest in low light. Still, for the price and size, it’s an awesome starter lens that’s fun to use.

This lens has been a great surprise so far. Its optics outperform its price which is all you can hope for in a lens at this price point. The convenience factor of its size also can't be understated. If you're considering this lens, grab it. You won't be disappointed.

I’ve been really have enjoying using this lens. With how small it is it I’ve been using my camera more. Focal length makes it perfect for street style photography. I can now comfortable carry my R6 around.

This lens is great, I use it all the time for both film and photography and I love how small and portable it is, it fits in my pocket. I do wish it was a little bit brighter, though.
