I purchased this model to replace another 10-cup Capresso that died after five years of everyday use. I like the sleek design and easy to program features. I like the 3-5 cup buttom, too. So lucky to have found this and on sale at 50% off.

Good For The Price

Just purchased the MT 900. I read some online reviews before purchasing. I agree with some of what I read, both good and bad. The machine has a "3-5 cup" setting for smaller batches and many reviews stated that this small batch setting brews at cooler temps. I agree. I brewed 4 cups at the "3-5" setting and was disappointed in the temperature. The flavor was great! I like strong coffee and it was good and strong. Then I tried another batch of 4 cups using just the brew button and the coffee was significantly hotter with the same great flavor. This machine replaces one with an insulated carafe vs. a heated base with a glass carafe. One of my biggest complaints with the insulated carafe was that the coffee was never really hot. With the MT 900 I used less coffee in the brew basket than with my old machine. I used the scoop that came with the machine and used just one flat scoop per "cup" as measured on the water reservoir. With my old machine I would have used 5 to 5.5 scoops to get that strong, bold flavor. I love that the water reservoir is removable for easy cleaning and filling and the measurements are pretty close to the cup measurements on the carafe so no guess work there. I still wish the coffee were a tad bit hotter but for the price - $99 with a 20% off coupon so $80 - it's a good deal. I have never really seen a reasonably priced coffee maker that made super hot coffee. Maybe the more expensive ones do but I am not willing to spend $200 on a drip coffee maker! Just me!

Not worth $100

I paid $40 for this coffee maker and feel like I should have saved my money. Easily leaks water if you're not careful. Stopped working after a year. No thermal carafe. I own a different Capresso and it's a workhorse. Avoid this one.
