I bought this for my 97 year-old mother in law and she loves it! She uses the voice controls primarily, but the remote is easy to use.

The Google Chrome cast with TV delivers in every way. The setup is a breeze, the user interface is straightforward. If you have a Google ecosystem in your home and use android phones the chromecast pulls it all together.
Download your favorite android apps to your TV, listen your music playlist from your preferred music service.

Very easy to setup and get started on a Samsung TV. Using the small remote is easy to accomplish all aspects of App management and operational control for primarily YouTube TV app and HBO Max. The circular wheel to control fast-forward, rewind, stop and start are quite easy to operate. However, the volume controls on the side-edge of remove are difficult to operate because the volume up and down buttons are so small.

I've used the fire stick, Roku & the original chromecast device, but this one is the best overall in every way.
The UI is excellent, remote easy to use (even though it's a little slippery) and I can use the remote to control other google home connected devices.
I have it connected to my smart tv and it's like having a whole new TV.

Very please with this purche. I Bought this unit for a second TV in the house that isnt a smart TV. The first generation Chromecast was good and still serves us well in bonus room. This next generation chromcast is way better with it own GUI to navigate various apps without casting, but you cqn cast if that is what you prefer. I prefer using GUI over casting because i get a better experience than casting. My Sony TV remote works it with makes it a seeess experience.

I've been a big fan of Chromecast since launch, my home is full of different generations of Chromecasts and Chromecast Audios. I love to fling content from my phone to my TV or speakers, and screen-mirroring from my phone or laptop is top-notch. But without a remote and and 10-foot interface, that's all they were good for, until now.
With the Chromecast with Google TV, it can be promoted from secondary to primary streaming device. The new Android TV OS is slick and pretty, making Roku feel dated. The device is so new that there are still some glitches to be ironed out, but the app selection is great.
I'm not throwing out my Roku Streaming Stick+ yet, though. A lot of apps work a bit better, or different, between the Roku and Android platforms. Some apps let me watch live TV on the Roku version of the app, but not the Android TV (I think CBS was the example?)
The remote is cute, but it's small and light, doesn't really feel substantial. Roku wins in this department, hands down. And while it's not expensive, the Roku Streaming Stick+ can regularly be found for $10-$20 when it's on sale, something I've never seen for this device.

We were using Roku for a few years and I was getting aggravated at how slow they were. I bought 2 of these Google TVs and we love them. I really like the interface and the speed is great. As far as I am concerned it is much better than any of the other streaming devices I have tried. Plus its cheaper. I would definitely recommend.

Excelent product. Comparable to Xiami Mi Box in capabilities but smaller, cheaper and with a better remote control. It's great that the remote control has IR capabilities to turn on the tv and change it's input. The only con is that it need to be plugged to the wall as it can't work with the watts provided by the tv USB ports.

I have two older Chromecast models. They are very dependable streaming "work horses". I've had this new Chromecast with Google TV for a few weeks. I really like the remote control and Google TV UI. The device is very quick to respond to the remote. Overall, a very good improvement to the Chromecast family. I highly recommend it.

New Google TV is nice and easy to use. Enhances all the features from the Android TV interface. Powerful for such a small device. It won't beat an Nvidia Shield, but it plays and streams media as well as any box for 1/3 the cost. Nice support for Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision. Easy to use and has the wife acceptance factor.

We bought a 65” Samsung smart TV last year and while the picture is nice, the apps and interface are terrible at best. This new 4K Chromcast finally allows us to enjoy our tv. Easy to use and navigate, works with google assistants, and so far, no crashes like the built in tv interface and apps.

I own 4 of these. Turns any dumb TV to a smart TV and makes any smart tv smarter. I love the google interface. I love the included remote also. I bought this for an old samsung F8500 plasma that had an old outdated smart tv interface.

With different colors, you won’t mix up your remotes, should you have multiple remotes. Sync your tv and sound system to remote. Remote also works with Bluetooth, so you never have to worry about pointing it directly to the tv. Simple design.
Plenty of apps you can download. Apps like Hulu, AppleTV, YouTube TV, Netflix, ESPN, Disney+. You can also rent movies thru GooglePlay.
One complaint is the remote gets out of wack. Sometimes looses connectivity and will have to power cycle the device. Buttons will stop restonding. You will have to reset the system once a month or two.

Great for what it is. After using both Google TV and Apple tv, I think apple tv is definitely better and runs smoother, but it's also way more expensive. If you want a cheap steamin device I would say this is the best option or there. Better than roku or Amazon for sure.

I've used almost all the Chromecasts. This is by far the best one yet. Easy to use and set-up. It's all I use to watch TV with. You won't need anything else. The remote works great and you can still use your phone, tablet or computer. I plan on buying another one to replace my old version in the bedroom.

Great streaming device overall!!! Performs much smoother than most in its class and supports 4K and modern audio standards. What's more is that it has THE ASSISTANT!!! Finally, a step closer towards a smart home.
However..... There is no built-in volume leveling option. Roku and Fire TV have it and I'm surprised that the engineers and developers at Google overlooked this crucial feature. I have a soundbar system connected to the TV via ARC. Makes it really annoying to watch stuff with inconsistent volume levels, especially at night. This could be easily fixed with a software update. But I hope google does it quick.
I'm currently using a Roku stick+. But I'm not going to return the chromecast. The assistant is the feature which made it worth keeping.
