I researched a lot and tried quite a few laptops before choosing this model. My previous laptops included a macbook pro 13 inch touchbar, macbook pro 15 inch touchbar, alienware 17 inch laptop, and an Hp spectre x360. The reason I decided to go with this laptop is for the value. The build quality is similar to the Alienware I had but it cost 1/3 the price. I use my laptop for photo and video editing, not gaming. With this in mind you might benefit from a higher end processor and graphics chip if you game a lot. If your just looking to edit your photo and video workflow then this will do just fine. One thing lacking is an SSD and 16GB of Ram. I installed another 8GB ram stick in the open ram slot and now have 16gb of ram. I also installed a 512gb Samsung SSD in the open SSD slot. Total was less than $225 for those upgrades combined so it was worth it. I now use the SSD to boot from and to run my programs. The 1TB spinning drive is just for storage. The performance with the SSD and additional Ram is amazing and on par with the Alienware I had for my use. You may need something different so keep in mind what your using the computer for. If you can afford just a little bit more then I would go for the I7 processor vs the I5 in this model. The I5 is good for now but the I7 will be more future proof for you. This is especially true if you can get the new 8th gen processors. You may also benefit from a USB C Gen 3.1 port which this laptop does not have. The new G7 model replaces this one and is a better value now. Overall, if you can find this laptop on a good sale then I'd recommend it highly. Just remember that you'll want to install an SSD and 8GB more ram to get the most out of the computer.

Really have enjoyed the gaming laptop, it is fast and heavy duty with a light keyboard touch. The backlit keyboards makes it easier to use.

I was looking for a nice notebook with a good memory and this one has it all definitely recommend for games or pictures projects

This laptop was a great buy and value for my son, as it provided the processor speed and high end graphics card WITHOUT the big price tag. It will last him through the first few college years also.

This laptop has had a good battery life. I have been able to play nearly any game I have tried on it so far without any issues.

Speed, screen resolution and durability has been a non issue. The only negative is that these machines are heavy.

I have no complaints on this computer at all. It does everything I want to do with ease. If you are considering one it does not come with a cd/dvd player built in. Somehow I missed it, no big deal but worth mentioning.

I have nothing but good to say about this computer. It does everything I want to do fast and efficiently. Though it is a gaming computer I really do not play games on it I really bought it because it is built better than a standard computer with a better case and cooing. I do basic computing so I could have bough a lesser computer and been fine but I think this one will last quite a while. I upgraded the RAM to 32 and it just literally fly's. For me this was a great purchase and the price is fair too.

Screen brightness, excellent. Battery life, excellent. Gaming performance, very good. Trackpad, meh.

I really like this computer. I have been using it for about a month and haven’t had any issues. I bought this computer to do mapping work which requires quite a bit of RAM and the 8 gb is more than sufficient.

It's quick it's quick and compact . It has plenty of plenty of storage. The battery last a very long time. I like the color.

Works great and runs fast. Computer loads quickly and games like league of legends and heroes of the storm run well on it.

Bought for my son as a replacement for an old Toshiba. He needed something that worked for the start of college and also wanted something that he could use for gaming. He did tons of research and determined that, in his price range, this was by far and away the best value out there. He was specifically impressed with the cooling setup and the video card for the price. He's had it for over a month now and has had no complaints, other than remarking that the screen itself isn't top-notch.

It's what you would expect from a gaming laptop at this price, it meets your expectations, but doesn't exceed it. If you try to look up benchmarks on Youtube for games that you plan to run on this laptop, it would not be correct for this laptop, as for they had to decrease the size of the graphics card to fit it inside of the laptop. That took a toll on the frames that you could get. Regardless, still a good buy.
