I work in a hotel night shift with a lot of downtime so this laptop has everything i need to help not get bored! With a huge library of steam games this pretty much plays them all! Works great with a secondary monitor so i can play a movie and play a game at the same time with no problem! Pros: CPU Speed is perfect at least for my needs! My old laptop was a dual core so the two extra cores really help! 4 gigs of Dedicated Graphics for gaming at high res where I was surprised some games I was able to set to ultra by default with no problems! Built in bluetooth! I use an xbox one controller that works perfectly with no special setup! Just sync and go! Cons: Only comes with 8 gigs of RAM but can expand to 32 gigs though so not really a con until you upgrade with two 16 gig sticks. With less ram to start with some games can't be played in 1080p but can be played in 720p at least. Just gotta play with your graphic settings. Overall it gets the job done! No problems with games or regular programs and plenty of power to multitask!

This is a great little gaming laptop for the price. If you're a serious gamer, this is probably not going to do it for you; but you can't beat it for a newbie's first gaming computer. Great graphics, clean, clear audio, and easily handles basic games like Minecraft with no lagging or crashing. The backlit keyboard makes nighttime play easier, and actually looks pretty cool. Couldn't be happier with it.

Great low cost gaming laptop for someone that doesn’t play high end games, often

I bought this computer to play WoW and work on my writing. So far I've been too distracted by the wonderful graphics and speed of the computer to do anything but play WoW. Woe is me. The battery dies a little fast for my liking during game play. It gets around 45 minutes to an hour before letting me know I need to charge it. On the off chance I'm doing something non-game related, it lasts about 7-8 hours. This includes, Facebook, reading, Googling random stuff, or watching the occasional Youtube video. Nothing too strenuous. It also heats up super quick (in a lap or on a table with amazing airflow). Like, 15 minutes, here's some lava in your lap heat. The screen is great. I was concerned about it after reading the reviews, but truthfully I prefer it over a lot of the glossy screens you see on computers anymore. This also feels much better on my eyes. Anyway, All-in-all, I recommend the computer, just be prepared to deal with a hot base and a short battery which are honestly pretty average not only with Dell, but also with gaming computers in general.

This laptop does a great job for gaming and work. I bought this laptop at open box price tag around 720 and behold the laptop still brand spanking new. Also just love the look and feels of this laptop. CS GO FPS = 100fps minimum. Battery Life = really good

Great gaming laptop! Finally got what I was looking for and the price I wanted

Its a good laptop for productivity and gaming for the price.

I bought it used open box in excellent condition. I really liked the graphics card and how it worked with Adobe products like muse and premiere. I returned this item as black Friday deals were better than I had paid open box discount, the mouse pad seemed loose and the screen was not very sharp. This might all be related to open box.

Great value for the features and price. Loads Fast

Bought this for my son about a year and half ago. He is an avid Fortnite player and just now beginning to be really good. This computer is holding up good. Rarely lags, good play and he doesn't complain. Fast forward 1 year and had some hard drive issues. Decided to upgrade to full SSD drive which made the game just a little better for him. He is now at the point where the laptop is mobile so he can go to his friends and play but his home PC has been built to play games. 4 stars only because the hard drive that came with it did start to crash after 1 year but pushed us for the upgrade.

This computer was purchased primarily for gaming. It did not disappoint! I read a lot of reviews before purchasing, and this was the best...especially considering the awesome deal I got for Black Friday. It does everything I need it to, and the system does not get bogged down with downloads or anything required for gaming online.

Only problem I had was straight out of the box the processor was constantly in turbo boost. Cooling fans were always on. This was simply a power setting in windows. I switched it from performance to a balanced setting.. now it only turbo when it needs to. Overall, good computer for what you pay. I light game on it mostly and it handles graphics on high settings for stuff like World of Warcraft. With more demanding games like Star Wars Battlefront, I have to go with low settings to get the best performance, but still smooth and very playable. When under graphics load the fans spin up and are very noticeable... not a big deal for me... I expect that with even a light graphics gaming machine, but some may not like it, and may opt for a more expensive gaming laptop with more power and more quiet cooling. I was on a budget. Some Dell bloat ware is included, but it does not seem to cause any performance issues for me. The most negative aspect from this computer is the slower hard drive, it is really noticeable during virus scans and when I use defragmentation tool. Otherwise, it is slower than my desktop, but when I timed it with my desktop loading WOW, Everquest, Everquest 2, Starwars Battlefront, the greatest difference was 35 seconds... usually less. Due to the 8gb hybrid part of the hard drive, my most commonly played games load as fast as my desktop with an SSD. I thought I was going to need to upgrade to an SSD in this laptop, but I no longer see the need. Another negative is the monitor screen is not the best... I knew this going into the purchase from other reviews. An IPS would have been better, but this screen is sufficient for my 1080p gaming needs. I might upgrade the RAM to 16GB in the future to get to the recommended specs for Starwars Battlefront, but for now the 8GB of RAM is sufficient. I would recommend this laptop if you are on a budget and looking for a solid light gamer with plenty of processing power for other computing needs.

I 'needed' a laptop that has a decent display, decent processing power and on which I could still do gaming while travelling. This laptop fit the bill perfectly. It plays most games at 1920 resolution and highest or close to it detail very well. I bought it nearly a year ago and have not been disappointed yet.

Got it a good price and it has done me well so far. Does good with most games so far, Day Z, Fallout 76, and so on. Fan is loud as heck but so it goes.

The laptop was beyond my expectations, the price was reasonably affordable after the discount, the laptop was performing very well, and I can get works done in less time than my other laptop.

I use my laptop for business (MS Office, financial modeling in Excel, etc) and basic media/web purposes. That said, I often have a great number of windows and tabs open for efficiency purposes, and this computer handles the use fluently. Great battery life! Especially while I'm on the road. Great wifi connectivity (fast, seemless integration to each wifi network I've logged into) Screen is clear, nice resolution, and appropriate size. Computer is definitely dense/heavy and correctly named a gaming computer for that purpose. I don't mind carrying the extra weight tho, I'm more concerned with functionality and battery life. For these purposes, great buy for the bucks.

Use this for my high school junior for school. He uses it for gaming at times, but the laptop is perfect for his school work. We find the computer has the right memory and speed.

I looked at several different gaming laptops and decided this was the best bang for the buck, or should I say BEST BUY. It has all the basic needs for gaming that won't break the bank. I would have liked a better graphics card but couldn't justify the price difference on the more expensive models. This one works just fine. I haven't had any lagging as of yet, we will see with newer and different games coming down the pipe line. Overall I would definitely recommend this laptop.
