      Hello 2018Jay,

We're sorry to hear that the BIOS on your computer is not operating properly. Here are the steps to update your BIOS: It is important to keep your System BIOS up to date. Newer releases of BIOS can provide improvements to Hardware compatibility, improved Diagnostics, as well as Security updates and Increased stability.

Once you have established that you require a BIOS update you can download the newer version from the Dell support page www.dell.com/drivers.

      1. Open a web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome etc) and go to www.dell.com/support/drivers.
      2. If you are asked to "Identify your product", then either enter your Service tag, or select "Browse for a product" to select manually.
      3. If the system shown is incorrect, click on "View a different product" and again either enter your Service tag or Browse manually.
      4. After the correct system is selected, you may have to click on the tab that says "Find it Myself" then look further down the page, where it says "Refine your results:". In the pull-down Category menu, choose BIOS. This will refine the results to show only the BIOS category.
      5. If there is more than one file listed, Click on "View details" on the most recent version of the BIOS. Then click on "Important Information".
      6. Click Download File to begin the download.
      7. Save the file to your Desktop.
      8. Once downloaded, you can double click the icon on your desktop.
      9. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. This will reboot your system and perform a BIOS update.

You can read the full article here - http://dell.to/2ESD8fU. We hope these steps help keep your BIOS up to date.

This is one of the best laptops on the market, Pros - killer CUP and graphics card - great build quality - looks so good, the minimalistic gaming laptop look, is perfect for any situation - great sound of you're after a good bass - the fans don't even make noise Cons - It's a bit on the heavy side - wish the screen was a bit brighter ( that's just me) Overall an amazing laptop, it'll last you a good few years and a solid experience and came with hardly any bloatware. I'll recommend you this if you're after mild to hardcore gaming and you don't move around all the time!

This laptop is by far the best deal in the whole store. This laptop comes with a gtx 1050 or a gtx 1050ti. And it is a great deal. It has a very nice 1920x1080 that some people call a tn panel but it has great viewing angles and it is just a good looking screen in general. Vert fast and responsive. There is a good amount of bloatware by dell but that is it. I would recommend this laptop to anyone that is looking for good budget gaming.

I've recently purchased this laptop for 3 reasons. I want to game. I want to do work. I want to not spend that much money. This laptop happily meets all of my needs. It boots up insanely fast thanks to the NVMe m.2 SD and processes all my work fast as all heck. When it comes to gaming... I'm in heaven. Overwatch on high stays at 75 fps and there's zero lag with video even when lots of ultimates are going off. It's so fluid and smooth. Diablo III runs buttery smooth also. Many of my MMO games look incredible as well (I installed a 1TB hybrid drive in the empty 2.5" slot to stuff so this of course). Next thing I'll do is update the memory to a total 32gb but it just runs so good as is!

I compared this laptop with some other items with a similar specification available at BestBuy and opted for this machine as it had the best reviews from other sites as well as from BB customers. My decision proved to be the correct one as the machine is fast (bootup time approx 11 seconds), very nice build quality and the best sounding speakers I've ever heard in a laptop. Definitely recommended.

Great laptop but please take this advice

If you're having issues with a slow WiFi connection, do two things: 1) Immediately eradicate a pre-installed program called "Smartbyte." I could not figure out what was limiting my Wifi speeds and spent hours troubleshooting this. Once I got rid of it, my WiFi went from 27 Mbps to my ISP max of 150 Mbps. It should be noted that I have a Netgear Nighthawk R7000 router which is very powerful. 2) Drop $30 on an Intel 8265 network card and install it yourself. It involves removing a grand total of 2 screws to replace the garbage Intel 3165 that comes stock. Doing just these two things should greatly improve your WiFi connection assuming you have a pretty fast ISP to start with.

Plays all modern games on high/ultra. Newer Display. Makes this lappy sweet looking. Dell sent me the VR Headset for free with purchase and the laptop doesn't even stutter using it. Amazing. (although VR seems like a gimmick to me.) You may need a 2nd HD. I don't like the backlit keyboard. It goes off after a few secs wish it could be left on 24/7

We purchased 2 of these laptops in Aug of 2017, 1 for each of our children. These laptops are used for school work, gaming (Sea of Thieves, Fortnite, etc.), photo and video editing. Very easy to upgrade components, just remove 1 bottom screw in the middle and you have access to everything. We upgraded both laptops to 16gb Ram, the SSD to 1tb, and added a 1tb Hard Drive with the included brackets. The only problem we've had is one of the USB ports on one of the laptops stopped working. Other than that, these laptops have been used almost everyday and are still going strong. We also have laptop coolers to set the Laptops on when gaming as they can get a little warm if sitting flat on a surface. Love the laptops overall and consider these laptops 2 of the best tech purchases we've ever made.

    Awful Laptop Don't Be Fooled!?!?!

So I went to best buy and got this computer on sale, It was 600 for the i5 laptop, the original price was 800, but cause of black Friday it was a bit cheaper, So I bought and took it home...... First thing that happen was it started up kinda fast, i went thru set up with took ten min in total... which inst that bad but then i opened my internet bower to start my downloads for things and it blue screen, within the first 25 mins. That happen to me twice and after i was able to get passed that and use my browser, the whole computer slowed down, it took me 30 min to get 15% on window updated, I tried playing cup head and gear of war4.. Two game they showcase in show... Cuphead just lagged for a few mins then crashed....... and gear of war 4 jeeeeezzz, it was so laggy and had 15 fps , so i uninstall everything restarted the computer and took it back for my money..... Dell im very upset with this, cause the dell computer i had from 2009 without only graphic card change work better and faster then that laptop..... and the laptop was only a day and half old for me..... i paid 640 after tax and expected something good from dell, but now it just razor or asus, laptop from now on.... Don't be tricked thinking this will run Ur game smooth and nice, the laptop i got couldn't even get on the web browser, or even the setting for the laptop within a day of loading it. Best buy Is amazing doe when it come to taking it back.. had no problems and got my money back. But be careful, i think i got all my money back mainly cause it was only a day and it didn't work, but if i was getting this for Christmas or giving my kids this, i would of been a sad person... Cause This Laptop Is bad!!

Great specs if you're ballin on a budget

I decided to downsize from a desktop with higher specs to a laptop for portability and to save space. I wanted to stay under $1k and have had horrible experiences with inexpensive laptops (not gaming) in the past, so I was super hesitant right off the bat. Upon first glance, this thing is so thin! I suppose it's slightly heavy for a laptop, but it's really not bad. The front design and backlit keyboard look great. Some people have commented on their distaste for the plastic finish, but I don't mind it. I was coming from duo 24" monitors and a bulky keyboard so I was worried this wasn't going to satisfy me and be difficult to adjust to, but the display is actually better and the keyboard is easier to use. The biggest con is that the fans are pretty loud when in game which is kind of annoying, but I was spoiled by a giant tower with multiple large fans 4 ft away from my ears vs this little laptop that is right in front of me and probably working twice as hard. Sound is pretty good, although I'll probably stick to using a headset to block out the fans. It only has one audio jack, and my headset has a mic jack so I'll need to get an adapter which is kind of inconvenient but not really. I noticed a crack in the screen about a centimeter long right out of the box, so I had to take it back which is also inconvenient. I could have gone with the slightly cheaper version but I decided to spend the extra $100 on a better graphics card, ssd, and display. It seemed like other brands are offering pretty much the exact same thing for much more. Overall, I'm pretty happy with my purchase. If you're looking to spend as little as possible on something decent, this is it. I hope it lasts years because If not then this review is a big waste of time.

I bought this laptop as it was on sale for 750.. Did not expect the 1050ti to be much .. but man my 2 games I play F1 2017 and Project cars 2 runs solid at 1080p , the new IPS panel is also awesome.. I had a MSI before before with 1060 but it did not run this good... so it must be how its built and configure... Very impressive Dell and a steal at 750, also sound is awesome....

Obviously this isn't a $2000 gaming monster laptop - but between the SSD and the 1050 Ti and (now) the IPS screen, this laptop plays modern games well. It looks good, feels good, and the battery is very very good. I got a certified open box version and it came with all parts and was very clean. I use it for surfing and gaming, easily running games like Elite: Dangerous on High to Ultra settings while using Discord in the background (as well as various websites related to Elite). I have yet to throw any more modern FPS type games at it but it runs Remember Me at max settings with no problems at all. I would have liked to see a DisplayPort and maybe another USB 3.0 port but for less than $800 dollars I can't fairly complain. I didn't find the laptop heavy as my old gaming laptop was a monster ASUS 17.6" from 2012 (and decided I would never buy a 17" laptop again).

    Not Really For Gamers

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I will start my post by saying, the computer ran great. It had no problem doing the job of loading and playing a game. The problem I have with this device is it claims it is a gaming laptop. However, short of buying an external hard drive, there is not enough space to have more than a few games on there. When the average game is 30g and some like World of Warcraft is more. There is no way this can be good for gamers who keep a library of games (especially if you are a steam member and have a huge game library.) So my review is this. The laptop is great, but be warned, you will not have enough space to truly put games on your laptop.

      Hello NotYourAverageGamer,

Thanks for your review. We're sorry that the storage on the computer is not really what you were looking for. We'd recommend looking through the computer to make sure there aren't programs that you're not using that you can uninstall. Uninstalling or removing software or applications that you do not use or do not need from your PC can help speed up your PC. Applications may include background processes, system services, context menu entries and other things that can slow down your PC.

Uninstall applications you no longer need using Programs and Features (previously called Add/Remove Programs). Unnecessary applications occupy space on your hard disk drive.

      1. Press the Windows logo key + R on the keyboard.
      2. In the Run dialog box, type appwiz.cpl and press the Enter key.
      3. In the list, select a program and click Uninstall.

You can read the full article here - http://dell.to/2tSulGV.

We hope this helps free up more space for the games that you'd like to have on your computer.

      Best,

This is a great laptop if you want speed and performance without spending too much. The GTX GeForce 1050TI alone makes it worth buying. It will play your games without any issues. The display could be better, but it's not enough of a negative to be a problem.
