I am excited to use this a vlogging camera! The stabilization is one of my favorite things so I don’t have to go in and edit later on. I have recorded two videos and the quality is amazing and I like how with one bottom I can flip the camera. It’s amazing and it’s fits anywhere. One only con is when I switch certain setting it heats up. It’s a huge convenience and would love to try the osmo pocket 3.

Compared with osmo pocket 1 , dji pocket 2 much more wide angle and better video lighting at night time. Easy to record and carry without catch people’s eyes Good to record memories anywhere and feel more naturally to record yourself . Video quality is little bit better than my Xs Max but I don’t have to worry about memory as like my iPhone , Dji pocket can always get other new SD memories card , perfect. I exchanged it to other new one since mine has focusing problems.

With the world of great cameras on our latest smartphones like iPhone12 pro and Samsung note does this product really justify the need of another camera and who and what is this product targeted at? Lets analyze the details, compare with other gen and conclude if this a good buy even if you own the best smartphone on your pocket. DJI Pocket 2 is one of the few ultra portable light weight(12.5cm tall/weighs 117g), full performance camera on the market that can be easily carried in pocket, purse or bag. DJI has improved compared to the first generation Osmo pocket. Pocket 2 is packed with lot of features like wider lens, larger camera sensor, quad-mic array, 3-axis gimbal, 4k camera for great photo and video quality compared to the first gen. This new gen has a digital zoom feature, better improved audio quality due to four different mic. What is in the box: Camera, camera plastic shell cover, control stick, tripod mount(1/4”), wrist strap, USB C to USB A cable, Lighting adapter, USC-C adapter, DJI Sticker, User guide. After unboxing this camera, setting up is very easy. Just click on the power button and insert the sd card(not included) for quick start. You will need to register this device by connecting to the smartphone using the included adapter. It allows only 5 times to power on and off before it stops functioning and forces to register this device. To register this device, you need to download the DJI Mimo app(ios/playstore) to your smartphone and create new account with DJI if you don’t have one and follow the steps to register and update the firmware. In my case, it updated the firmware (V01.01.00.30) when prompted in less than 2 minutes. Once the initial setup is completed, the pocket 2 is ready to use. Its three axis motorized stabilization captures the pictures and video footage very smooth. We tried to test this when running, jogging, hiking, biking and there is no wobbles or shakes and that is due to the gimbal stabilization and this makes a great reason to buy this compared to smartphone or any other device. This device is primarily targeted towards content creators and vloggers. If you are someone who owns a YouTube channel like myself, then this device will not disappoint you for travel vlogging, hiking and other outdoor activities that requires video stabilization. Pocket 2 has 2 unique modes when attached to the smartphone and using the app. Story mode and Livestream mode. Livestream mode is a great feature for pocket 2 where you can stream live to youtube, facebook and other social media apps. However, its doesn’t work without the creator combo pack or the Do-it-all handle accessory. If you are purchasing pocket 2 for live streaming/vlogging, then suggest you to get the creator combo variant of this product for $150 more and you get the Do-it-all handle, wireless microphone transmitter, micro tripod, wide-angle lens rather than just purchasing individually which will cost you more. Pocket 2 has a new controller adapter that can be attached or detached easily and it allows you to control the zoom and pan/tilt of the gimbal. Touchscreen is small but it helps to navigate some features really easy. By using the touchscreen, you can edit the video or photo modes, quality, set time-lapse, motion lapse, slow motion videos. There are 2 physical buttons that performs various functions. If the MFB button is pressed once it switches photo and video mode, when pressed twice it recenters the gimbal, and thrice it switches the camera between facing forward(selfie mode) and backward. Pocket 2 shoots 4K, 2.7k and 1080p video at up to 60fps and captures photos using 64megapixel sensor. It also uses 240p at FHD for slow motion videos. Pictures look great as the camera lens sports a 20mm equivalent field of view and f/1.8 aperture. Only con, I can think of is the battery size. Battery is non removable 875mAh and is advertised for around 2 hours but on testing it varies depending on video format and was able to get around 1.5 hours. Also, after continuous use when shooting in 4k videos it gets little hot. Also, HDR is not ready. Overall, if you are looking for a lightweight, pocketable, stable video, improved audio and great pictures then DJI Pocket will not disappoint and would recommend for any content creators or vloggers.

The best camera is the one that's with you!

This tiny, pocketable camera is pretty mind blowing. I started shooting photos with a 110 film camera when I was 6 years old. I have always loved trying and purchasing new photo and video cameras throughout the years. Taking photos, capturing video and just documenting life is probably my favorite hobby and one that is very important to me. Anywhoooo.. The DJI Pocket 2 blows my mind. I can't help but marvel at all the technology packed into something so small. Photo and video quality is very very good for its size.. I would say that it is totally usable and acceptable. The onboard microphones record audio very well and I am happy with the sound captured by them. Voices are recorded loud and clear, and the microphones did a good job of recording my voice even when driving down a downtown road with the windows down. You can choose between different video resolutions, I opted for 4k 60fps when outdoors and in great lighting. For dusk / indoor and less than ideal lighting, I would recommend dropping down to 30 frames per second. The camera is able to gather light better at lower frame rights. When shooting in good lighting, video quality is pretty sharp and colors are punchy yet pleasing. The camera doesn't over process your photos and videos. The best part about this camera is that the lens is stabilized by a 3 axis gimbal! You have to try really hard to make the video wobble! It handle every outdoor activity easily. Walking / vlogging, riding along on a cruise with my hand out the window lol. I let my little nephew run around with it in the back yard with it while he chased his younger brother playing tag and the video was super steady! I'm not an athlete or try any wild sports so I can't comment on how good it would be for extreme action videos, But everything I tried to do to make the video shake was handled nicely by the gimbal. It does have some smart features like FPV which i assume means first person view, Follow and Tilt lock. I never really mess with the tilt lock function. I assume that would be to keep the camera locked in one position. FPV follows your hand movements and makes for a pretty good first person point of view. Follow will lock onto a person, thing, or face and follow it around frame. It isn't very fast, so you have to help it along a bit with your hand by keeping the subject in frame. It works pretty good, But the lens is so wide, I don't think you really need it. Unless you want to place the camera on a tripod or leave it in a stationary position. Like I said, It isn't very fast, so it will lose the subject if they are running or moving fast but I think DJI could probably update the firmware and make it better later. DJI includes a remote stick that you can use to control the gimbal, or use it to zoom in digitally toggle different settings. The part is interchangeable and DJI also includes a lightning (iPhone / iPad) adapter and a USB C adapter. I thought that was really cool. You can use the adapter to connect the camera to your phone or tablet and use the bigger screen as a viewfinder. The DJI app will also be able to transfer saved videos and photos to your mobile device when connected with it. Very Cool! I was able to transfer the videos I took to my iPhone and share instantly to social media and Youtube! You'll also get a carry case that the camera slides / locks into place into and a tripod mount. The only thing that doesn't come in the box is a micro SD card. I would recommend a 4k capable Micro SD card that records at 100mb or greater. The only negative thing I have to say about this camera is the battery. But considering its tiny size.. It is good. I started at 100% and after about 15 minutes of recording at 4k 60fps I was down to 80% If my math is right, I would assume you should be able to get about 75 minutes of video footage before the battery dies. The good thing though is that it charges via USB C and doesn't need a high voltage charger. You can plug it into an external battery pack while your on the go and give it a little boost along the way. Would I recommend this to a friend? well...that all depends on what your needs are. This is a niche product. I think vloggers would really appreciate this camera. The wide angle , great video and audio quality along with the ability to rotate the lens to face you then back to your point of view with the press of a button is awesome. I plan on carrying it with me everyday to document life and memories. I still prefer and love to capture memories with a camera over a phone and this little guy is packed with many helpful features to help capture them. I'm betting DJI might even be able to add do more cool things via the app and firmware updates. PROS: Tiny! 3 Axis Stabilizer Gimbal works great! Excellent video and microphone quality Jam Packed with features in body and in app. Easily connects to mobile device for file transfer and to use as a viewfinder / the use of many features in the app The camera body works nicely as a grip! Interchangeable Mini Control stick and adapters Cons: Small Screen ( Although helpful for framing) And in the middle - Battery life. It could be better but it is hard to complain consider its tiny size and you can charge it easily via USB C.

Great image quality, phone connection inconvenient

    ## Design The DJI Pocket 2 fits nicely into a hard case included with the unit. The case does not add much bulk to the unit and helps protect the camera and gimbal mechanism. The controls on the Pocket 2 can be a little confusing. There are two main buttons on the front: the red "shutter" button to trigger the camera, and a "mode" button that switches between functions. However, there is also an optional joystick and button panel that you can slide into the Pocket 2. But when it comes time to transfer your recordings to your phone, you must remove this small panel and slide in the Lightning or USB-C connector into the same spot. I would have preferred that the joystick controls were a permanent feature and that the phone connections could simply be plugged into a port on the side of the unit. It seems odd that you need to remove the physical controls in order to access the data connections. ## Performance Like the DJI OM 4, the DJI Pocket 2 does a great job of smoothing out movements in your video recordings. However, unlike the OM 4, the DJI Pocket 2 has its own camera and does not need your phone to function. You can see in my photo that the DJI Pocket 2 is more compact than the OM 4. The Pocket 2 removes some of the up and down motion of walking while recording, but it does not completely eliminate it. However, it smooths out the movement enough that most people should not get seasick while watching your recordings. The small display on the DJI Pocket 2 allows you to see your recordings and access many settings through the touch interface. However, the screen is very small and it is difficult to use as a viewfinder. It's also challenging to navigate through the various settings and features as most options require you to remember to swipe in a certain direction to access them. ## Features - Portable: The Pocket 2 fits nicely in its hard case and can fit in most pockets. There are even storage locations in the case for the phone connectors and the optional wide-angle lens. - AI Editor: You can select the videos and photos from which you wish to create a video and the AI Editor will automatically pick out a style and begin storyboarding the clips. However, as of this initial release, the videos and photos must first be downloaded to your phone and added to your phone's gallery. This is different from the DJI Fly app which can create videos directly from the memory card in the drone. Given most phones have somewhat small onboard storage (and instead push you towards cloud storage subscriptions), this is a bit inconvenient if you're trying to save space on your phone. - Story Mode: This includes some pre-canned Instagram story-worthy templates for your videos. - Tripod mount: A separate base can be snapped onto the bottom of the unit which includes a standard tripod mount while still allowing access to the USB-C charging port on the bottom of the unit. ## Battery Life After using the DJI Pocket 2 for about an hour on a recent road trip, I had approximately 60% battery remaining. This seems to support the 140 minute battery life that DJI stated. The Pocket 2 can be recharged with a USB-C cable (included) and a USB wall charger up to 5V 2A (not included). ## Summary The DJI Pocket 2 produces smooth and high quality video and pictures without typing up your smartphone. The included hard case makes it pocket friendly and it starts up fast for spur-of-the-moment recording. The on-screen menus are difficult to navigate with the tiny touchscreen, and connecting the unit to your phone is somewhat inconvenient as it requires sliding out the physical controls to slide in a phone connector.

If you are looking for a compact and portable camera that can capture stunning 4K videos and photos, the DJI Pocket 2 might be the perfect choice for you. This tiny camera is equipped with a 3-axis gimbal that stabilizes your footage and a 64MP sensor that delivers crisp and detailed images. Whether you are vlogging, traveling, or documenting your life, the DJI Pocket 2 can handle it all. One of the best features of the DJI Pocket 2 is its object tracking capability. You can simply tap on the screen to select a subject, and the camera will follow it automatically, keeping it in the center of the frame. This is ideal for solo videographers who want to record themselves without worrying about holding the camera or adjusting the angle. You can also use the wireless microphone accessory to capture clear and directional audio from a distance. The DJI Pocket 2 also offers a variety of creative modes and effects to spice up your videos. You can shoot in HDR, timelapse, slow motion, panorama, and more. You can also use the DJI Mimo app to edit your footage, add music, filters, and stickers, and share your creations with your friends and followers. The app also lets you control the camera remotely and access more advanced settings. The DJI Pocket 2 is not flawless, though. It struggles in low-light and high-contrast situations, and it can get hot while filming in 4K. The battery life is also not very impressive, lasting only about 2 hours of continuous recording. However, these drawbacks are minor compared to the overall performance and convenience of this camera. The DJI Pocket 2 is a remarkable device that packs a lot of power and features in a small and sleek body. It is easy to use, versatile, and fun. It is a must-have for anyone who loves to capture and share their moments with magic at hand.

Great little unit. I took off a star for the poor battery life and the terrible concept of a non-replaceable battery. Pros +Really good camera for the size +Gimble is excellent - my home videos are very stable +Built-in mic is acceptable quality +Locations of build-in mics are very well designed; I never blocked them while recording +Good build quality +Buttons are nice and easy to click Mids *Screen is small, but I knew that when I bought it *It comes with two bottom covers - 1 without a tripod mount and 1 with a tripod mount - I don't understand why the tripod mount isn't just built-in? *A bit annoying to get out of the included case *Included strap takes from Titanic, women and children only - I have to fuss a lot to get it around my man palm *The entire unit gets hot during normal use Cons -Autofocus can be a little hit or miss -Battery life is terrible; 3 to 4 mins of 4k60 recording ate 10% battery -Built-in battery only -No way to change shortcut buttons - I would love to see "recenter" as a single click instead of double -Videos need to transcode before I can save them to my iPhone (which the app does automatically when I try to save it) -While the camera body is good, the paint around the gimble components is easily scratched with a fingernail and no pressure I would recommend this product, but it's a bit pricey for being a 1 to 3 year device thanks to the non-replaceable battery.

I got to play with the DJI Pocket 2 camera and was really impressed with what it was able to do, It was convenient enough to carry with me and capable enough to contend with the bigger cameras available on the market. Takes some getting used to but once you learn it's quirks, you can be sure it will do a better job then a lot of other cameras. What's in box DJI Pocket 2, Case thump attachment USB-C/thunderbolt attachment USB-C cable Landyard Getting to film with it the past month, I found the Pocket 2 very convenient to use because of it's small size but very capable of taking 4K video. The dynamic range was also impressive, thought I'd get a bunch of unusable video from the sun being in front of where I was filming but it was able to film exactly my point of view even with the sun right in front. Another feature that DJI packs into their cameras is the Face tracking. This is really useful for when you're vlogging or doing a 1 person video shoot, you can simply put your Pocket 2 on a tripod then have it track you, if you need to move around the place. DJI makes it easy to stitch together little videos with their Mimo app, it was easy to make short videos from clips you put together and easily edit. Here's a sample of my trip to Yosemite. https://youtu.be/IbjklnnHdec

I was a little skeptical on buying this camera as my first vlog camera, but I’m glad I did. It’s so small that it makes it much easier to record in public because it’s embarrassing holding a big camera in front of everyone in my opinion. The video quality is AMAZING. definitely a good beginner vlog camera in my opinion.
