    I had the worst experience ever trying to work with this drone. I was extremely excited to get this drone for Christmas however it proved to be a huge let down. During setup nothing went right. First the app couldn’t read any of the QR codes for setup, next I was DENIED the ability to authenticate the drone and had a multi hour fiasco where I learned basically DJI sometimes misses some drones in some kind of a gatekeeping scenario to limit the manufacturing or disbursement from unauthorized dealers... finally I was able to get it authenticated and setup - I was ready to take my first flight. Prior to take-off it says a new mandatory firmware update was needed (even though I updated it less than 24 hours ago). This update would load and run for about 2 minutes and every time at the end have me a “failed to update” message. At this point I just said forget it and took the thing back. Such a disappointment.

      Hi Unbeknownst,

      I am sorry for the troubles that you've had with this drone. If the firmware is failing to update with your phone, you can try to update it via your PC or Mac using the DJI Assistant program.
