Overall it’s a great projector looks bright. What is best is that the black are black. In the picture you can see the right side 2250 vs the left epson 9240. More lumens is not always better. 2250 is a 2700 lumen while the 9240 is 4000 lumen. The black are horrible with the 9240. Also 2250 has built in android tv

Stop searching. This thing is perfect. Vibrant colors, fast processor, no lag. No blurry blacks. Crystal clear. Dont waste money on a 4k. Will need an audio system. You are buying the video not audio. Fan can be noticed, but thats expected. Excellent home theater projector

Ever since I setup my home theater I have been using Epson projectors and mainly for two reasons, they are affordable and provide an amazing picture quality and overall, an awesome home theater experience. The Epson Home Cinema 2250 1080p with Android TV was no different. It provides great colors, perfect brightness and now you can watch pretty much anything you want with the addition of Android TV. I did run into couple issues, nothing that I could not figure out and finish my setup process. In this review I will go over the issues that I encountered with this unit, the features, PROs, and CONs of the new Epson Home Cinema 2250 1080p 3LCD with Android TV Projector: UNBOXING AND SETUP: In the box you will receive the projector with power cable, two remotes (One Bluetooth – remote with all options and one simple IR remote with quick access buttons and volume control and they come with batteries). I setup my projector on a ceiling mount, which was simple and easy to do. Now, this is where I ran into my first issue. Once the projector is powered on the setup process starts with and that is now controlled via android tv. The quick setup process is where you ask google to “setup my device” and google finds the projector and starts to link your account and set it up. Well, the process for me started off good and then it got stuck on copying files and kept getting stuck there. At first, I thought it may have been an issue where it just froze or something, but that was not the case. So, I restarted my phone and did a factory reset on the projector and started the setup process again and yet again it did the same thing and got stuck on copying files for about 20 minutes. So, again I restarted my phone and restarted the setup process but this time I did not my phone to complete the setup but instead used the screen prompts which worked just fine, and I was able to setup the projector. The second issue I came across was trying to setup my soundbar via the Bluetooth. I tired multiple times to connect my soundbar via the Epson menu and it was able to discover the soundbar but would not connect, I am not sure why. But I was able to work around the Epson menu and connect my sound bar directly to the android tv by going into the android Bluetooth options. The android Bluetooth option found and paired with my soundbar on the first try. After those little hiccups I was able to enjoy a nice movie with the family. The whole process along with those hiccups probably took me about 45 minutes to setup everything and be ready to go. FEATURES: The Epson Home Cinema 2250 projector features a Full HD 1080P display, 2700 lumens, 70000:1 contrast ratio, built-in speaker, 1 HDMI input, 1 audio jack, and built-in and removable android tv with google assistant. The unit measures about 3in H x 12in W x 9.5in D and wight roughly about 6 lbs. The project is mountable and has a built-in mini stand. This projector has a viewable screen size from 33 to 320 inches. The projector has a lamp life of up to 10,000 hours on eco mode and up to 6,000 on normal usage. The projector offers 4 color modes, Dynamic, Bright Cinema, Natural and Cinema. You are also able to adjust the tint, color, saturation, and contrast along with the keystone and focus. Because of android tv you can cast your mobile devices and connect your laptop to the projector. USAGE: So, I have been using this projector now for few days and honestly aside from the initial hiccups I have no complaints. I am projecting about 120 in screen that is crisp and clear, the colors are on point and the built-in speaker is decent but not great. I would highly recommend adding an external surround sound or at least a soundbar for that great home theater experience. Since this unit has built- in android tv, I did not have the need to connect any other devices to it, in fact since the android system is so intuitive, I was able to add my own application and just download a few more to suit my needs. The only connection I made was to my ps4 via the HDMI cable and even that was amazing. Playing Modern Warfare on a 120in screen is an experience on it own. The projector is even bright enough to watch in lit room. Also, as I had mentioned the android tv device is also removable from the projector. You can remove it and plug it into any tv oy device that accepts HDMI connections. You will need to get a separate power supply for it if you decide to remove it. The only concern I had with the unit was that the fan is a little loud, not loud enough to ruin your experience or even that you hear it when watching a movie or anything, but when nothing is playing you can hear the fan running. PROS: Android TV Clear and Crisp Display Good Colors Good Brightness CONS: FAN NOISE – NOT TOO BAD THOUGH Overall, this is definitely a good choice for when it comes to home cinema projectors, along with the addition of android tv makes this projector really intuitive. It is simple to setup, aside from my original hiccups, and easy to use. You will love the colors, and the image quality this projector provides. I would recommend you check out this projector if your are in the market for one.

This is a Very Good product! We purchased a projector in a different style in 2019. It was a lower level but we still enjoyed the time when playing videos on it. This year we upgraded our gear and selected this one. It is amazing on colors and playing HD videos. We’re pretty satisfied with it.

Review of Epson Home Cinema 2250 1080p 3LCD Projector with Android TV The Home Cinema 2250 at glance is simple to start to using right out of box. Just plug in, connect to WiFI, and start watching movies and videos available in Google Movie, or Youtube, built in Google Assistance, and Bluetooth connection. This and the Wireless connection makes it great and flexible device. The image quality is brilliant and sharp if the video is 1080p. Watched 4k movies and doesn’t disappoint although the projector is not 4K. It has single HDMI input, analog audio port 3.5 mm stereo, micro USB-B Service Only, and two remote controls, and a built in speaker of 10W. 2,700 lumens of color and white brightness, and color modes Dynamic, Bright Cinema, Cinema and Game. These just to mention few of the H/W attributes. Full specifications from the brand at https://mediaserver.goepson.com/ImConvServlet/imconv/426b927bf1bb0e9f0cb3b692285e29e1892102d7/original?assetDescr=Home_Cinema_2250_Projector_Specification_Sheet_CPD-61546.pdf The unique of the projector is Android TV and how it work with the projector part. The experience of using Android TV is similar if not same to rest of streaming devices and platform available in the market. It comes pre installed Google Play, Netflix, Youtube, Youtube Music, Prime Video and Kodi. As alternative, it can be used with second streaming device not supported in Android TV connecting with HDMI, and still can experience same excellent quality of video. The only downside and that I find it impact highly in the experience is the projector if not the Android OS doesn’t seem to handle well the bluetooth connection.Watched movie having projector connected the sound via bluetooth with speaker. And there are some daily usage cases for which the bluetooth is not stable. This is: 1. Watching from Projector streaming, switching between app and watching video, the sound doesn’t stay connected to the speaker. 2. Turn off, and next day turn on to start watching, and need to connect manually again. 3. Using second streaming device connected via HDMI, the sound doesn’t seem to pass through to the projector bluetooth connection. Need to have dedicated connection of sound in the alternative streaming device, if not the sound would come from the projector speaker. The the use of remote control that comes with it, it is not big deal, but not bad, within standard experience. For last, for the back of the projector, it comes with a cover. However if it is used with HDMI, can’t be covered. It does as designed to do for high quality image for big screen without having to use a streaming device separately. But for users that rely on bluetooth connection for sound system.

Pros - first thing about this Epson 2250 that it’s bright! most people look at the lumens level and would say oh it’s only 2700 lumens i’ve seen higher, please ignore those people, some also doesn’t know certain projectors doesn’t offer an equal lumen level like this one, 2250 has 2700 color lumens and 2700 white brightness lumens, that’s is where you want to focus on. - an LCD projector, some people says a DLP projector looks better but, I wouldn’t personally think this LCD projectors looks amazing of what it can do. - Epson do have a $800 2150 while this seats about $999, what’s the difference? I believe the 2250 home cinema have a much better contrast, and buy using this it definitely shows. - 2250 home cinema is a 1080 and can also output 4k, yes it can output 4k but of course would be downscale to 1080, do way I figured this out is by connecting the xbox series x console - this does not support HDR in couldn’t image how even brighter this would get, but it’s something I care about on projectors - Epson 2250 fan can get pretty loud when you have this set dynamic mode, its so bright during this mode so I highly recommend adjust the color temperature and give you self a little warm tone, but during eco mode it gives you a much quieter fan noises. eco mode still provide me the brightness I need and I don’t feel like i’m over killing the projector, and should make the bulb last longer as well. - the 2250 does come with built in mono speakers, I would highly recommend to atleast connect it external speaker or maybe through bluetooth, it’s nice to have but who want to watch 100” movie with the built on speakers, you would want a bigger sounds - there only 1 HDMI and there is another HDMI plug but it’s where the android tv device is connected into, but if you don’t want that, you can also replace it with the older small fire stick. - in the box it comes with two remotes, one for controlling the projector the other is for use during android tv, I personally don’t even touch the android tv remote, it’s pointless, you can just put that to the side and use the regular remote since you can control your whole android tv experience on the same remote - from the picture quality for me as a user, the quality was great, I could easily play video games with this projector without a problem of how the quality might look, so far is a great 1080p picture - about gaming this can easily be use if you want to chill and play some single player games, wouldn’t recommend any competitive play but if you want to go ahead, input lag shouldn’t be that bad unless you really want to be technical about it - inside the setting you do have tons of options on how you want to set the picture quality, I would really like to calibrate this and get the best image quality as much as I can get to, I might have to wait on that, from the box it already looks great. con - non backlit remote, and it looks cheap, most of the time people would use this during the dark, so a backlit remote would have been nice, specially you paying $999 for this device - wish it came with PC port, yes I understand most PC/ Laptop nowadays comes with HDMI but having a dedicated input would have given us an extra option to work with - overall for the price of $999 I think it’s great projector, people might say it’s only 1080p for $999, not all projector is created equal if you feel like a cheaper 1080p could be better for then go right ahead, but epson home cinema 2250 would not disappoint, great looking picture/ contrast it’s small enough that’s it’s easy to transfer, with the built in android tv it does gives you more option to watching your favorite app and media with plugging anything at the back.

    Clear picture, quality, responsive software

Overall, I’ve been very impressed by the Epson Cinema 2250 projector, from the quality of the image to the responsiveness of the software. For anyone who has purchased a “smart” TV in the last several years, you never really know what you’re in for until you use it in person. We have one “smart” tv in our house that is so sluggish and unresponsive when scrolling through menus, it feels like using dial up, and we ended up having to buy an external device for video. This is the first place the Epson Cinema Projector shines. I was immediately impressed with how quickly the menus loaded, and how effortlessly I was able to switch between watching different apps. Some staples like Netflix and Hulu come pre-loaded, but on setup, you are also prompted to install other recommended apps, like YouTube Kids. I found this to be a great introduction to the projector. My only complaint is when logging into several apps, there was no option to setup from my phone instead, so manually typing in login credentials was necessary. As for the picture itself, I was impressed with how easy it was to setup and get a clear picture. When I first turned on the projector, the picture was blurry, but after a couple seconds adjusting the focus sliders on the top of the projector, I had a clear picture. It’d be nice if it was able to automate this, but it was very minimal effort to set it myself. The projector comes with 2 remotes, which I still find confusing. It feels like they had to make a last minute change that made the default remote incompatible for some reason so they included a second remote instead. A couple “gotchas” that took me some time to figure out: When connecting Bluetooth headphones, the volume on the remote did nothing, despite appearing to change the volume on the screen. I had to use the volume control on my headphones to change the volume. I’m not sure what would happen if I were using headphones that didn’t have a volume control. The HDMI and audio port are hidden behind a mesh covering the back of the unit. Nowhere in the directions that come with the projector or online anywhere mentions that the mesh piece needs to be removed to access the HDMI port. I finally found a review of the product that mentioned removing the grill I originally thought was just a speaker cover. The other gripe here is that with and hdmi cable plugged in, there’s nowhere for the back cover to go. It would have been better to include a design that allowed a back cover with an hdmi and audio cutout. Not a huge thing, but it seems like an easy fix. The sound quality is about what you would expect from a projector, which isn’t anything amazing. I’ve long given a pass to projectors due to their size and function, but with quality speaker options on the market these days in small form factors, I think projector manufacturers can step things up a bit. Perhaps offer a mode with a better internal speaker to allow a cheaper option for those who plan to use external speakers anyways. Overall though, the sound is fine, but if I were to use it as my primary cinema source, I would definitely recommend external speakers or Bluetooth speakers The fan itself is fairly loud in a small space, but not too noticeable once a movie is playing. Overall, the picture quality and brightness is good, but the real winner is the smoothness of the included Android software, they chose a quality “smart” integration that for me is make or break. I have another projector and having to connect another device for video content, more cables dangling from the projector, is significantly more inconvenient than the built-in android system they have in this Epson Cinema 2250. One last interesting thing is the “smart” integration seems to be a custom HDMI stick powered by micro-USB, and is easily accessible from the back of the projector. I can’t help but wonder if this means future opportunities to upgrade the “smart” portion of the projector without having to purchase a whole new projector, if that’s part of Epson’s plan, then I’m doubly happy to recommend them for the forward thinking regarding future obsolescence of the hardware powering the smart features. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a decent projector with smart features enabled.

I have owned a couple projectors before to take camping or have a movie night in the backyard during summer. It was ok with it's 800x600 resolution and sound that only came out of the projector. But this Epson Home Cinema 2250 is like having a 10 foot Android TV in a little box. The setup is super easy. If you have an Android phone just pair your phone to the projector and follow the prompts to connect your projector to your WIFI. Then put in the batteries and connect the remote to the projector. Very simple and you are ready to watch. The projector comes with many apps downloaded already but you can add apps from your phone during setup too. On top of the popular apps like Netflix, YouTube and Prime, I was able to add my favorite apps like The Sunday Ticket, MLB TV and NBA League pass apps so I could watch all my sports on this awesome projector. The connections on the back are very simple (once you find them). Pull off the cover that looks like a speaker cover and you will find 1 HDMI port and an audio out port which you will not need if you have a Bluetooth speaker. Yes you can connect a speaker close to where you are projecting to get the sound like it is coming out of the picture like on a TV. No more hearing the sound coming from behind you while you are watching a movie or show in front of you. The picture from the projector is great. Even in a sunlit room ( see pic), just tweaking the brightness, contrast and color will produce an awesome picture. When not using the apps on the projector I just hook up my DIRECTV box to the HDMI port and can watch whatever I want wherever I want. I haven't mounted the projector in 1 spot because I like to move it around. During summer out by the pool, camping by the lake or relaxing in my living room. Just get a 100" screen, a Bluetooth speaker and you've got entertainment anywhere you want.

This projector was a perfect addition to my new home. The quality hasn't faded through the two years in which I've had it. The sound quality is also very impressive considering I didn't use any other speakers for the first year. I definitely recommend any other buyers who have a dream of creating a home theater.

This projector linked to my droid and was setup in a few minutes. It has amazing picture for the price. The apps work slick. The only complaint I have is it wont connect to the soundbars I have via bluetooth, due encryption rules or something. It does connect to a portable speaker, so i know it works. Just need to figure out the work around that doesnt require me to plug it in. The built in speaker is surprisingly decent, for what can fit in a projector.

Super easy to use, the picture looks great even when I just gave it on my wall and not a screen. It's larger then I expected and the fan is louder then I expected but still overall I really enjoy it. I love that I can actually watch all my apps (Netflix Hulu) right on it. Even the speaker it comes with is good, but I have easily connect my own speaker as well!
