Revolutionary Home Cinema Experience with Epson

I recently purchased the Epson LS800 projector, and it has completely transformed my home viewing experience. This projector is a game-changer, especially for those considering a replacement for traditional TV setups. What stands out most about the LS800 is its exceptional brightness. I use it without a screen, projecting directly onto a wall, and the image quality remains incredibly vivid and clear. This is true even during the day, where natural light usually hampers projector performance. The colors are vibrant, and the contrast is sharp, making movies and sports viewing an absolute delight.
The installation process was straightforward, and the projector’s sleek design fits seamlessly into my living space. It’s compact enough not to be intrusive yet powerful enough to deliver a cinematic experience. The sound quality is also noteworthy, eliminating the need for an external sound system for everyday use. Whether it’s for gaming, movies, or streaming, the LS800 performs exceptionally well across all fronts.
In summary, the Epson LS800 has exceeded my expectations. It’s a top-notch projector that offers great value for its price, making it an ideal choice for anyone looking to upgrade their home entertainment system. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality, versatile, and user-friendly projector.

Upgraded from an 82 inch TV and glad I did! Paired it with the Epson silverflex 120 inch screen and results are phenomenal!! Between Formovie, Hisense, Samsung and LG, I chose Epson because of the package deal at best buy, plus I really needed one that performs in bright lid room. Live it, sharp, bright, and low fan noise! Also paired it eith Samsung Q990B soundbar that cones with 2 HDMI input since Epson LS800 doesn’t have eArc, wished they had that for more seamless CEC integration! Tricky part is to find a media table that’s low for this purpose and I ended up with a coffee table that’s 16.5 inch tall, 14 inch table height maybe more ideal!

As an experienced UST user, I can confirm that this unit is excellent. The setup was very straightforward, the images are bright and colorful, and the 4K is awesome. It works perfectly with our sound system (Vizio Soundbar and surround), and the unit's HDMI ARC works perfectly. It's worth the cost.
The screen setup is effortless and professional. You will find it very to the point.

I’ve been running the LS800 in my living room for about a week. It’s not an ideal home theater setup, the blinds are always open with substantial ambient light, it’s open concept with people coming and going at all times, and despite this the LS800 has blown me away. We can easily watch at any time of the day, from any angle. Set up is straightforward and you can easily do it yourself. If you’re looking for 100”+ experience, this is the way to go. We love it!

Truly ultra short throw and very bright projector

The Epson LS 800 is an excellent UST 4k projector and truly shines in high ambient light situations.
Pros:
1) This is a truly "ultra" short throw projector. I am projecting a 120 inch screen from about 7 inches from the wall. Makes the setup very clean and compact. Could fit on some tv stands if deep enough.
2) This projector is bright. I typically don't watch movies and sports with very dim lights, I like to have some reasonable amount of light. The projector shines in this use case. It is bright enough to project a colorful and contrasty picture even with light in the room. The attached picture is with my 4 ceiling lights on.
3) Love the colors in Cinema picture mode. I have always liked the Cinema mode on Epson projectors, they seem very natural and cinematic. However, their is a caveat ( See cons below)
The truly "ultra" short throw and bright picture make this an ideal candidate to replace living/family room TVs.
I also casually game and found the projector very responsive without any noticeable lag, I am not an expert but it was plenty good for me.
The Audio also was very good out of the box although I do use an external soundbar.
I have owned Epson projectors before and I like their out of the box color settings in general, however here I had to tweak a few things which leads to the cons below.
Cons:
1) The projector's color is most pleasing to me in the Cinema picture mode. However, the projector is significantly less bright than it's Max capability in this mode.
The projector is it's brightest in the Dynamic picture mode. However, I found the colors to be too saturated and unnatural in this mode.
So, what to do?
Ultimately I had to play with the wall color temperature settings along with the color temperature settings as well as saturation/color settings in the Dynamic picture mode to get it as close to the Cinema mode as possible....which leads to..
2) Epson has removed a lot of the color correction capability it has on its projectors usually on this model. Don't get me wrong, it still has adjustment capabilities but not to the extent on its other projectors. This made it very difficult to adjust the picture color to my liking. Usually I don't tinker with the settings as Epson's Cinema mode is very good. However, here I had to since the Dynamic mode is the one you want to be using for brightness as well as better HDR. I got it to eventually where I was satisfied but it was not easy. Hope, Epson can add a color correction option with a future firmware release that is similar to their other projectors.
Conclusion:
Despite the cons above I highly recommend the projector. It's truly ultra short throw nature and bright picture in Dynamic picture mode make this a viable tv replacement in situations with ambient light. I have always liked Epson's color in their Cinema mode settings ( feel they are similar to Sony in terms of accurate and natural colors). I just had to work the settings here to get the dynamic picture mode( best brightness and HDR) to look like the Cinema mode.

At first I was skeptical coming from a 85 inch QLED. I made this my main tv for the upcoming season and no regrets here. I know getting a screen would drastically increase the quality and contrast but look at this picture on a wall! Why spend 3k on a screen? Very happy

Awesome picture. As good as my 65" LG oled. Ceiling mounted with Spectra 120" alr screen (inverted). Just used default settings. Even with ambient light quality is great. Audio is just as unbelievable. Android tv a plus. NO Netflix but it has built in chromecast (haven't tried yet) Took weeks of research and finally ended up with the ls800. Would highly recommend. Had 2 weeks now. Hope it lasts. I understand that lasers dim over time. Don't know how long before that starts to happen.

Amazing! Right out of the box it was ready to go. The picture is crisp and the unit is user friendly. There was some calibration needed due to unevenness from the floor/rug, but we had Geek Squad do that for us. The sound quality surprised me. It is loud!. We ended up purchasing the 9.1 JBL surround sound speaker system to pair with the projector. I ca not be happier with this purchase. Gaming is a breeze as well on it. I highly recommend this project for, you will not be disappointed.

I was a replacing a fixed Sony projector I had that no longer worked in my new space and needed a short throw projector. The quality is fantastic, but I would recommend spending the extra cash on an ALR screen to maximize picture clarity and get 4k pixilation. I also purchased a motorized projector stand that opens and closes with TV power.

Couldn't be happier. Very bright and clear picture. Like all projectors, the picture is better in a dark space, but this one is very usable with some ambient light. Amazing how big the picture is from just inches from the wall. We basically installed it on the TV stand where the TV was before. Only recommendation is to use a screen. We tried to project on the wall and then used a cheap portable screen, which was basically a white bedsheet. It's ok if you do that, but once we installed a 120" white projector screen, the difference was night and day. No need to buy a really expensive screen either. We went with a budget model on Amazon and it's fantastic. Note also that the projector's operating system has pretty much all of the Android TV apps except for Netflix. Thus, you might want to pick up a Roku, Amazon or Apple streaming device if you want Netflix.

I’ve had several projectors, epson 4010, Ben q 7050i, and now the epson ls800. It’s amazing out of the box. Only drawback is not enough color control. Epson does an amazing job. Even better paired with the silver screen.ill let the photo speak for itself

Great projector. Picture clear. Only downside is on off button is too sensitive. During set up having to move projector kept turning it off.
