Pros: * FAST! * Excellent scans. * Can scan both sides at the same time at full speed. * Large touch screen. * Ample wireless and wired connectivity options. * Bundled software is useful. Review: I’ve been going as paperless as possible for years. Not only does it save physical storage space and provide options for backup copies (both local and in the cloud), but there’s also a ton of options for having software that scans those documents into searchable text so finding them later is faster and easier than flipping through drawers of paper. The Epson RR-600W scanner is designed specifically for scanning receipts and invoices, but it is also a great all-around wireless ADF scanner. It is fast, accurate and can even scan both sides of the page at the same time without slowing down. It takes up very little space on any desk and with its numerous wireless connection options, it doesn’t even need to be near your computer. The built-in color touch screen make selection of options fast and easy but once you set it up, you may not even need to use the built-in menus much. I have it set up on my home wireless network so it’s easily accessible by our Macs, PCs, iPads and iPhones. You can basically just load your documents in it and walk away; doing all of the control from your other devices. If fact, if you didn’t need physical access to the scanner to load and collect your scanned paper, you probably could put it just about anywhere. It even comes bundled with some useful software for scanning receipts and doing OCR on them. I have seen more comprehensive software, but the free apps that it comes with might just be good enough for most people with basic needs. In the event that your paper jams, which is a MUCH more rare occurrence than in my prior scanner, the lid opens wide and makes it really easy to get in and clear anything that might be stuck. There are a few small things that could be improved; however. While this Epson scanner is faster, scans more clearly and takes up less desktop space than my prior receipt scanner, that other scanner had a few advantages. With this Epson, you load the documents upside down and facing backwards; the top of the page goes in first and the front faces away from you. I’m sure this load direction seems logical from an engineer’s point of view, but from a user’s perspective, it is opposite to what one might expect. You’ll eventually get used to this but will have quite a few upside-down blank scan until you do. The paper guides slide wide enough to fit a standard letter-size page in, and they get narrow enough to support all but the skinniest of receipts. The problem is that the scanner is designed to handle a large stack of paper to scan in bulk so you don’t have to load each page separately. This works great if your pages are all the similar in width, but there’s a very likely chance that if you load mixed-width pages, the narrower ones will go in crooked and not scan right. For example, you can’t really load a full-page invoice along with a few receipts; they’ll need to be loaded in separate scan batches. My other receipt scanner had 3 paper guide slots for the same batch of paper to be scanned; one with moveable guides for various-width documents like invoices, one fixed-width slot for most receipts and one fixed-width slot for business cards. This worked great for loading a stack of various-width documents (into the various slots). This is not a deal-breaker for the Epson, but it does make it a tad more cumbersome when you have a stack of paper to scan since you really need to group the pages by width rather than just loading the stack and pressing “scan.” The touch screen is large and easy enough to navigate in general. Back to my other scanner which also had a touch screen; albeit half the size of the Epson’s. That other scanner would display a preview of each scanned page right on the screen before sending it to its final destination (PC, cloud, etc.). You could estimate if the scan was clear enough, rotate the scan, delete pages that you didn’t need, and choose options like grouping all of the pages into a single document or keeping them as separate documents. It was really convenient to be able to do that on the scanner rather than waiting for the scanned pages to appear in the software on your computer or mobile device first. With this Epson scanner, that big display is used only for choosing menu options. It would have been great to have an on-screen preview, too. Another thing about about the touch screen; it is recessed quite a bit behind a thick bezel. I’m sure the engineers didn’t think twice about it, and the menu designers were not aware that their menus would be presented on a screen like this. The bezel makes it more difficult than necessary to press on-screen buttons that are located in the corners or edges of the display like the “Home” button in the top-left corner. Again, not a deal-breaker, but is evidence that the teams who made this scanner didn’t really get in the same room together to ensure that it all worked together well once assembled. While this may sound like I don’t think this Epson scanner is good - quite the opposite! The main feature set is very impressive. The scans it produces are fast, clear and easy to get into any application or onto any device you need. It doesn’t take up a lot of desk space and can handle just about anything you want to throw at it. None of the suggested improvements are deal-breakers, but they are something that the prospective buyer should be aware of.

PROs: - Fast single- and dual-sided scanning (<1 sec @ 300 dpi; ~2-3 sec @ 600 dpi) without needing to flip any papers manually - Ultra-deep feeder slot handles ~100 papers from letter-sized documents down to skinny cash register receipts even when document sizes are mixed together - Full-color screen allows super-easy wireless network setup (less than 2 minutes!) without needing to use a USB cable (though one is still included--nice!) connected to a host PC--and this scanner plays nicely with faster 5Ghz WiFi channels as well as slower 2.4Ghz wireless network connections - Multiple "scan-to" options provide a host of flexible and useful network and app-based destinations for scanned documents: Save as (including saving the documents to image or PDF formats), e-mail attachment, Google Drive, Dropbox, Evernote, financial/receipt management; print; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneDrive...you can even scan to a USB drive attached to the port on the back of the scanner and never have to fire up your PC at all - Small desktop footprint, about 12" wide by 9" deep with the upper tray guides extended - Included OCR integration quickly created editable MS Office documents or PDFs from scanned papers; accuracy hovered at 98-99% when scanning at 600 dpi - Invoice/receipt management software intelligently and automatically extracted relevant details (vendor, taxes, total price, suggested classifications, payment method, etc.) from scanned receipts to aid in document naming/storage/organization--preview window even lets you correct OCR'd text and numbers to support searchable PDFs and proper metadata associated with each document - Epson has finally managed to create a VERY low-drag (3.7MB total memory usage and CPU usage <1% at idle) Windows process for monitoring/receiving scanner data without needing a taskbar icon and constant nag alert letting the user know that the scanner is otherwise ready for action--this constant UI notification that the scanner is ready for scanning was something I loathed about the otherwise outstanding Epson FastFoto FF-680W - Includes PC and Mac license keys for Kofax Power PDF...as a LONG-TIME user of Adobe Acrobat Pro for work, I can say with at least a modicum of authority that the Power PDF program easily competes with Adobe's native app on just about any feature/dimension of relevance save for deep Adobe ecosystem workflows and form creation options--home and small business/office users are getting a heck of a bargain having a full-fledged PDF reader/creator/markup tool included with this scanner - Workflow is very efficient; so long as your PC is on before you start scanning, you can use the "Computer" button on the scanner's LCD display to scan documents to your PC unattended without having to manually open an app on the computer first. This workflow/integration can save a LOT of time if you have a stack of receipts/documents you've gathered together as you DON'T have to make separate trips to the PC to make sure a particular program is open and ready to receive the scans, then head over to the scanner to load your documents, then come back over to the PC to press a scan button in some software program, wait for the scans, and then save/manipulate the results...very nice! - Included ScanSmart financial and accounting options/integration is top-notch for a scanner that works this well at this price-point; once you select "Manage invoices/receipts" from the Action menu, you have additional options to import the scanned document and/or its contents into QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, save as a native Quicken File, a TurboTax File, a CSV file for reading via spreadsheet or database program, or just save the result as a simple image file. These additional options/capabilities dramatically raise the value proposition of this scanner for anyone who wants to capture or manipulate the data contained within invoices and receipts, and not just retain a scan of the document itself (FWIW, these same financial options require an additional purchase for the otherwise virtually identical Epson ES500W II scanner software suite) - Like other Epson scanner offerings in this class, the RapidReceipt RR-600W also includes the Presto! BizCard 6 business card scanner/organizer program. We didn't really need or want this application per se; but given that the target demographic is the home office/small business user, it's nice that Epson included something that does such a thorough job of very neatly and intuitively organizing business card contacts...definitely a nice addition if you have/manage a lot of professional contacts CONs: - Like all other Espon scanners using this form factor, the scanner starts out small but unfolds to occupy much more desktop real estate with the document catcher and feeder trays fully extended--plan on needing a good 2 feet of space from back to front for ease of use and access to all paper ports, trays, guides and holders - We also have the Epson FastFoto FF-680W and WorkForce ES-500W II scanners in the house; for each of these models, the top of the scanner folds over the hood to protect the document feeder slot and provide an even more streamlined and low-profile design when not in use. The RapidReceipt RR-600W shares the same physical footprint and basic design as those scanners, but the top feeder assembly snaps into place and remains upright and open to the elements at all times (comparison photo attached below). I assume this has something to do with the LCD display, but we really liked the way the other Epson scanners folded up for added protection of the scanner and roller elements, and to be as unobtrusive as possible while not in use - Scanner integration with Power PDF could be a bit more seamless and idiot-proof, especially if you're using the scanner in the wireless configuration. For example, there were 4 scanner options to choose from in my instance of Power PDF: 2 TWAIN drivers and 2 WIA drivers. I couldn't find any documentation on the Epson website that specifically addressed optimal Power PDF configuration, but after getting a driver error using the TWAIN_64 RR-600W driver, I tried the regular TWAIN driver and Power PDF recognized the scanner immediately when I went to create a PDF from documents waiting in the feeder slot. Your mileage may vary, but some help files or FAQ entries on the Epson website specifically addressing Power PDF would have been appreciated - Once again, I am somewhat puzzled by Epson's inclusion of a scanning resolution setting that far exceeds the optical capabilities of the scanner--specifically, you can select an option in the scanning settings for 1200 dpi, but the optical/hardware resolution of the scanner is still limited to 600 dpi. This creates a false sense of greater resolution/potential detail retrieval than the scanner is physically capable of delivering, and the resultant scan will end up being MUCH bigger than would otherwise be necessary at the 600 dpi optical maximum. I suppose having a 1200 dpi software-interpolated scan is useful for line art or other document types where jagged edges are undesirable, but those would only really only be an issue if your printer/output device could also handle such high resolution. In general, this is probably not a use case that applies to many people with small/home office scanning needs. This isn't a dig so much as a caution--people inadvertently selecting the 1200 dpi setting thinking they're getting higher-quality scans (maybe for better OCR performance?) are doing little more than ensuring that resultant receipt and document scans eat up more hard disk/storage space than necessary Bottom line: Although we have two other Epson scanners at home that share virtually the same design/footprint, the addition of the LCD display and the PDF and financial software capabilities and integrations easily make this fast, highly accurate, flexible and pretty user-friendly scanner our go-to for pretty much all our scanning needs now. Setup on the PC was fairly straightforward and took about 20 minutes total including software and driver download from Epson, a function check/test scan, firmware update, and device registration with Epson. The ability to initiate scans and execute multiple scanning actions from the scanner itself (including maintenance and adjusting device settings) via the onboard LCD touchscreen display make this unit far more flexible than those dependent on an attached PC to access and configure more advanced scanner settings and workflows. Scanning speeds in color and B&W fell in line with other Epson scanners in this class (<1 second at lower DPI settings to about 2.5 - 3 seconds at higher quality settings)--and the dual-sided scanning capability is incredibly handy as it greatly reduces the amount of trips necessary to the scanner for single or multiple jobs of mixed media types/sizes. Add in the intelligent financial management, OCR and PDF creation/editing functions and capabilities and this scanner makes for a heck of a data and document management solution that is going to be hard to beat at this size and price point. DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED!

The Epson Rapid Receipt RR-600W has been an amazing addition to my home office. I work for a non profit and most of my work is done from home. This scanner has enabled me to scan receipts and documents to export to Quickbooks. It has easy to follow instructions, setup is quick and understandable with minimal effort. First I set up wireless, downloading the app on my smartphone and software on the computer. The touchscreen on the scanner is easy to use, clear to read and makes setup uncomplicated. The buttons and instructions are easy to follow. I’m able to scan double sided documents with easy and without having to then the paper over. This saves lots of time. The scanned document is quickly sent so I can export data. Overall, this scanner has been an amazing addition to my desk. It saves time, is easy to use and gets the job done. EPSON hit this out of the ballpark with this model and I’m so glad to have this. Everything Epson puts out is good stuff, but this is truly exceptional as scanners go. Okay my situation is that my wife is a “piler” and piles of paper have been an issue for us. Truly stuff that is needed to keep but we are out of space in our little house. So what to do. Has been trying to photograph each piece of paper but space to store is high and quality is not good enough to keep and email/print/review later if needed. Here comes this scanner. Wow! Double sided color and auto convert to pdf, with a 100 sheet auto feeder that works like the pros have. Yes, this is pro grade! Wow! The display is a touch screen that works as good as your cell phone touch screen. And looks awesome so no squinting to see. There are like a million features in this that will take me some time to fully implement but the software is a powerful addition to this powerful scanner. Expenses can be documented easily and imported into excel or financial software. There is a $200 software program that is included with this and is like Adobe but better. I’ve got to say, this is something you need if you have expense reports to do, if you are or have a paper piler in your house, or if you would simply like to get rid of paper when there are things you need to keep, or if you love tech products. This is so full of options and ways to save your scans, only thing missing is to directly scan to iCloud. This supports many other cloud storage options like Dropbox, google, and one drive. Epson connect, a free service, will send emails to wherever you want with the scans attached, as pdf’s, if you have trouble setting up email scanning. Or you can scan from your smartphone (free app) to your iCloud storage or to your phone. So many options! Honestly, this is a much bigger solution than you would think. Scanners have a place in our lives but we just don’t realize it. Old photos can be scanned so easily now, just one more thing you can do. The scanner is smaller than you think, but bigger in terms of features than you could imagine. And I’m missing a lot but if I rambled on you’d be reading about it all day. Try it, use Bestbuy’s generous return policy if you don’t agree but once you see and use this you’ll realize the value of this.

Very bad scanner it’s bad choice to buy this not recommended

I have been searching for a scanner that is easy to setup as well as easy to use. The scanner came well packaged to protect against damage in shipment. The instructions provide were easy to follow and the software you download is very user friendly. I use a MacBook and most hardware you purchase is not compatible with them. This scanner is not only compatible but it works very well with them. The scanner was also very easy to setup the wireless feature according to the directions. Literally it took about 5 minutes to get it out of the box and setup and fully functioning. I use a scanner to put in my receipts for my small business. Within minutes of taking it out of the box I was scanning in my receipts. It has a nice size touch screen that you can choose where to send your scanned documents or whatever you are scanning to. The options include your computer, iCloud, as well as a thumb drive. My favorite feature on this scanner is the ability to input data and integrate it with quick books which is a huge time saver for me. The Epson RR-600W is a fantastic space saving scanner designed to quickly scan in documents and receipts with the touch of an on screen button to many different locations, either via USB or your wireless network with ease. Setting up the Epson RR-600W was very simple, with easy to follow instructions on the bright and clear 4” LCD touch screen. Initial setup was a breeze, inputting date and time settings were easy and clear to set. To connect to Wifi, you do need to go into the settings, and configure the network settings. In my case, the scanner found my wifi network and I just needed to enter the wifi key. Once done, you have the option to register with Epson Connect services, which appeared to be required before you can scan to cloud services. In the case you do not want to scan wirelessly, Epson does include a USB cable to directly connect to a computer, as well as including the ability to scan to a USB flash drive. I tried both scanning via Wifi and via USB to computer, both were simple and easy to do. USB to PC scanning did require the download of the Espon software from Epson’s website, and setup of that software was quick and easy, and included registration of the scanner. When it comes to the operation of the scanner, the Automatic Document Feeder holds approximately 100 pages to be scanned, however I never found the need to batch scan so many any a time. At a rate of 70 pages per minute (in monochrome), this is no slouch. The ability to place a stack of receipts and send them directly to Google Drive has been such a time save. That feature is very handy if you find yourself expensing invoices to your employer. The duplex feature makes scanning double sided documents a breeze, a quick scan and both sides of your document appear in your chosen location. Duplexing options should just be standard nowdays, so kudos on that. There are plenty of options within scanning to get your document to easily be legible, regardless of how the original document appears. Black text on red background, no problem! The Epson ScanSmart software, which is included via download with the Epson RR-600W allows for automatic text extraction, as well as searchable PDFs. The ability to search scanned documents presents an even greater value, especially when scanning very important documents that may need to be referenced. For any of us that have had to manually comb through a scanned document for verbiage, this comes as a welcome. The receipt scanning portion of the software will also read the receipt for information like retailer, purchase cost, and date of purchase, among other things, again, making things much easier to keep purchases organized in a clean and simple way. You can also import receipts and expenses into Quickbooks, TurboTax and Quicken! A license is provided for Kofax PowerPDF for Windows or Mac for PDF manipulation. Presto! Bizcard 7 is also provided for simplifying the scanning and organization of business cards, another great function of the scanner. You can’t go wrong with the Epson RR-600W scanner. From speed, to scan quality, to fantastic OCR, this checks all my boxes for a great space saving document and receipt scanner. Epson Rapid receipt scanner 600W The Epson RapidRecipt RR-600W is a full duplex recipt scanner. Epson includes Epson Smart scan software that can scan, file, OCR, and export captured images and OCR data to many financial software including Quickbooks, Quicken, Turbotax, Excel and CSV files. You can also use the included Kofax PowerPDF software to edit and convert any scanned file to PDF and then edit it or export it to Word or Excel. The PowerPDF software is powerful in itself with many editing and conversion features for all the PDF’s you already have you can even make the scanned PDF searchable. You can scan up to 100 pages at a time using the automatic document feeder. The feeder will accommodate paper up to 8.5 inches wide and up to 240 inches long! The scanner has automatic cropping, blank page deletion, background removal, dirt detection, paper skew correction and staple protection. The scanner will work with windows 7,8 and 10 as well as Mac OS X 10.11 to 10.15. This Compact (11.6" x 6.7" x 6.6") desk scanner is fast rated at 30ppm and can scan both sides at the same time. The scanner weighs in at 8.2 lb. The Smart scan software will suggest file names based on text it finds in the documents you scan saving time when scanning a lot of documents. Using the invoice manager you can Scan, review, combine, duplicate, OCR and Edit and Export your scanned receipts. The receipt management software is free to use with no cost or subscription fees. As for connectivity this scanner is wireless and will connect to 2.4 and 5 GHZ wireless routers or access points meaning you have no wires and can place it almost anywhere. It does have USB 3.0 connectivity if no wireless is available. In fact you don’t even need a computer, you can scan documents directly to a USB stick using the large 4.3 inch LCD control panel to control the scanner. You can also scan to cloud storage like Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox or Evernote. If you don't like Epson's bundled scanning software use your own it is easy with the included Twain driver. Epson has made a solid product. The software is really good although they have relied on third parties this is better in that it allows you to use all your scanning devices and there is no limitation on connectivity. You are also not tied to Epson only software but rather using companies who do OCR, PDF and Business card scanning well. The Scanner was easy and fast to set up, The software and drivers installed and updated without any problems. I was up and scanning in about 10 minutes. My wife thanks Epson for helping me remove piles of documents, receipts, printed instruction manuals and various other paper documents from my cluttered office! If you need a way to convert your piles of paper into digital documents that are even editable and searchable or track your receipts for tax or budgeting this is a great tool to have.

My husband and I constantly have to scan documents to our computer and phones. We used to use a very old all-in-one printer which had a scanner tray, but this scanner was slow and could not connect to our network. This scanner fixes all that in spades. First, it scans at an alarmingly fast rate, so fast in fact, that my husband jumped thinking he had broken something when the scanner almost literally spit the test document out at him. He was very much impressed and loaded up several pages and had the scanner scan both sides. This barely slowed the scanner down at all. In a matter of seconds both front and back scans of 6 documents were available on his phone. My husband said he was able to connect to the scanner fairly quickly using his phone and getting the scans using the Epson Smart Panel app. It will show you a preview of the document and the current rotation. You can easily rotate the document with the click of a button and change resolution and color. The touchscreen on the scanner is also easily traversed. It is very responsive and all the icons are easy to understand. There has been no haptic issues that we noticed. The only issue we had might have been user error. When we downloaded the driver and setup software, it said it had completed but, we couldn’t scan directly to the computer. Resetting the scanner didn’t do anything and neither did resetting the computer. My husband decided to try installing the drivers again and after installation, it went through a setup the hadn’t happened during the first installation. After that, the computer and scanner were working together perfectly. If you scan documents constantly and want a fast reliable scanner, then this will work perfectly for you. I love tis scan is easy to use, the image is perfect, you can use wirless and link with your table, computer or telephone, the RR-600W is touchscreen, this scan makes easy my job, is super fast scan stacks of invoices, documents and receips in diferent sizes, is digital and you have a guarantee from a good brand like Epson that you are buying a very high quality product, this scanner will help you organize paperwork receipts and invoices. The initial setup on my Mac was very easy after downloading the required drivers from Epsons website. The touchscreen on the scanner made it very easy to enter my WiFi setting since it includes a QWERTY keyboard on the touchscreen for typing. Setting up EpsonConnect is not so straight forward, it took a few tries before I got it working. But once setup, scanning to the Cloud option is extremely useful to scan documents and email them directly to someone or to save them to a cloud destination (see Add Destination image below). The included Epson software ScanSmart is very intuitive to use. I scanned over 50 pictures at 1200 DPI and it took less than 5 minutes from start to finish. Also the ability to scan 2 sided documents at one time makes scanning extremely fast. It even deletes blank pages so if your originals are double sided on some pages and singles on others your PDF won't include blank pages, unless you want it to. You have the option to save your scanned documents to Word so you can edit them. The included OCR is extremely accurate. ScanSmart also has a feature to scan receipts. After scanning the receipts the software tries to read the date, vendor, total and then allows you to categorize the receipts. Then you have the ability to export the data to Quicken, Quickbooks, TurboTax, CSV or an image file. This is a great help if you want to digitize all of your receipts to keep track of your purchases. If you have entered the vendor and date of the receipt when saving the image it will automatically add that information to the file name to make it easy to find later. Also, if you use Quicken or Quickbooks to manage your finances, ScanSmart allows you to import your vendors, classifications, pay accounts and methods to make it easier to manage your data. The scanner also includes a USB slot on the back so you can plug in any USB flash drives or hard drives and scan directly to the device. This is very useful when scanning a lot of old documents or photos and you are going to process the files later. I do not like that the USB slot is on the back which makes it harder to get to. Also there does not appear to be an option to eject the flash drive when done. After a few days of using this scanner I have it say it far exceeded my expectations. It is extremely easy to use and very fast at scanning documents and pictures. I am very, very pleased with this scanner. I have worked with all-in-one (AIO) Cannon, HP, & Epson scanners in the past & found Epson’s scanner to be the fastest, but clunky with Mac software. The RR-600W is my first use of a dedicated scanner & it has left be with a huge positive impression. I have scanned hundreds of documents in the past & this has converted hours into minutes of work. First, unlike every AIO I have worked with, this can use 5GHz wifi, drastically increasing speed. Second…Duplex scanning is a huge timesaver…no sorting, & no speed loss. I can use the touchscreen to select the applicable computer to upload to & the computer can handle dumping massive amounts of documents of many standard sizes to include receipts up to legal format, & it does it automatically. Epson designed their own management software, but included Kofax Power PDF for both Windows & Mac as an option. I import using epson to a folder, & you can target that folder with any software you want. The scan speed is terrific…it feeds as fast as dropping a sheet on the floor. Overall, I am greatly impressed & this is definitely worth every penny if you do even a moderate amount of scanning. The Epson RR-600W is a wireless receipt and document scanner that will allow you to quickly and easily scan in receipts and documents and organize them with the included software package. I have been using an Epson document scanner for a while now and I have grown to love it, however, mine only does one page at a time and it a portable version and must be connect via USB. This however, changes all of that. It is a full-size document scanner that can hold multiple documents in its auto feeder. The internal rollers remind me of the scanners that we have at work that handle multiple scans all the time. Installing the scanner was quite simple, just plug it into power, set the date and time and install the software onto your pc and it will assist with setting it up. It will walk you though setting up onto your wireless network (I have 802.11AX) and how to connect your online cloud storage solutions such as Google Drive, DropBox, OneDrive and Evernote. You are also provided with a USB cable to connect the scanner directly to a PC as well. I used the wireless method and had zero issues with it. The scanner has a 4” large bright and responsive touch screen that is easy to use and well laid out. You can perform your scanning functions from this screen as well as set up preferences. Scan to a computer, Network Folder / FTP, Email, cloud, Memory Device (USB stick), or WSD. When you select a scan source, you can then select either Single sided or double sided. The double-sided scanning will automatically ignore the blank side of paper and I use this feature all the time. The scan feeder will hold up two 100 sheets of paper and scan double-sided at a speed of 35 pages per minute according to Epson. The most I tried was 70 pages and it always scanned without a hitch. I was able to create searchable PDF’s, which means I could go back later and search for a key word and it would search and display the word every spot it was found. The Epson ScanSmart Accounting Edition software also can link up with accounting software such as QuickBooks or Quicken for easy management of expenses. I hardly every give a product 5 stars, but this scanner really earns it. I highly recommend this for anyone with a small business or if they have a lot of receipts, invoices, or documents they want to back up and convert to digital archives, the price is a bit steep, but this is a powerful scanner and if you compare it to the scanners that I have at my work that do similar functions, this is a steal.

Good speed/throughput with nice resolution choices. Double sided skips blank sheet backs. Receipts feed well without always adjusting guides, and if somewhat askew, straightens the image. Size fits among other desktop devices, makes it reasonably portable to an alternate site if needed. Connects smoothly to network for use. Initial software setup worked, but a bit ‘in the dark’ regarding milestones in the load. Best Buy staff reasonably knowledgeable regarding this less than common item. Price was better than competing local stores.

I received the RR-600W scanner and it arrived very well packaged, I used it for less than a week and I already scanned several receipts and documents that I had in disorder. And it was very easy to configure it is small it fits well on my desktop. The scanner has made my work days easier with my receipts and documents since I work from home because I have a small company and the scanner is my main work tool. The resolution is fabulous and the speed and it can also be scanned from your smartphone and computer quickly and easily. This scanner is very practical and is exactly what is needed at home, it is very easy to configure both the scanner, as well as the wireless connection, it has a large touch screen 2 inches high by 4 inches wide, on this screen you can you can adjust its brightness, background color, sleep timer, and other scan settings. It does a great job on all kinds of documents, whether it's color, black / white, or grayscale. If you are looking to scan receipts, scan many of them as this scanner makes high quality scans of many documents at once and even those of different sizes, this is the ability to scan two pages at a time and its speed. Best of all, you don't have to worry about handling USB keys all the time. This is my second scanner from Epson and although I thought my first one was the bees knees, this one is much better. The scanner itself has a small footprint and sets up very easily. I plugged it in, set it up, downloaded the drivers and software and I was up and running. The scanning speeds are so fast that I was shocked that it had not only scanned it correctly, without errors but the clarity was impressive at 300 DPI. The included software is definitely a much appreciated bonus. There are two included software programs. One is for organizing business cards and the other is for organizing receipts. The receipt software is primarily why I got this. The software reads the receipts and identifies the date, retailer and amount for you automatically. It isn’t 100% accurate but it’s been pretty good so far. You can then export the files to accounting software, to cloud services or a thumb drive which is inconveniently located on the back of the scanner. This is a great little powerhouse for us and I would certainly recommend it to anyone. The color touch screen is very responsive, even with my big mitts.

The Epson RR-600W comes in a package with a simple quick start manual. Setting up was straightforward - I installed the recommended drivers and had the scanner connected to my wireless network in no time. The scanner comes with the Epson ScanSmart Accounting edition which also includes receipt scanning (more on that shortly). The first thing I like to do after I get a new device is to make sure that the firmware and software is up to date. This is easily done using the “Epson Software Updater” application. Since the scanner is wireless, I was able to remotely update the firmware on the scanner. I love that I did not have to use usb or other wired connections to connect to the scanner! The scanner has a very easy to use touch screen interface and allowed me to scan documents without having to use the software. I first started by scanning around 300 receipts and invoices. The scanner was incredibly fast and no documents got stuck during the scanner process! Using the ScanSmart software and all my receipts were recognized using Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and organized in a very easy to read layout. I did have to go and fix some of the OCR text for some of the receipts. This was very easy to do using the software. There were some receipts that were scanned upside down. I had to rescan them to fix this. Instead it would be great for a rotate feature ( I could not figure out how to do this). Since this is a duplex scanner, I did not have to go back to flip documents to scan the back side. A very handy feature that saves a lot of time. Another super awesome feature is the ability to scan directly to a USB device! This is great if you are in a hurry and want to quickly scan some documents and take it with you on a USB. I used this to scan some invoices - the scanner will automatically convert these to PDFs and store on the USB. I absolutely love this feature! Overall this is an excellent scanner with an easy to use touch interface, scan to USB feature, wireless connectivity as well as a receipt scanning ability. Epson continues to excel with their powerful easy to use line of scanners.
