    the radar detection wasn't far. I tested it on one of those radar units on the side of the road. I could see it before it even detects it. It would false alarm like crazy whenever I passed a higher end car with adaptive cruise control or some sort that uses a radar signal. I traded this in and got a Uniden R3 and its way better at detecting and not giving me false alarms like the escort did.

    I recently upgraded to the iX from the Passport 8500 that I had for a long time, and this detector is great. The built-in GPS and bluetooth to connect to the Escort app makes it super easy to use, and I get alerts from at least a mile away from the Ka band, sometimes even further. I'd highly recommend it, especially if you can get it on sale like I did.

    Was recommended to this item by a friend, decided to buy it for myself right before a major road trip I went on. Having prior speeding tickets in the past, I was glad to have this on the trip because it saved me a few times. Loud volume so you can still hear an alert over your music, and alerts you in plenty of time to slow down. Well worth the money
