Overall Great - But Size Small is very Misleading

We purchased a small for me and large for my fiance. The Large fits him perfectly, but this small is more for a child unless you have such small/skinny wrists like that of child this is difficult to wear. I have always bought a small bracelet/watches etc. all my life. So I figured this small would work for me. Not so. I had to have it in the second to the last notch with one notch left to put the tab band into it. Basically you can't wear this on that notch and secure it so then the tab band always comes off and the band itself will stick out. So after long debate back and forth whether I should keep or take back, I took it back today. I cannot wear this comfortably any tighter and also wear where they suggest while exercising in the 3rd notch from the end of the band. So if you're debating make sure you have a tiny wrist to accommodate the band size. It says the band is 6.5" inches but my wrist is 6 1/4 inches and it did not work. I am now opting for a size Large - not the ideal solution as that has way too much band for my wrist but what else can you do when FitBit doesn't make a medium size? I've already notified them of the issue. By the talk on their website - so have many others. Soooo..after that one bad thing for me - I'd say this is definitely a go to for an accurate sleep, HR, step recording fit band. We had a FitBit Flex and changed over to this one. I thought it would look too big on my wrist but got used to it (again will have to see how I like the bulk of the extra band - but possibly can modify it after a while to fit appropriately. It doubles as a watch which I like because I no longer have to have to wear a watch. It also has a stop watch and you can record various exercises. We've looked at a lot of them and even with some issues that FitBit seems to have it still is one of the best out there. We were thinking of a Gear Fit but it only works with Samsung phones, and even though that is what we have didn't want to be locked into that forever. The charging is a little cumbersome being that it takes the entire band to charge. No little battery like on the Flex. We bought a multiple charger now to handle just our FitBits and phones. Over all this is an excellent product for someone wanting to do everything that is possible on this FitBit. Only thing I caution you on is sizing for small - maybe they'll come out with a a medium soon - I sure hope so because it would be beneficial - either that or extend the small's band so it can be worn comfortably by small wrists.

I bought this as a gift for an overseas friend without first insuring that charging cable was included in the sealed box. Best buy customer service indicated that they would make things right by allowing me to return item to store after the 30 day return policy. I'll be flying to south America to pick up the incomplete fitbit in a couple of weeks and then returning to the store in early June to return it. Stay tuned..!

Good fitness tracker with a few quirks

I won't go over the details of the functionality as many other reviewers has already covered it. But I will go over a few things/quirks I've noticed about the Charge HR after using it for 5 days. 1. Step count is overly sensitive. I went to bed and woke up, and already logged 200 steps! This happened every night. I'm sure I toss and turn when sleeping, but shouldn't it detect that I'm sleeping and not log any steps? Also, throughout the day, the step count is way higher than it should be. I am comparing it to the iPhone, and the Fitbit Surge I got 2 days ago. The Surge is much more accurate (closer to my iPhone Health app step count). Oh, and the Surge only logged 30 steps in my sleep. 2. HR monitor during intensive workouts is not accurate. This has been brought up by other reviewers. I go to bootcamp classes 4x a week, and workouts consist of movements like burpees, jumping jacks, air squats, pull ups, along with various weight exercises. At times I would check my HR in the middle of my workout and see a -- instead of an actual #. This causes my workout summary to be less accurate than it should. Even when I'm dead tired and feel maxed out, my HR was only at 150. I have yet to reach a HR in the Peak Zone (155 or above for my age range) So the HR accuracy during intense workouts is a little suspect. 3. I wish there was an option to always leave the display on. This would be esp useful during workouts. But you have to press the button to get your reading, and it always starts with the duration of the workout, so I have to press the button twice to get my HR. I want to monitor the HR during my workout by just looking at my wrist wout the need to press the button. 4. The double tap feature to see the display is very finicky. It works when it wants to. I'm still giving it 4 stars. Overall, it works well. I'm hopeful that a software update will fix the few quirks. I do like the other features it has, and I love tracking my workout intensity, even if it's 100% accurate. I'm still on the trail period of both the Charge HR and Surge. I do like the Surge more right now, but it's so bulky. The Charge HR fits better on my super skinny wrists.

    Still needs work on software

This product did everything it said it claimed to do, but it had some glitches. It was a great fitness tracker and recorded data very well witch has always been one of Fitbit's strong categories. The caller ID feature had some glitches since it did not work every time I got a call but never caused me to miss one. The heart rate was accurate but had some lag to it. The syncing was also very difficult because it only liked to sync on its own and not when you tell it to. I feel this product has just been released and could still have some software issues that could be fixed. I returned mine to upgrade to the Fitbit Surge for only $100 more dollars to take advantage of some of the extra features. I would defiantly recommend this product to someone who is new to the fitness band market since it has very accurate features but doesn't focus on one excursive.

    great upgrade from the flex

I used the FitBit Flex for over a year before deciding to upgrade. Black Friday came around with an awesome sale, so I chose to go with the Charge HR. I'm very happy with it! The wristband has a belt-like watch band which I like much more than the snap closure on the Flex and the basic Charge model. The heart rate monitor helps with calorie counting as it's a bit more accurate as to how active you are. The vibrating alarms are also really useful beyond just waking up in the morning, to use throughout the day as reminders. And of course, like all fitbit products, the app is amazing - challenging friends is a great motivational tool with the app playing cheerleader for everyone throughout the day! I'm very happy with this model; only downside is the battery life only seems to last about 4 days.

I really liked this item but soon I found it was not what I was looking for. I think the team member was just interested in getting the sale. So this left me unhappy! I had to purchase and return 3 fitbits until I was satisfied with the altia. I explained everything I was looking for and I don't think he was listening. It may be get for you but it wasn't the best fit for me.

    Just a few glitches

It works as promised and I've worn it every day but one, when I forgot and left it charging, since I bought it. I've had no skin problems under it and I'm allergic to everything. The only reason I can't give a 5-star review is because it sometimes takes a long time to sync, it doesn't always sync well with other apps, and the heart rate monitor is touchy. I can't wear it on the inside of my wrist, like I would like, and it has to be positioned just right to get a proper reading. It is definitely not a medical grade monitor. Don't use it for anything other than a simple exercise tool to assist in reaching target heart rates and monitoring recovery times.

Loved everything about it until about 3 days into wearing it my wrist started hurting as if it were bruised. Wasn't too tight, was caused by the heart rate sensors. Looked at other reviews and saw a lot of others that it was happening to also. Returned it sadly.
