I love this tracker!!!! It is easy to set up and use! :) It is also very motivating!!!!! So glad I decided to buy it. I don't get the full 5 days of battery out of it, but I am assuming the 5 days may be depending on how often you sync it with the app, but I am not 100% sure. I find myself walking around the house and going up and down the stairs just to meet my goals when I see that I am a little behind/short on steps. I love the fact that I can connect the fitbit app with my some of my other health/exercise/food logs/trackers so that everything will be aligned and match. I also love the heart rate monitor and the information that is available to me about my sleep patterns and behaviors. I definitely recommend this product. I just purchased two more...one for my mom and the other for my step mom! :) I also love the challenges within the app itself, but I do wish that they had more challenges.

I got this as a early fathers day/birthday present. I really wanted to start slowly getting into shape, and I figured lets see how much I move a day. This does it all. I love how it monitors my steps, but I also like the HR, stairs and sleep features. My only bad thing I can think of is taking it off everytime you get a shower. Fitbit says it can get wet (ie rain, sweat) but its not waterproof. And also needs charged alot. Maybe every 4 days (but charges in a hour or so). Definitely a great buy.

Ease of operation and works perfectly with my Samsung Note 3. Integrates with my company's wellness program which provides a significant discount as I increase my activity and health; it has already paid for itself. Allows me to monitor heart rate and sleep effectively, & big surprise was the water intake tracker as it really opened my eyes to my hydration issues. IF I were to improve it I guess I'd make it waterproof, but so far that hasn't been a concern for me.

Great, reliable & comfortable fitness tracker. The HR works very well during activities, and is very accurate for resting. Seeing my steps motivates me to want to push for more each day. Plus the FitBit app is one of the easiest to use. In the past 2-3 years, I've purchased over 7 FitBits for myself and family members. Two Thumbs Up for sure. I wish the battery lasted a little longer and that it was waterproof, but overall, my wife and I love our devices.

Its good to see things like sleep, calories, heart rate, steps, etc. I use the Fitbit app on my phone and I can get into challenges with my wife and even someone I go to school with. Easy to use, easy to follow. Fitbit gives you a calorie counter goal for weight loss, but I havent tried to use anything with that. Instead I use MyFitnessPal, which works in unison with the Fitbit. Overall, it lets me see many different things through the day.

The Fitbit Charge HR is everything I had hoped it would be. I wear it all the time (except when showering and when it is charging). It is comfortable, unobtrusive, easy to use and accurate enough for my needs. I wear it in the same location regardless of whether I am exercising or just going about my normal activities. During exercise mode the heart rate monitor is responsive to changes in my heartrate and, based on other sensors I use, quite accurate. It does a really good job of tracking my sleep... accurately determining sleep start/end. It is a little hard to read in direct sunlight. It sometimes tracks too many steps when I am riding my lawn tractor over rough terrain. It is very accurate on floor counting. Charge normally lasts about 5 days including about a day after you get the low battery warning. It takes about 1.5 hours to charge. Updates between my phone and computer are seamless (great website). I would not use the available USB device for your computer though if you tend to have your phone active while near it (I think it causes a conflict and may make the computer's USB ports unresponsive). I chose the Charge HR over the Surge because of cost, size and features (I don't need the GPS). Overall great device.

Most of the time I start with the good, end with the negative. I'm going to change it up. So, the two main things that bother me are that the charging plug doesn't fit snug after about a month. I have to be careful when I set it down to charge that it's actually charging. The other issue I have is that the loop that holds the excess band past the buckle is A) hard to get over and off the band, and B) it's made of the same rubbery material as the rest of the band and often pulls the hair out of my arm. As for performance, it is very accurate on steps. I feel like the estimated calorie burn is higher than it should be, specifically during sleep. Maybe it is accurate, but if it is, it seems unbelievable, and I should be sleeping more. It also seems low on calorie tracking during cardio and/or strength workouts, so if you workout daily, perhaps they offset. The heart rate monitor is right on the money when it's actually tracking, but it often loses track of where it's at when I'm working out. For the most part, though, I like this much better than the Nike+ Fuel Band it replaced. It's nice having an actual calorie count instead of Fuel Points that don't directly relate to anything outside of the Nike world. Oh, and the Fitbit app is fantastic, and keeps getting better all the time. It's nice having all the data from the tracker PLUS the ability to track calorie & water intake and have them interact. Very nice.

This is my second Charge HR. The first was left on a cruise ship and never to be found. I purchased this replacement. I had an issue with the Fitbit battery which was lasting only 2 days. Fitbit replaced it at no charge. I prefer this version of the Fitbit for the HR readout. One feature I like is the sleep display. I also like the tracking of my steps each day. Its comfortable to wear.

I HAVE USED FITBIT ONE, FLEX AND NOW CHARGE HR AND THEY ARE ALL QUITE DIFFERENT. I LIKE THE CHARGE HR BECAUSE IT LETS ME CHECK MY HEART RATE WHERE THE OTHERS DON'T. I CAN ALSO CHECK MY STEPS, STAIRS AND MILES AT A GLANCE WHICH I COULDN'T DO WITH THE FLEX. THE FLEX WAS A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT AND A WASTE OF MONEY. THE CHARGE HR ALSO RECORDS MY SLEEP WITHOUT HAVING TO REMEMBER TO START AND STOP THE DEVICE LIKE THE FITBIT ONE THE CHARGE HR FASTENS TO THE WRIST WHICH IS GOOD AND BAD. IT'S SECURE SO THAT I DON'T LOSE IT BUT, WITH IT FASTENED TO MY WRIST, IT REALLY RACKS UP THE NUMBER OF STEPS TAKEN IN A DAY. I HAVE PROBABLY DOUBLED THE AMOUNT OF STEPS WITH THE CHARGE HR THAN I DID WITH THE FITBIT ONE. EVERY TIME I MOVE MY ARMS WHETHER WALKING OR NOT IT REGISTERS STEPS. I CAN PET MY CAT WHILE SITTING IN A LOUNGE CHAIR AND STEPS REGISTER. AS FAR AS STEPS GO, I FEEL THE FITBIT ONE IS THE MOST ACCURATE BECAUSE IT ATTACHES TO A SHIRT OR BRA AND WILL ONLY REGISTER WHEN YOU ACTUALLY MOVE YOUR TORSO - THE PROBLEM IS IT ISN'T AS SECURE DEPENDING ON HOW YOU MOVE AND DOESN'T RECORD HEART RATE. IF I COULD HAVE A FITBIT ONE THAT WOULD OFFER HEART RATE INFO, THAT WOULD BE MY FIRST CHOICE BUT, SINCE I CAN'T, I SETTLED FOR THE CHARGE HR. IT'S EASY TO READ, FUNCTIONS AS A WATCH, RECORDS HEARTRATE AND KEEPS AUTOMATIC ONLINE SLEEP INFO. I ONLY WISH THE STEPS/MILEAGE WOULD BE MORE ACCURATE.

Wanted to be able to track my steps, but more importantly my heartbeat and sleep. I purchased my 1st Fitbit Charge HR on a Thursday afternoon, got home opened the package only to find that there was no charging cable, took it back to BestBuy, got a 2nd one. This one worked fine, for about 24 hours. After that the Heartbeat sensor stopped working. Then it started to reboot over and over. Took it back to another BestBuy (as I was out of town) picked up my 3rd FitBitCharge HR. This one has been working fine since day one. Heart rate monitor and sleep monitoring have been working great. The app on my iPhone as well as my pc have worked very well, and allowed me to track multiple items, including activity and sleep. The only issue I have with it at this point is how easily the face has picked up scratches. I work on pc's and the FitBit has really picked up a bunch of scratches in just a few weeks. I also wish that the ability to show the time when you twist your wrist up, would be able to be shut off when you are in "sleep" mode. As it is VERY bright and at night it can be like a flashlight. If you want a more technical review there are TONS of those out there. The step count, heart rate, and sleep tracking, have all worked well for me, along with activity tracking and GPS mapping (via my iPhone App) all work very well.

So glad we waited and held out for the FitBit HR. The heart rate tracker provides better accuracy and more information. I recommend spending $50 more for this feature if you are using this for more than a "pedometer". If you are using this to truly give you an accurate gauge for weight loss or fitness, then this is an added benefit you will wish you had at your finger tips. I've always worn the chest strap during work outs - but I love that this gives you an entire picture for the DAY - not just a work out. It also sparks some friendly competition between myself and my husband..."how many steps have you taken today?"...."how many flights of stairs have you climbed?".....We've been known to start climbing stairs and walking around the house at 10:00 at night just so one of us can declare ourselves the champion of the day. Silly as it may sound - at least it got me off the couch and moving at a time of day when I would normally be a couch potato. I am far more conscious of what I eat and my activity letter since I check the dashboard/status on my iPhone throughout the day. And, I am always eager to see my sleep pattern in the a.m. I am hoping to be able to get the scale soon!

Challenge your friends and challenge yourself with the Fitbit Charge HR. This device is accurate with tracking steps, heart rate and sleep patterns. It has been a very helpful device and has facilitated a lot of fun competition. My only slight disappointments are the battery charge doesn't last more than 3 or 4 days and the wrist band isn't sharp looking like some other brands.

I bought the Fitbit charge HR in November for me as an early Christmas present. I started wearing it right away and have been wearing it everyday except for the few hours when I recharge it. It works great. I bought the HR model to watch my heart rate as I had a heart attach 6 years ago and want to make sure my heart rate does not exceed my limit for my age. It also has a feature when you put it in a high active/workout mode to put your heart rate in second position after the time workout so you can easily see what your heart rate is. I like the summary reports which you can access with your smart phone or ipad. After it syncs, you can review the statics to see how you are doing and the progress you are making. You also receive a weekly report via your email, What I look at everyday of particular interest is my sleep record. Also, when you hit 10,000 steps in a day you get a vibration through the fitbit to let you know about your success. You can set goals for yourself. I have done too much of this, though. It seems to be holding-up very well with no problems after wearing constantly for two month.

My wife has a basic fitbit for over 1 year and it has always been reliable and accurate. I recently purchased my youngest son the fitbit charge HR because he "really" wanted one. And anything fitness oriented for him is a go. After seeing some of the features via his iPhone fitbit app, I was intrigued. So I had to get one for myself (I have android) and it is great! The heartbeat monitor is right on (which conflicts with some of the reviews that I read). I have tested it with an exercise bike heart monitor, and a blood pressure cuff monitor, and all 3 are in sync. The steps are a little off, but no issue when walking in the 1000's. The thing that amazes me most is the sleep monitor. I mean it is spot on. Enough to detect when I fall asleep to when I wake up. When I have a restless night, my awake/restless events are up. It even caught me taking a 1.5 hour nap after a previous night's sleep of only 4.5 hours. I haven't started using the calorie counter yet. My youngest son has used that feature and it is causing him to make some better decisions about his eating. I am now only using the heart rate monitor periodically though. Since having it on 24/7 eats up a bit too much battery for me. Without constant heartrate on, I can go at least 3 days between charges. Plus I not longer need a watch.

I bought the Charge HR to ultimately replace my Charge, which is now a year old, and has developed a split between the band and tracker. The HR has a much improved band, and Fitbit has evidently done some work in terms of firmware upgrades to improve the heart rate monitor from the previous year. I would recommend most buyers to opt for the large band, especially for the HR. Instead of measuring for the fit at the point you'd normally wear a watch, measure 3 finger widths above the wrist bone so you have room to adjust it higher during a workout to get optimum heart rate readings. After seeing a number of very negative reviews for the Jawbone UP4, I decided to stay with Fitbit. This band also does a decent job of tracking your sleep unless you want something that will monitor REM cycles and more detailed info -- as Basis does -- but those will cost you another $100+ and won't do as good a job with fitness tracking. Finally, if you're a swimmer, this band is not for you as it is splash resistant, but not waterproof. Overall, I'm please with this purchase and hopeful the band on this one will hold up for more than a year of daily use.

I've had the Fitbit Charge HR for more than half a year and it's great! I've been into step and sleep tracking for a long time and used to need two separate apps on my phone to do it. Since I got the Fitbit it's been a lot more convenient. Step and sleep tracking, along with heart rate, stairs, etc. is automatic and displayed nicely in one app. The display is a major plus for me - I never could get used to wearing a watch everyday before the Fitbit. Besides that, it's fun to see the heart rate tracking and competing with my friends. In fact, I've convinced a few of my friends to get the Charge HR as well. Fitbit has released a couple software updates since I got mine, which added some cool features like turning the wrist to activate the screen (used to have to press the button) and improved call notifications. Granted, the Charge HR isn't the most feature-heavy so it might not be the best solution for everyone, but as a basic all-around fitness tracker, I think it's awesome!

I chose to look at fitbit from a friend referral, and I have been nothing but pleased. There are many features in this version, such as caller ID, date, and clock. Tracks sleep, heart rate, and steps with great accuracy. Only downfall is having to charge it about every 4 days. The flex, which has a lot less features, can go about 8 to 10 before needing charged.

I have had the Charge HR for about 3 weeks. The watch and alarm functions have worked without a hitch. The heart rate monitor is pretty close to my Polar chest strap. The step count is generally good. The stairs function is useless. The readings are way out of whack. This morning the unit registered 17 sets of stairs climbed when I got our of bed. I have totally disregarded the readings. I am not sure that the faulty stair counter isn't also adversely affecting the calorie usage. I understand that they are working on a fix. I like the fact that the HR interfaces with the Weight Watcher app so the upload of my activity is automatic. I have the pulse reading set to auto and only get about 3 days on a battery charge. Generally I am happy with the unit and would recommend with the above caveats.

A Great Fitness Band for the Casual User

This is my first fitness band and I love it. People have to realize is that it's not going to be accurate down to the last step or flight of stairs. But I found that it's pretty consistent over time. I've been wearing it without changing my routine to get a baseline of where I'm at. I'm getting roughly the same step counts, miles, calories, heart rate, etc. every day. To me, this is a good sign because I'll be able to "trust" the new data as I change my routine and not worry that the different measurements are sampling errors. I think that fitness bands like this are best used to track relative improvements, not absolute values. I have the size large although my wrists are about 5.5" in diameter. I wear it on the 3rd notch so a large could probably fit even smaller arms. One thing to note is that while the band size varies between small/large/xlarge, the device itself is the same size. I say this because on smaller wrists like mine, there is a pinky-sized gap where the device ends and the band begins to wrap around my wrist. In other words, if your wrist is smaller than 6" then the band won't be flush around your entire wrist. However, the functional part that measures heart rate does stay flush with my skin and it doesn't slide up and down my arm so I don't have any reduced functionality. It's more of a cosmetic thing in that it looks a little bulky or ill-fitting on smaller wrists. Setup couldn't be easier. The printed documentation that comes with the Charge just gives you the fitbit setup URL. You go to the fitbit website and download the software and it will guide you through connecting your fitbit and setting up an account. The device comes with a USB dongle and charger and for me, everything just worked right out of the box. The Android app is also one of the best fitness tracking apps I've seen. If you are into calorie tracking, you have an extensive database of foods to choose from. All the widgets that display steps, miles, heart rate, etc. are pretty clean and useful. Fitbit does a good job of presenting a large amount of data in a user friendly way. One little nitpick is that some data is only available via the Android app and not in the web app. For example, I can see my heart rate graph on the app, but not via the website. It was also easy to sync via the Android app via Bluetooth. So you have multiple ways to synchronize -- computer or app, both of which are simple. And if you want your raw data to visualize however you like, you can always download it. Battery life has been good -- around the advertised 5 days between charges. Keep in mind that it stores about 30 days worth of data so you don't have to constantly sync with your desktop or phone. I find the sleep tracking to be pretty accurate. I have a infant and so I'm getting up often in the middle of the night for feedings. So I do know exactly when I'm getting up at night and going back to sleep. And so far the Charge is doing a good job of modeling my sleep behavior. Of course, I'm actually getting up and walking to the kitchen or crib which are pretty obvious signals that I'm awake. I don't know how well it tracks something more subtle like someone waking up but staying in bed. I used this band once so far at the gym. It seemed to track pretty well in terms of heart rate and calories burned as what the treadmill and stationary bike was telling me. I do like the fact that you can manually put the band into a "workout mode" by holding down the button. It starts a timer as well as provides your steps, miles, calories, etc. from when you started the workout. Don't worry, your daily stats will still be recorded as normal including the time spent in workout mode. The only thing that changes is the values displayed on the band itself. So you can get quick stats during your workout that are specific to your workout without needing to sync with your app. Pretty cool. Overall, I think the Fitbit Charge HR is a well thought out piece of equipment.
