The Zip Wins over the One

I received a Fitbit One as a gift. It worked well and I would recommend it - but it had to be charged from time to time. The USB charging cord that it came with was specifically designed for the One - nothing else works. It was a nuisance because it either wasn't with me when I needed to charge it or I had to look for it. Finally it was misplaced altogether so I needed a new one. Stores that sell the Fitbit don't sell the charging cord so you have to order it online. The cost: $20. The Zip uses a 3 volt CR 2032 battery that can be found anywhere. So far it has lasted for two months. The Zip doesn't count stairs like the One, but I don't find that to be a limitation. I prefer the extended battery life of the Zip and knowing that I can easily find a replacement battery whereever I am. Also, the Zip is less expensive than the One. $50 less. That buys a lot of batteries.

I use my Fitbit daily to keep track of my walking. It is small and I slide it into my pocket and start walking. I leave it in my pocket for the rest of the day and at the end of the day I check the total results of my daily movement on my iPad.

I am not an athlete, I just wanted something to simply count my steps, and maybe calories, daily. The Fitbit does this.
I like being able to look at the Fitbit website, and compare results on the dashboard; its interesting.
The clip is tight, so I don't have to worry about losing it.
I have had a few problems with it. Some days it just keeps counting, even if I'm not moving; it just starts going at midnight so I'm up in the thousands of steps before I even get out of bed. I just take the battery out and it resets, but if you are really serious about managing your steps you should consider this.
Overall, I'm happy with it, and do recommend the Fitbit for a casual user like myself.

Purchased this product as a gift for my mom. She loves it and found it easy to learn how to use. Very straight forward. For the Fitbit Zip, the battery is not rechargeable so you don't have to worry about charging it daily, but will need to replace the battery in a several months. Step count is very accurate.

I have a fit bit zip and I bought this one for my husband when is old manual pedometer bit the dust. It is much smaller and easier for him to use than the old one. My only complaint is the flaw on the last row of numbers to the right, and that only shows up when the step count is over 10,000. Overall great product!

This is a great activity tracker! It works really well with the app on my iPhone and it tracks very accurately. I love that I can challenge my friends within the app and we can see who is winning or losing. This tracker is also very inconspicuous, you don't see it while you are wearing it.

This device is excellent, the only downside I have noticed so far is that the battery life indicator doesn't seem to be very accurate, several times already the battery indicator has told me battery was almost depleted just to show "full" status the next day, this is perhaps why so many people here have reported low life battery issues, yesterday I even got a low battery level e-mail, but today it's showing full again? not sure if it is reporting an erroneous full status or the other way around actually, time will tell.
All other aspects of the device work as expected, it is very accurate when it comes to counting steps, it tells you steps, distance, calories and the time it is. it doesn't look cheaply made and even the package gives it a premium feel when you first open it, and it comes with a cover which is also the belt clip at the same time.
it is also very small in size, so I would suggest putting it on your pocket, even though it has a clip it could be easily lost.

It is small and fits securely on the waistband of my pants. The app is so easy to navigate. I enjoy getting notifications when I earn badges or meet my step goals. You can log food and water intake and it will let you know how many calories you can consume to maintain current weight.

I like this better than the wrist option. I had trouble with the charging of the battery and then the unit just quit on me. The zip has been reliable so far and seems to be giving accurate step information.

It's a fun little gadget - it does not count EVERY step exactly, but it is close enough to give you an idea how many steps a day you do.
It's small enough that you forget you have it on. Silicone clip is great to attach FitBit it to your clothes, or without the clip just put it in your pocket.
It will not connect to my Android phone, but I still sync my information to my laptop, which is really easy and once you set it up, works pretty well.
Just so you know, it DOES NOT work very well for riding a bicycle. Did not seem to count "steps" on a bike very well.
Overall though, I recommend this product.

Overall, this is a nice fitness reminder in a small, less expensive package. The only issue I have found is to remember to change it into my workout clothes and not getting "credit" for that activity. I might consider a more full function one at a later time.

I bought this for my husband to wear while at work. He won't wear a watch so this was the perfect size. So far it seems to track steps pretty accurately. The clip fits pretty tightly but I think he'll probably just put in his pocket most of the time.

I wanted to try Fitbit out, but didn't want to jump in with one of the more expensive devices to start with. This is perfect. Clip it into my pocket first thing in the morning. It makes me conscious of what I'm eating and how many calories I'm burning. I love it!

This is my second Fitbit and I love it. As far as I am concerned using Fitbit is the best way to keep me motivated. It counts my steps and and calories burned and looks good besides. I have also bought them as gifts for friends and family. Great product.

The FitBit Zip motivates me to stay active and helps me keep my calorie intake under control. The food log doesn't have all the latest foods, but you can manually key in the calories quickly or add a custom food. I'd definitely recommend this product.

This is great for the price it is a little sensitive when walking so as you are setting it up it is actually counting activity even though you are not doing anything; outside of that the tracking is awesome.
It seems to be pretty reliable so far and it is very easy to use...the one negative was in mine you really had to jam the battery in to get it to hold in place while you locked the door. On top of that once it was in you would think it was not because you really have to tap the screen hard to get it to turn on...That is a plus and a minus..good for if you drop it it can handle the impact bad just for being a pain haha.
other than that if you wanted a simple tracker for a lot less money than fuel bands, and all the other watches and trackers out there priced at $100+ more than this is the item for you....It is definitely worth it for the cost difference.

The ZIp is great! It seems to be more accurate that any other device I have compared it to. It is worn on your body not your arm. The other step counters can be fooled by swinging your arm. The only down fall is the battery dies quickly.

A Great Little Activity Tracker

My Fitbit Flex died so I thought I would try out this less expensive version while waiting for a company replacement. I was pleasantly surprised! It is easy to read, can be worn on a wristband or attached to clothing or even stuck in a pocket. I especially liked that the time is always displayed and the battery does not need to be charged every few days! If it weren't for 2 small omissions , I would switch for good. It does not track hours slept which I really enjoy nor does it have a backlight so you can't read the display in the dark. It's a great little tracker for the price and Fitbit customer service is outstanding!!!! The app works seamlessly on my iPhone too.

I like the fitbit zip because it clips onto your clothing making it very secure. It has a displays the time, tracks steps and active minutes, And the best feature of the fitbit is that you can connect with friends and challenge them to a step-off.
