Customers are saying
Customers are positive about the 70-Pint Dehumidifier's performance, noise level, humidity control, and ease of use, with many praising its effectiveness at removing moisture and its quiet operation. However, customers are negative about the small water tank capacity, which requires frequent emptying, and some express concerns regarding the warranty coverage. The price is also mentioned favorably by some users. Overall, the positive feedback on performance and ease of use outweighs the negative comments on the water tank and warranty.

Works really well
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This 70 pint dehumidifier works way better than anticipated. As per the instruction manual, I ran the unit continuously for several hours when I first got it. I was amazed at how much water this unit absorbed! Time will tell, but judging by multiple reviews and initial observations, this Frigidaire 70 pint dehumidifier seems it will provide for several dry and comfortable years ahead!

Works so far.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Consumer Reports recommended this model and it was readily available in a store near me. My previous Frigidaire dehumidifier lasted 16 years. I was impressed with that service life to keep my basement dry. Reviews have stated that this and all other dehumidifiers will die within 2 to five years due to fatal electronic failures. This is now typical for all appliances unfortunately. They don't make them like they used to and Frigidaire is now owned by Electrolux to boot. Will have to see how long this model will last. Durability was not rated for dehumidifiers by Consumer Reports which was disappointing but is indicative that manufactures are making things to throw away and not to last. I did buy the 4 year store warranty due to other reviews stating that this model will die within a 2 to 5 year time period. Read the warranty! It is working as expected for now, but will have to see if it will stand the test of time. Have owned it for a month and counting. There are a few things about this model that I do not like. The bucket that collects water is horribly small for this unit, only 2 gallons or 16 pints! Best option is to have it drain through a hose which is located on the left hand side of the unit to a floor drain. The worst design flaw with this model is the air intake is at the rear of the unit and not at the front where the bucket is. With this in mind the unit will be taking in air from the wall side so you will need a lot of room between the wall and the unit. Bad engineering, the intake should be at the front facing toward the center of the damp room. The discharged air flows out of the right hand side of the unit. This units layout may not be the best option for your situation so give it a think over. My old Frigidaire had the air intake in the front over the bucket with the air discharge on the left and hose drain on the right. Consider where you will be placing your dehumidifier, the air intake, the air exhaust and drain position before purchasing. Good luck.

Removes humidity after storms drenched house
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.During the Pineapple Express rains in 2/17, the siding on my house got wet, swollen and leaked. Inside the house, the humidity was very high while it dried out. This dehumidifier has routinely removed over a gallon of water every day from the air in the living room. The dry air is much more comfortable and assists in the ultimate goal of drying out the house. We have another dehumidifier in the Master Bedroom (50 pint) and it is slower to remove the excess humidity than the 70 pint model. Normally, I empty them both at the same time; once per day. The 70 pint will have a full bucket, while the 50 pint will be less than a quarter full. After this episode from the storms is repaired, I plan on keeping the de-humidifiers right where they are now. The living room appliance takes moisture out of the air from cooking, running dishwasher, and washing. The 50 pint dehumidifier is fabulous for drawing out the acute, high humidity generated by the long bath/showers I enjoy. Without it, the condensation from bathing makes small streams of water run down the walls and windows. The water then slips under the edge of the flooring and spreads which can cause mold, support insects, and damage the sub floor. This must be prevented! We have positioned each dehumidifier under an air conditioner for the summer. Since it ejects warm and dry air, in the summer the rooms become too warm. I have both the air conditioners and de-humidifiers on constant operation and automatic economy mode. This way, I can achieve a stable environment within which to rehabilitate my health.

Used In My Garage
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a four car garage where I keep cars, bikes, tools and swim toys for the lake. Needed the dehumidifier to eliminate the moisture during the week when we don't have the doors open. the capacity of the 70 pint unit was perfect for the large area. The unit maintained a 40 percent level and did not run continuously. I used the hose attachment to drain the water into the garage floor drain.

This thing is a true workhorse!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I held off on my review to really see how this dehumidifier held up. I purchased it as a replacement to a unit in my basement that was finally failed after working overtime during the summer of 2018 when our area received record amounts of rainfall. After purchase the record setting rains in our area continued and this dehumidifier had its work cut out for it running non-stop for the remainder of the summer as I brought the humidity down in our basement from over 70% to below 45% and kept it there despite natures best attempt to cover everything in my basement in mold and mildew. This unit is also much quieter than my last unit and overall I could not be happier and highly recommend this unit anybody looking for a reliable dehumidifier.

Easiest to use so far
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have only had a few weeks, but it is by far the easiest I've had to empty the tank. Nice handle, even without - design of the tank makes it easy to carry - unlike some of the more/less square cube ones I've had in the past. Lots of features that I just don't even bother with - I guess someone might care, but it just works out of the box pretty well.

Best dehumidifier for the money!!!!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have had a dehumidifier for years in our basement. This is probably one of the best ones we have had. It runs very quiet. It has a larger than average tank to hold water. We are very happy with our purchase and the best part was the price. It happened to be on sale on line, and Best Buy at the store gave us the on line price. VERY SATISFIED. Always have been with Best Buy

Excellent performance
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this dehumidifier for the basement of our new house after measuring the humidity and finding it quite high. Well packaged and easily set up. Sucks the moisture out of the air like nobody's business! Brought the humidity level down very quickly in the roughly 900 sq ft area. The bucket will fill up quickly if in a high humidity room. The continuous drain option is the only way to go if it's possible where you locate the dehumidifier. There's no pump for the waste water, so you'll need a continuous downward slope in the hose from dehumidifier to final drain. This may require setting the dehumidifier on top of something depending on where you locate it and the routing of your drain hose, but it would be well worth doing to avoid manually emptying it. Very happy with this purchase.

seems to work so far - real test is how long it la
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My biggest complaint is that Best Buy would not take my old dehumidifier for recycling. We paid $10 to our local recycling center to have it properly disposed of, but Best Buy should help protect the environment by taking "trade-ins" for recycling. The additional cost this would add to each unit sold would likely be less than I paid to recycle my old one.

Excellent Product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This dehumidifier has exceeded our expectations. We purchased our home in the early spring (2015) and as the weather warmed up we quickly realized that our finished basement had a humidity issue. I searched online for a humidifier and compared many models. This one had everything I was looking for. Price, Capacity, efficiency (energy star) and design. I was still a bit skeptical of how it would perform long term however. This dehumidifier was purchased In late July and ever since it has been a work horse. The basement remains at about %55-%60 down from the %90 that it was without it. On the highest fan setting it can be quite loud but running it on the low speed setting is much quieter and just as effective. Before purchasing it the sofa began feeling damp to the touch and I was concerned about the electronics (TV, Gaming Consoles etc) getting damaged. The basement is now bone dry and the musty smell is gone as well. The front load bucket with handle is very easy to remove and reinstall when it's time to empty the bucket as well. There is a hose attachment also but due to the location we do not use it. The basement is used as the primary living room and the design of the dehumidifier looks great. I recommend this product to anyone experiencing humidity issues.

Used as old utility basement dehumidifier
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy setup. Ran RV hose to unit. Drained good for a few days and then diverted to bucket??? Rehooked up hose and has drained fine since. Very quiet compared to older 50 pint frigidaire. Also good to have 3 speed instead of two. Older unit came with extra filter. This one does not. However it is cleanable but be careful not to damage it.
