Customers are saying

Customers are positive about the 70-Pint Dehumidifier's performance, noise level, humidity control, and ease of use, with many praising its effectiveness at removing moisture and its quiet operation. However, customers are negative about the small water tank capacity, which requires frequent emptying, and some express concerns regarding the warranty coverage. The price is also mentioned favorably by some users. Overall, the positive feedback on performance and ease of use outweighs the negative comments on the water tank and warranty.

I purchased the Frigidaire dehumidifier because the upper level of my home was frequently reaching humidity in excess of 70%. The unit works very well and quickly. I have seen humidity drop 20 points in 40-45 minutes. Controls are simple. Push button controls adjust to your desired humidity level in 5 point increments. Fan has high-medium-low settings. It is very easy to pull-slide out the receptacle and drain captured water. The unit will cease operating when the receptacle fills up. Beeping and flashing light alert you to empty the receptacle. There is an option to connect a drain line between the unit and a drain, if a drain is convenient. But with high volume capacity and infrequent draining, I haven't bothered to set it up yet. Bottom line, it does what it says. The only drawback is it is moderately noisy. I suspect all brands and models would be.

My basement is bone-dry now. Used to smell kind of musty, but within 2 days of installing (using the hose attachment to run to basement floor drain), is now driest part of my house. Unit is loud, but as we don't spend a lot of time in basement, not an issue for me at all. Also am running at highest setting, so that may have something to do with it.

The set up was easy. The hose I could attach saves having to empty the tank. The maintainence is minimal, a great feature! This dehumidifier makes a noticeable difference in keeping my basement dry. It runs quietly and I've had no issues over the past month since I bought it.

Humidity in my basement reached 70%, so I did some research and bought this unit. I also purchased the 4-year extended warranty after reading about the reliability problems many owners have had with dehumidifiers from virtually all the manufactures. So far, it has worked well. Humidity is down to 45% and the musty odor is nearly gone. Issues to consider: If you have a large basement, the unit will work more effectively if you use it in combination with a fan like the 20-inch Lasko Wind Machine. The unit makes a fair amount of noise, like a window air conditioner. If you're watching TV in the same room, the noise level can be distracting. The air intake is on the rear and it discharges warm dry air on the right side, which limits the options for convenient and effective placement. The water reservoir fills up quickly - I had to empty it every six hours during the first week and every 8 - 10 hours afterward during summer. That routine gets old very fast. Use the drain attachment if feasible. The built-in humidistat gives accurate humidity readings after the unit runs for 10 - 15 minutes. When the compressor cycles off, the readings can be 10 - 20% higher than the actual humidity in the room (I purchased separate ThermoPro temperature/humidity meters to verify this). Lastly, I recommend plugging the unit into a good surge protector. Most owners who've reported problems online with dehumidifiers say the electronic controls are prone to malfunction more often than the compressor.

While owning 2 previous dehumidifiers, this Frigidaire unit is quite an advanced unit with its efficiency, quiet operation, and overall performance keeping the humidity low and exact.

My wife & I did some research on dehumidifiers and found that the Frigidaire FFAD7033R1 was reviewed to be highly rated. We've been using it for about 2 weeks now and are utterly impressed! We didn't realize how humid our home was unless we started dumping multiple buckets of water out daily. Highly recommended!

I have two of these dehumidifiers and I could tell the difference almost as soon as I plugged them in. My old dehumidifiers were over 20 years old, but these work quietly and efficiently. I have one in the basement set to drain automatically and one where I have to empty the bucket, but the handle makes it easy to carry without spilling.

Quickly pulls humidity out of the air and as a bonus the room smells better too. During the first day I emptied the bucket multiple times. I did hook up the drain line, but liked seeing how quickly the bucket filled so I disconnected the hose. I am thinking of buying a second one for another area.

This dehumidifier works well to reduce the humidity in the basement even during a season when the humidity outdoors is high. Installation is simple. The only problem is that the air intake vent is on the rear, so I must set it out from the wall. side or top venting would facilitate placement of the unit in a small basement.

Purchased this dehumidifier to replace another brand that failed to dehumidify after two years use. The decision to purchase this make/model was made based on other reviews and experience with other Frigidaire appliances. This dehumidifier has been working well in the month I have owned it. It runs relatively quietly and is easy to empty. While this unit does not have a pump, I plan to move it to a location near a sink and use the provided drain line outlet to connect a PVC drainline (purchased parts for less than $5) and automatically drain to the basement sink. This unit has a timed filter check light and the filter is easy to remove, clean, and reinstall. I gave it four stars only because I don't yet know if it will hold up long-term.

I had no idea how this product would work I have to say it works fantastic took the humidity out of my house in about 2 hours I like the auto shut off feature to. the only thing I had a problem with was getting the full tank out of the bottom of the unit. Would be nice if the tank was o. The top portion of the unit.

This machine has been running non-stop in our house and has made a night and day difference in the air quality and smell. I'm mad I waited so long to get one. So far it has steadily pulled buckets of water out of the air every day with no problems!

Our experience with dehumidifiers has been very disappointing. The appliances haven't lasted much more than a year before they stop working, freeze up and need to be replaced. This is a new machine and is working perfectly but so haven't all the rest before they break down after a year or so. At $250 on average we expect more than a year or two out of the dehumidifier.

We have only used this dehumidifier for about two months at this point, but so far it has worked as advertised. The feature of setting a percent moisture does a very good job, and the settings appear to be quite accurate. Much better product than our previous one that was recalled.

Bought this after seeing reviews online. It was the top pick for 2017 according to some websites. The white clean look makes the unit look very modern. The carry handle and wheels make it easy to move around. There is a very small window to let you see how full the bucket it. There's also a white light that blinks when the bucket is full and needs to be empty. The unit makes less noise then my old unit that this one replaced. This 70 pint dehumidified my house very quickly. Overall I am satisfied with it. Don't know yet about reliability. The only downside I find is the bucket isn't as big as my old unit. I have to empty the bucket about 3 times a day in my house compared to just twice with my old unit.

This dehumidifier works great! I purchased it to replace a different one (can't remember the brand though) which was really loud and constantly had to adjust it. So far this Frigidaire dehumidifier works great, is MUCH more quiet, and I don't have to constantly tinker with it. I keep it in my basement and down there you do hear it (as though a fan is running) but on the first floor I don't hear a thing. My basement has never been dryer, either! I even am able to hang-dry my clothes down there without the fear of mold or mildew because this dehumidifier takes care of it! I'm really happy with this purchase and I'd definitely buy it again.

I've been very happy with this dehumidifier that I placed in my basement. It is quieter than the last one I owned and has been working well for the past 2 years. I use the hose connection so the water from the dehumidifier automatically goes into the basement drain.

I needed to get a dehumidifier for my mom. I own the predecessor to this model and it has worked great. This is slightly more efficient. Best Buy was the only store in the area that had it in stock, so could pick it up right away. The only drawback to this model is a smaller water tank. This was solved by buying a condensate pump and a small garden hose and it is now setup to automatically drain the water. There is no longer the need to manually empty the water tank. You can go away for a few days or more and it works by itself without the need to empty the tank. Great setup.
