I don't call 80lbs portable - but I was desperate and it was the only one in store at jantzen beach. I thought a portable non-window unit meant i could sit it anywhere in my house and turn it on. absolutely not the case. I have to run a huge awkward hose to a window, and I only happen to have 1 downstairs in my townhouse. So I've got this 80lb beast sitting practically in the middle of the floor like a massive eyesore. and TOO LOUD. You have to yell at everyone around you so they can hear what you're saying.

got this a few months ago for my 500sqft studio and I musy say its perrrrrrrrfect....no complaints here...its awesome..auto turn on and off..adjustable temp...not to loud its kinda big but well worth it..and price is very fair..enjoy

Hello all, If you are thinking about purchasing this unit or any portable unit, take my advice. Don't!! these units do not cool down a room, heck, it doesn't even make the room comfortable. it is 97 degree's in my bedroom. This unit has been running none stop for 3 days now and it has not cool it down or make it comfortable to sleep in. We had to have our fan on as well. these units are a piece of junk. The government should have them stop making these units because you are paying for something that doesn't work properly. You are probably wondering how big is my bedroom, well, it's almost a 12x9 room. tomorrow, I will complain to the company.

Bought this to cool a server room and it has run for 8 years straight 24/7/365 with no problems.

This portable air conditioner needs a permanent hose drain koine for condensation. The manual states that the drain MUST be below the level of the air conditioner. Next to impossible, seeing as it is a floor unit. Unless you have a floor drain (not in most living/dining/bed rooms). This was not explained clearly in the manual. I hooked the unit up in the evening and didn't look at it again until the next morning. There was water flooding g my living room. All the condensation was flowing out of the front of the unit all over the floor. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR RESIDENTIAL LIVING AREA USE.

You "haters" about the noise....I don't see your POV. My Lasko fan, which is awesome, btw#, makes more noise on high, which I'd need in 90+ Georgia summer temps. This girl'll give my Lasko a break, I believe.. Plus, the "white noise", as someone's already mentioned, helps. in drounding out other noises. I'lll get back when I have it fully running.

I bought this very heavy air conditioner for my attic. Set it up and with in a few hours it had broken parts. I called the manufacturer who had me on the phone for three phone calls totaling two hours of my time. Result of first phone call was the wrong part was sent. The next phone call I was told they do not have parts for this unit and wanted me to return this 80lb unit. Needless to say I took it back to Best Buy for a refund. Do Not Buy. the cooling power is weak and the customer service even worse.

Got the unit at best buy and it was an open box deal, employees stated is was returned because the previous buyer said it was not cooling. They mentioned that testing was done and it is cooling and the man did not install the ac properly. Happy that I got an open box deal, I get the AC home and get it going. Well no cool air initially and I was hoping it would begin working in a few minutes. 30 minutes went by and the temp in my house continued to rise rather than drop. At 2:36pm 84.9 then at 3:06pm 86.0 then at 3:22 I was up to 86.5. This might be a faulty unit but I can tell you that I don't plan on wasting the time to try another one out. Sorry Frigidaire you didn't win me over. Best Buy, the unit is coming back. Recommending not to put back on shelf

Very satisfied with air conditioner. Would highly recommend this product.

An 80lb poorly designed behemoth that can't cool down a 200sq.ft. room. The plastic masterpiece that is the duct meant to expel hot air is a complete disaster to install even if you're lucky enough to have all of its prongs in tact upon opening. Portable also appears to be a descriptor used for this unit, though, it holds no meaning. If wheels attached to anything make it "portable" then I plan on gluing cheap plastic caster wheels to all my stuff this evening. Considering its oafish size, poor construction and complete inability to perform the chief function of an air conditioner, I've come to the conclusion that this is indeed the worst item ever made. You are awarded no points, Frigidaire, and may God have mercy in your soul.

I actually returned this item the same day, as it didn't work for what I needed it for....

This a great product for the price! Highly recommended!
