Large two story house and central A/C died. It will be 10 days to have a replacement unit installed ($10K). I wanted this unit to cool a large bedroom only. It is just adequate. Yes, it is noisy (same as in some motels) it is heavy to take upstairs and bulky. The instructions are poor and the exhaust hose is difficult to keep in place. If hose slides off the unit or it pops out of the window you pump hot air in the room. So I have to check it daily and use LOTS of duct tape. To be fair this was the only brand and model of portable A/C unit left in the store (I checked 15 stores by phone and 4 in person, both big box stores and Best Buy). Would I buy it again? It is not my first choice but in the same situation, YES, because it let me sleep in a cool room.

A..C, works pretty good, but you need some type of condensation pump to pump out all of the condensate, isn't built in like I originally thought.

A/C unit not good for big rooms. Didn't cool as well as I hoped for. In smaller rooms it worked ok.

Is Huge cumbersome and barely cools a room the only tome it is cool is if you stand in front of it

When I finally got the window installation kit in place, and fired this unit up, my first impression was "hey, this thing actually works!". The window installation kit and the hose leave something to be desired but what the heck, that's really a miner prob. As long as the unit has a clear unobstructed means of venting the exhaust, you're good to go. I live in a mobile home and my central a/c unit needs to be replaced as the old one is like 20 years old and has a cracked a-coil. Being on a fixed income and not being able to afford the $2,300 I was quoted last fall to replace it, I had to entertain another option or sweat out this summer too. I spotted this unit on Target.com and was prepared to buy it from them ($480) until I checked out Best Buy.com. They had it retailing for $100 cheaper than Target! Way to go BB! I had planned to try to bring this unit home from a nearby BB but realized, after looking at the size of the box, that it was not going to fit in the trunk of my 2007 Chevy Malibu...so I opted to buy it online from BB.com. Since I am a premier silver rewards zone member, I was able to get free shipping on it. Ordered it on a Friday morning and got it the following Tuesday afternoon. Box was a little chewed up around the edges. I would highly recommend this unit to anyone and strongly urge anyone that is in the market for this type of a/c unit to buy it. I own a Frigidaire refrigerator, a Frigidaire chest freezer, and now, a Frigidaire portable a/c unit so I believe in the quality of their products. Thanks guys!!!

It makes weird noises but gets the room cold, quess ok

Does not cool a medium-sized room at all. A waste of money.

Bought it for my in-laws who are in their seventies and it's very convenient for them.

This particular unite did not cool my bedroom which is fairly small. After leaving it on and closing the door it still did nothing, only got the room bearable. The one thing I did like was that the vents moved!

My ac was out and it was hot as haiti. Middle of the summer.

I was not impressed with this unit. It didn't cool my room off. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

It said that it could cool up to 400 sq ft. Barely cooled our 350 sq ft room. Also, unlike any other A/C, it never turned off when the desired room temp was reached. Very noisy as well.

please do not listen to other reviews saying this product is terrible, it is broken, it is defective, it puts out too much heat, it does not work, etc.... this unit works fine. if your unit is not working correctly take it back to the store and get a new one. for the unit to work correctly you MUST use the exhaust tube out a window or hole in wall. the ac also has a dehumidifier. there is a tube for water draining for the ac function however mine has never leaked water for over a month since i bought it. also the air vent moves up and down automatically, which is a cool feature. the unit is slightly noisy (reason i gave it 4 stars) however you should get used to it after a few days. i personally like sound of the compressor humming it is soothing and blocks out any other annoying background noise. i use this in a decent sized bedroom that has a queen sized bed and lots of extra space and if i set the unit to 70 degrees the thermometer in my room says 70 degrees within a few minutes. i would say that's a good sign the unit is working well. i achieve this even when the fan is set to low. overall you should be happy if you buy this ac

My fiance purchased this unit about a year and a half ago. Firstly, the size of this unit is average when it comes to portable units. I don't mind the size though, it's fine. I'll take the size of this unit over a hot apartment any day! We can't have a window unit here so this is our only option. Now, installation was a bit of a pain. In order to get the exhaust hose onto the window insert we had to fight and struggle to get the thing on. When we did manage we found that the hose was very sturdy and connected. There's no way it's coming off by accident. The connection to the unit was a little tricky as well but overall, much easier than the one to the window. The drainage hose was very, very simple. You put the hose on the unit then screw on the plastic piece. Done! I didn't like how short the hose was, we wound up purchasing a longer hose from a plumbing supply store. I don't mind the sound on this unit, yes it is a bit noisy but not terrible. What I will say about this unit is that the water drainage is REDICULOUS! The water will not drain up so you have to do one of two things, get a bucket to put the hose in, or get a really long hose that must be pitched down and out a door. There is no way to turn off the dehumidifying part of the unit so the water will always be pouring out. This won't be a problem if you live in a dry climate but I live on the west side of the cascades... it's fairly wet all year long around here. And FYI you have to put the drainage hose in, if you don't then the unit will eventually stop cooling. Another thing I don't really like about this unit is that it doesn't circulate air as much as I would like. I turn on a large fan as well to blow the cold air around so the whole room will cool. Like I said, I don't mind dealing with these issued because it's better than suffering in heat and misery. Overall, if you don't mind having to pay attention to the unit it's fine.

Worked great for two summers with very minimal/low usage. It has the 5 year compressor warranty and my purchase price less taxes, shipping and installation is being refunded. Keep your receipt!
